"Sundrop are you sure this is a good idea? didn't dad say that it's dangerous to go near the river without a lion or lioness' company? last time I was here i swear i saw the scariest leopard...or a lioness with rosettes, scarier than Blackheart and Leopardfur!" Sunflower whispered in a hush tone to his adolescent sister.
"quite being such a wimp sunflower! that was ages ago, we're older now, plus bloom is almost an adult !" she hissed to her brother.
"can you guys keep it down?! we're still near our waterhole territory, we're not breaking rules....yet.."she whispered the last part to herself.what could she say? they were young and wanted an adventure!

meanwhile on the other side of the territory...

Tawnypelt sat under a tree, enjoying the smell of near by flowers and the soft breeze though his pelt. he was enjoying his moment of silence and just listen to the grass and tree whisper and tell stories. currently all the lioness were enjoying themselves with other lions, flirting and such while his brother, and pride king, tried his best to keep things under control. but thats hard when he too was busy flirting around. Tawnypelt was always an interesting lion, he smelt of a female, and could even give birth to cubbin as the shamans had found out. a part of him wished for love like the rest but he also enjoyed his peaceful life.

Ambrosia scowled at her pridemate as she sat in the hot sun while he gathered shells down at the river. Why was Makoto so obsessed with grabbing those puny useless heart shells? It was stupid... She rolled her black eyes and flopped in the tall grass. "How long are you going to take, gathering those silly shells?"

Makoto flicked his ear and hummed, finding it funny that she was so whiny on such a nice day. "Not much longer, i think i saw quite a few down the way." He says as he starts to walk along the river and away from his bored pridemate, swishing his tail high in the air as he happily trotted along, unaware that he was headed towards some lions that he did not know. He may not have a use for these pretty shells, but they would make lovely decorations in the future.

"oh these shells are so nice.." Sunflower said to himself as he began to pick them up, and collecting them. two shells put together made a heart, he was certain his uncle Tawnypelt would love these for his den, it was exactly something he'd place around with his flowers and such. "hey Sundrop, we should take a few of these home for uncle Tawny!" he said only to be met with silence. "oh... this cant be good...everything will be fine...yep..everything.." he though to himself, picking up the flowers and shells to distract him only to run into...


Sundrop had picked up a sent of a DikDik, and imidatlely began to follow it's trail. she could test out her training so far with it. busy with following and stalking the dikdik, she forgot about her brother and continued forward...

(oh wait makoto Does know these lions, well sunflower and sundrop at least, though their meeting was quite brief. My bad! Haha)
Makoto walks onward to the spot where he had seen the shells, to find that a young lion he vaguely recognized had beaten him to them. He waves his tail in greeting as he speaks kindly, noting the young male had grown into a rather handome teen.

"He would make a good heir to someone's pride one day.", he thought to himself.

"Hello there."

-A bit further away.-

Tired of waiting on Makoto, Ambrosia stands. Lazy toy hoarder. She had better things to do like...hunt. Yes. Hunt. She could have sworn she saw something moving nearby, and crouched low in the grass, silently waiting for a chance to pounce. Even if it wasn't edible it would still be fun to scare!

Sunflower jumped dropping all his shells. "o-o-oh hi there!" he said slightly shyly. "im not passing territory am i? i got serperated by my sister while collecting these pretty shells, " he said referring to the scattered pile. "then again, these might be too many huh? he chuckled.

The dikdik jumped out into the clearing, an adolencent close behind it trying to chase it down when her stalking failed, Sundrop failed to notice the lioness she had just passed.

Makoto offers a kind smile and starts to try to pile up the shells for the young adolescent, so they would be easier to pick up. "Well, this isn't my territory, but yes. I doubt you and your sister would get into any trouble here..." He looks at Sunflower and tilts his large head slightly, somehow his shells were tangled in his mane for safe keeping. "You say you got seperated from your sister? I could help you try to find her if you like."


Ambrosia growled, startled. When did she get here? How come she had not noticed her? Either the little lioness was really good at hiding or she was loosing her touch. She quickly trotted after the young one, trying to catch up to her, muzzle wrinkled. Either way that adolecent was hunting on her lands.

Sunflower nodded and smiled, "id like that alot actually, i dont have much to offer besides these shells" he said with a smile. "hope she didnt get herself into trouble..."

Sundrop knew how to hide her sent from her mentor leopard fur who was apart of the lead huntress', and though she wasn't as strong she was incredibly fast and agile. she hoped to join the squad of lead huntress' one day. eventually she was able to tackle the dikdik and finish it. "ah ha! i did it! i told them i cou- ooooh...." her ears dropped at seeing the lioness fast approaching

On a rock under a shady tree by the river where the shells were being gathered a lioness slept. She was very tired from her journey to get to this point. She just had to get away from the cruelties of her leader.
Her dark fur blended well with the shadows cast on the rock, giving her an additional form of protection even in her light slumber. Her ears pricked; something was drawing close to her resting place.

Makoto smiles and nods, looking around from where he stood.
"Where did you last see your sister, may i ask?"


Ambrosia stopped a few inches short of the young lioness and growled, lashing her tail. "And what do you think you are doing?" She asks this in a rather snarky tone, she would not admit it, but she was impressed by Sundrop's takedown of the dik dik.

"well we were exploring the outskirts of the territory and ooooh...she may have crossed the tall grass to the river.."shivers went up his spine remembering the lioness from the last encounter.

sundrop tensed a before stand straight and tall, "i was testing my hunting skills! im going to join my pride's lead huntress' one day but i got to prove myself. she said proudly with a smirk, standing over her kill, looking like a cub who cought their first bug. " 'must be brave, must be brave, papa always said to stand your ground' she thought to herself.

The lioness opened one white eye, and after deeming the male in front of her not a threat stretched and sat up. "Hello," she said in a cautious tone, "I do hope I'm not intruding on your territory, Sir, but I needed to take a rest and this seemed like the safest place to do so. I can leave if you wish."

Makoto looks across the river and sighs softly. "Oh dear... That is where ambrosia likes to hunt..." He quickly shakes his head. "Pardon my manners, my name is Makoto, what is yours?"


Ambrosia straightens up as well, curling her lip as if amused. "Lead huntresses huh? Well do your huntresses hunt on other lions lands?" She asks this in an almost teasing way, not a hint of cruelty to be found. She found that sundrop's bravery was commendable. Most lions would just run away as soon as they saw her.

Yukio sat down, and yawned lazily. "You are free to stay here as long as you like miss. If you don't mind i will sit here and wait for my pride to return, from whatever they may be doing."
