Dawnclan Territory:
Dawnclan's territory is lightly forested, with wider, slow rivers connecting to the two small central lakes. The terrain is moss covered and gently hilly. A sandy area on the edge of a shallow river is their training area, and to the south is the two-leg gathering place where small nests nestle between thin cut trees on the edge of a small lake, which merges into the two-leg town the more south one goes.
The camp is nestled in a dip in the land, with a series of rocks that make shelters for the Leader and Medicine cat dens, as well as the nursery. The rest of the nests are in old burrows, the edge of the camp sheltered with prickly brambles. It is spacious and open, with plenty of places to relax on moss covered stones or tussle in soft grass.
the territory is marked to the east and north by a large, uncrossable river. To the south by the two-leg camp ground, and to the east by their boundary with Duskclan, which is marked most notably by a large spread of rocks along a thin river that eventually turns into Duskclan terrain. It is a spot of much conflict.

Duskclan Territory:
Duskclan's territory lies to the east side of the territories, in thicker forest where mist lingers longer in the mornings, and navigation requires agility and precision. The rivers here are often thinner, but more wild with faster waters in many of the places. Their training area is a clear patch of forest where the ground is soft and a fallen log and tree stumps provide a boundary.
Their camp is nestled up, and along the side of a hill that inclines sharply, with pathways between and going up its walls. The dens nestle close together, with the Leaders den above inside a fallen tree root system, the medicine cat below in the same system. The dens are in a mixture of burrows and makeshift nests in the brush, some nests in the jagged hill walls. Outside the nests they have a spacious area for sharing tongues and meetings, protected by thick foliage and the numerous rocks.
Their territory is marked by a sheer cliff drop to the east, an uncross able river to the north, the two-legs to the south, and their border with Dawnclan.
2000px-Decorative_text_divider.svg.png

 CURRENT EVENTS
Two-legs are in the territory!
Currently due to the nice weather, two-legs have been more prevalent than normal, walking along the paths that trace between both clans.
Though they often leave cats alone, the threat of dogs and scared prey is high.

NEWS

CLUES
Two-legs have taken a Duskclan cat.
Two-leg traps have been found in both clans.
A Dawnclan cat was killed by an unknown source.
A strange new scent has been found all over the territory, its source leading apparently south.
Ravenblaze has seen a Starclan sign in the clouds.
~~
During a storm, Duskclan cats found three bodies, all deceased. Two Dawnclan, one Duskclan.
Dawnclan on the same patrol found a few pawprints, hard to identify but heading what looks like south.
Mothpaw, Ravenblaze, and Hornetpaw have seen signs in the clouds, cats fighting against an unknown darkness.
~~
Two strangers have been found in the territory, one taken by the two-legs another who seems to be nesting near the Cavern on Dawnclan territory.

The traps are discovered to not be for the cats.

~~~
**Please make sure to put your clan in your header! **
Sootpaw | Duskclan Apprentice | 13 moons | Small, gray tabby tom | Location: Duskclan Camp | Mentions: (Direct) Harepaw, Vulturepaw
Sootpaw's gaze darted away helplessly. He couldn't do this. He forced his eyes to meet Harepaw's for just a brief moment.
"I'm sorry." And just like that, he was looking away again. "I'm really sorry." Sootpaw's voice was quiet and level, and he sat down beside Vulturepaw with a small thump. All he could do was apologize for the news she would soon receive. Sootpaw's solemn gaze landed back on the small tom beside him, checking on how he was holding up, before he dragged his eyes back to Harepaw again. He said nothing more, letting the quiet settle within the apprentice den.
There was nothing more he could do, nothing more he could say at this point, and he didn't want to make it any harder on Harepaw by saying the wrong things.
Lightsong|Warrior of Dawnclan|Yellow tom|Location: camp|Mentions: Cloudburst.
“I’m sorry to see him go. He was a great warrior and he would have been a great a father as you are going to be a mother.” Lightsong replied, standing up a bit straiter at the mention of his old mentor. He lined his words with as much praise as he could, though he knew nothing he could say would help the she-cat much. “At least a small part of him will live on in your kits.” Lightsong said with a firey conviction. “And he is watching over us all from Starclan.”
Lightsong turned his head to see Hornetpaw waiting nearbye.
