Dawnclan Territory:
Dawnclan's territory is lightly forested, with wider, slow rivers connecting to the two small central lakes. The terrain is moss covered and gently hilly. A sandy area on the edge of a shallow river is their training area, and to the south is the two-leg gathering place where small nests nestle between thin cut trees on the edge of a small lake, which merges into the two-leg town the more south one goes.
The camp is nestled in a dip in the land, with a series of rocks that make shelters for the Leader and Medicine cat dens, as well as the nursery. The rest of the nests are in old burrows, the edge of the camp sheltered with prickly brambles. It is spacious and open, with plenty of places to relax on moss covered stones or tussle in soft grass.
the territory is marked to the east and north by a large, uncrossable river. To the south by the two-leg camp ground, and to the east by their boundary with Duskclan, which is marked most notably by a large spread of rocks along a thin river that eventually turns into Duskclan terrain. It is a spot of much conflict.

Duskclan Territory:
Duskclan's territory lies to the east side of the territories, in thicker forest where mist lingers longer in the mornings, and navigation requires agility and precision. The rivers here are often thinner, but more wild with faster waters in many of the places. Their training area is a clear patch of forest where the ground is soft and a fallen log and tree stumps provide a boundary.
Their camp is nestled up, and along the side of a hill that inclines sharply, with pathways between and going up its walls. The dens nestle close together, with the Leaders den above inside a fallen tree root system, the medicine cat below in the same system. The dens are in a mixture of burrows and makeshift nests in the brush, some nests in the jagged hill walls. Outside the nests they have a spacious area for sharing tongues and meetings, protected by thick foliage and the numerous rocks.
Their territory is marked by a sheer cliff drop to the east, an uncross able river to the north, the two-legs to the south, and their border with Dawnclan.
2000px-Decorative_text_divider.svg.png

 CURRENT EVENTS
Two-legs are in the territory!
Currently due to the nice weather, two-legs have been more prevalent than normal, walking along the paths that trace between both clans.
Though they often leave cats alone, the threat of dogs and scared prey is high.

NEWS

CLUES

Two-leg traps have been found in both clans.
A Dawnclan cat was killed by an unknown source.

⇺ [ Redeye ] ⇻
36 Moons • Male • DuskClan • Warrior
Location: River Rocks • Mentions: Foxpaw, Flamepaw, Scorchwing, Owlfeather, Umbraclaw, Larkclaw, Blackstar

Flamepaw's arrival posed another threat, but Redeye refused to release her sister until Owlfeather ordered it so. Scorchwing appeared just in time to yank the struggling young cats away and seeing that the potential for a fight had ended, Redeye stepped back to stand behind Owlfeather as Umbraclaw rushed forward to speak with them. Holding the apprentice down without injuring her had come with a cost, her claws leaving more than a few cuts behind. The mud soaking his white pelt hid most of it from view, but the scent of blood was still faintly detectable under the scent of rain.

Foxpaw and Flamepaw were instructed to return to camp with their mother's body, and Redeye's expression remained sympathetic as he gazed upon the ginger apprentices. His time with DuskClan had showed him the bond between a parent and their kit was strong among Clan cats, that most cats genuinely loved their offspring. Redeye had not shared such a relationship with his own parents, but there'd been other cats he'd felt bound to, cats whose deaths had turned his whole world upside down. He imagined this must feel something like that for them, if not worse. He doubted his words would offer the sisters any comfort, and no doubt they wouldn't want to hear from a cat they were convinced murdered their mother, so he remained silent.

Once Larkclaw led the young cats away, the body carried between them, Redye sat back on his haunches, once more feeling impossibly tired. Though the remainder of the DawnClan patrol could still attack, he didn't think they would, Scorchwing and Umbraclaw had both proven reasonable thus far. "Blackstar is on his way," he commented, unsure whether or not they should wait for the black tom before allowing Umbraclaw full access to rocks. Her request was fair, of course, but at this point, they might as well wait. The rival deputy's gratitude was shocking to him, but he nodded awkwardly in acknowledgment of her thanks all the same.

