Swiftstrike gave up trying to talk. He could hear her say, I'm right here. He was happy that he could hear again. He felt her nudge him and move closer. He wished he could move too. He wanted to tell her thank you. He felt something warp around him. The softness was rather warm. He rolls his head to one side and just sees fur. He turns his head back to Harepaw realizing that it was probably lioncloud.

Hearing the heavy and uneven paw steps of Lioncloud approaching, Horsetail looked to the entrance of the den. "Thank you Hawkpaw, for bringing him", the medicine cat said. With the elders large frame also taking up space now in the medicine cat den, it became quite full. "Snowpaw, Hawkpaw mind getting some pray?", he asked the two apprentices.
Walking over to Lioncloud, he sat down next to the elder, he was glad the elder knew what to do. "Sorry for asking you to always do this", Horsetail said, apologising to the calico tom. Whenever a cat had a fever or a kit was ill and needed some comfort, it was always the elder who was called to help with warming or comforting a cat. A small sigh or relief escaped Horsetail, as the tom saw that Swiftstrike had moved and had tried to speak. "Lioncloud is right, Harepaw, your mentor is strong, I'm sure he'll heal faster kow you are by his side", Horsetail said, reassuringly putting his tail on the young she-cat.

A deep purr emitted from the calico tom, it was to relax and comfort the injured tom. He looked up at Horsetail, as the medicine cat started to speak. "I don't mind", the large elder said, shaking his head. He was an elder, if he did not get the chance to help in this way, what else would he do?

She smiled at Lioncloud and Horsetail. "I know." She nodded in agreement. " But it's not something easy to go through, and it's going to be a long process of recovery." She said softly, almost in a sigh. She used her tail to run up and down his side, reassuring him while she talked. Horrified and traumatized were just a couple words to describe how the tom might feel. She decided to do what made her feel better when she was a kit, and started bathing his head.

Snowpaw nods. "Okay." She says to Horsetail. She walks out of the medicine den. She speed walks to the prey pile, not wanting to run and slip, and grabs prey. Okay, Horsetail, Harepaw, Lioncloud, Stripepaw, she list out in her head. She carries back the prey with her mouth full. She places it down inside the medicine den. "Here you go." She says. She brings a mouse to Lioncloud, then Horsetail, after that to Harepaw, then finally Stripepaw.

Featherheart stands up she looked around she needed to talk to someone and see how Switstrike was doing.She knew that the healing process would take time.She looked slightly at the medicine cat den the procesd was going to be long but as long as Swiftstrike got better that was good.She knew the medicine cats would do their best but time was what they needed.She just looked around waiting for someone to talk to her.

"Don't look so anxious." His deep voice coming from the shadows as he stepped out. The tom yawned a little, before sitting by the she-cat, but with more than ample space between the two of them, as the tom was keen on the idea of being close to other cats, as he likes his space. "What's got your tail in a knot?" He asked halfheartedly, looking around the camp.

"Thank you." She smiled at Snowpaw, with a slight nod, before picking up the mouse. Once Lioncloud had ate, she began to eat her own meal passively. She stopped after a few nibbles, and looked at Swiftstrike. She flicked her tail as she thought. How is he going to eat? He must need food to heal, right? She flicked her tail some more, before deciding she would try. She took a small bite off the mouse, and placed it in front of Swiftstrike. She nudged it closer to make it easier for the tom, so he could save what little, and valuable, energy he had. There must be something I can do. She knows that Horsetail and Lioncloud said that being here was enough, but she couldn't sit by idly while her mentor fought for his life. It just didn't feel right. If she had to spend an hour helping the tom eat she would. If she spent another hour getting him to drink she would. If anything she did, no matter how daunting, helped him, then it would be worth it for her.

Hawkpaw saw Snowpaw race to the fresh-kill pile. He looked down to his paws. "Well, I have to go clean my paws off." He meowed looking to his muddy paws. He then looked to his paw prints in camp. The rain had started washing them away. He dipped his head to Horsetail and everyone else in the den. He walked to a river just outside camp. He slid his paws in and started rubbing trying to wash the mud off. It became all muddy and brown but washed away in the river quickly. He hummed to himself. When the mud was all off he walked back to camp. He saw his mentor and walked over to her. "Hi Featherheart." He meowed happily.