He blinked at the medicine cats apprentices soft words, realising the she cat really shouldn’t be out here in the ice cold rain. He really should be curled up in his den as well, but he was unwilling to go back there. The storm was calling him outside, its loud noising luring him further from his den. When the world was active like this, he wanted to be active as well. Even if he knew it was ludicreous, he wanted to run out of camp. The thought was like a drumbeat in his mind, repeating over and over.
“Run, run, run.” His mind screamed, but he kept his feet plastered to the ground as he smiled at Cloudburst.
Blackstar|Leader of Duskclan|One eyed Black Tom|Location: Camp|Mentions: Open
Blackstar slipped into the camp last, his body heavy now that the adrenaline of the events started to fade. Though his mind whirled with the posibilities and situations that could have led to such an unfortunate demise of cats, his face did not show it. A serious furrow was set in his brow, but it looked more pensive than unsettled. Blackstar did not pause to share last tongues with Cherrysong, there would be time later, but instead leapt with scrabbling claws up the High Rock, his paws carrying him to the slick edge, digging into the moss that helped stabilize the tom atop his perch.
"Let all cats of age, come to the High Rock for a Clan meeting." His voice quavered only slightly, and perhaps from yowling over the storm. He watched as a mixture of eyes trailed upwards, from the tired, weather weary warriors on the patrol to those who popped from dens, blissfully unaware of the days events. He took a deep breath, settling his heart. It was perhaps, the most difficult duty he had to do, but he knew that Duskclan would only grow closer in the times of darkness they survived.
Dustpelt|Warrior of Duskclan|Leggy Calico Tom|Location: Duskclan Territory|Mentions: Open
Dustpelt had brightened at the sight of Weaselflight, though that joy had quickly turned into shock as he realized the cats entering the camp were less than enthused to return home. With tails dragging he realized that between them, was an unmoving clanmate. His wonder did not need to last long, as Weaselflight broke from the group and angled towards him, the words hardly leaving his tongue before he vanished into the Warriors den. Dustpelt stood, half risen his greeting lost in his throat.
Cherrysong. His paws were heavy, keeping him in place as Redeye also neared, the usually intriguing cat far too lackluster. That seemed to unnerve Dustpelt the most, rather than the words he relayed as well. Dustpelt knew death was a part of clan life, and as shocking as the occasion was the tom seemed less troubled than some of his clanmates. Perhaps it came from losing family at such an early age, or the toms constant desire to see the positive. Either way, his furrowed brow was less for the departed spirit of Cherrysong, and more for his friends.
He pressed his forehead into Redeyes shoulder, a gesture of comfort and thanks.
"We always know it can happen, but its never easy." He mewed quietly, leaning back from the tom. He gave a nod to the warrior, and padded back out into the rain. His paws took him towards the apprentice den, but as he neared he could hear the faint mew of Harepaw's name coming from Sootpaw. It quavered, and Dustpelt wondered if the tom already knew, was already there for a fellow den-mate.
He paused, and couldn't help but glance towards the warriors den, the darkness that had swallowed Weaselflight. He had just been about to head that way, when he heard the all to familiar yowl of Blackstar summoning the clan. Torn, Dustpelt wavered between apprentice and warrior den, wanting to comfort both, but not knowing what to do.
Flamepaw|Dawnclan|Apprentice|13 Moons Old|Ginger She-Cat|Location: border|Mention(s) Directly: |Mention(s) Indirectly: Foxpaw, Scorchwing, Larkclaw, Sunspots
Flamepaw's body moved as if on its own. Her eyes were fixed on the lifeless form of her mother, she could feel Foxpaw close to her side. What was their brother going to say? Flamepaw wondered. The ginger tabby apprentice, turned a bit and looked back, as she heard Scorchwings cries. Dewmist? Her numb mind wondered. It at first did not make sense, until she remembered that Dewmist was her mentors littermate. 'I see', her cold and emotionless mind said, 'So that had been Dewmist.' Flamepaw then only turned and headed after Larkclaw, reaching the warriors side, Flamepaw lifted up her mothers back, as she slipped a bit off the warriors back. The apprentices eyes were cast down, she could not, would not look at her mother. Flamepaw wanted to remember her the way, she had been when she was alive, not like this, just a bundle of wet fur.
Owlfeather|Duskclan|Deputy|36 Moons Old|Siamese She-Cat|Location: Border - Camp|Mention(s) Directly: Redeye, Blackstar, Charryshadow|Mention(s) Indirectly: Scorchwing
The deputy nodded her head, as the leader gave his orders. Looking back at the direction their camp was at, Owlfeather was about to leave. The she-cat stepped though, as a sudden cry made her body freeze. Looking at the white and smoke colored, Owlfeather felt bad for her. It was terrible to lose your kin and clan cats always seemed, to be especially close. Letting her head sink a bit, Owlfeather turned and, after waiting for a few moments beside Blackstar, for the Dawnclan cats to leave. The she-cat headed to the spot, where Cherryshadow had been left.
