The silver tabby's eyebrows furrowed slightly, along with a low huff of dissatisfaction escaping him. "I highly doubt that Nightstar would let me go.....If I asked him by myself." He paused, vibrant green gaze settling onto the she-cat. "Maybeee... We could go ask them together? I'm sure they'll see it as more important if you join me." He purred softly, his raised tail forming in an upside down hook shape. "I can do most of the talking if you want, of course."

Smiling at him a little, she purred, "Maybe get settled in a bit more, Echopaw, I don't want to take your away from Frogeye before he has a chance to train you on some basics. Maybe I'm a couple days I can take you out gathering with me again, okay?" With how new the young cat still was to the clan, she didn't want to push anything yet.

With a rather exaggerated roll of the eyes, the tom waved a foreleg as if to dismiss what she said. "I don't need training to fight. I wasn't some kitty-pet. I was a rogue. I fought all the time, thanks to you clan cats being so strict with the boarders." He locked eyes with the medicine cat, giving her a sly smile to show he didn't hold it against her. "I wouldn't be surprised if I taught Frogeye a thing or two when it came to fighting. Maybe I could even teach you ways to defend yourself." He gently nudged the she-cat, his long tail brushing against her side.

"I'm not defenseless, I learned some fighting moves when I was an apprentice myself," she said, "Echopaw, it's important that you learn how the Clan fights so that you can fight alongside them. Now, they will protect you and you will protect them." Right now, the tom seemed a little arrogant and the other warriors definitely wouldn't like that.

Echopaw's ears perked as the she-cat spoke. "I didn't mean to offend. I meant more so I could teach you new stuff. I traveled all over the forest, learned moves other clan cats use. Swift attacks from windclan cats, powerful swipes from thunderclanners, all that. Moves some Shadow clan cats might not even think about." His ears turned back slightly, "I know that, Clover. If I wanted to fight alone I would have stayed a rogue." He gave her a half smile, though now he realized that the clan cats may never fully trust him. Once a rogue, always a rogue, he supposed, some cats being plenty more vocal on their opinions of him. "I want to prove myself. I figured getting to know the thing that guides all of you would help your clan trust me, you know?" His smile faded a bit, one ear turning back as he let out a breathy chuckle. "Your clan... It wont be a while until I get used to saying 'my clan' or 'our clan'."

Sighing again, the she-cat said, "If you still really want to come to the Moonstone with me tonight, we can speak with Frogeye and Nightstar. There, we will meet with the other medicine cats and will return in the morning." Maybe seeing the power of StarClan would give him a bit more respect. He may have had skirmishes with cats from the other Clans, but they had generations of learning how the other Clans fought and how to fight against them in return.