Larkclaw
15 Moons || Female || DawnClan Warrior
Location: River Rocks || Mentions: DawnClan Patrol, DuskClan Patrol, Sunspots [NPC, Deceased]

Larkclaw hadn’t made it too far following the trail before the sound of muddy paws drew her attention. She lifted her head in time to see Foxpaw bolt towards the river, and could just see the apprentice around a tree. For a moment she stayed by the paw prints, not wishing to lose the path, until she realized that they seemed to be heading toward the same direction that Foxpaw was looking at. A suspicion that they were closer to the border than she thought was confirmed when she heard the red molly say, “DuskClan cats!” as if she had spit out crow-food.

Within a few moments, her sister Flamepaw joined her and Larkclaw watched as they gazed across the river. Their legs looked rigid, as if they were angry or afraid, making her concerned. She began to head that way, trying to keep a calm gait despite the wretched weather they were having and the growing feeling in her chest that something wasn’t right. Scorchwing passed her to reach the two apprentices first, and the shrill tone that came after that brought Larkclaw racing up to the edge of the tree line, where the ground turned more rocky. DuskClan cats hovered near the body of a brightly colored cat, and her entire body felt a cold chill as she realized who it was. “StarClan, no...”

Before either of the warriors could react, Foxpaw catapulted herself towards the cats, clearly enraged and itching for vengeance. If not for the strange DuskClan cat Redeye appearing at that moment to try to pin down the distressed apprentice, far worse things could have happened. She quickly followed behind Scorchwing, keeping back a bit so she could keep a watch on all three DuskClan cats at once. While she doubted that they would attack, the area still didn’t feel safe to her.

It wasn’t until Umbraclaw gave the command to take Sunspots back to camp that she moved from her position. The tabby she-cat put herself between the two apprentices and the DuskClan cats as she signaled them with her tail to come with her. If they actually listened, she’d walk over to Sunspots with them and say, “Help me get her onto my back. I’ll carry most of her weight. There will be time to avenge her once we have seen her off to StarClan.”

Flamepaw|Dawnclan|Apprentice|13 Moons Old|Ginger She-Cat|Location: Border|Mention(s) Directly: Umbraclaw, Scorchwing, Foxpaw, Sunspots|Mention(s) Indirectly: Duskclan cats

Flamepaw stood up a bit straighter, more out of surpris than anything else. The ginger she-cat looked over, as Scorchwing cam over, with Umbraclaw close on er mentors heels. Flamepaw had stood back already, she had not been interested in fighting the siamese she-cat, that had stopped the young she-cat from attacking. A growl came from the ginger tabby apprentice, when Scorchwing dragged her away. What was she, a kit? Flamepaw and her sister where almost old enough to be warriors.
Flamepaw looked over, first to her mentor and than the Dawnclan deputy. Flamepaw then solemnly nodded her head, walking a few steps forward, the apprentice placed her tail on Foxpaws side. Without saying anything, the young she-cat nodded to where their mother lay. Walking forward, Flamepaw slowly made her way to her mother's side. Her legs seemed hevey, almost being dragged down by the water trickling off her pelt. Flamepaw reached her mother's side, Sunspot's usually beautiful coat was drenched in water. If it was not her own mother, Flamepaw doubted that she would recognise the she-cat. Leaning down, Flamepaw nuzzled Sunspots cheek. Her mother was cold and wet, there was none of the loving warm that Flamepaw remembered left in her mother.
Standing back up, Flamepaw looked around to the other cats. Dawnclan and Duskclan cats seemed to be everywhere, she did doubt that the Duskclan cats would do this, still the she-cat was wearry being around so many unfamiliar cats and being on the other clans territory. Flamepaw looked up, almost numb, as Larkclaw told them what to do. Moving forward, she lifted her mother up by her side.