Stripepaw looked to the mouse at his paws. He wasn't hungry. He pushed it away. "I''m not hungry." He murmured laying his head on his non armored leg. He hadn't felt hungry in his whole time in the camp. He was still mad at himself for ruining Swallowpaw's lesson. He was also mad that he had disappointed Stormberry and himself. He had failed a simple hunting patrol because his anger got in the way.

As usual, Foxflame hunted alone, quietly enjoying the scent of the rain covered forest. He'd caught another mouse and a vole, and he decided he didn't want to hunt more in such poor conditions. He picked a small, pink flower with only a few petals, soft edges, and a fragrant scent. When the skies began to rumble, his body arched up in surprise.

I suppose it ought not to have been a surprise, he thought.

He picked a smaller pink flower that looked as if it had yellow teeth and followed the others back into camp, where he silently padded towards Featherheart and deposited the vole in the fresh-kill pile, offering the mouse to her instead.

"Regardless of how skillful and beautiful a cat you are, if you do not eat, 'twill surely do no good for you to train, and especially not so in such weather. Though you are indeed beautiful," he whispered, grinning the same mischievous grin he always did. When he finished delivering his message, he crept away to Shrewflight's nest, where he laid the first flower. He laid the second in Featherheart's nest. Having done this, he returned to Featherheart.

"Have you eaten my offering?"

"You've done alright," Duskflight meowed, "but you'd do better if you tried a scooping motion. Like this—"

As he began to demonstrate, lightning struck in the distance. As he tried to scoop up another leaf he had thrown in, making sure he had perfect technique and the utmost grace like he always did, the thunder sounded. It surprised him so much that he slipped, and, though the feather was scooped onto the bank, as he used his left paw to grab the leaf, he fell to his left, and he plunged his face into the water.

He cursed his luck. After getting up and shaking his face to clear his head, he looked back at his apprentice.

"Don't learn from that," he muttered. He looked at the sky. It had been clear when they'd started hunting, but now it was as dark as a Thunderpath.

And rightly so, Duskflight thought. He looked back at Wolfpaw. "It would be mouse-brained to try hunting now. Remember that if you do practice, you have to do it on that part of the stream. Though you can't train alone. Let's go back for now. We'll come back when the sky doesn't chase all the prey away."

He sighed looking back to his paws noticing he hadn't gotten all the mud off. "That's how my paws got all muddy." He chuckled showing his paws. He looked back to his mentor.

Snowpaw shrugs at Stripepaw and carries the prey back to the fresh kill pile. She looked over at Foxflame and thinks how terrible that would be to have your mentor hurt that badly. She walks back to the medicine den. She thought it was nice that Lioncloud agreed to come and warm Swiftstrike. She walks over and sits by Harepaw who, she realized, was trying to help Swiftstrike eat.

Swiftstrike rolls his head towards Harepaw as Harepaw placed the piece of food nest to his head. He knew he had to eat and he didn't want to disappoint Harepaw. He stairs at the piece of food. He looks at the piece of mouse. He wanted to eat it, he really didn't want to disappoint Harepaw, but maybe if he didn't try she wouldn't be disappointed. He decides to try. He opens his mouth and to his surprise he manages to eat the bite.

Hollowfall's pelt prickled with annoyance as he went over into the warrior dens and laid down, wrapping his tail near himself as he let out an angry huff. He dug his claws into his nest, tearing up small parts of the moss as he thought about what to do. He couldn't train Spottedpaw when she couldn't focus, he couldn't be a good deputy without snapping someone's muzzle off, and he couldn't hide his annoyance as he laid there. Hollowfall let out a grumble before he got up and exited the den, feeling slightly more relaxed as he looked around the camp, his icy gaze scanning over what was happening.

Spottedpaw wakes up from her nice warm nest. Even though it was warm it was still very wet. She quickly grooms her sleep ruffled fur. Maybe I should Stripepaw. She thought he was her half-brother. She walks out of the sort-of dry apprentice den. She sees Hallowfall. Maybe she should ask him to battle train after she visited Stripepaw of course. She walks to the medicine den. It was crowded with cats visiting Swiftstrike. Poor Swiftstrike it must hurt to be struck by lightning. She looks around for Stripepaws nest when she finds it she walks very slowly to see if he is awake or not. "Stripepaw are you awake?"

Stripepaw lifted his head and saw Spottedpaw, his half-sister. "Yeah, I'm awake." He meowed slightly confused. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are you doing here?" He asked not trying to be rude at all. Maybe she just wanted to visit him, Stripepaw thought shifting his position. He licked his paw not really knowing what to do.
