Dawnclan Territory:
Dawnclan's territory is lightly forested, with wider, slow rivers connecting to the two small central lakes. The terrain is moss covered and gently hilly. A sandy area on the edge of a shallow river is their training area, and to the south is the two-leg gathering place where small nests nestle between thin cut trees on the edge of a small lake, which merges into the two-leg town the more south one goes.
The camp is nestled in a dip in the land, with a series of rocks that make shelters for the Leader and Medicine cat dens, as well as the nursery. The rest of the nests are in old burrows, the edge of the camp sheltered with prickly brambles. It is spacious and open, with plenty of places to relax on moss covered stones or tussle in soft grass.
the territory is marked to the east and north by a large, uncrossable river. To the south by the two-leg camp ground, and to the east by their boundary with Duskclan, which is marked most notably by a large spread of rocks along a thin river that eventually turns into Duskclan terrain. It is a spot of much conflict.

Duskclan Territory:
Duskclan's territory lies to the east side of the territories, in thicker forest where mist lingers longer in the mornings, and navigation requires agility and precision. The rivers here are often thinner, but more wild with faster waters in many of the places. Their training area is a clear patch of forest where the ground is soft and a fallen log and tree stumps provide a boundary.
Their camp is nestled up, and along the side of a hill that inclines sharply, with pathways between and going up its walls. The dens nestle close together, with the Leaders den above inside a fallen tree root system, the medicine cat below in the same system. The dens are in a mixture of burrows and makeshift nests in the brush, some nests in the jagged hill walls. Outside the nests they have a spacious area for sharing tongues and meetings, protected by thick foliage and the numerous rocks.
Their territory is marked by a sheer cliff drop to the east, an uncross able river to the north, the two-legs to the south, and their border with Dawnclan.
2000px-Decorative_text_divider.svg.png

 CURRENT EVENTS
Two-legs are in the territory!
Currently due to the nice weather, two-legs have been more prevalent than normal, walking along the paths that trace between both clans.
Though they often leave cats alone, the threat of dogs and scared prey is high.

NEWS

CLUES
Two-legs have taken a Duskclan cat.
Two-leg traps have been found in both clans.
A Dawnclan cat was killed by an unknown source.
A strange new scent has been found all over the territory, its source leading apparently south.
Ravenblaze has seen a Starclan sign in the clouds.
~~
During a storm, Duskclan cats found three bodies, all deceased. Two Dawnclan, one Duskclan.
Dawnclan on the same patrol found a few pawprints, hard to identify but heading what looks like south.
Mothpaw, Ravenblaze, and Hornetpaw have seen signs in the clouds, cats fighting against an unknown darkness.
~~
Two strangers have been found in the territory, one taken by the two-legs another who seems to be nesting near the Cavern on Dawnclan territory.

The traps are discovered to not be for the cats.

Mothpaw | Duskclan | Medicine cat apprentice | 13 Moons old | location: territory | Mentions (D) Blackstar, open (ID) Fleetwhisper, Flamepaw |

Mothpaw nodded respectfully to his leader before speaking. He thought it was strange that the tom had instinctively chosen to speak with Blackstar first, before his mentor Fleetwhisper but it made sense in the end. It was rare that Fleetwhisper talked or explained anything to the apprentice, and when his mentor did open his mouth it was to throw an insult at Mothpaw, or something snarky. "We were low on Chervil so I decided to go get more near where Dawnclan and Duskclan's borders meet." Mothpaw paused for a moment to study his leaders face, though he could not tell if Blackstar was angry with him for leaving alone. But he was nearly a warrior! and shouldn't need a babysitter everywhere he went. And besides... If he had been with warriors, Flamepaw would have been chased off and they never would have been able to hang out like that. "I saw a stranger prowling around our territory, but before I could do anything the intruder raced off." Mothpaw could feel his pelt heat slightly with embarrassment at how he chose to run away instead of confronting the stray. "It didn't look like it belonged to either clan, so I'm assuming they were probably a stray." The apprentice only knew that the cat didn't belong to Dawnclan because of Flamepaw, but it's not like he could just say that.

|Swiftclaw | Dawnclan| warrior | 26 Moons old | location: camp | mentions: (D) Ravenblaze, Hornetpaw open (ID) Cloudburst |

Swiftclaw continued to groom her pelt as Ravenblaze spoke, her tail twitching as his words dragged on. It was difficult for the warrior to hold a conversation this long without lashing out, or simply getting up and walking away. But, she had to admit that the white cat could be amusing sometimes. "A great mentor should be able to teach in any circumstance." Finally finished with her grooming, Swiftclaw glanced up just as Hornetpaw trotted up to the pair. Her green eyes rolled as mentor and apprentice excused themselves to talk in private. She guessed they were discussing Cloudburst fragile state of mind over the death of Mousefur. The she-cat personally thought that the queen was overreacting. Its not like he was that strong anyway. The warrior got to her paws and yawned.

