Dawnclan Territory:
Dawnclan's territory is lightly forested, with wider, slow rivers connecting to the two small central lakes. The terrain is moss covered and gently hilly. A sandy area on the edge of a shallow river is their training area, and to the south is the two-leg gathering place where small nests nestle between thin cut trees on the edge of a small lake, which merges into the two-leg town the more south one goes.
The camp is nestled in a dip in the land, with a series of rocks that make shelters for the Leader and Medicine cat dens, as well as the nursery. The rest of the nests are in old burrows, the edge of the camp sheltered with prickly brambles. It is spacious and open, with plenty of places to relax on moss covered stones or tussle in soft grass.
the territory is marked to the east and north by a large, uncrossable river. To the south by the two-leg camp ground, and to the east by their boundary with Duskclan, which is marked most notably by a large spread of rocks along a thin river that eventually turns into Duskclan terrain. It is a spot of much conflict.

Duskclan Territory:
Duskclan's territory lies to the east side of the territories, in thicker forest where mist lingers longer in the mornings, and navigation requires agility and precision. The rivers here are often thinner, but more wild with faster waters in many of the places. Their training area is a clear patch of forest where the ground is soft and a fallen log and tree stumps provide a boundary.
Their camp is nestled up, and along the side of a hill that inclines sharply, with pathways between and going up its walls. The dens nestle close together, with the Leaders den above inside a fallen tree root system, the medicine cat below in the same system. The dens are in a mixture of burrows and makeshift nests in the brush, some nests in the jagged hill walls. Outside the nests they have a spacious area for sharing tongues and meetings, protected by thick foliage and the numerous rocks.
Their territory is marked by a sheer cliff drop to the east, an uncross able river to the north, the two-legs to the south, and their border with Dawnclan.

 CURRENT EVENTS
Two-legs are in the territory!
Currently due to the nice weather, two-legs have been more prevalent than normal, walking along the paths that trace between both clans.
Though they often leave cats alone, the threat of dogs and scared prey is high.

NEWS

Bluepaw|DawnClan Apprentice|Blue She-cat| Camp|Mentions: Lightsong, Flamepaw, Foxpaw, Gingerstar (ID)
_______
Bluepaw observed the clan from a small distance. She listened to Gingerstar yell, the everyone calm done. She sighed, moving over to help Lightsong.
“This is so horrible,” she said softly, her eyes brimming with tears.

So many lost cats! All for what? Bluepaw couldn’t wrap her mind around what had happened. She wanted to do something, but what could she do? Bluepaw looked at the grieving family of Flamepaw, Lightsong and Foxpaw. She looked done at their mother.
“Do you need any help?”

Flamepaw|Dawnclan|Apprentice|13 Moons Old|Ginger She-Cat|Location: Camp - Medicine cat den|Mention(s) Directly: Larkclaw, Lightsong, Gingerstar, Bluepaw|Mention(s) Indirectly: Hornetpaw, Ravenblaze, Redkit, Slatekit, Mintkit

Flamepaw walked beside Larkclaw, her mothers left leg resting on the young she-cats back, as they entered camp. Her normally beautiful blue eyes, where clouded in grief, but still no tears had come. As the she-cat saw Lightsong coming up to them, her face cast down. She did not say a word, what could she say? Flamepaws claws dug into the wet dirt, as Lightsong cried out. Her face was still down cast, when Gingerstar scolded her brother for his behavior. The she-cat did not really feel anything, even though she was now looking up and listening to Gingerstars words and orders. 'New messenger?', Flamepaw thought, there was no emotion in her thoughts.
'Last time, sharing tongues?', the words bounced around in the she-cats brain, not really sticking. Looking down at her mother's lifeless body, Flamepaw wondered where her father was. He should be here, with them. Flamepaw twitched together a bit, as Lightsongs tail touched her back. The young ginger tabby she-cat leaned in, as her brother embarrassed them both. It felt nice and warm, for a few heartbeats, Flamepaw closed her eyes. Lightsongs words only angered Flamepaw, her brothers believes was one of the few things the she hated about him. She knew that Sunspots was now with StarClan, along with Redkit, Satekit, and Mintkit. Still, hearing her brothers words, only dried her throat.
Flamepaw looked up, as Bluepaw came over and asked if they needed help. Flamepaw shook her head and stepped passed the apprentice. Leaving her brothers side, she immediately felt coldness creep into her wet frame. Reaching the medicine cat den, Flamepaw walked inside. She was not looking forward to have to bury her mother, but instead just wanted a dry place. The young ginger she-cats frame seemed to fall into itself, as she sat down. Her long and thick fur was dripping wet and hinging from her frame. Flamepaw was also shaking now, both from shock and the cold.

Mothpaw | Duskclan | Medicine cat apprentice | 13 Moons old | location: territory | Mentions (D) open (ID) Blackstar, Flamepaw |

Mothpaw jumped to his paws as the sound of Blackstars voice reached his ears. He was happy his leader was back back but, something about the black tom seemed off. The apprentice couldnt put his paw on it though. Sighing, Mothpaw trotted outside of his den and listened alone. He couldn't help but take notice that his mentor Fleetwhisper was not beside him. The toms eyes filled with sadness at the mwntion of cherryshadows death. Harepaw must be devastated, he thought glancing her way. His heart began to pound when Blackstar told the clan about an encounter with Dawnclan cats, and for a moment he was worried Flamepaw might have gotten hurt. But his worries were quickly put to rest.
Mothpaw purred lightly at his leads comforting words, he always knew exactly what to say too comfort someone. And as the meeting came to a close, the apprentice got to his paws and padded over to Blackstar, anxious to tell him about the vision he had earlier. "Blackstar, may I talk to you in private please." He mewed, glancing sadly towards Cherryshadows body. They might now have been close but she was an amazing warrior with a kind heart. Theese were indeed sad times for their clan.