She nodded her head in thanks, as Redeye offered to carry her. Reaching down, the deputy grabbed the she-cats pelt and helped to place the dead cat on the white toms back. Owlfeather walked beside Redeye and made sure Cherryshadow would not slip down. The siamese she-cat looked up, as they reached the camp. Helping Redeye to place the dead she-cat on the ground, Owlfeather thanked the tom. The deputy looked around camp, both her body and mind where now tired. She needed to rest and get out of this rain, Owlfeather thought. Spotting a dry spot under some overhanging bushes, Owlfeather headed over to it. After shaking out her fur, the she-cat lay down. Letting out a sigh, the deputy let her head rest on her paws. Owlfeathers eyes were glued to Cherryshadows body, what was happening?
Hearing Blackstar call a meeting, the deputy lifted her head. Getting to her paws, the siamese she-cat slowly walked out of her dry spot. Heading across the camp, Owlfeather made her way to the High Rock. Sitting down, in her spot, just before the rock Blackstar stood on, the siamese she-cat looked at the other cats.
Harepaw | Apprentice of DuskClan | Small, Hickory & Cream Female | Location: DuskClan Territory -> Camp | Mentions: Vulturepaw, Sootpaw, Dustpelt [Direct]
Harepaw opened her mouth, but no words seemed to come to her mind. About a million scenerios ran through her mind, but none were ultimately upsetting. “What’d you guys do? Did you put mouse bile in my nest?” She asked accusatively, her ears drooping. That would take forever to clean out. And then she’d smell afterward. She sighed and stood on small, white toed paws and shook out her pelt, much like her mentor did earlier.
She turned her attention towards the entrance as Blackstar’s voice called a meeting. “Well whatever you did, we can postpone discussion. We’re being summoned.” She yawned quietly and slipped from the den and was met with Dustpelt who seemed to be looking between the two dens. She blinked in surprise and waved her tail in greeting. “I tried to get dry. Didn’t have much time,” she joked lamely, stopping at his flank. “What do you think our heavenly leader wants from us? Information on the silver things? Fernfoot?” She speculated, pouting.
Cloudburst || 26 moons || Female || Dawnclan Warrior/Queen (4 weeks) || Long white fur with dilute tabby calico marks || polydactyl || Location{Dawnclan camp} || Mentions {directly-Hornetpaw, Lightsong} {indirectly- Ravenblaze, Mousefur (NPC)}
Cloudburst felt a bit of reassurance in the toms words and brightened up once more, "If only these kits would hurry it up a little bit..." she joked quietly, watching Hornetpaw walk to the medicine cat's den before looking back at the younger tom in front of her, "Thank you for the conversation, Hornetpaw's right though, I shouldn't be out in the rain for so long- none of us should really, its not good for our spirits." she said before standing and following after the apprentice, She still wasn't quite ready to go back to the nursery alone.
Vulturepaw || 10moons || Male || Duskclan apprentice {Mentor Redeye} || short dark brown/black tom with yellow eyes || deformed throat/trachea || Location {Duskclan Camp} || Mentions {directly- Sootpaw, Harepaw} {indirectly- }
The small black tom felt a little better knowing that the older apprentice was by his side, at least somewhat more capable of not totally spazzing out. His eyes filled with worry, however when he heard Blackstar's voice boom over the sound of rain. Vulturepaw shot Sootpaw a worried expression before creeping to the apprentices den mouth, not daring to go out in the rain again and leave the warm safety of the den. "She's gonna be mad at us." the small tom mumbled, peering out at the gathering cats. He couldn't find the courage to move any further from his nest than he already was, and simply crouched, watched and listened for the terrible news that was about to be given.
Dustpelt|Warrior of Duskclan|Leggy Calico Tom|Location: Duskclan camp|Mentions: Weaselflight, Harepaw
Dustpelt sighed, and turned on his paws about to head to the center of the camp when he heard Harepaw emerge, still in high spirits. So she didn't know. Dustpelt did not move forward, a sinking in his belly. His gaze fell onto Harepaw, studying her for a moment. She wouldn't be able to miss Cherrysongs body, it lay protected under the High Stone, in clear view of the gathering cats.