Owlfeather|Duskclan|Deputy|36 Moons Old|Siamese She-Cat|Location: Border|Mention(s) Directly: Umbraclaw, Redeye, Weasleflight, Foxpaw, Flamepaw|Mention(s) Indirectly: Blackstar

The Duskclan deputy stood back a bit, as a white and charcoal she-cat pulled the two apprentices away. The siamese she-cat waved her tail, to stop either of the Duskclan warriors from peruing the apprentices. Stepping forwards a bit, Owlfeather met the black mollie. If she remembered correctly this was Dawnclans deputy, Umbraclaw. Owlfeather solemnly nodded her head, at Umbraclaws words. "Yes, you are right", the Duskclan deputy answered. "I was the one that brought that body over", Owlfeather said, nodding to the cold, wet body lying close to the Dawnclan cat. "There was nothing around it, no tracks nor scents, it was probably washed away by the rain", Owlfether concluded, looking back to the Dawnclan deputy, Owlfeather asked, "Was this also one of your warriors?"
Not really waiting for Umbraclaw to answer, Owlfeather turned around to look at Weasleflight, "Weasleflight, can you take her to where you found the body and...", the deputy paused for a moments, as Redeye suddenly commented that Blackstar was close. Turning to look at the white and now mud covered tom, the deputy looked him over. Redeye had several scratches and scrapes, from the young ginger apprentice. Owlfeather snickered lightly, a young apprentice had done that to the warrior, she would not let him live that down. "Alright", turning back to the Dawnclan deputy, Owlfeather dipped her head, "Do you mind waiting for our leader to come?", the siamese she-cat asked the black mollie.

Foxpaw|Apprentice of Dawnclan|Small Ginger Tabby She-cat|Location: Clan Borders|Mentions: Weaselflight, Redeye, Flamepaw, Larkclaw, Scorchwing, Umbraclaw, Blackstar

png-divider-lines-elegant-flourish-floral-decorative-680.png

Foxpaw hadn't expected the white cat, and the sheer size difference and surprise caught her off her paws. With claws flailing she struggled against the tom that held her, but with the mud and rain all technique had gone out the door, and she was fighting on pure instinct. She didn't realize he was being gentle, and she didn't care. She felt her claws meet a few times in the struggle, before she felt herself be freed. She nearly flew at the tom again, but this time felt the scruff of her neck get caught, teeth biting into her to pull her back. She writhed against the warrior, but exaustion was catching up to the cat and as she was dumped next to Flamepaw, she did not bolt forward again, but remained crouched, quivering in frustration, mud streaked and glaring.
When Umbraclaw spoke her orders, Foxpaw growled low in her throat, but remained quiet. The look in her eyes however, had shifted slightly, the narrowed anger giving way to something much more cold. She stared at Umbraclaw for a moment as she strode towards the Duskclan deputy. It was only when Larkclaw spoke that she turned her attention back to the cats nearby. She watched Flamepaw help the warrior, but she herself did not move, only her whiskers twitching as Flamepaw's tail met her side when she passed. She let Flamepaw help life Sunspots, and only when they seemed to move forward did she finally break her statuesque pose.

"Fine." It was all she said. It was difficult to tell what she was exactly responding too, the words not directed at any cat in particular. Still, with one long, last look at the Duskclan cats she rose to her full height out of the mud, and began to follow the others, trailing behind with her ears flattened against her skull, and her tail lashing. She did not look at either of them, and did not speak.

Blackstar|Leader of Duskclan|One eyed Black Tom|Location: River rocks|Mentions: Redeye, Scorchwing, Umbraclaw, Weaselflight, Flamepaw, Foxpaw, Larkclaw, Owlfeather

Blackstar had slowed his gait, and in that moment the leggy white warrior had passed him, pulling ahead of the race. He pondered the toms last words.
"Starclan is always watching." He muttered to the toms retreating back, before he moved ever forward. The mud was slick however, and though he knew their territory like his own pelt, his single eye was a hindrance in the rain, when sound and smell was difficult to find in the situation. Even still he sprinted onward, especially when a yowl was heard on the wind. He sprang into the clearing, his head wiveling swiftly from side to side taking in the scene. From Redeye removing himself from a Dawnclan apprentice, to the Dawnclan deputy speaking with Owlfeather.
For a moment he was silent, and then he stalked forward.