News/Event for Anyone
The Road so far….
It has been two days since the events at the River Rocks. The rain continued on and off for a better part of the first day, the rivers swelling and the territory growing quite swampy, more-so in Duskclan.
While the days are tense, events go on as normal. Many seem to have grown tired in the last two days, from Blackstar who never seems to sleep, to Owlfeather who seems to be quietly harboring a small cold. Even cats who seem to be getting better, like Redeye and his returning personality, are hiding secrets of concern and the desire to investigate beyond the camp.
Some cats are still treading quietly around those most effected by the death of Cherrysong, with Sootpaw and Vulturepaw unsure how to relate to their den-mate Harepaw. Redeye, ever the quick study however mad ehis temporary nest in the Apprentice den, easing some of the tension with the awkwardness of having a warrior in their space.
All cats are keeping busy, as if the lack of rest will perhaps lead them to any sort of idea on how to go on.

Notable events:

As Harepaw sleeps, she dreams that she is running through the forest, the same sensation as when she ran with Dustpelt. This time, a silvery, unknown cat runs to her right, flickering like a dapple of sunlight, and on the breeze she can smell the familiar scent of Cherrysong. It bring a peaceful sensation, like one would have remembering being a kitten. When she wakes, an eagle feather has made its way into her nest.

Weaselflight, in his paranoia at some point remembers that, back in his Kitty-pet days, that odd scent they had notice in the territory, had occasionally drifted over their fence, carried from a distance but noticeable enough. It was a scent cats avoided, as the place had many stories about it, though none are really remembered.

Redeye, if pondering the traps may realize they are far bigger than the ones he’s seen for normal cats. He would also note that the two-leg scent is always strong around them, as if they’re being checked daily.

png-divider-lines-elegant-flourish-floral-decorative-680.png

The road so far, Dawnclan…
The loss of so many has darkened many of the cats in Dawnclan, and it has put a damper on the clan. If cats arn’t working, they’re usually discussing in low tone the events at the Rocks, and the possible causes. From mutterings of Duskclan, to the unknown there is a sense of uncertainty in the usually decisive cats.
The cats who have lost have coped in their own ways, from Lightsong and Scorchwings need to keep their paws busy to Foxpaws icy silence, and Flamepaws reserved detatchment. Even still, they are a reminder of why the rules have grown so stern.
Otherwise, the clan continues onward, knowing that they have faced the difficult before.

Notable Events:

Umbraclaw has been leading many of the patrols, and due to this has notice a surplus of pawprints, especially in the south. The strange scent has returned as well now that is is drier, almost like scent markers.

And so the Adventure continues....

(Don't worry if you didn't get a time skip event! Some were just little things to help give little clues. Feel free to post your cats more specific two-day info if you want!)

Blackstar|Leader of Duskclan|One eyed Black Tom|Location: Camp|Mentions: Mothpaw, Open

The camp was finally dry; a small detail Blackstar noticed as he padded across its paths, the dust of a ground where many paws had laid before kicking up slightly with sweep of his feet. His ears swiveled upwards, it was a cloudy day, the grey having finally broken to patchy sunlight. All in all, a perfect Green-leaf morning. So, it was a bit disheartening to see the camp still tense, cats who lay basking still with alert ears and nervous twitches of the tail. Yet there was no changing it, only closure on the past few days would put minds at ease.

Passively, Blackstar contemplated his days tasks. He knew he needed to speak with Owlfeather, both about his deputies opinions on what best to do about the situation at hand, but also to speak about her apprentice. It was perhaps high time they had some good news in the camp. He also needed to speak with Mothpaw, knowing the young cat had been working hard to treat both injuries of the body and heart. Blackstar felt his paws angle towards the medicine-cat den, almost forgetting that it would not be Fleetwhispers fur he first saw bustling about, but instead Mothpaw, working diligently as possible in his mentors absence. Peering into its shallow depths, Blackstar called out.

"Mothpaw? Can I speak with you, if you're not busy." After the events at the River Rocks, the young cat had come to Blackstar talking of omens in the sky. In the moment, Blackstar had put the news into the back of his mind, for as much as he valued the odd visions and connections medicine-cats had, the physical world had more pressing matters. Now however, he wanted to show the young apprentice he valued his experience, and the effort he was putting into the camp. Blackstar was proud of Fleetwhisper to have mentored such a loyal apprentice.
"Its about this, omen you saw. I was hoping you could run it past me again, and perhaps your thoughts on the matter." His tone was soft so no wandering ears could listen. The last thing the clan needed was a panic about Starclan omens.

Dustpelt|Warrior of Duskclan|Leggy Calico Tom|Location: Duskclan Camp|Mentions: [id] Weaselflight, Redeye. Harepaw, Open

Dustpelt lay sprawled in the warriors den, a forepaw stretched in one direction, a leg in another. Since Redeye had moved into the apprentice den, he had slowly started extending into the white warriors usual nest, as well as his own, and Weaselflights. It seemed as if the den was half Dustpelt when he slept. Giving a twitch, he could feel the suns rays breaking through the dens protection, and he gave a groan.
"Ugh, its Green-leaf. Let a cat sleep in." His grumble was to no one in particular, as his gaze was still scrunched closed even as he flopped onto his side, limbs pulling in so he could begin to extract himself from the moss and feathers.
"You wanted this Dustpelt, you chose this life." He continued to grumble under his breath, eyes blinking open only as he nudged his way from the warriors den, to inhale the fresh air of the camp. The breeze was rejuvenating, and with a shake Dustpelt put some energy into his limbs. He did a quick scan of the camp, looking for Owlfeather. He figured he could do a morning patrol or hunt, the tom always eager to stretch his legs once he first got up and about. Curiously, he looked for Harepaw and Weaselflight, but didn't notice either at first glance. Yet, the morning was still early and so he instead padded his way to the fresh-kill pile, not paying much attention to what he plucked as he tucked into a meal, keeping his mind only on the nice weather, and the calmness of the days start.

Foxpaw|Apprentice of Dawnclan|Small Ginger Tabby She-cat|Location: Dawnclan camp|Mentions: [id] Umbraclaw, Flamepaw, Lightsong, [d] Hornetpaw, Ravenblaze

If one would have merely glanced across the shady corner of the camp, they might almost have missed the small cat crouched in the shadow of a fern. As it were, Foxpaw was grateful for the inconspicuous resting spot. For the past two days, she had been put on elder duty, and her paws had the scent of herbs and moss from her time carrying bedding and mouse bile back and forth, the wetness of the previous night only enhancing the earthy scent. Before, she would have complained rather loudly about the work, how it was taking away valuable time from her training. Lately however, she had suffered her in camp work in a frosty silence.