Ravenblaze | Dawnclan Medicine Cat | 25 Moons | White Green-Eyed Tom | Camp |Mentions: Gingerstar(ID), Hornetpaw, Swiftclaw, Open!

Ravenblaze finished up his little meal, leaving nothing behind other than perhaps a few droplets of blood here and there. He licked around his muzzle and started grooming his paws. "I have a feeling everyone agrees on that." He pointed out between licks. After a few more moments grooming his paws, he shifted to grooming his tail. "I'm a bit annoyed I can't take Hornetpaw out, there's only so much you can learn in camp." He admitted, pricking his ears when he heard paw steps approaching. He looked up from his grooming, momentarily forgetting to pull his tongue back into his mouth.

Slowly, he slipped his tongue back where it belonged as he listened to Hornetpaw's suggestion. "Excuse us for a bit." He mewed to Swiftclaw, quickly nosing his apprentice further away from he warrior. He lowered his voice to a whisper to not be heard. "We're not really supposed to go out together, Gingerstar fears if we get attacked we'll both be too hurt to tend to the clan." He explained, clearly annoyed at the decision. Though his expression lit with mischievousness. "But what she doesn't know won't hurt her~" He purred, glancing towards where the leader was. "Besides, we both know how to fight, I'd like to see anyone try to hurt us." He added, confidence in his hushed tone.

Gingerstar | DawnClan Leader | 48 Moons | Mollie | Camp | Ravenblaze; Hornetpaw; Cloudburst; Flamepaw

Gingerstar's multi-hued gaze scanned the camp silently after her delegation of patrols was finished. Her piercing eyes caught sight of Flamepaw sneaking back into camp, and her ears flattened noticeably. She watched the little apprentice sneak over towards the fresh kill pile and start grooming, presumably to get the scent of the outside off of her coat. She was about to leap down and question her when she caught sight of a much more interesting sight-

Ravenblaze moving away from another cat to whisper in Hornetpaw's ear, just after he had walked away from Cloudburst and asked a question with a very excited look on his face. Now that, that was interesting. She knew for a fact that neither medicine cat nor apprentice had been thrilled by her declaration that they were not to venture from camp in one another's company, and she was certain that they were looking for any chance to get themselves into trouble.

Smoothly, she leaped down from the branch, approaching Flamepaw slowly, keeping her gaze trained forwards on the little apprentice. She would listen, and then follow if need be. She disliked the idea of them going out, but the idea of them going out when she wasn't aware was worse, and so if she could be a watchful guardian over them and get it out of their systems... well, that would be the best option they had at this point.

She slipped close to Flamepaw and murmured quickly, "We'll discuss your little excursion in more detail later. For now, talk to me about something nonsensical."

She drew back sitting down to look at Flamepaw intensely. "Tell me about your training, and the progress you've been making," she ordered her, locking eyes with the apprentice. Her gaze said very clearly 'you're in trouble, but not right now', and her tail flicked slowly, impatiently, as she waited for the medicine cats to leave... with or without Cloudburst.
If you ask too many questions, or seek too much approval, nothing ever gets done

Weaselflight | DuskClan Warrior | 21 Moons | Tom | Camp | Redeye; Sootpaw; Owlfeather; Vulturepaw

Weaselflight jumped when Redeye approached him, unaware that the tom had been nearby. His fur fluffed out in surprise, but he quickly smoothed it, embarrassed. He looked across the little ragtag group that they were with a little twisted sense of amusement. Three damaged cats, the deputy, and her apprentice. What a thrilling group. Vulturepaw's stubby little legs were still a bit of a shock to Weaselflight- he had been so worried for awhile that he'd trip over Vulturepaw or something when they were running because he was so short, but up close it wasn't too bad... he hoped at least, that he wouldn't trip over a tom his size. The little harsh-voice that the apprentice carried as well was a little reminiscent of Weaselflight's own stutter, and for that he did his best to be courteous to him. He quickly dipped his head to Redeye, and smiled anxiously.

"T-thank you," he mumbled awkwardly before following Owlfeather out of camp.

He had to admit it- he was a little bit scared of Redeye. The bigger tom wasn't exactly terrifying in build, but those piercing scarlet eyes and his quirks left the littler tom more anxious than usual. He certainly didn't see himself ever standing up against Redeye for any reason. Maybe for Dustpelt, but Dustpelt was... well he was hard to pick a fight with.