"Harepaw you need to know something before the meeting." His voice was solemn, green eyes swiveling over her face.
"Its Cherrysong." There was no way to get around it, and so Dustpelt knew it was time to be direct. Harepaw was nearing the end of her training, and so he would treat her as such.
"Come with me. He was to tall to press his side into the she-cat's own, so instead he merely stayed close enough to gently brush limb to limb, sharing his presence without being imposing. The clan was slow to respond to the summons due to the rain, so they did not need to move between many cats before reaching the site. As Cherrysong came clearly into view, he lay his tail over her back, knowing it would do no good but wanting to show the young apprentice that he was still there.
"She's running with Starclan now." He spoke quietly, glancing back upwards at Blackstar. He knew the leader would understand that this had to happen before he spoke, that she had to know before the clan received whatever news he had. He felt a shudder run down his pelt that wasn't from the chill of the rain, and institutionally looked around for Weaselflight.
Umbraclaw|Dawnclaw Deputy|Mollie|Location: River Rocks|Mentions: Foxpaw, Larkclaw, Scorchwing, Flamepaw, Red Eye, Weaselflight, Blackstar
Umbraclaw would watch the two dawnclan apprentices carefully after she gave her order to carry their mother's body. It looked like Flamepaw might be willing to forgive her in time, but Foxpaw...well the look her apprentice had given her was more than enough to confirm her concerns. There was no chance that she would able to continuing mentoring the small ginger tabby any further after this. Foxpaw had always been a handful, but that would be nothing compared to how she would be after all this. If she was going to become a warrior, then she would need a mentor that she didn't despise and thus might listen to. The deputy would have to talk to Gingerstar about this later, but for now she had the Duskclan to deal with.
At first it seems like Owlfeather was going to grant her request, but then Redeye mentioned that their leader was close. At that the other deputy would ask her to wait, a request that she would agree to with. "Very well, I can wait for your leader. Now while I don't doubt your words about finding nothing, considering the rain, I would still like to see for myself."
As such she would wait for Blackstar to show up, though it would ultimately prove to be a waste of time. She would quickly realize that both by the way his claw dug into the earth and his first few words. Her eyes would narrow a bit out of annoyance from his denial, but her eyes would stare back just as unflinchingly into his own. Her golden eyes would show no signs of weakness or her own internal sadness, but just another cat willing to do what she needed for the sake of her clan.
Yet despite her irritation with his denial, she would seem to take it gracefully. "Very well, we shall depart then after recovering the body of our other clan cat." With that Umbraclaw would start to walk towards the location of the second body, but would move into a run at Scorchwing's cry. At seeing who the second corpse belonged to, she would instantly understand the warrior's distress. As such she would walk over to the grief stricken mollie and attempt to place a comforting paw on her back. "I'm sorry Scorchwing, I truly am. Let me help you get her out of the rain and back to camp where she belongs."
The black Mollie would then wait patiently for the black and white warrior to collect herself and then help her carry the body of her fallen sibling back to camp. She would report Dewmist's passing to Gingerstar herself to spare Scorchwing from having to do it. It was the least she could do to help the grieving cat.
Sootpaw | Duskclan Apprentice | 13 moons | Small, gray tabby tom | Location: Duskclan Camp | Mentions: (Direct) Vulturepaw (Indirect) Harepaw, Blackstar, Cherrysong(NPC)
Sootpaw followed Vulturepaw to the opening of the den's exit, peering out at the gathering cats that looked out from their own sheltered spots and those who braved the rain to stand before Blackstar. Although the tom was a bit worried that Vulturepaw was right, that Harepaw would be upset with them for not telling her, he tried his best to sound unconcerned. He didn't want the younger apprentice to worry more than he had to after the day he had. "Maybe. But even if she is, it won't be forever, you know?"
Sootpaw suddenly felt the grime of the day settled in his coat, the dried mud on his paws and the small mats in his fur, having forgotten to groom himself after getting back from River Stones. He swiped his tongue over his shoulder a couple times but got no further than that, setting his sights back on their leader. "Besides," Sootpaw continued quietly, "I don't think it's us she'd really be angry with." It was whatever had killed Cherrysong that would garner the most hatred from both Harepaw and the clan, and he wondered if Blackstar and the others had discovered what the culprit was while they were at the scene. Had Cherrysong injured herself on the stones, or had some terrible thing attacked her? He had a sinking feeling that it was the latter, and the image of the pooling blood on the stones was fresh in his mind. Having avoided looking at the body, Sootpaw didn't know what the injuries were. Though, he supposed he didn't have much experience with identifying those sorts of things, anyway. Perhaps she had only slipped into the currents and was thrown against the stones. Sootpaw shivered.