Her usual fiery coat was dull and streaked with old mud, but she made little attempt to groom it herself, and had nearly clawed Flamepaw and Lightsong when her siblings had tried to share tongues, choosing to flinch away with her usual glower. For some reason, this seemed to make some of her clan mates try and get closer to talk to her, and Foxpaw had noticed Hornetpaw appearing with a rather annoying persistence, making idle conversation every time she had come into the medicine-cat den with a request. Umbraclaw, on the other hand seemed to be going out of her way to avoid Foxpaw, something she figured was just another part of her punishment for acting out. At this thought, she couldn't help but emit a faint sigh of frustration, her forehead pressing against the earth for a moment.
Her tail lashed where she lay, hitting the foliage with a rustle. She felt as if there was a fire burning inside her, and nothing could stop it. Her claws dug into the earth as her muscles tensed and un-tensed, as if that would work out the prickling in her skin.

After a moment, her head jerked back up and she rose to her paws, tail low and twitching as she padded back towards the apprentice den. As she padded past the elders where they lay in a patch of sunlight however, she heard Badgertail yowl to catch her attention.
"Oy. Do us a favor, bring me and Rabbitnose a nice mouse would you? And some herbs for my joints. That rainfall was no good. Maybe bring some prey to Ravenblaze and Hornetpaw. Starclan knows those two will be busy. I feel it in my bones." She nodded smartly, as Rabbitnose scoffed, muttering something about her 'bones' being a load of fox droppings.
Foxpaw nodded, angling her path to pass by the fresh-kill pile. The wet conditions caused much of it to be muddy, and she poked a few pieced half-heartedly to find an acceptable mouse, and lark. Gripping the prey she walked awkwardly towards the medicine-cat den, the birds feathers causing her muzzle to curl. As she neared the mouth of the den she spat out the prey, narrowed gaze peering in through the lichen that hung low at its entrance.
"Prey. And Badgertail needs herbs." Her mew was flat, and slightly raspy as she leaned back, avoiding entering the den but close enough to see in, and hear the movement within.

⇺ [ Hornetpaw ] ⇻
18 Moons • Male • DawnClan • Medicine Cat Apprentice
Location: Camp • Mentions: Foxpaw (Direct) / Ravenblaze (Indirect)

Hornetpaw sometimes pondered how different life would be if he had accepted his grandmother’s offer to take him to her old housefolk, living a life of luxury. No fear, no death. In the past, it had only been a passing thought when life got difficult, quickly forgotten, but after recent events he found himself thinking about it more often. The notion brought shame with it. How could he even consider betraying his Clanmates by entertaining such daydreams? Even now, as he sorted herbs into various piles at Raveblaze’s request, his mind slipped to the image of a gentle hand stroking his fur while he lay curled peacefully upon a Twoleg lap.

Shortly after starting his warrior apprenticeship he’d been caught off guard by a Twoleg kit, snatched off the ground before he could so much as protest. Once the initial shock had faded, he found the sensation of being carried and petted wasn’t all that unpleasant. He’d felt almost safe in the young female’s arms as she cuddled and cooed at him, only the sharp tone of his mentor urging him to squirm out of her grip and escape. Had she not been there? Hornetpaw wasn’t sure he would have struggled at all, and that thought troubled him. Was it in his blood to desire Twoleg company? Was it only a matter of time? Surely not...Goldenfur, raised as a kittypet, had died defending the Clan in battle. Never once had she considered returning after earning her place. Perhaps it was just him then. ’Am I that weak?’

Foxpaw’s voice startled him from his thoughts, jumping a little as he turned to see her ginger face peering through the entrance, offering prey and relaying the elders’ request for herbs. “I’m on it, thanks,” he replied, pawing the mouse and bird to the center of the den, but otherwise leaving it untouched and allowing Ravenblaze first pick as he plucked a few daisy leaves from the neatly stacked piles at his paws, moving to exit the den. He glanced over Foxpaw once outside, hesitating before continuing on his way. He hadn’t checked on her yet this morning, and though the other apprentice had made it clear she wasn’t overly fond of his visits it felt like a necessary part of his day.

Deciding perhaps it could wait for a little while longer, he merely nodded to Foxpaw before trotting toward the waiting elders. After delivering and administering treatment, his paws led him back to the red-furred molly. “How are you this morning?” He asked casually, tone light, even knowing Foxpaw could see right through his attempts at small talk. “Seems like the rain has finally stopped. Was beginning to think we might grow gills and fins if it kept up much longer.”

⇺ [ Falconstrike] ⇻
30 Moons • Male • DawnClan • Warrior
Location: Camp • Mentions: Gingerstar, Umbraclaw (Indirectly)

Falconstrike rolled out of his nest nearly the moment dawn’s first rays touched the treetops, pale streaks of light dappling the camp floor. The irritation he felt over being denied his requested post as a guard the night prior melted upon the realization it had been for the best. Falconstike had sat vigil the first night the guard was established as well as the following. He was well intentioned of course, but denying himself rest would put both himself and his Clan at risk.

He selected a patch of sunlight to bask in as he waited for Gingerstar or Umbraclaw to make an appearance, eager for the chance to accompany a patrol and make amends for his tetchy demeanor over the past two days. Everyone was feeling a bit tense and uptight, for a good reason no doubt, but even he would admit he’d been more snappish lately than necessary. If anyone had a right to be so temperamental, it was the cats who actually lost someone.

Falconstrike was extraordinarily lucky in his mind. He was already alone, the last remnant of his kin. He’d felt the harsh sting of loss moons ago and had no cat left to mourn, but could certainly empathize with his Clanmates. He gave them space to grieve, remembering when he lost his own parents the last thing he’d wanted was other cats fawning over him or attempting to offer awkward attempts at consoling him. Whenever he gazed upon or spoke to them, however, there was admittedly a surprising gentleness, a trait not quite common for the ordinarily intense tom.