He dipped his head quietly to Sootpaw when the young cat ran off to partake in his assessment. It had been difficult for Weaselflight to pass- it took him two attempts to win the fighting portion. He blinked anxiously at the memory and turned towards Owlfeather and Redeye, uncertain of where to go. Should he just... leave? When the others started to disperse, the young tom anxiously rushed off after Redeye and Vulturepaw. He would just stay close to them... maybe help in some training exercises if Redeye wanted him to. He didn't know. He opened his mouth faintly, keeping a respectful distance from the other two cats as he waited for them to choose what to do. He could follow, but right now there was a mouse...

Weaselflight let his nose guide him as he followed the tantalizing scent of mouse, carefully leaping up onto a fallen log and down behind it before dropping into a crouch, his eyes locked on the little grey body he intended to bring back to camp.
Better safe than sorry

Owlfeather|Duskclan|Deputy|36 Moons Old|Siamese She-Cat|Location: |Mention(s) Directly: Vulturepaw, Redeye, Weaselflight|Mention(s) Indirectly: Sootpaw

Owlfeather sat on her branch for a few moments, watching Vulturepaw, Redeye, and Weaselflight, as the cats started to walk after Sootpaw. The deputy jumped from tree to tree, her eyes keeped both on her apprentice and the cats following him on the ground. A purr came to the she-cat, as Sootpaw took down the squirrel. Although the thing had noticed the apprentice, the young tom had still managed to easily catch the prey. As the mentor hopped from tree to tree, unheard by the cats below her, a thought came to her mind. It might also be a good idea to test the apprentices fighting skills, a slightly evil grin came to the she-cats eyes.
As Sootpaw continued on, searching for his next prey, Owlfeather started to climb own her tree. Landing on quiet paws next to Vulture, the deputy slunk her way through the cats and stood in between the warriors. "Weasleflight, would you be up to attacking Sootpaw, when he reaches the River Stones?", the deputy asked. She knew that the ginger and cream tom was a bit jumpy and shy, but he was a good and skilled warrior. Owlfeather also did not feel comfortable asking Redeye for this, the white tom had seemed off lately. Looking through the bushes they were hiding behind, the siamese she-cat watched Sootpaws tail disappear behind some trees.

Flamepaw|Dawnclan|Apprentice|13 Moons Old|Ginger She-Cat|Location: |Mention(s) Directly: Gingerstar|Mention(s) Indirectly: Scorchwing

Flamepaw almost jumped out of her pelt, as Gingerstar suddenly appeared next to the apprentice. Flamepaw's face burned, at the leaders words. The apprentice had been found out, she hoped that at least Mothpaws scent had vanished from her pelt by now. Her face looked down, as Gingerstar asked her strange question. The apprentice looked over at the leader now sitting next to her, 'My training?', Flamepaw thought. The question was starting to form in her mouth, but decided better of it. "My training has been going well", Flamepaw answered, "Scorchwing is a good mentor, just a few days ago she helped me with improving my fish hunting a swimming skills", the ginger tabby she-cat went on too say.
Taking her eyes off the leader, the apprentice noticed Scorchwing close to the nursery. What was her mentor going to think, when she saw Flamepaw next to Gingerstar? Looking down at her paws, the apprentice tries to gauge what else the leader wanted to hear. "I also learned the Jump and Pin", Flamepaw said, her eyes lit up at the memory of her learning the complicated technique. "And I'm also a really fast runner", the apprentice added. Hesitating for a moment, the young she-cat could not help, but add something, "Once, when I was out hunting, I even almost managed to outpace a deer", Flamepaw said, looking back at the leader, to see what her reaction would be.

⇺ [ Hornetpaw ] ⇻
18 Moons • Male • DawnClan • Medicine Cat Apprentice
Location: Camp • Mentions: Cloudburst, Ravenblaze (Directly) / Gingerstar, Flamepaw (Indirectly)

•:•.•:•.•:•:•:•:•:•:•:•☾☼☽•:•.•:•.•:•:•:•:•:•:•:•

“Oh right...I’d nearly forgotten,” Hornetpaw muttered, gaze averting in mingled embarrassment and frustration. He could understand Gingerstar’s reasoning, but that didn’t mean he had to like it. Mousefur’s death was an awful tragedy, one still shrouded in great mystery, but surely so long as he and Ravenblaze were accompanied by a warrior he should be able to continue his training outside the camp? He doubted whoever had murdered the former messenger would attack a group, or at the least, that was what he was forcing himself to believe. There was strength in numbers.

Ravenblaze’s voice dipping into a conspiratorial tone saw the enthusiasm return to his expression. “Do you really think we could get away with it? Gingerstar has eyes like a hawk.” He sought out the leader, spotting her conversing with Flamepaw, the ginger she-cat appearing a tad apprehensive. Wondering whether or not the apprentice was in trouble, he supposed that was as good a distraction as they would receive. “Let’s do it,” he replied, shoving aside any reservations he had over disobeying an order from the Clan leader. “I’ll fetch Cloudburst.”

