According to the Wiki, "Rosettes seem to be the most popular marking on Lioden currently, due to the mysterious nature of how they're passed on, and the fact that they can randomly pop up in any breeding. There are tons of user theories and conspiracies floating around regarding how Rosette works, but nobody truly knows—the code has yet to be cracked." Soooo I'm wondering if this is relevant or not.. I have a slow internet connection a lot of the time when I play (I play solely on mobile) and I've noticed that sometimes as a lion's textures load one by one, some of them have a spotty pattern underneath their markings even though they don't have any spotty markings? I've also noticed it on cubs but thinking maybe that's just because cubs have spots irl. Idk maybe I'm just crazy 😂 0 players like this post! Like? |

I had a cub born with a random slot 1 Rosette! @249436: That's my current theory! Going through some older discussions about when the Soft Rosette Markings were first released, it was mentioned that Xylax stated in the news that he was "inspired" by the then-current rosette passing theories. There's a spreadsheet someone put together that I'm going through right now with all the confirmed random Heavy and Soft Rosette cubs and their parents. Not all have Cheetah marking parents, but Feline type markings are overwhelmingly present. [Edit] Ooh, interesting! According to THIS spreadsheet, every Soft Rosette cub (that was posted) had at least one parent with an Unders marking, and Heavy Rosette cubs had a Belly or Under White parent... 0 players like this post! Rhys, I've got 2 heavy rosettes from my Queen, but neither of their parents have belly or under markings (I mean only the mother of the first one has an hidden marking that might be an under, but it's hidden). The father has a leonid feline marking tho, idk if that's the one that produced the rosettes. the first one (mother with hidden under marking) the second one (no under or belly markings) 0 players like this post! @Rin: So I checked the hidden marking on the mom of the Auburn Heavy Rosette, and it is Under White 3 (Slot 11), which fits the theory for Heavy Rosette. But the Red Heavy one, darn. Probably is the feline marks then. Or some marking combo that we don't have a large enough sample size to puzzle out. I'd be tempted to look at the grandparents too, but it's already been stated by developers that only the parents matter when it comes to random rosettes. On page 8, it's revealed that I had a Slot 12 Doubloon Soft Rosette. Neither parent had Pulsar/cheetah marks.