•:•.•:•.•:•:•:•:•:•:•:•☾☼☽•:•.•:•.•:•:•:•:•:•:•:•

⇺ [ Redeye ] ⇻
36 Moons • Male • DuskClan • Warrior
Location: Camp • Mentions: Blackstar, Mothpaw (Direct) / Owlfeather, Vulturepw, Harepaw (Indirect)

Redeye had grown used to the moist air and drenched foliage as he prowled through the forest, to the point it seemed almost unordinary not to feel droplets of rain dampening his pelt as he brushed through ferns or padded beneath a break in the canopy. The events of two days prior were still fresh and raw for many of his Clanmates, but Redeye’s formerly erratic behavior appeared to have all but vanished, his strange antics subdued yet present. The white tom had something new to occupy his attention now, a fervent desire to protect his new family from whatever lingered in the shadows motivating him to sneak from camp at any given opportunity, searching every inch of their territory for potential dangers.

Stealth was where Redeye excelled, rolling himself into puddles of mud, of which there were plenty until his snowy coat was thoroughly painted an earthy brown that matched his surroundings, slapping on a few fallen leaves and blades of grass plucked from nearby clearings to further complete the look. A ridiculous disguise no doubt, but effective. In the mornings early hours he’d sensed an opening, Blackstar still in his nest and Owlfeather preoccupied with her cold, few cats yet to even wake. He disentangled himself from Vulturepaw and Harepaw, the two apprentices who’s nests he'd wedged himself between every night, alternating between whom his tail curled around and who was wrapped between his front legs, without waking the young cats before sprinting quietly into the woods, skillfully avoiding the notice of the night’s guards.

Two days of this and he had found nothing. It was frustrating, but he couldn’t stop, despite how terribly tired he felt every waking moment, even his bones ached. A lack of commitment would result in horrible consequences. Just like last time… He couldn’t repeat past mistakes. Not here. Not with this Clan. A flash of silver was caught out of the corner of one eye, causing him to change direction and creep toward what he expected to be the very object of his disdain, his assumptions soon proving correct. Another trap. His lip curled in disgust, glaring at the Twoleg contraption, “This all started with you,” he growled accusingly. “What do your masters want with us?” He risked approaching the cage, far closer than he dared what felt like ages ago now.

Time seemed to tick by slowly, scanning the trap for any indication of why it was here when something came to mind, a memory he had long wished to forget. A black and white tom caught inside, clawing at the wired sides, yowling helplessly. He couldn’t do anything, hard as he tried, his claws and teeth weren’t sharp enough to cut through metal. When the Twolegs arrived, he could only flee and watch as they took Domino away forever. Never to be seen again. His fate unknown. The reminder caused his head and tail to droop, engulfed by a familiar sadness.

Something about that memory stood out as it played over and over. The trap...the trap! This one was bigger. Much bigger than the ones used in the city for cats. He circled it to ascertain his eyes weren’t playing tricks on him, new energy lending strength to his tired limbs as he pivoted toward camp, paying no thought to the fact he should not have strayed from camp alone in the first place. He burst into the clearing, forgoing caution and following Blackstar’s scent into the medicine cat’s den, skidding to a halt inside, paying just as little mind to Mothpaw’s presence. “Blackstar!” He called, voice buzzing with excitement. “They’re not for us!” He ran in a circle, as if he could barely contain himself. “The traps aren’t for us! I was wrong! The Twolegs don’t want us, they’re here for something else, I’m sure of it!”

Sootpaw | Duskclan Apprentice | 13 moons | Small, gray tabby tom | Location: Duskclan Camp | Mentions: (Direct) Redeye (Indirect) Harepaw, Vulturepaw, Redeye

The past couple of days had, unfortunately and for the most part, gone as predicted. Sootpaw had a hard time trying to ignore the prickling tension that has been enveloping the apprentice den whenever Harepaw entered, not that she said anything to him to indicate that she held anything against him. In fact, it seemed that she wasn't speaking to him at all. Sootpaw noticed that, even if she were on speaking terms with him, he rarely saw her long enough to have a conversation. Although this bothered him a bit, Sootpaw decided that the best course of action was to just leave Harepaw be. Sootpaw allowed himself to be hopeful that, in time, things would be relatively back to normal.
While waiting for that time, however, Sootpaw had to sit through the palpable discomfort back in the den. That is, until Redeye invited himself in. The warrior whose odd personality and appearance always made Sootpaw uneasy had actually offered a welcome change in atmosphere. It was a little awkward, for sure, but it was better than what they had on their own. Besides, Redeye seemed to be of some comfort to the other two apprentices, so Sootpaw supposed a little strangeness was worth it.

The gray apprentice tucked himself further into his nest, relishing in the warmth of it. His gut told him that it was still early, and he wanted to enjoy this idle comfort while he could. Eyes still closed, Sootpaw gave a small contented sigh as he drowsily listened to the gentle sound of muffled activity outside the den. His eyes then snapped open at the not-so-gentle sounds of shouts, and he shot up in an instant. Bits of his bedding went flying as he rushed out into the daylight, a mix of confusion and alarm shooting through him. Outside, there seemed to be few cats up and about, and the only one shouting was Redeye. Sootpaw stared in confusion from where he stood. It didn't look like there was anything wrong going on inside the camp, and now that Sootpaw listened, Redeye's shouts sounded excited. Ugh.
Sootpaw relaxed and sat down, annoyance creeping up his messy pelt. It was great that someone had something to be happy about, but why did Redeye have to be so loud about it? He hadn't even heard the odd tom leave the den this morning. Sootpaw began to pick bedding from his fur and smoothing down any upright tufts. No sense going back to rest now, so he might as well get his morning started.