Padding as discreetly as he could back to the nursery, he poked his head through the entrance. “Ravenblaze agrees some fresh air would be good for all of us. We’re leaving now if you still want to come.”

f2u_divider___mountain_and_trees_by_danisaesthetics-dcadbj4.png

⇺ [ Redeye ] ⇻
36 Moons • Male • DuskClan • Warrior
Location: Outside Camp • Mentions: Vulturepaw, Weaselflight, Owlfeather, Sootpaw (Directly)

•:•.•:•.•:•:•:•:•:•:•:•☾☼☽•:•.•:•.•:•:•:•:•:•:•:•

Redeye trailed Sootpaw from the ground as instructed, remaining far enough behind the young tom and keeping to the thicker foliage of the forest floor to conceal himself. “Pay attention. It will be time for your assessment before you know it,” he advised Vulturepaw. “I want you to go ahead of us on your own. Track Sootpaw without being seen.” He knew with his shorter legs, traveling the forest might prove more difficult for Vulturepaw, with many a gnarled root to trip or climb over. Following another cat as silently and unobtrusively as possible would be good practice.

“Remember, keep an eye out for traps as well. Observe your surrounding properly before setting your paws anywhere,” he added, his tone growing dark, which was likely not all that encouraging to his apprentice. “You’ll be just fine so long as you’re vigilant,” he concluded with forced optimism, his gaze softening. It was important he return to his old ways, at least around Vulturepaw. While his Clanmates’ wariness was nothing new, the fear he had witnessed in Vulturepaw’s eyes upon approaching him earlier bothered the ghostly warrior a great deal. There should be trust between a student and teacher, a bond he would have to rebuild.

He turned his gaze on Wesealflight, sensing the other warrior's discomfort and uncertainty. Noting he had detected prey, Redeye remained quiet until the mouse was either caught or managed to escape. Owlfeather soon reappeared through the trees, requesting Weaselflight attack her apprentice. Redye’s head titled. That should prove interesting. “You won’t want to miss that,” he whispered to Vulturepaw. “Off you go then.”

Blackstar|Leader of Duskclan|One eyed Black Tom|Location: Camp|Mentions: Open

Blackstar listened to Mothpaw speak, his eye narrowing slightly as the tom spoke. His face remained passive, but the tip of his tail twitched in the only sign that the tom was agitated. Despite this however, when Mothpaw finished speaking he did not speak right away, instead choosing to close his eyes take a deep breath in thought.
"What possessed you to go to the border, alone of all things, in a time like this?" His eye opened as he spoke, fixing Mothpaw with an unblinking stare that while not angry, glinted in faint disappointment at the tom.
"As for strangers, did you get a look at them? If you were that close to the border, It was probably a Dawnclan cat. You're lucky they didn't catch you, Dawnclan won't hesitate to claw some fur, Medicine-cat apprentice or not. " Again, his tail lashed, and he took another deep breath.

"I'm glad you came to tell me about this, but I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure the stress of the past few days just had you jumping to conclusions." He rose to his paws, giving his pelt a shake.
"However, I have to ask you do not leave the camp again alone. The territory is uncertain right now, and we cannot afford to lose any more cats." His eye twinkled slightly as he thought, then added,
"And I'll be making sure Fleetwhisper knows this as well."

Cloudburst || 26 moons || Female || Dawnclan Warrior/Queen (4 weeks) || Long white fur with dilute tabby calico marks || polydactyl || Location{Dawnclan camp} || Mentions {directly-Hornetpaw} {indirectly-Gingerstar, Ravenblaze, Mousefur (NPC)}

Cloudburst watched as Hornetpaw left to speak to Ravenblaze, her ears perked, trying to catch any conversation she could- but they were too far. She felt her heart drop when Hornetpaw's enthusiasm left, but before she could even feel bad, she saw the cat coming back, with a mischievous look on his face. "Oh, Ok good!" she smiled, pushing herself off the ground and out of the nest, it was the first time in the past two days she would had left the nursery for longer than a few minutes. Her legs felt stiff, and she had to stretch before moving on. The pale calico followed closely after Hornetpaw as they moved back to join Ravenblaze and leave camp.