The shift in Blackstar's demenor was subtle, but clear. While among his clan-mate he was stern but friendly, there was only sharpness in his single gaze, his movements calculated and his muscles tensed under his coat, now sleek from the rain. He nodded once at Owlfeather, to show he had caught the deputies last few words before fixing his attention at the Dawnclan cat, Umbraclaw. Though is voice remained level, his claws unseathed into the earth not as a sign of fight, but of reflex, digging into their territory, claiming the dirt beneath his paws. He knew that there was still tension between the clans, but even he knew that a fight among the river and rocks would do nothing but cause more death. Even still, he wanted to prove they would if they must.

"You're on our side of the border." His eyes twitched to the two deceased cats, his muzzle wrinkling slightly in an unreadable expression.
"And so it seems, were your clan-mates." His eye blinked slowly, and he swiveled his head back towards the she-cat.
"I don't know what happened here, and only the spirits of cats now passed could tell the truth." His tail tip twitched, and he fixed Umbraclaw with an unblinking stare, not even flinching when droplets of water bounced off his nose. It was perhaps his most unsettling trait, the single gaze seeming to peer into a cat from the immovable tom.

"But enough blood has been spilt tonight. Take your kin, you will find no trouble from Duskclan tonight." With that he turned from Umbraclaw, not directly addressing his own clan.
"Go back to camp. We need to make sure everyone is accounted for." He turned towards Owlfeather and Weaselflight.
"We will get Cherrysong's body as we return." His tone was still carefully level, though laced with a clear, no arguments edge. Without another word, he twitched his ears to signal the cats to move, waiting in the rear with his eyes on the Dawnclan cats.

Dustpelt|Warrior of Duskclan|Leggy Calico Tom|Location: Duskclan Territory/Camp|Mentions: Harepaw, open

Dustpelt had chuckled at Harepaws words, shaking his head both in amusement, and to clear the rainwater from his eyes. As she mentioned Fernfoot however, the chuckle that came was a bit wry.
"It is, for many cats all they need in life." He glanced over his shoulder, both towards Harepaw and towards the two-leg place they left behind.
"Food, warmth. An unscarred pelt, and any comfort you're two-leg can be trained to give." He mused, slightly lose in the memory. Though he had only spent a short time as a kitty-pet, even he would not deny it had not been a bad experience.
"But, a cat that lives with the wind in their fur, and the dirt under paw could never find peace there. The forest, from the rustle in the trees to the scrabbles of a mouses claws, it calls to you." For a moment, Dustpelt looked less like the foolish, playful tom and a bit more like a well weathered warrior, as he stepped with pride, chest out and head turned upward to the sky. "Fernfoot will find their way back, I'm sure of it. Then, he gave a shake like a dog and the illusion broke.
"Now then, lets get out of this rain and away from the creepy crawlers lurking in the trees." He picked up his pace, trying to find the driest paths until they made it back to the camp. Slipping in, he looked around with his usual excited face, though to find it so empty was a bit unnerving. Even still, he brushed it off though his pelt prickled.
"Make sure to get dry." He called to Harepaw, already trotting to sit under a jutting rock. Although the Green-leaf days were warm, the rain was still cool enough to put a chill in a cats body if left soaking. With ears pricked towards the entrance, he began to groom out the water best he could, trying to ignore the tension growing in his gut.

News/Event for Anyone
The storm rages on.

Lightsong|Warrior of Dawnclan|Yellow tom|Location: camp|Mentions: Foxpaw, Flamepaw, Sunspots

Lightsong curled up in the den, plumy tail wrapped around his nose as he made himself as small as possible. The storm raged overhead with a ferocity that he could not match. He just wanted to sleep.

He felt like there was something wrong. He didn’t know what it was, but his pelt was standing on edge and every instinct was telling him to run and never stop running.

It was madness to be this this nervous, but every single member of his kin was out in the storm. Foxpaw and Flamepaw were mouse brains, but they grounded him in a way no one else did. They were both brave little cats and they made him feel like he could be brave too. If they were here they would probably make fun of his flight of fancy.