Scorchwing | Warrior of DawnClan | Long-Limbed White & Charcoal Female | Location: River Rocks | Mentions: Umbraclaw ; Dewmist [Direct]
Scorchwing could barely hear Umbraclaw over the storm and her own raging grief. But she obeyed almost automatedly, moving in a sluggish yet twitchy manner, as if she had forgotten how to move properly. It was as if she was a shell, stunned into a dreadful silence. Not even soft whimpers left the mollie now.
She couldn’t seem to find the strength in her to notice the path back to camp, often tripping over herself and almost slowing to a complete stop before blinking and continuing onward. And it wasn’t long before they had reached camp and Umbraclaw had left her with her sibling.
Collapsing in the mud, she drew herself close to Dewmist and simply rested against the cold body, her eyes staring emptily ahead without any recognition, a stranger within her own home. Who did this to you? The thought repeated over and over without much answer from the Stars or her forever silent sister. Perhaps that was for the better. She had a feeling she wouldn’t like the answer.
Harepaw | Apprentice of DuskClan | Small, Hickory & Cream Female | Location: DuskClan Camp | Mentions: Vulturepaw, Sootpaw, Dustpelt [Direct]
Harepaw’s eyes narrowed at the strange behavior of her mentor. Why was everyone acting so strange? He remained suspiciously quiet, his eyes seeming to search her face. The expression on his own face was something she had never quite seen from him. He had always been rather excitable and happy-go-lucky. But this, this difference was something that caused alarms to wail in her head.
When he finally spoke it didn’t soothe her. His voice lacked the shine and shimmer from their little patrol. If her fur could fight the heavy presence of rain, she would appear much bigger than she actually was. Instead, she felt incredibly small and frail against the storm and her mentor’s somber eyes, and more so now that he was leading her through the storm. Not even his own presence curing the numbness that set upon her like the harsh frost of leaf-bare.
“She’s running with StarClan now.”
Her eyes found the body beneath the overhanging rock and a disoriented laugh left her, sounding more like a sob as her throat contracted and a heavy weight pressed against her chest. “No, no,” she whispered, another sob leaking into her voice. “You’re lying, that’s not Cherrysong. That’s not my mom. She’s– that’s not–” Harepaw trailed off, her words loudening in a wail.
She could feel her paws drag her towards her mother, the world seeming to sway underpaw. She felt as if she was far above the confines of camp, despite the obvious weight of the rain and the slimy mud that seemed to be anchoring her to the path to the unmoving body. And, before she knew it, she had buried herself into the drenched, river-scented dampness of Cherrysong’s fur. She nosed her mother’s limp form, trying to get a hint of the sweet tang of spice and the familiar scent of mint. To her dismay, it seemed to have left long ago.
Harepaw pressed herself completely to her mother, her wails softening into heart-wrenching whimpers that didn’t seem to have an end. Slowly, and then all at once, she seemed to retreat into herself, using her own body to try and hide her mother from any eyes that would look their way.
Lightsong|Warrior of Dawnclan|Yellow tom|Location: camp|Mentions: Foxpaw, Flamepaw, Sunspots.
Lightsong looked away from Cloudburst as cat came through the entrance of the camp. Lightsong narrowed his eyes as the cats emerged with hunched shoulders and hung heads. He bounded towards the entrance a little bit faster than normal.
Foxpaw and Flamepaw entered the camp. Their ginger pelts lit up the darkness of the camp just like his did.
Lightsong stopped in his tracks as he noticed that his sisters were carrying someone. Someone with the same ginger pelts as themselves.
Lightsong stared at his mother's bodies and started letting out a wail. It was an otherworldly sound of loss that didn’t stop as he took step after unsteady step towards his siblings and the body.
His normally fluffy pelt hid how skinny he really was but his coat was drenched by the rain. He looked like he was going to fall at any moment as he ran towards Sunspots body.
He crouched down by her mouth, chest fur pressing against the soggy ground. He breathed out like he was trying to fill up her lungs with the air from his own, but she did not move. Lightsong supposed she would never move again. He screwed his eyes shut. His mother would move in Starclan. That would have to be enough. It would be selfish to want for more. Still, he wanted his mother to be with him.
