Nomads Of The Horizon
A wolf roleplay

The Rules

I. All LioDen Roleplay Rules apply.

II. No godmodding, powerplaying, gary/mary issues, etc.

III. Posts should be in third-person and past-tense, and players are expected to use correct spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation to the best of their abilities. At least a paragraph is required.

IV. We know that life can get in the way sometimes, but please, if you know beforehand that you won't be able to post for a while, let us all know!

V. Fade to black when necessary. I suppose you all get it by now.

VI. Please be polite to everyone OOC. If there is any problem with other members of the roleplay, i would like you to let me or moderators know rather than creating something unnecessary.

VII. You cannot harm or kill another character without making the action an attempt.

VIII. For the most part we are a realistic wolf roleplay; the only fantasy elements should be the characters’ “humanized” personalities and their ability to speak. This means no magical abilities, accessories, or unnatural physical traits (wings, horns, etc).

IX. We encourage you to 'follow the current'; Not knowing what will happen makes the roleplay more interesting and fun, reason why we attempt to avoid OOC plotting. "Character A should meet Character B" is acceptable. "Character A and character B should become mates and start a pack" is not.

X. There will be no formed packs at the beginning. These will be created throughout the roleplay, and to do so, a minimum of five wolves with a common goal assemble and claim a land as their territory. In order for the pack to be accepted, the player of the lead wolf should PM me to receive the pack creation form, and send it back will all the information needed. As for now, we believe that three packs would be a good maximum, though this can change in the future depending on how many members join. Also, please don't create packs right away. Your wolf should take their time to know who their pack-mates will be, to say the least.

XI. New Rule. Things made by man, such as buildings, roads, etc., are non-existent in the lands of Greylea, and there will be no interaction between wolves and humans. Please ignore any constructions that the references show.

XI. New Rule. Please put at the beginning of each post a 'header'. This is used to avoid confussion and to have a more organized post. Stating who your character is interacting with and their location is extremely important, also for the mentioned reasons. An example:

(My brain is currently without a thing to make my wolves do tbh. Shadow's eating and Éric's just eaten and after shelter, but I reckon he'll be wandering for a little while in the cold soo... Until I get a good idea I probably won't post. R.I.P ))

Zeriko ‡ Male ‡ Loner ‡ 3yrs 5 months ‡ Mentions: Ahtrek - Moon - Sparrow

Zeriko's golden orbs looked at the pair. His attention was mostly upon that of the she-wolf, who was circling them. His mind began to spin with many thoughts. 'More wolves means a possibility of survival.' He looked at his hunting companion and approached her and whispered into her ear. “I think I have something in mind. And please, don't hate me.” He then turned to face the charcoal male, his gaze harden as he faced him. “How about we make a proposal . If you want to have a fill, you and your beautiful mate or partner of yours have an option of joining us till we all found the path we intend to take.”

Zeriko turned to face the elk and looked behind his shoulder before he could dig in on the elk. “What do you say? May increase our chances of survival, in this harsh landscape.”

(Welp, this is as far my lovely brain could come up with :/)

Gaya | Female | 2 years, 1 months | Wanderer
Location: Western Grasslands | Mentions: Harley(Raven)

Okay, Barked Gaya. She looked around the grasslands. The only problem... There are no trees. To her south, the woodlands were inhabited by the savage, enemy wolves. To the north, they would practically be walking into the winter. To the east, the dry, plains, where they certainly wouldn't find shelter. There was only here. Hilly, but not trees still. Gaya stood up and scanned her surroundings. To her north, rocky outcroppings were common. Would they provide decent shelter?

Gaya padded a few feet before stopping again. She thought they would be better off checking those rocks. Her mind wandered to how easily it had been to follow Raven's scent all the way to where she'd been sleeping. If Gaya hadn't been friendly... It would have been easy to hurt her gravely, especially with the element of surprise. We'll have to mask our scent. Luckily, I know exactly how to do that. She pointed her muzzle to the rocky outcrops. Let's go there. Come on, follow me.

Gaya padded towards the river she had just left. Once she placed her paws into the cool water, she bent down and lapped at the water for a moment. Keep close to the bank, She said. The water can be strong in the middle. Padding along the river, they soon arrived at the rockies and Gaya slipped out of the water, shaking herself.