Vulturepaw || 10moons || Male || Duskclan apprentice {Mentor Redeye} || short dark brown/black tom with yellow eyes || deformed throat/trachea || Location {Duskclan Camp} || Mentions {directly- Redeye, Weaselflight Owlfeather, Sootpaw} {indirectly- }
Vulturepaw followed as close to his long-legged mentor as possible as they walked through the territory and began to do Sootpaw's assessment. His yellow eyes bright with excitement as he was instructed to follow the older cat. "Yes!- he whistled, "I mean, yes sir." He whispered, quieter now. Without another thought, the black tom began to pick up pace. He followed close behind the apprentice, finding that he could slip under most obstacles rather than clearing them. Vulturepaw had kept good pace for a bit before his lungs and throat began to burn and his head hurt, forcing him to slow to a trot. His breath was heavy and wheezy, but he tried to keep it as quiet as possible as to not alert Sootpaw of his location. He watched from afar as Sootpaw sought out his prey, Vulturepaw was so estatic about this he was shaking partially from lack of oxygen, but mostly from excitement. He would be doing this one day, stalking seemingly alone in the woods o get his warrior name! It was all just so amazing!
Vulturepaw had been drawn out of his own thoughts for a second to realize that Sootpaw was no where in his direct vision, and the rain starting to poor down didn't help. "Mouse dung." he wheezed under his breath before starting on again to find the other apprentice. He hoped he wouldn't miss Sootpaw and Weaselflight sparring!

Sootpaw | Duskclan Apprentice | 13 moons | Small, gray tabby tom | Location: Duskclan Territory(by the lake) >> River Stones | Mentions: Vulturepaw/Cats following assessment(indirect)

Sootpaw had been moving steadily along, secretly trying to remember what ducks smelled like and unaware of the younger apprentice tailing him, when the forest began to grow darker. Sootpaw paused and gazed up at the sky to see the clouds spreading, and at that moment a few raindrops fell on his head. He heard the pitter patter of drops hitting the forest floor all around him, and the apprentice decided to continue towards the lake, quickening his pace. Sootpaw didn't really want to hunt in the rain, so the sooner he could find a blasted duck, the better.
Coming to the edge of the forest, in full view of the lake, it seemed that he was in luck; there were, indeed, a few ducks here. Three in the water, two still on land. As he watched, one of the grounded ducks joined the others in the lake. Sootpaw's ears lay flat. He supposed he should act quickly before the last decided that it wanted to paddle away as well, or else he'd have to swim. He was not doing that.
Sootpaw sprinted, pleading with the rain to disguise his paw steps. He leaped onto the duck's back and bit down on its neck. The bird let out a surprised quack before Sootpaw applied as much pressure with his jaws as he could, and the frantic flapping of its wings buffetted Sootpaw's ears, making him growl in annoyance. This didn't last long, however, and the duck soon lay quite still. Sootpaw let loose his grip and drew back, huffing lightly. Should he take it with him to River Stones? He'd probably just end up dragging it through the dirt -and what may soon be mud-, but he didn't want to leave it out here in the rain. Sootpaw sighed and got a firm hold on the duck, lifting it the best he could. He found that it wasn't as big as he had thought it was in the beginning, but it's wing still grazed the ground as he trudged along towards River Stones, rounding the lake.
Though the rain had just started, Sootpaw was already finding it unpleasant. However, it didn't diminish the pride he felt. He had done it! Now he just had to meet up with the others.

Gingerstar | DawnClan Leader | 48 Moons | Mollie | Camp | Ravenblaze; Hornetpaw; Cloudburst; Flamepaw

Gingerstar inclined her head slightly as Flamepaw spoke, listening closely if only with one half of her brain. She was intent on figuring out when in StarClan's name the medicine cats would be leaving. She had been toying with an idea for the past two days, an idea about Flamepaw. But it was still just an idea, and she had no ways to confirm the ability she or anyone else would have to pull it off. She listened intently as Flamepaw continued, and she finally nodded. "I'll uh... discuss your path with Scorchwing later today."

Her gaze ventured for a moment, and then she locked her gaze back on the apprentice, watching from the corner of her eye as Cloudburst and the two medicine cats made to leave. "Don't you think that this doesn't mean you're not in trouble," she warned, "right now I have more important matters to attend to. Take care to do what your mentor says."

She waited a few minutes longer to assure that Flamepaw went to Scorchwing, and assured that the three she would be following were gone, and then quietly slipped out of camp after them. It took her a few moments to catch their scents, but then she set off, making absolutely certain to stay completely out of sight from them, her paws light against the ground and her body low, keeping towards the edges of the undergrowth. She was moving slowly, given they would have to be as well with Cloudburst's heavily pregnant form on hand, and she kept her eyes and ears open for any possible threats. There was no way that they could have picked a less safe group to explore with.
If you ask too many questions, or seek too much approval, nothing ever gets done

Weaselflight | DuskClan Warrior | 21 Moons | Tom | Camp | Redeye; Sootpaw; Owlfeather; Vulturepaw

Weaselflight's tail fluffed out in sudden alarm when Owlfeather addressed him. He was definitely not used to being addressed by his deputy, and even less so being asked to participate in a warrior assessment like this. He opened his mouth to say something, he didn't know what exactly, maybe protest, but quickly snapped it shut. He waited a moment to collect himself before saying, "I-I'm on i-it." The mouse was gone.