His parents were out there too, but Lightsong worried less about them. They were both brave, mighty warriors. When he had been younger he had always been confused that they had had a kit like him. Now he knew that it was alright. He walked another path.

Lightning cracked above and Lightsong screwed his eyes shut. The clouded sky and den roof blocked out the sun. The Darkness pressed around him like a living thing, suffocating him in its malevolent embrace. When he was a kit he imagined the darkness huge black cat settling down over him and blocking him off from the world. He knew it was silly to be scared now. Starclan would protect him.

Only in the darkness can we see the stars.” Lightsong muttered into his light ginger chest fur.

His mentor had always been muttering phrases like that. His old mentor Mousefur praised Starclan above all, and had a lot of wisdom they had passed on to Lightsong. Unbelievers may have thought there were mad, but Lightsong knew they walked a path of holyness.

Only in the darkness can we see the stars.” Lightsong said again, curling up even tighter.

It was no use. He did not have enough faith to stay in the den when his nerves were tingling like this. Lightsong rose to his unsteady feet. He ducked out of the den, shivering as the rain hit his pelt like an attack from the sky.

He stared towards the entrance to the camp in a silent vigal. The rain plastered his medium length fur to his sides, but still he waited. He was driven by something other then reason.

Bluepaw|DawnClan Apprentice|Blue She-cat| Camp|Mentions: Swiftclaw (ID)
_______
Bluepaw jumped up and down with hyperness. She wanted to go help the other cats, especially since so many cats have been turning up dead lately. She then settled down, remembering the current situation. She curled up in her nest, all excitement gone. She shivered as the cold reached her bones.

Her thoughts turned to her parents, now dead. She didn't like to think about them- it was too hard. Bluepaw shook her head, clearing her head. She wondered how the meeting with Blackstar went. Did they get to see the dead cats? She sighed, laying her head in her paws.

Cloudburst || 26 moons || Female || Dawnclan Warrior/Queen (4 weeks) || Long white fur with dilute tabby calico marks || polydactyl || Location{Dawnclan camp} || Mentions {directly-Hornetpaw, Gingerstar, Ravenblaze, Mousefur} {indirectly-Lightsong}

Cloudburst knodded slowly before resting her eyes on the ground, sitting and waiting to be scolded like an apprentice who snuck out to hunt on their own. The rain drenched her coat, slicking her fur to her body, revealing that the she-cat was in fact heavily pregnant, something her usual fluff sometimes hid. She turned her head to look at her sides, feeling somewhat stupid for even thinking leaving was a good idea in her state, there was no telling what could have happened to the three, it wasn't like any of them could really protect themselves. A medicine cat, his apprentice and a queen, it sounded like the beginning of a bad joke. As she was lost in her thoughts, she caught a flash of orange fur. It was lightsong, looking somewhat anxious as usual, stepping out of the warrior's den. I wonder how he feels about this whole situation... she thought to herself. After all, he had been mentored by Mousefur- in fact, she and Mousefur were mates a moon and a half before he was given his warrior name.

It was a bit strange to think about, she was an apprentice when she and Mousefur first began their journey together, it was all kept on the downlow, but she was sure the clan knew. Especially considering how quickly they had become public after she was given her own name. She couldn't help but smile at the memories of sneaking away from camp in the night and watching the stars with the tom. A warm feeling came over her as she began to realize that his memory was going to live on in the cats around her, but she was quickly drawn out of her memories when she realized she had been staring. The smile faded from her face as she was pulled from the warm memories of Mousefur and back into the rainy, grey world they seemed to have been stuck in for the past few days. All the while, she was still half expecting for them to get scolded by the leader, though she wasn't completely sure it was going to happen, she looked back to Ravenblaze and Hornetpaw to see if they had gone off or stayed as well.

Lightsong|Warrior of Dawnclan|Yellow tom|Location: camp|Mentions: Cloudburst.

Lightsong pelt pricked as he felt someone staring at him as he looked towards the Camp enterance. He turned his head to see Cloudburst looking at him, her long coat drenched in rain. The she cat looked ridiculously small, even smaller then normal without her fluff. In apprentice training she had been the only one Lightsong had stood a fighting chance again, and even then she had usually beaten him.

