I thought I'd post this here, since I see so many people who see no improvement in their own art, even though in reality you're improving every time you draw. This is the improvement I've made in the space of a year. January 2015January 2016You WILL get better, please have total faith in yourself and practise. Don't lose your passion and drive for art. <3 0 players like this post! Like? |

ALRIGHT posting here for the actual purpose of the thread! My art in 2014: My art in 2016: Quite pleased with how my art is coming along! I still have a lot to improve on, but this thread is so inspiring to see so many people dedicated to art <3 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lovely work and very impressive improvement, Lum! Your lines are so smooth now and I love the 'sticker' effect. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Damn, Xylax. I really adore your ability to draw expressions so well, that's definitely something I struggle with. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 30/01/16 @ 14:07:41 by Nykosi (#70221) |

Anyway, that's some amazing improvement, guys! I'm quite aware that art takes time, patience and practice. Though, I wish I wasn't as busy, so I could work more on art. My mother is an art teacher, so she often gives me tips on how to improve. But same as everyone said here, she says that practice is the key. I like how Xylax compared that with learning how to walk. If you quit after failing a few times, you would never learn to walk. I completely agree with that. My problem is that I don't have much time for art, and that I quit too quickly. Though, I hope I'll improve.c; 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 30/01/16 @ 14:12:04 by Xylax (#4) |

Amazing as always Xy. I can see the improvement so much! Love it. ;3 It's fine to have less time for arting, l-o. :3 You just have to appreciate that less time will mean it'll take longer to improve, but you will still improve! <3 0 players like this post! Like? |

If you have not much time, a hobby is a good direction, like illustrating your favourite book items, situations or characters ;D takes much less time and attention, and you still can improve a bit every time I will share something that helped me improve greatly in art school (I am sharing art school advices cause, well, not everyone can get into one) One day our art teacher said, she expects 150 hand sketches in 3 days. Whole classroom whined like hell, I am pretty sure I whined too being 14, but I still sat at home and sketched hands 150 times, same pose from different angles, different pose, different styles, pencils, inks, my mom's hands, my dog's paws (lol) I even added a few feet in there, spent long hours after school and ignored everything else. I was the only person in class to bring 150 sketches. Got 4 out of 5 for adding feet. Day after I was drawing a comic for my pleasure and noticed I can draw a hand from memory. I sat there shocked, first time in my life realising that this school is actually teaching me good stuff without being direct about it. This shit impacted me so fucking much. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Wow, Feather! That is a MASSIVE amount of improvement in just a year! You have a lot in store for your future <3 Here's my improvement example: (sorry, I don't remember how to put images up) September, 2014 -> http://imgur.com/ZApPjSR December, 2015 -> http://imgur.com/AIJP6q2 Its not drastic improvement, but I still enjoy seeing old work being compared to new. 0 players like this post!