Foxpaw|Apprentice of Dawnclan|Small Ginger Tabby She-cat|Location: Dawnclan camp|Mentions: [d] Hornetpaw, Open

Foxpaw had nodded to Hornetpaw, then followed the other apprentice to the elders, dropping off the last of the prey. She lingered for a moment that passed so quick, it could have been imagined, before turning on her paws and plucking some prey out for herself, settling down but making little attempt to actually eat the small mouse at her paws. Instead, she gave it a prod or two before sliding it a bit forward, after a half-hearted bite. Her gaze instead turned up from the prey, to scan the camp slowly, watching as warriors and apprentices began to rise and busy themselves for the day. Foxpaw wondered briefly if she would be able to go out, and if not the thought of sneaking out brushed temptingly across her mind. Still, she remained where she lay. The temptation of one day out in the forest would probably mean more time spent on camp duty. Lost in thought, she almost didn't hear Hornetpaw come up, until the tom started to speak.
For a moment, she didn't respond but merely looked upwards at the puffy clouds in the sky. The silence stretched on for longer than necessary, before Foxpaw finally spoke, gaze still upward.
"I hadn't noticed." For a moment, the tone was difficult to deduce from the she-cat, the flatness carrying no hint of what she meant. But it almost seemed, as if she were making one of her old sarcastic jokes. She blinked, and when her eyes reopened her head had tilted back downwards, falling upon Hornetpaw with their usual yellow sharpness. They flickered slightly, as if she were studying his face, her whiskers twitching once before she turned away. She did not however, get up or move away as she was prone to doing lately when others came around.
the silence stretched on for another long moment, before Foxpaw shifted, slightly relaxed from her statuesque pose.
"Do you think-" She started to speak, then stopped, her jaws snapping shut with a faint cough. As if to cover the moment, she pulled the mouse at her paws back closer, taking a bite. Her muscles had re-tensed and her ears had flattened slightly. Perhaps the tom was getting to her, with all his persistent chattering.

Scorchwing | Warrior of DawnClan | Long-Limbed White & Charcoal Female | Location: DawnClan Camp | Mentions: Falconstrike [Direct] Gingerstar, Umbraclaw [Indirect]

Two days past since Dewmist was found, two days since she had buried her, and two days of complete and utter chaos from within herself. Sometime she wandered around as if in a daze, eyes glazed over and stiff movements that brought her through camp. Other times, she was restless and seemed to be hyper aware of everything around her; every moving shadow, every creaking branch, or startled bird was her sister’s killer. Nothing seemed to bring her any peace of mind and, despite Umbraclaw’s thwarting of her desire for night patrols, she stationed herself as a guard two days in a row. And she didn’t quite see an end to such a habit.

As the sun lifted itself into the sky, she studied the few cats that strolled around camp with narrowed eyes. She seemed as if she was staring down an invisible enemy, daring it to come and take more of her kin. But, of course, not many would notice the large, glowering mollie tucked away from prying eyes. Perhaps some could feel the heat of her gaze, but only those that really looked could find the white and charcoal tabby.

Only when more cats began to slip from their dens did she move in a forcible manner, as if to show any wandering, pitying eyes that she was fine. Maybe if she convey her usual strength, she’d begin to believe it, too. Since busying herself with patrols, she had begun to rely on the appearance of her leader and deputy, and had grown accustomed to simply staring between the two dens, waiting for one of them to join the waking world.
During this wait, she had chosen to settle next to Falconstrike, one of the few that didn’t show any desire to coddle and coo. She settled down not too far from the tom, greeting him with a simple nod before focusing strongly on her two points of interest.

Harepaw | Apprentice of DuskClan | Small, Hickory & Cream Female | Location: DuskClan Camp | Mentions: Redeye, Sootpaw

Harepaw could feel the typical brush of grass against her legs and the sweep of the breeze tunneling around her. The world seemed to move slowly and quickly all at once, as if she were in complete control. Her sight was crystal clear, able to spot the dips in the trail she dashed across. She remembered this feeling with bright clarity. The overwhelming sense of freedom that flooded her chest reminded her of her time with Dustpelt. And it wasn’t long until a presence pressed down on her conscious again, as if urging her to search.

She glanced around in confusion before her eyes met her right side. The form of another feline sprinted right alongside her, its pelt a blazing silvery sheen. Its image shimmered and flickered like sunlight through the trees. She couldn’t gauge a fleck of recognition from the body. In spite of that, it moved along her as if it were her Clanmate. She grew alarmed, gasping as she attempted to slow. She took a deep, shuddering breath, trying to contain her panic.

The breeze picked up around her, caressing her soft brown pelt and carrying an aroma with it. The familiar scent of spice and mint soothed her and nearly brought tears to her eyes. A smile broke across her face despite the burn in her throat, and her pace quickened until she was flying over the territory once more, feeling as if she were a bundle of fluff once more, free of burden.

Harepaw woke with a jolt, the sound of subdued shouting startling her awake. She froze in her nest, her limbs tucked under herself like a fawn and her head bent into her chest. After a second of collecting herself, she recognized the slightly delirious shouts of the albino warrior who had taken it upon himself to become a tick in her side. But a tolerable one. Who was warm and didn’t bother her with her feelings.

She sighed softly, relaxing in her nest as she realized no one else had raised the alarm. She nuzzled her face into the curve of her mossy nest, expecting a nice, plush surface. A pressure against her eyelid told her differently. She flinched away, opening her eyes with a groggy groan of protest. She blinked, spotting a pale quill from within her bedding. Confused, she tugged it free and cradled it between her paws. Her head tilts and her brow dips. An eagle feather? She glanced around, noting the presence of Sootpaw. She watched him wordlessly as he cleaned the moss from his fur. Her ears fold back, brushing off the appearance of the feather as some stupid little prank. After all, how else would it get there?

Harepaw stood slowly, not wanting to disturb the tom who seemed blissfully unaware of her wakened state. A playful jest sprung to her mind as she looked on, but the words died before they could reach her throat. A strong sense of longing made her sigh quietly. She hung her head and moved past him quickly, leaving the eagle feather in the curve of her bedding. She had training to do and cats to avoid, no time for dallying.