He took off, headed towards the River Stones at a good clip. He wanted to hide in a place where he would have easy access to ambush the apprentice. There needed to be some element of surprise to make this a good assessment. He tucked himself into the reeds, crouched down extra low. His paws were slightly into the water, but he hoped that it would help disguise his scent. He waited there in relative silence until his paws and belly were soggy, and he flicked his ear in irritation. Maybe the water wasn't the best idea after all.

It was then that Sootpaw appeared, now that the rain had begun to cascade down, making little ripples in the water all around him. He crept forwards a few inches, and when Sootpaw's back was turned, lunged. His small lithe body made a loud splashing noise when he leaped, but he landed squarely on the apprentice's back all the same. He wrapped his paws around his shoulders as tightly as he could with no claws, trying to roll them to one side with a fierce lashing motion. His fur was fluffed out, and the rain was making everything slippery- including Sootpaw's coat, so it was a harder time holding on as well.
Better safe than sorry

Umbraclaw|Dawnclaw Deputy|Mollie|Location: Dawnclan Camp|Mentions: Foxpaw, Gingerstar Larkclaw, Scorchwing

Umbraclaw noticed Foxpaw's hackles rise a little and saw that her apprentice was getting annoyed. Not good, as things like annoyance and anger in the middle of battle often led one to making rash mistakes they may not have made had they kept their cool. Foxpaw was already known for being reckless so allowing her emotions to take control over her just made things even worse. So she was just going to have to teach the ginger tabby a lesson the hard way.

As Foxpaw charged at her side, the deputy would hit the floor diagonally so her apprentice's paws would lunge harmlessly over her. Then using her powerful hind legs, she would rocket forward while pulling her ears back aiming to savagely headbutt the spot where side became belly. However regardless of whether her attack hit her target or not, the sound of Gingerstar's yowl would end the spar.

Calmly getting up, she would wait for Foxpaw to do the same if need be before heading to the meeting. She intended to have words with the small tabby, but that could wait until after the meeting. During the meeting, she would watch as several of the cats were assigned duties, but was left unassigned herself. That meant that she was free to decide how she could best serve her clan. She considered joining Scorchwing and Larkclaw, but then her impertinent apprentice gave her a different priority...

Without warning, she would suddenly cuff the smaller cat across the face with her right paw. While not as hard of a hit as she was capable of, it was still hard enough to make a point which naturally meant that her claws had been sheathed as well. Giving her a death glare to ward off any back talk, she would start to lecture Foxpaw.

"That was for your impertinence and attempt to challenge me. Speaking again without permission will earn you another one. Now then, you do not need your claws to learn how to "really" fight. Even when your claws are sheathed during a spar, you still practice positioning, tactics, reading your opponent, dodging as well as develop your own fighting style. Not to mention learning how to keep calm under pressure in addition to the the further benefits of exercising and strengthening your muscles. None of these things require having your claws out in order to learn them. Now tell me, do you wish to learn how to climb Foxpaw?"

Assuming she answered affirmatively, she would reply with. "Well then let me tell you something, keep acting the way you are now and I will never teach you. You do not need to learn how to climb in order to become a warrior so it is entirely within my discretion whether to teach you or not. Climbing requires a calm and cautious mind as one mistake could lead to a fall which could lead to injury or worse. As you are now, I cannot trust you to treat climbing with the care it deserves and I will not be indirectly responsible for you having a desvating fall because you decided to do something stupid while in a tree! If you want me to teach you, then you must prove to me that I can trust you will be smart about it. I know you are a smart cat, but your letting your impudence and your foolhardy behavior get in the way of that. Do you understand me Foxpaw?"

Once again assuming she answered in the affirmative Umbraclaw would reply with. "Very well, now as for that patrol. Perhaps if you ask me properly this time, I'll consider it."

The deputy did intend to join the patrol with Foxpaw, but only if her apprentice could give her the respect she deserved as her mentor.

((Sorry for all the assumes, but I was hoping I could avoid keeping Zesha and Ladyseer from having to wait on us by doing so. Also Foxpaw didn't completely miss with her first attack, she just got her leg instead of her belly.))

Sootpaw | Duskclan Apprentice | 13 moons | Small, gray tabby tom | Location: River Stones | Mentions: Owlfeather/Cats watching assessment(indirect), Weaselflight(direct)

Arriving at River Stones, Sootpaw stopped in confusion. Where were Owlfeather and the others? He turned, looking back into the forest. Were they behind him, just arriving at the stones themselves? That didn't make much sense. Sootpaw's brow was furrowed in thought when a weight crashed down onto his back. Sootpaw dropped his prey and yowled in surprise and fear. What's happening?! Had a Dawnclan cat been hiding amongst the stones, the scent already washed away by the rain? Were they trying to take his duck?
The assailant rolled onto their side, taking Sootpaw with them. The gray apprentice kicked at the ground in an attempt to both jerk out of the other cat's hold and also to try and get some small gap between them. Luckily, the act caused Sootpaw to slip from his opponent's paws. At least the rain was good for something, he thought, failing to notice that the cat hadn't used their claws to get a firmer (and more painful) hold on him.
Sootpaw quickly rolled over, claws outstretched to meet his attacker when he found himself facing a familiar face. "Weaselflight?!"