He remembered her quite well from his apprentice days because of how much time she had spent with his mentor Mousefur. She had been only a moon older then his own apprentice, but Mousefur had spent half his time making eyes at the cute little she-cat. Lightsong would have been jealous if he had a stronger relationship with Mousefur. He had never really meshed with his mentor. Mousefur had been a great warrior and had found him dreamy and strange. All their conversations had been forced.

Lightsong had spent most of his time as an apprentice with Blueraven. The she-cat had been been devoted and pure, and Lightsong had known she had walked a path among the stars. He had always wished she was his mentor, until she died that is.

Even if Lightsong hadn’t particularly liked Mousfur, he had stil felt for Cloudburst when her mate died. The she-cat was always disarmingly kind to everyone. He had sent a prayer to Starclan that she would be alright.

Lightsong sighed, looking towards the entrance He didn’t know what he was doing. He might as well talk to Cloudburst to keep his mind off things. Lightsong shook out his sodden fur and padded over to Cloudburst.

“Greetings” He mewed formally, inclining his head towards the Queen.

Weaselflight | DuskClan Warrior | 21 Moons | Tom | River Rocks | Owlfeather, Cherrysong; Unknown Bodies; Foxpaw; Umbraclaw; Flamepaw; Scorchwing; Redeye; Blackstar; Dustpelt; Harepaw

Weaselflight felt himself growing weaker and weaker in his limbs as things went on. When the first ginger apprentice lunged, he couldn't even lift a paw to defend himself. He was exceptionally startled but also relieved by Redeye's return, and ended up just screwing his eyes shut and crouching down deeper into the mud, trying to pretend it wasn't happening anymore. When things finally settled, he cracked open his gaze, blurry from rain and exhaustion, and listened with mouth slightly ajar as Owlfeather navigated the tensions with the DawnClan deputy. He believed her name was Umbraclaw, but he'd certainly never spoken with her.

When Owlfeather asked him to lead Umbraclaw to where the bodies were found, he opened his mouth to protest that by now all the smells would be long washed away. Stars, their patrol hadn't even been aware she was there for a longer time than should have been because of this forsaken rain. Before he could speak, however, Blackstar sprang into view, inserting himself into the conversation and very coolly dismissing the DawnClan cat.

Weaselflight hoisted himself onto his feet then, sensing he was unwanted, starting to walk away before their leader turned to address them. He nodded weakly, and headed off. His paws dragged, but he carried himself with as much poise as he could muster. He trailed slowly after Redeye, until they found where Cherrysong's frail body lay in the rain. He waited for the others to gather, and did his part in maneuvering the dead mollie onto someone's back. He then trailed alongside them, using his own body to stabilize the deceased warrior upon her perch. When they finally crept into camp, he couldn't feel his limbs. He helped set Cherrysong down, pressed his nose into her fur for just a moment, and then rose, his tired yellow gaze seeking Dustpelt.

He caught sight of the dappled tom, and approached as quickly as his legs could carry him. He pressed in close, and murmured, "I-It's Cherrysong. Harepaw's going to n-need you," and then left the other young warrior to his thoughts. He slipped into the warrior's den, dripping mud, blood, and rainwater. He made no effort to groom himself as he collapsed into his nest, his torn claw throbbing and causing swelling in the surrounding skin. It was drenched in mud as well, which could certainly do it no help in the healing process. Sniffling, he wrapped his tail around himself and let his droopy eyes stare from the den in silence.

Is this what Darkpaw imagined for our life? he asked himself miserably, letting his eyes slipped closed. He hoped that his brother was there waiting for him in the skies, guiding him through this nightmarish reality they had left their homes to become apart of.
Better safe than sorry

Mothpaw | Duskclan | Medicine cat apprentice | 13 Moons old | location: territory | Mentions (D) open (ID) Blackstar, Flamepaw |

Mothpaw could feel his heart thumping wildly against his chest as the storm raged on outside. No matter how much time seemed to pass, the apprentices body would not calm down. He could feel his nerves growing as he waited silently for Blackstar to return, so that Mothpaw could relay his possible message from Starclan. With a sigh, the apprentice turned his head away from the dens entrance and the wetness outside. His mind began to wounder to Flamepaw while he waited. The apprentice hoped that the ginger cat was safe in her camp, and not out in the storm.