Cloudburst || 26 moons || Female || Dawnclan Warrior/Queen (5 weeks) || Long white fur with dilute tabby calico marks || polydactyl || Location{Dawnclan camp} || Mentions {directly-Ravenblaze} {indirectly-scorchwing, falconstrike}

Cloudburst moaned as she rolled over onto her side, twitching her tail in annoyance. She hadnt been able to sleep well the past two days, a combination of her worry for the clan and her kits becoming more active had led to her lack of sleep. She had never really felt her kittens moving so much before, but she failed to inform the medicine cats thinking it was fairly normal this early- maybe she would bring it up later today.
She tried to fall back to sleep but either she was too uncomfortable, or the suns rays would poke trhough the den and into her eyes, so she inevitably gave in to the morning. Stretching, she stood and padded out of the nursery, allowing a loud yawn to escape her maw. She saw Falconstrike and Scorchwing off on one side of the camp and wavedto them with her tail. it may have been selfish of her, but she took guilty pleasure in the sadness of the other cats- not out of madness or spite- but because she felt equal once again. It nagged at her brain that the death of Sunspots and Dewmist were what lifted her moods once more and she couldnt help but feel a mixture of feelings knowing how wrong it was to think that way, but at least the others could relate to her again.
Cloudburst padded over to the kill pile, digging around a bit for a fairly dry morsel to snack on, settling on a damp dove, their feathers were some of the finest after all. She plucked away the down carfully before digging in to the carcass, the taste bringing energy back to her.
She gathered the down and returned to the nursery, placing the soft feathers strategically. By the time she had finished, she had used all the energy the bird had given her. The pale queen sighed, turning tail and padding to the medicine den, ” is there anything here I can take to help with sleep? Or at least give me energy to last the day?” she inquired without giving a real reason for her request. She had been helping out around the medicine cats den for the past two days and she knew where they kept their “stash” as she called it- but she was too cautious to rummage through it and get any herbs herself, there was a reason she wasnt a medicine cat after all.

Vulturepaw || 10moons || Male || Duskclan apprentice {Mentor Redeye} || short dark brown/black tom with yellow eyes || deformed throat/trachea || Location {Duskclan Camp} || Mentions {directly- Sootpaw, Harepaw} {indirectly- Redeye}

Vulturepaw padded through the forest, he was alone and lost. Yellow eyes scanned for anything or anyone that could help him find his way back to camp. As he scanned the trees, he noticed that they seemed impossibly tall- the canopy hidden by clouds, trunks the size of monsters. How odd... he began to walk forward but upon lifting his paw he felt instantly drained, his entire body ached and he felt he could collapse at any second. Fear pricked his pelt as he realized the forest was silent, he began to tremble, a flash of lightning blinded him and the roaring thunder kicked him into gear, tired legs ran full speed from thunder that sounded almost like the yowling of cats, rain began to pour down and he turned around to see the forest disappearing into darkness behind him, motivating him to speed up. His paws thud against the thick ground and his throat whistled with every breath, another flash of lightning and he was out of the forest, now at river rocks, the sound of yowling cats now distant, this was all too familiar, yet so surreal. He padded shakily forward, his tail dragging behind him. He stopped when he stepped into a red puddle and the sound of rasping breath could be heard, ”Cherrysong?”he called, recognizing the scene before him. There was no reply, only the rain and gasps for air, he padded closer, peering down to see cherrysong’s mangled body once more, but she was still alive. He bounded forwards ” Cherrysong!” he nudged her body, but it was... cold. His fur stood on end as the corpse let out an ungodly cackle, only then did he realize the yowling of cats was closer- too close, he turned to see the rocks just a few pawsteps behind him were becoming engulfed with darkness. The black tom began to run but was knocked off his feet by the cackling corpse, it dug its claws i to his legs and he let out a shrill scream as the darkness enveloped him.
Vulturepaw shot up from his nest to hear an alarm, he let out his own yowl beleiving he was caught in his nightmare before realizing he was safe, the yells from outside were just his mentor- and they were ... happy?
The small tom felt a bit hot with embarrassment seeing Sootpaw was only a few tail-lengths away, but he was still filled with adrenaline. His heart was beating out of his chest and he was hyperventilating a bit- his fur puffed out conpletely in utter fear. He had had the similar nightmares the past two nights, but this had been the worst. He was almost scared to go back to sleep, fearing that he wouldnt wake up.
He managed to calm himself down, ” sorry, I- I had a bad dream...” he apologized to Sootpaw whom he was sure he had startled.

Owlfeather|Duskclan|Deputy|36 Moons Old|Siamese She-Cat|Location: camp|Mention(s) Directly: Dustpelt, Weasleflight, Harepaw, Redeye, {[NPCs]Clovershine, Fawnpelt}|Mention(s) Indirectly: Blackstar, OPEN

Owlfeather sat next to the warriors den, the siamese she-cat was cleaning herself. As she drew her right paw over her nose, her nose suddenly tickled. Suddenly sucking in a deep breath, the deputy let out a large sneeze. Why did she need to have the largest of all sneezes inside of camp? Could she not have done this, when she was out patrolling? Glancing around, the deputy tried to make sure no one noticed. Ya right, like that was possible. Owlfeather looked to the medicine cat den, maybe she should go and see if the medicine cats had anything. No, the deputy shook her head and then licking her belly fur flat, she would only be bothering them. That and she was not keen, on Blackstar kowing.
Looking around, the deputy scand the camp. Spotting Dustpelt, the deputy called out to the warrior, "Dustpelt, I want you, Redeye, and Weasleflight to go out on hunting patrol!", the she-cat called. Stepping over to the warriors, she added, "Maybe you could also take Harepaw out, fresh air might be good for her." She was worried for the apprentice, maybe getting her out and about would do her some good. Giving the tom a nod, Owlfeather turned and looked around for some other warriors. "Clovershine and Fawnpelt, I want the two of you to go out on border patrol. Try not to get into trouble, alright? We don't need that right now", the deputy instrucked. Owlfeather watched, as the two warriors headed out. Letting out a sigh, she went to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a squirrel. The she-cat was glad to see that it was starting to dry out, some of the camp was dry now and most of the rain had stopped now. As she was lying down, Owlfeather noticed Redeye running in and heading for Blackstar. Although she was interested, Owlfeather decided that would rather eat her prey. Laying a bit on her side, the siamese she-cat started to eat.