Name: Sparrow | Gender:Female | Age: Around 5 years | Location: Eastern Plains
Mentions: Zeriko,Moon,Ahtreck

Sparrow straighten herself so she seemed taller and larger than she actually was, living in the Eastern Plains didn't give her much muscle or a thick coat so i someone tried to snap her neck they's only get a mouth full of fur.
try me she thought before calling back to him.
"I guess you found out then, it must've been a hard question to solve." her voice had an icy edge to it.
"No, what are you-." she started but he had already offered, great, more pups to keep track of, what a worderous day... Rolling her eyes, the she-wolf muttered "yes, by increasing the number of mouths we have to feed is going to make life so much easier..." Swishing her tail in irritation.
((don't worry im in the same boat ))

Zeriko ‡ Male ‡ Loner ‡ 3yrs 5 months ‡ Location: Eastern Plains ‡ Mentions: Sparrow

Zeriko lifted his muzzle from the carcass to look at the the female and rolled his eyes and flicked his right ear with frustration. "Just eat. I'm not in the mood to have you laying on the ground dying with hunger." He gave a sigh and straighten himself to have eye level with her. "Besides, more wolves gives us a great chance of survival. Besides, who said I was doing this for free." He gave a flick of his tail as he looked at the two wolves, who are (probably) talking with eachother on the proposal he came up with. "Make sure you eat well. We have a long road up ahead. For some reason, my instincts are telling me to go south. One thing for certain is that we must avoid the north at all cost." He stated, shaking his fur as chills went down his spine.

(so short -.-)

Vex | Male | 3 Years | Wanderer
Location: Eastern Plains | Mentions: N/A ~ Open

A fairly large black wolf stood out substantially against the tans and Browns of the terrain around him, but it was no fur off his back, blending in wasn't his main priority at the moment. It was following the scent of wolf. So sweet, the air was against his tongue as it carried that delicate smell to him, leading straight to his prize. He could barely contain himself as he drew nearer, the heat of this place was beginning to weigh heavily upon him, and with his thick coat meant for more cool temperatures, he was eager to eat and gain back the energy that was lost.

Some would find it strange he had a particular taste for his own, but the blood of your kin was always the sweetest, he would continuously say, and it was that blood he found was the only thing to satisfy him. Though he could still eat prey thought to be more suitable for a wolf, he couldn't deny there always remains an inch in the pit of his stomach, only able to rake metaphorical claws over the irritated skin once the blood of another wolf blanketed his tongue.

OOC: Well that was graphic, yet also very fun to write... I might just be a little twisted in the head. Hmm.

Clay | Female | 3 years, 8 months | Wanderer
Location: Eastern plains | Mentions: don't ask me sorry, have to run
Zeriko,Moon,Ahtreck, Sparrow

Dark dirt mixed with clay was shifted as filthy claws sunk into the ground. The messy female was focused on the task at paw. Her short tail wagging happily. The fluid motion of her paws scooping and moving the dirt comforted her. For once the grey wolf was digging up instead of down, following the sound of voices. The tunnel was dark and cool compared to the scorching heat above. The young wolf's ears were pinned back to avoid dirt falling inside and her body was lax and close to the ground.

Clay inwardly smiled when the voices became clear. Too clear to be safe. The scent of fresh kill and many wolves created a panic in her lonely mind. She wanted to dig faster up and jump playfully out at them but she hadn't encountered more than one wolf since she woke up in the middle of no-where. A quiet whine left the petite wolf's muzzle as she squished herself around and started back down the tunnel; her clumsy movements breaking the surface of the plains by the foreign wolves.

Ahtrek|Male|3 Years 7 Months|Wanderer| Eastern Plains
Mentions: Moon - Zerikos - Sparrow - Clay

Ahtrek's eyes narrowed at the orange male, watching as he started a side conversation with his former partner. His tail was now held out vertical, and had stiffened within the moment, rimmed ears were fully erect showing how alert he was. His back appendages have stiffened to, preparing to run..or fight.. The brute's words honestly surprised him listening despite his distaste for that brown irritant that kept spilling her mouth when it was not needed. The offer was golden and it would be a lot easier with more wolves to hunt with. His gaze softening as he glanced back at Moon, she had all rights to this decision too for she tried to avoid large crowds. But it would only be just four of them, and four is vital enough to bring down another elk easily.

A huff of air flared from his open nostrils recalling the orange male complimenting Moon as charmingly as he could. A negative reaction wanted to stir and drawn his upper lip to a quiver, but he remained vigilant and controlled his aggressive demeanor. There was no need to add any more fire to this awkward gathering and if they were going to survive, four was better than two. Leaning his long jaws towards Moon, he whispered. " What do you think?" He kept a stern gaze on the two strangers, his left ear picking up a very faint...what would you say; whine? It sounded high pitched but, he doubts it was from the four of them. Sending the female a harsh stone gaze with pinned ears at her fabulous retorts.. My sake, she is annoying.. He thought deeply, he hoped that female would straighten up if they truly were to work together. Watching the orange male start to feast on the carcass, his hunger began to stab him repeatedly in a tease.