Lightsong staid there by his mother's side, completely still for a few more seconds. Then he got to his feet, possessed with a new energy.
Did Dustclan do this?” Lightsong yowled, getting to his feet. “Those impure, traitorous bastards. They will all pay. Starclan will make them pay!
Lightsong was not a strong tom or a particularly good fighter, but there was something scary about him. His pale eyes were filled with mad belief. He looked to his sister Foxpaw, and for once he didn’t seem like he would get mad at his sisters when they went down a reckless path. He looked like he would follow them if they asked for an attack on the Dustclan attack itself.
He swung his gaze towards the surrounding cats as if expecting a response to his proclamations. This was not behavior befitting of a messenger. He was supposed to be calm and civil when walking about the cats. He usually had scorn in his voice when the other clan came into the conversation, but he had never reacted like this.
Blackstar|Leader of Duskclan|One eyed Black Tom|Location: Camp|Mentions: Clan, Harepaw
Blackstar waited until all motion had ceased, his eye closing only momentarily at Harepaws quiet yowls. Many cats lurked in the den mouths, and he did not blame them. The wind buffeted his own fur atop his perch, and he had to crouch slightly, steadying himself. Though the thunder still rumbled, the rain had let up slightly so he did not need to yowl quiet as loud.
"I will not lie to you. Today brings dark news to our clan. We thought the threat of Two-legs passing through was all this green-leaf had to offer us. We were wrong. Fernfoot was taken two days ago. His eyes scanned the camp, heart dropping slightly.
"Fleetwhisper and Adderflight have also not been seen since perhaps last night, or this morning." His head angled downward to look at the pair of cats under the stone.
"And then, on patrol Sootpaw, Vulturepaw, Redeye, Owlfeather and Weaselflight found our own Cherrysong had been killed, by whom however, we cannot say." He crouched even lower, belly against the rock as he peered over its edge, catching whichever eyes he could.
"They met a Dawnclan patrol, and found two more Dawnclan cats also killed. Thankfully, no more blood was shed, and I commend those cats for their actions." He nodded at the mentioned patrol cats, though he knew they would hardly feel proud of having stumbled across such a situation.
"These are difficult times, but I ask you to find strength in yourself, and your clanmates. Alone, we are weak but together we are strong. If Dawnclan had a part to play in Cherrysongs death, we will make them remember our strength." Blackstars muzzle had curled slightly, his voice rising in strength.
"We will find our missing kin, and we will survive. The days are dark, but if we only had the light, we would never see the stars." He shook his pelt, giving a last scan of his clan, his family.
"No cat is to leave without at last two others with them. Apprentices are not to go out alone. Report anything unusual, no matter how small. And rest. There will be no Dusk patrol tonight. Any cat able come tell me, we will sit guard until dawn." He paused once more, this time looking down at Cherrysong once more.
"Share tongues one last time with Cherrysong. We will bury her when the sun rises." With that, the black tom dropped from his position, looking a bit more weary now that his paw were on the earth.
Padding over to Cherrysong, he crouched across from where Harepaw and Dustpelt lay, pressing his muzzle into her fur. The first words he muttered were into her fur, to quiet to hear. For a few moments, he remained in that position, then rose. His eye was narrowed thoughtfully, the yellow glare softer than ever.
"Starclan stole you to soon." He muttered, shaking his head slightly before his gaze fell onto Harepaw. He knew nothing but time would heal the young cats heart, so he did not speak, but as he passed he bent slightly, giving the she-cat a few rasps atop her head, a fathery gesture. Then, he padded softly towards the camp entrance, where a small stone provided both a vantage point, and a shelter from the rain. On his route, he angled towards the apprentice den, slowing as he peered at the two toms who watched from its depths.
"Friendship is often the best remedy for heartbreak. Support each other, it it what makes us strong." He mewed gently, studying Sootpaw, and Vulturepaw for a moment before making it to his post at the camp entrance.
There, he settled onto his belly, head swiveling every so often to peer through the foliage, and then at the clan within.
Dustpelt|Warrior of Duskclan|Leggy Calico Tom|Location: Duskclan camp|Mentions: Harepaw, Weaselflight
Dustpelt couldn't bear to see his apprentice looking so small, the bundle of energy from that morning seeming a distant memory. He padded close, and as carefully as he could lay so that his side pressed against her free one, his tail curling around the small she-cat. He was gentle enough that if she wanted her solitude, she could wiggle free but close enough that the heat from his own fur could pass to her.