Sootpaw hesitated, and rather than attacking the tom, he stood back up and stared at him incredulously. Why would Weaselflight, a cat that was usually so reserved, suddenly pick a fight with him? Had he somehow mistaken Sootpaw for an intruder? Sootpaw stood frozen, too shocked and unsure to do anything more.

Owlfeather|Duskclan|Deputy|36 Moons Old|Siamese She-Cat|Location: Territory - River Rocks|Mention(s) Directly: Redeye, Weasleflight, Sootpaw, Vulturepaw|Mention(s) Indirectly:

Owlfeather nodded her head to Weaselflight, as the warrior agreed to go. The deputy watched as the warrior headed off, to meet Sootpaw at the River Stones. The she-cat also noticed that Vulturepaw had run off, to follow Sootpaw directly. The she-cat sat down for a moment, the deputy hoped that her apprentice would be able to find a duck. Owlfeather was quite aware, that the young tom was not a fan of hunting fish. The siamese she-cat was just thinking through what it would be like, when she suddenly did not have an apprentice any more. Owlfeather had no doubt that Sootpaw would pass his assessment.
The she-cat flinched a bit, as a large water drop landed on the bridge of her nose. Turning her face up, the siamese she-cat peared through the branches above her head. The sky had grown darker and darker, the deputy let a growl slip out. She was not keen on having so many cats out and about, when it looked like a storm might be coming. Getting to her paws, the she-cat shook out her coat. "Let's go", she told Redeye, heading off to led the way to the River Stones.
As she reached the fringes of the River Stones, the deputy could already hear the surprised cry of Sootpaw. Quickening her stepps, the deputy soon made it to the River Stones. Deftly jumping onto one of the larger rocks, the deputy watched the scene below. Laying down on the rock, Owlfeather was hidden from view by a large branch hanging down over the out cropping. The mentors claws scratched into the rock, as she watched the fight.

Flamepaw|Dawnclan|Apprentice|13 Moons Old|Ginger She-Cat|Location: Camp|Mention(s) Directly: Gigerstar, Scorchwing|Mention(s) Indirectly:

The young ginger she-cat nodded her head in understanding, but her eyes still had questions behind them. What would the leader be discussing with her mentor? Flamepaw had a sinking feeling that she might not like it though. Flamepaw had broken a few rules now and then, but not more than any other apprentices. Would she be not aloud to become a warrior? Shaking her head slightly, to break out of these thoughts, another thought came to her. Maybe she would be made a warrior ahead of her becoming 15 moons? No, definitely not.
Flamepaw shrank together a bit, as the leader said that the apprentice was still going to be in trouble. Getting to her paws, the apprentice dipped her head in respect to the leader and headed off in the direction of her mentor. As she got closer to Scorchwing, the ginger apprentice slowed down. Looking over her shoulder, the apprentice watched Gingerstar heading out of camp on her own. Flamepaw let out a huff. Walking forward, the young ginger tabby she-cat reached her mentors side. Not really knowing what to say, Flamepaw only nodded her head to Scorchwing.

Events

Event for, Those at the River Rocks

When things calm down, the cats may realize its oddly quiet in the forest.
The rain is making scenting difficult, but if one were to look closer at the large stones, they might notice red staining the rock, trickling down into the earth now that the rain has picked up. At the tip of the rocks, one shape lies, difficult to see. Pawprints lead throuh the mud. To the river edge below and to behind the rocks, but they are chaotic and difficult to distinguish, the rest of the sight hidden by the light edge of the riverbank, and the stones.
(Dusk clan will recognize Cherrysong as the fiure on the rocks easily. Searching may discover more clues.)