Scorchwing | Warrior of DawnClan | Long-Limbed White & Charcoal Female | Location: River Rocks | Mentions: DawnClan Patrol ; DuskClan Patrol ; Deceased at River Rocks [Direct]

Scorchwing turned to look at the black tom that lead the Clan of patchwork cats. She hadn’t seen him before this day, and his demeanor didn’t surprise her. Nor did the one eye that had locked onto the deputy. Scorchwing straightened her posture and stared right back at him, refusing to be unnerved. After all, if they did attack her and her Clanmate, she could always take his other eye. The thought made her snort.

Despite her obvious disdain for being told what to do by some kittypet lover, she understood the tension and the desire to keep interlopers off your own land. With a sigh, she turned to go towards the other body, unsure of who they were with the fur limp and waterlogged and lacking any strong scent. As she got closer, a frown etched its way onto her maw.

A familiar scar caught her attention. A singular, jagged mark that stretched from spine down to the stomach. Scorchwing’s brow dipped and her pace quickened. A sense of dread pulsed within her gut. It was Dew. Blue flecked eyes, devoid of life and light, stared off into the trees. The sound of the rain—harsh and obscuring—seemed to fizzle away as she stared down at her own kin. A choking sound left the warrior and her legs shook. Her eyes didn’t want to leave Dewmist’s face. “StarClan no. No, no, no, no, no.” Her distressed pleas to the stars couldn’t seem to reach through the sheets of icy rain that fell. “Umbraclaw, I- I need help!” Her whole body was shaking now, from the rain or from devastation, she didn’t know. But the world seemed to close in on her.

She needed to get her sister back and dry. Safe and sound. She instinctively ran through the mental list of her kins last known locations, her mind seeming to fight against her. Closing her eyes momentarily, she called to the deputy again, her typically strong voice cracking with heartbreak.

Harepaw | Apprentice of DuskClan | Small, Hickory & Cream Female | Location: DuskClan Territory -> Camp | Mentions: Dustpelt [Direct]

Harepaw watched her mentor with interest. Perhaps he did have something beneath his strange bravado, besides a strange capability of finding and starting trouble. She felt a strange pride swell in her chest for having the strange-smelling male as her teacher. And then he shook like a dog, shattering the mirage as she was sprayed with more water.

“Agh, you mouse-brain!” She chortled, giving him a playful glare before shaking her own pelt right back at him. “The nerve!” With a huff, she stuck close to him, but prepared to jump out of the way and hide if he were to pull the same trick again. “Sure, sure whatever you say fish-breath,” she grumbled, but was particularly glad they were getting away from whatever was nearby.

Once they reached camp, she didn’t cease her high-legged, quick paced trot, not taking any sort of notice to the empty camp that greeted her. She just wanted to get out of the rain and relax in her nest. After all, she did have her own little, benign adventure with her mentor. Despite the small scare the unknown creature gave her, she was rather elated.

She moved forward in a small bounce, casting a look over her shoulder at his call. She snorted—instantly regretting it as water entered with it—and waved her soaked tail as acknowledgement before she ducked into the apprentice’s den, shivering and pressed low to the floor as she worked on trying to get the water from her hickory and cream pelt.

Cloudburst || 26 moons || Female || Dawnclan Warrior/Queen (4 weeks) || Long white fur with dilute tabby calico marks || polydactyl || Location{Dawnclan camp} || Mentions {directly-Hornetpaw} {indirectly-Gingerstar, Ravenblaze, Mousefur (NPC)}

Cloudburst dipped her head to the younger tom as he came over, he had to have noticed she was staring, "Sorry, I zoned out..." she half mumbled looking to see Gingerstar had gone off, I guess we aren't going to get our ears chewed off. "How are you taking things?" she asked, referring to Mousefur's demise, "I know you two weren't- super- close, but he was still your mentor for a time." she focused on the ground, "It's eating me up inside." She looked to Hornetpaw and Ravenblaze again, to see if they had moved on, hopefully they would have something for her to do.