His head angled upwards, though one ear was tilted towards Harepaw, the other towards the Warriors den. They betrayed where his thoughts truly were. He knew that the clan was ruffled at the news, the stirrings of sadness and anger rippling through the cats like water. But they were scared, and tired, and Dustpelt could feel that sense of fear that happened when uncertainty reigned. Then, Blackstar lept down and the clan could breath again, errupting into small murmurs and cats reateating back to rest, or share tongues with Cherrysong.
Dustpelt looked away as Blackstar muttered his own words, and comforts to Harepaw. He himself, for once didn't have much to say. This was different from anything he had experienced thus far in the forest. For a moment, he couldn't help but think of his long past two-leg nest, warm and safe. There he wouldn't be sitting in the wet and dirt, with the pain of loss in his heart. His head suddenly shook, erasing such thoughts. Even if it was better in the moment, he wouldn't trade all the forest had to offer just because it had some bad. As if to solidify his resolution, he stayed by Harepaw and Cherrysong for some time, occasionally giving Harepaw a rasp or two across the fur where rogue rain drops fell from the stone above. Still, eventually he rose to his paws, grimacing slightly. Though the night was not cold by far, the mud and water had caused some stiffness in his joints from laying so un-movingly for so long. He gave Harepaw one last gesture of comfort, then padded slowly back to the Warriors den, slipping into its depths. He shuffled in his moss for a moment, then plopped down half in his own, half in Weaselflights. He buried himself amids moss and fur, head tucked into his tail.
"I think it'll stop raining soon." He mewed quietly, before closing his eyes.
Gingerstar | DawnClan Leader | 48 Moons | Mollie | Camp | Entire Clan
Gingerstar was sitting near the entrance to her den when the first shouts began to arise. She whipped around, intercepted quickly by Umbraclaw. The dark deputy gave her a brief explanation of what had happened, and when she heard Lightsong's howls she sprang onto the root and gave an earsplitting yowl. "EVERYONE SHUT UP!"
She waited for the shouts and cries of despair and confusion to settle, and she glowered down at the clan. "Lightsong," she snapped, her piercing gaze locking onto the tom, "you lost your mother today, and for that you shall receive no punishment. Blind accusations will lead you nowhere. Take one look in my direction and tell me that I don't look like a cat who will get Sunspots, Mousefur, and Dewmist the justice they deserve at whatever the cost. If you've settled, you are free to take your sisters and meet Ravenblaze and Hornetpaw to prepare your mother's body for the final sharing of tongues and burial."
She turned from the distraught warrior to face the rest of the clan. "DawnClan, I implore you to wait and look at facts before proclaiming guilt and launching vendettas. Today has been another dark day in DawnClan's history. If what Umbraclaw has told me is true, Sunspots and Dewmist were found dead on DuskClan's territory, alongside a DuskClan warrior- Cherrysong. The truth of this claim cannot perfectly be verified as of now, but StarClan as my witness, as soon as Sunspots and Dewmist have been safely seen on their way to join them and this clan is safely fortified, the training of a new Messenger will take place and a parley between our clans will be held to discuss these incidents."
She lashed her tail, the rain beginning to let up. "Earlier today, Cloudburst called to my attention a strange set of pawprints. The source of these was not a DawnClan cat, and I do not believe it to be a DuskClan cat either. If this is true, there may be something more sinister at work than a simple feud between our clans. The earlier rules are still in place. No cat is to endanger themselves or this clan for the sake of glory. If you see something, say something. We will not let another cat of DawnClan lose their lives senselessly. In addition to this, a night guard will be stationed at the entrance to camp. I want two cats there each night, switch at moonhigh and then at dawn the final shift is finished. See Umbraclaw for these assignments.
"For now, let us share tongues with the valiant warriors who lost their lives today for the last time. They have left behind family, children, siblings, mothers and fathers, mates. We must join together to help fill the void that they have left in their wake."
She lunged from the rock, muddying her chest and belly further as she landed in a puddle of murky water. Her gaze locked onto Umbraclaw, and she jerked her head in the direction of the den, slipping inside. She turned to face her with narrow eyes once they were inside. "Now, run it over with me in more detail."
If you ask too many questions, or seek too much approval, nothing ever gets done
Lightsong|Warrior of Dawnclan|Yellow tom|Location: camp|Mentions: Foxpaw, Flamepaw, Sunspots.