Flamepaw|Dawnclan|Apprentice|13 Moons Old|Ginger She-Cat|Location: Apprnetice Den - Camp|Mention(s) Directly: OPEN|Mention(s) Indirectly: Lightsong, Foxpaw

Flamepaw stretched her legs and opened her blue eyes a crack, the sun was shining into the apprentice den. She was late, but instead of standing up, the young she-cat let out a sigh and only placed her head at the side of her nest. Letting out a sigh, the young ginger she-cat looked out of the den. She could see some cats moving around outside, she should be doing some work too. The past two days, the apprentice had only been out hunting once and that was only to get away from her brothers constant mothering. As she closed her blue eyes again, the she-cats mind wandered to Mothpaw. Ever since she had, had this much time alone with her thoughts, Flamepaw had decided to focus on Mothpaw on not on her mother's death. It had definitely helped her, the young she-cat only wished she could share it with someone.
Opening her eyes again, Flamepaw spotted Foxpaw outside. She felt bad for her sister, since she had been put on elder duty, but it was also her own fault. Why had she attacked the Duskclan cats on her own? Sometimes Flamepaw thought had he sister had bees for brains. Letting out a sigh, Flamepaw pushed herself up. Placing one paw out her warm and comfortable nest at a time, the young she-cat soon stood next to it. Aching her back and splaying her claws, Flamepaw let out one last yawn. She was not tired, still yawning somehow seemed to calm her mind. Slowly heading for the apprentice dens entrance, Flamepaw peeked outside. She could already see many cats outside, but some she could not. Maybe they had already gone out on patrol, the ginger she-cat thought. Placing her paws tentatively outside into the sun shine, Flamepaw keeped a bit to the shadows. Her eyes were scanning the camp for Lightsong, she was grateful for her brothers concern, but now it was just getting annoying. Reaching the fresh-kill pile, Flamepaw grabbed a small fish by its tail and dragged it to a secluded spot. As she lay down, with the fish between her paws, the ginger tabby she-cat wondered, 'When was the last time I spoke with anyone?'

Sootpaw | Duskclan Apprentice | 13 moons | Small, gray tabby tom | Location: Duskclan Camp | Mentions: (Direct) Vulturepaw (Indirect) Harepaw, Redeye

Sootpaw snorted when he caught Harepaw practically dart past him and out of the den. Still no talking. He knew they weren't exactly close before the incident, but she didn't even bother to look in his direction! The tom reminded himself that he had kept something important from her, after all, and he would probably be just as-
Actually, no! He wouldn't act this way in her place. He would shout, growl, argue, make remarks. So why wasn't Harepaw doing those things? Why did she have to treat him like he had some disease that she might catch if she so much as looked at him? He understood if she hated him, but she'd have to at least start treating him like a clanmate again at some point, Sootpaw was sure. He swiped a paw over his face, trying to groom his frustration away in silence.

Sootpaw jumped and spun around at the sudden yowl behind him, his freshly groomed fur standing on end as he stared at Vulturepaw in bewilderment. His fur began to lay flat as he listened to the younger apprentice apologize but his paws were still pricking with nerves. "You're becoming too much like Redeye," he huffed only somewhat jokingly, his tail flicking in slight agitation. "Do the two of you plan on scaring the stars out of me every morning or was today just a special gift?"

Once Sootpaw was sure his heart wasn't going to jump up his throat he sighed sharply and looked at Vulturepaw in concern. "Well, nevermind that. Up for eating something? While we're at it, maybe you can ask Redeye what's got him so excited that he needs to shout about it! ...Unless you're still a bit tired?" Sootpaw tried to hide the worry from his voice but he could feel it ease its way in near the end of his sentence as his words softened. He knew Vulturepaw had been restless, tossing around in the night, but this was the first he had heard the small tom actually scream out like that! To Sootpaw, it sounded as though he were in pain. How awful his night terrors must be.

All the more reason Sootpaw wanted to help Vulturepaw get his mind off of this dream of his, and what better distraction than fresh kill? However, perhaps Vulturepaw really needed to rest up before starting the day? Sootpaw guessed the tom couldn't have gotten much sleep, and he didn't want to force him out of the den just to see his paws dragging for the rest of the day.

Umbraclaw|Deputy of Dawnclan|Black Mollie|Location: Dawnclan camp|Mentions: (d) Hornetpaw, Foxpaw, Gingerstar (Ind) Flamepaw

Umbraclaw would end up waking up later than most of the other warriors, though not without good reason. The deputy has assigned herself to the second night patrol last night and had been taking a lot of other patrols over the last few days. Nevertheless, she would soon wake up to a day that was finally free of rain and head to the fresh kill pile to grab something to eat. She would select a large chipmunk and take it to a sheltered part of the camp to eat in peace. It was liable to be on the quiet moment she would get the whole day since she intended to settle things with Foxpaw today one way or another.

After picking the rodent clean, she would bury the remains before seeking out her apprentice. The deputy would soon find her apprentice with the medicine apprentice Hornetpaw. "Greetings Hornetpaw, I hope your training has been going well." After having thus greeted Hornetpaw, she would turn her attention to her apprentice. "Foxpaw, would you accompany me on a walk? I would like to talk to you in private, you're not in anymore trouble, so don't worry about that."

She hoped that Foxpaw would agree to her request even if it did come with a bit of snark. She could deal with a bit of snark especially considering the circumstances. What she wouldn't be able to deal with was if the small taby rejected her outright, since if she did, that would tell her everything she needed to know about the state of their relationship. If that happened, then there would be no choice then to take her to Gingerstar to see about getting a new mentor since it would be clear trying to train the small cat herself would be pointless.