Moon | Female | 3 Years, 7 Months | Wanderer | Eastern Plains | Mentions: Ahtrek, Zeriko, Sparrow, Clay, Vex (briefly)

She furrowed her brows, 'sure, it would be easier..' She began, 'but i'm not sure. I don't trust them, and when we're all living together, wolves can kill while the others sleep,' she reasoned, she had a bad feeling about this area. 'With just two wolves, we can take down enough prey to survive just fine, if we include smaller prey' she reasoned once more. 'I don't know, it's your call.. I just.. Don't trust them... I'm probably being irrational but this area and these wolves scare me. If we do travel with them, maybe sleep in different areas? Split from the group as soon as possible? I guess i'm just nervous... It really is your call' she said, very obviously wary of the strangers. Her ears remained perked as she spoke, she didn't want to let her guard down.

Harley(Raven)|Female|3 Years|Loner|Location: Western Grasslands|Mentions: Gaya

Raven followed Gaya into the water, not particularly wanting to get wet, but didn't want her scent tracked. She gingerly stepped into the water, making a grunting noise. Although her fur would be sopping wet, her paw pads felt good in the fresh water after walking days on end on the harsh rocks in the Eastern Plains.

Raven followed Gaya to an outcropping of rocks, following her out of the water, and shaking her silvery black coat. "No what?" she asked, "Is this where we're going to spend the night?" she asked. She looked around, rather wanting to sleep in the cool grass than another rock, but It would have to do if it kept them out of sight from other wolves and predators.

Zeriko ‡ Male ‡ Loner ‡ 3yrs 5 months ‡ Eastern Plains ‡ Mentions: Ahtrek - Moon - Sparrow - Clay ‡ Status: Quenched, Full, Alert

Zeriko was able to pick up on their conversation, although he wasn't quite interested on what they were saying. Once he had his fill of the elk, he licked his bloodstained muzzle and faced the two strangers who were having some difficulty on wether or not to take his rare offer. He stood tall, hackles raised which made him look twice as big as he gave out a loud growl to bring their attention, even the she-wolf who Zeriko traveled with during the middle of the day to hunt down some big game, lifted her gaze towards him. “Listen, both of you. Make up your mind already and decide if you want to join us. I really don't care what you choose as long as we don't waste any more valuable time we have left of the day.” He turned and walked away towards the brown she-wolf. He realized that her pelt reminded him of that of a bird his mother used to introduce him during their time together when he was a pup. He stood beside her but kept his distance as she ate. “I'm sorry if I forced you or anything into helping me hunt down this gal. Anyways, will you join me till we take our seperate paths?” A gentle, friendly smile flickered across his attractable features. The scar which ran across his muzzle was barely noticeable.

Before the she-wolf was able to reply an unexpected whine took everyone by shock. He looked at the charcoal male, his broad features showing confusion just like the rest of them. But, the noise was definitely coming from underground. Zeriko placed his nose on the ground, a faint scent of earth and that of an animal. He turned to face the puzzled wolf behind him. “Keep your eyes and ears open. Don't let your guard down. This is definitely not just burrow animals. You, come with me.” He stated, looking at the male, seriously. Then faced the females. “Guard the prey. Prey is scarce here in the plains so I wont blame them if they are after this elk. Also keep in mind that this may just be a diverstion to keep us distracted.” He walked off, following the scraping of soil. He gave out a loud bark. “Come out and show yourself before we do it for you!” Where they stood it was more earth then rocks and stones. He gave a nod and began to dig as quickly as he could. With the help of the male they were able to catch a glimps of something furry.

At first, he mistaken it for a giant mole which got him confused. 'Do moles live in the plains?' But as they look closely it was a wolf who looked up at them with fright. Her fear-scent stronger every second they stared at her. 'What is a wolf doing underground?'

Gaya shrugged. She looked at the rocks, acknowledging it didn't seem very comfortable. Well, around here. The rocks will provide good cover. Unless you know someplace better? She asked, though it was not challenging. It was said with confidence that showed Gaya was pretty sure there were not better places. She padded along the side of the rocks, searching for some enclave in the rocks.

Finally, she spotted something that looked promising. The rock turned sharply, onto the side, and then jutted again, giving a little bit of shelter, a shallow cave, while being out of sight of the forest. Which was a good thing. There was sparce grass, which would make sleeping easier, as well as rocks. Gaya sighed as she sniffed around the cave. This seems like a good place, She said. Though, I don't know about you, but do you want to go on a final hunt? At this, Gaya glanced at the setting sun. Perhaps they would have a slight advantage. No more shadows that could work against them during fishing.

Kairos | Southern Woodlands | Loner | Ment: Luma

He couldn't deny teaming up with someone was not a bad idea. It was pretty good, likely to keep him alive even longer. He had the fox, and that was decent enough. He could catch a few rabbits and smaller animals, though. "That would not be a bad idea, Luma. One hunt, another keep guard on the cache..." He trailed off, letting the silence finish the sentence.

But not a single pack? Strange. With this many wolves, there had to be packs throwing youngsters out to make or join new ones. Hmm.