Vulturepaw || 10moons || Male || Duskclan apprentice {Mentor Redeye} || short dark brown/black tom with yellow eyes || deformed throat/trachea || Location {Duskclan Camp} || Mentions {directly- Cherrysong (NPC), Sootpaw, Owlfeather, Redeye, Weaselflight} {indirectly- }

The dark apprentice grumbled to himself as he trudged through the woods, "I probably missed the fight... Mousebrained, that's what I am- can't even tail an apprentice right!" He growled, His paws and belly were beginning to cake with mud, only worsening the mood. He had lost track of Sootpaw not too far back, but with how fast moving the older apprentice was, and with the rain beginning to slow Vulturesong down, He was positive that he was far behind- and somewhat lost. At this realization, Vulturesong stopped and scoped out his surroundings, "Where did they say to meet up at again...." he paused in thought, "Oh yeah, River rocks." The little tom said to himself, he picked up pace- speeding to a full on sprint like he had before loosing sootpaw. Maybe I can make it to the fight! he thought, pushing himself not to stop.
Vulturepaw slowed to a stop right on the edge of the border, looking through the brush out to he river rocks. He squinted and craned his neck to see if he could see the other cats yet. It was hard to see over the larger stones, but upon propping himself up on his hind legs, he thought he could see a patch of fur hiding among the rocks, he couldn't see enough to tell who it was, and the rain had beat down the scents in the forest around him. So he crept up to the cat, assuming it could be Weaselflight waiting to attack sootpaw.
It wasn't until he was a few tail-lengths away that he realized that it wasn't one of the cats he had gone on patrol with. It was Cherrysong, she looked hurt! Vulturepaw warily walked towards the feline, "Cherrysong?" he whispered, "Are you okay?" As soon as the words left his mouth, he could feel his heart stop, and his blood ran cold. There were red stains- everywhere in the vicinity- and the other cat wasn't breathing. His eyes grew wide with shock and his breathing grew rapid. He had just discovered a dead body. Vulturepaw didn't know what to do, he was frozen and he felt nauseous.
Without really thinking, Vulturesong's feet began to take him away from the scene. He began running, not paying attention to his path. He tripped over a few rocks, but got right back up again, eventually shooting right past Sootpaw and Weaselflight, almost out of River rocks. The only thing that stopped him from running straight back to camp was Redeye, whom he ran face first into. Without hesitation he began to speak, albeit quite hysterical and incoherent "I was following- and got lost, I- I was gonna meet you guys! Ch-Cherrysong- I don't know- I'm scared can we please go back to camp?!" he began to cry, huddling up to his mentor like a kit, scared that something would get him just like it did with Cherrysong.

Weaselflight | DuskClan Warrior | 21 Moons | Tom | Camp | Redeye; Sootpaw; Owlfeather; Vulturepaw; Cherrysong [NPC]; Harepaw and Dustpelt [ID]

When Sootpaw tumbled sideways, Weaselflight was wrenched off of him, and he rolled across the muddy ground, bouncing back onto his paws as quickly as he could. He was a very smooth cat, very hyper-aware of his body, and that oftentimes made him a bigger opponent than he appeared. He quickly tucked down into a crouch, and nodded briskly at Sootpaw. "Y-you've gotta show proficiency in battle," he did his best to explain quickly, his belly dripping water from the rain that was slowly but steadily soaking his entire coat. With that said, he sprang at the little tom again, paws outstretched.

They exchanged a few moves and hard taps, Sootpaw definitely holding his own against Weaselflight, when he caught a sight of a flash of something strangely thick and differently colored than the rest of the stones, running down alongside the runoff from the storm. Vulturepaw came streaking out from the reeds with massive pupils and a horrified look. Weaselflight opened his mouth to yell at Sootpaw over the growing sound of the storm. "Hold up!"

He approached the thick liquid, realizing as he approached that it was red. With a sinking feeling in his stomach, his fur began to rise despite the rain. His own pupils dilated wide, and he opened his mouth, taken aback by the thick scent of death, even despite the rain. He leaped up onto the rock, his paws splashing the dark red everywhere and flecking it up his legs. He pushed closer, gagging slightly at the sight that awaited him. Cherrysong's body was sprawled out on one side, her once beautiful coat marred by scarlet, her jaws stretched wide. Blood seemed to spill from everywhere and nowhere at once, and the little tom pressed one paw to her chest, checking for a pulse, or at least breath. There was nothing, she was completely empty.

He turned, doing his best to block Sootpaw's view. "B-b-b-bring Owlf-feather!" he cried out as loud as he could, "We need her n-now! NOW!" His heart was racing, and he could feel his eyes aching as he recalled that Cherrysong was Dustpelt's apprentice, Harepaw's, last living parent. The young female was going to be an orphan now. It stuck him violently in the chest to imagine that. He had never met his father, but Darkpaw's bringing him to DuskClan had effectively cut them off from all other family, and yet he knew his mother was still here and Harepaw's wouldn't be. He flattened his ears, swinging back around to the scene. He could see pawprints, here and there... everywhere really. He couldn't get a good idea of where they had started or where they ended. His breathing was quickening, and he turned back to Cherrysong's body after he was absolutely certain that Sootpaw had gone to fetch his mentor. He shivered. The rain suddenly felt colder, harder against his skin. Everything felt colder.
Better safe than sorry