However assuming Foxpaw agreed to her request, Umbraclaw would first take her to the edges of the camp before starting the walk and talk proper. Hopefully a little exercise as they talked would keep her a little more agreeable. "All right, Foxpaw, I am going to be completely honest with you concerning my decision on that fateful patrol and why you haven't seen much of me these past two days. First will be the quicker explanation on why I haven't spent any time with you. Part of the reason is obviously because of the increased number of patrols I have been taking. The other part is because I wanted to give you some space. I figured that after what had happened with the Duskclan, that you wouldn't want to see my face, especially after having been put on elder duty. "

Umbraclaw would give her a moment to process this and a chance to study the apprentices reactions before continuing. "Now for the second explanation of why I sent you and and your sister back to camp with Sunspot's body. I did it to protect you both, as well as the rest of the patrol group and even Dawnclan as a whole. It was also to give you the chance to do something I couldn't; the chance to properly say goodbye to your mother. You had already attacked the Duskclan and were lucky that they chose to merely restrain you as you could have been badly hurt instead. That being said, I do understand why you did so, but that still doesn't mean I could overlook it. Your sister Flamepaw had already nearly attacked as well to help you and as a result the two of you were making an already dangerous situation even more volatile. If I had allowed the two of you to remain, then the chances were high that a fight would have broken out. Should a battle had indeed broken out, you and your sister would have been the the easiest targets due to your emotional states and lesser combat experience. I in turn would have done everything I could to protect you both which would have put me at a higher risk as well. Then even if we did win, we would doubtlessly have been injured and clan relations would have seriously worsened. Neither we or the Duskclan want to go back to open war since doing so would leave us both vulnerable to outside invasion. So I did what I did for the sake of our clan and I hope you can understand that even if you don't like it."

The deputy would then pause a moment and look a bit sad before saying. "You know Foxpaw, in a way, I envy you and your siblings. You see, my mother sacrificed herself to lure away a pack of dogs that had been coming dangerously close to camp. As a result, we never found her body so I never got to share last tongues with her or see her buried in the clan groups. I can also never visit her grave for there is none to visit. I truly wish that your mother was still alive, but I am at least thankful for the fact that you got to bring her home at least. It is something that to that this I wish I could have down for my own."

However her expression would quickly become serious again and she would ask Foxpaw an important question. "Now Foxpaw, I need to know something and I want you to be perfectly honest. Do you still wish to be my apprentice or am I still hated in your eyes? Due to the increased number of patrols I have been taking, should you remain my apprentice, you would be expected to go on a number of them as well. However in doing so, you would need to listen to my orders without argument. We have already lost three clan members in so short a time and can't afford to keep losing more. So the last thing I need is any dangerous disobedience while out on patrol in such difficult times. Is this something you can accept? Now don't answer yet because Gingerstar will need to know your answer regardless of what it is. So think it over while we go look for her."

With Umbraclaw would start to look for Gingerstar while wondering what choice her apprentice was about to make.

Mothpaw | Duskclan | Medicine cat apprentice | 13 Moons old | location: territory | Mentions (D) Blackstar, Redeye, open (ID) Flamepaw, Fleetwhisper |

Mothpaw sighed as he sorted through herbs alone. A few days have passed since the death of Cherrysong, and the disappearance of his mentor Fleetwhisper. And as the days dragged on, Mothpaw could feel his hope slipping away. Either his mentor was killed, or he was taken by twolegs. He wasn't very fond of either of those possibilities, at least if Fleetwhisper was captured there was a chance he could return home. Then, the tom wouldn't feel like his world was crashing around him. Pushing his thoughts away, the apprentice continued to sort and organize what herbs he had left. Being a medicine cat can be lonely at times, even with his clanmates just outside his den.
The tom nearly jumped for joy when the sound of approaching pawsteps reached hia ears. Finally, some cat to talk too. Mothpaw turned his head just in time to see Blackstar entering his den. “Yes, of course blackstar.” He mewed settling down as his leader spoke. The grey and white cats whiskers twitched in surprise when the vision Mothpaw saw a few days ago, was brought up. Personally, he thought that Blackstar might have brushed his vision off, but it seemed he was wrong. Nodding his head, he answered quietly. “That day, a strange feeling overcame my body.” He began, shivering at the fear he had felt in those few moments. “My body started to shake and for some reason I looked up at the sky. The clouds above started form into what looked like cats,” Mothpaw closed his eyes and pictured those strange clouds in his mind. “Then… A much larger and darker cloud formed and began to attack the smaller clouds.” He shook the images from his mind and tried yo make sense of it all. “It was a massacre.” The apprentice looked up at Blackstar and shrugged. “Maybe Starclan is trying to warn us of a fight? But with who I can't figure out. The larger cloud didn't seem to be a cat at all.” If Fleetwhisper was here he could decipher it. But he wasn't, and all Duskclan was left with has a lousy apprentice with no experience when it came to omens. “I want to say it looked like a badger or fox but i'm not sure.” This omen brought a more frightening thought to Mothpaws mind, what if those clouds were about a fight with Dawnclan? Knowing Gingerstar, it probably was. But that meant Flamepaw might get hurt, and that thought made the toms fur bristle. But before he could discuss the vision more with Blackstar, Redeye came bursting into camp like a mad man, shouting for his leader. Mothpaw glanced over to the black cat, before getting to his paws and following Blackstar out into the open. “Redeye what's the matter? Are you hurt?” The apprentice asked with worried eyes.

Ravenblaze | Dawnclan Medicine Cat | 25 Moons | White Green-Eyed Tom | Camp |Mentions: Foxpaw(ID), Hornetpaw, Cloudburst, Open!

Ravenblaze had been observing Hornetpaw sorting the herbs into piles for many more times than he could count, and than he had wished. He felt like they needed to go out in the territory to learn properly, how could he know his apprentice had memorised the quickest path to each herb patch if they did not test it? He resisted a sigh and put away the piles for now, sorting them back into the herb store for later use. His ears perked up when he heard Foxpaw's voice. He felt a small purr rise in his throat as Hornetpaw immediately volunteered to help out the elder. He picked up the bird, crunching away at the carcass while he waited for his apprentice to return. He was not able to take more than two bites before he heard more paws approaching the den. He lifted his green gaze to see Cloudburst. The queen had visited often, and had become one of the few things to distract from an otherwise repetitive lifestyle.

"Not sleeping well?" He questioned with a warm tone. Abandoning his mouse, the medicine cat turned to the herb store and started looking through his herbs. He found some ragwort that just might do the trick. He picked the fern-like herb up and turned to the expecting queen. "Ragwort, safe for queens and gives strength and energy." He explained after putting the herb down in front of her. "I must ask, are your kits moving around much?" He tilted his head curiously. He had not been counting how long the queen had been pregnant, but from experience, he assumed that she would be ready to have kits at any day now. His mind wandered briefly to the kits' father, but he pushed the thought away as quickly as it had come. Now was not the time to get sad.