Lightsong hung his head, gathering his pain deep inside him. He had gotten carried away with the sight of his mother's body fueling his rage. Jumping to conclusions was not an intelligent thing to do. Though the Dustclan cats were of impure blood and questionable morals, it could be many things that could have caused his mothers death.
He should feel embarrassed for his behavior, but all he felt was detachment. He had spent all his emotions already.
Lightsong lifted his pale blue eyes to his sisters, ears pricked towards them to pick up on every sound. They looked so small and young and his heart broke a little at the sight.
He laid his yellow tail across Flamepaw's back gently, careful to not startle his sister. He did not know what to say to the both of them. Lightsong screwed his eyes shut, not able to have to deal with the responsibility of comforting his sisters. Nothing he could say would make anything better for them. They would still all be standing on the wet ground next to the body of the cat they loved.
“She walks with Starclan now,” Lightsong said, using his faith as a shield to block his grief. “She will watch over us all along with our other siblings.”
Lightsong's lips twitched at the thought of his mother being reunited with his brothers Redkit and Slatekit along with Foxpaws and Flamepaws littermate Mintpaw in Starclan, but another part of him twinged with jealousy. His mother should be with Flamepaw, Foxpaw, and himself. It was low of him to be jealous of dead kits, but for once Lightsong let himself dwell on the dark feeling.
He touched Foxpaws paw, gathering his younger siblings up in an embrace. He pressed himself against his sister's sides for a few moments, then he thought back on Gingerstars words. They needed to see the medicine cats to prepare there mother for burial.
“Let us bury the dead,” Lightsong said softly.
Owlfeather|Duskclan|Deputy|36 Moons Old|Siamese She-Cat|Location: |Mention(s) Directly: Blackstar, Cherrysong|Mention(s) Indirectly: Orion, Scorch
Owlfeather was one of the few cats, sitting in the rain, most cats were sitting in the openings of dens and trying to stay dry. The she-cat stood straight, her paws close and her tail tightly wrapped around herself. The rain drops beat down on her, but she did not really feel anything. The siamese she-cat listened to her leaders words, Owlfeathers eyes were trained forward, on Cherrysong body. The deputy seemed to wake up out of a trance, when Blackstar finished the meeting and jumped down.
Getting to her paws, Owlfeathers body hurt, it felt cold and stiff. Walking forward, the she-cat buried her nose in Cherrysong shoulder. "I'm sorry", she whispered, so silently that she doubted that anyone else heard. Giving the she-cat shoulder a gentle lick, Owlfeather stood up straight again. Looking around, her eyes fell on the warriors den. The siamese deputy let out a sigh, no she did not feel up to going to sleep. As she passed Blackstar, the deputy taped the leaders shoulder lightly with her tail. Heading for the entrance of camp, the deputy sat guard. She would not expect anyone else to stand guard tonight and to be honest, she would rather be alone right now anyway. Owlfeather looked out into nothingness, her eyes not really focusing on anything. The deputies mind drifted, to a different time and place, back before she joined the clan.
-The young siamese she-cat was running through the forest, two toms where racing after her. The three young cats were chasing after a rabbit, well not really, the rabbit just happened to be in front of them. "Come on, slow down already, Owl", Orion called from behind her. Looking over her shoulder, Owl gave a laugh. "Why? Only so the two of you could win? Never", the young she-cat told her littermates. Instead of slowing down, Owl speed up. Soon she was coming up to a large fallen tree, the finish line. As she reached it, Owl slowed to a stop, her sides where hieving, but there was a smile on her face. She had won, again. Looking back at her brothers, Orion, a large muscular black young tom, and Scorch, a young tom who looked exactly like her, the young she-cat laughed. "Finally, I've been waiting ages for you", Owl said, gloatingly, as Scorch came up to her panting hard. "Not all of us can be as fast as you, sister", the siamese tom complained between breaths. Suddenly a shadow fell over them, Orion had apparently made a last sprint for the finish, which also did not help him, but instead gave him too much momentum. Sliding on the wet leaves under his large paws, the large black tome came up on his littermates. Owl let out a squeele of surprise and tried to move, but it was too late. Orion barroled into them both and they fell down an embankment. Laying there stunned, but not hurt, for a few moments, they suddenly started laughing.-
A large raindrop landed on the she-cats nose, waking her from her day dream. Owlfeather let out a sigh and drew her tail around herself, trying to keep warm. How she missed those carefree days. A deep sigh left her, only to turn into a cough.