Vulturepaw || 10moons || Male || Duskclan apprentice {Mentor Redeye} || short dark brown/black tom with yellow eyes || deformed throat/trachea || Location {Duskclan Camp} || Mentions {directly- Sootpaw, Harepaw} {indirectly- }

Vulturepaw let out a sigh as he stared at the dust and dried nesting materials in front of his face, His ears flicked at the sound of another cat entering the den, I thought Sootpaw was already in the den? he thought, lifting his head to see who had entered. He froze when he saw the familiar pelt of Harepaw, his eyes grew wide and his muscles tensed, Images of her dead mother came back to his mind and he let out a small, gravely whimper, He could feel the tears welling up in his eyes and had to bite his lower lip to keep himself from blurting the news to the younger shecat. Vulturepaw's yellow orbits searched frantically for Sootpaw, hoping the older tom would be quick to keep Vulturepaw from spilling what he had seen.

Sootpaw | Duskclan Apprentice | 13 moons | Small, gray tabby tom | Location: Duskclan Camp | Mentions: (Direct) Harepaw, Vulturepaw (Indirect) Weaselflight

Sootpaw looked up as Harepaw moved past him as she entered the apprentice den. He watched the fellow apprentice carefully, almost hoping that she already knew, but it seemed that she was just casually going about her day. Sootpaw quickly looked away, a small sense of guilt forming in his stomach. Not telling Harepaw what had happened felt like he was telling a terrible lie, but surely it wasn't as bad as that, was it?
As he was trying to decide on the answer to that question, Sootpaw saw Weaselflight slip into camp, looking soaked and tired. The others wouldn't be far behind. Slowly, Sootpaw turned back around to face Harepaw as she tried to dry off. With surprise, he noticed that Vulturepaw, who he had thought was still sleeping, was staring with wide, pain-filled eyes. Sootpaw hastily went to Vulturepaw's nest, standing beside it and resting his tail on the small tom in an attempt to calm him, if only somewhat. Sootpaw's eyes met Vulturepaw's before he looked back at Harepaw, thinking over the situation. He didn't want to say it. He didn't have to. He could just wait for her to see for herself.
"...Harepaw", he called lowly, hoping he was doing the right thing.

Harepaw | Apprentice of DuskClan | Small, Hickory & Cream Female | Location: DuskClan Territory -> Camp | Mentions: Vulturepaw, Sootpaw [Direct]

Harepaw’s eyes were narrowed as her wet fur clung to her tongue. She groaned before looking up towards Sootpaw. She turned her paw over and used the pads to clean her tongue as she gave the young tom a questioning look. “Yeah? What’s with the look? You’re acting like I’m gonna claw your throat.”

She turned her attention to Vulturepaw who was tucked furthest from herself. Her head tilts slightly as she noticed a look of sadness and noticed a slight sheen to his eyes. “Are you guys alright? You look kinda, ya know…” She trailed off, eyes bouncing from the two apprentices awkwardly.

>⇺ [ Hornetpaw ] ⇻
18 Moons • Male • DawnClan • Medicine Cat Apprentice
Location: Camp • Mentions: Cloudburst, Lightsong, Ravenblaze

Much to his surprise, it appeared Gingerstar wasn't in any hurry to offer a lecture and Hornetpaw found himself hunched in the center of camp waiting for a scolding that was unlikely to be delivered any time soon. Unlike many of the other cats seeking shelter from the storm his pelt wasn't nearly as drenched, and despite his fear of deep water he didn't appear to resent the unrelenting raindrops as much as his Clanmates.

Poor Cloudburst looked terribly small and vulnerable with her own fur plastered to her sides, her swollen belly all the more apparent. He began padding toward her, prepared to lead her back to the medicine den so she could get out of the downpour when Lightsong appeared from the warrior's den and they began conversing.

He hesitated, unwilling to interrupt them and assumed Cloudburst would either return to the nursery or follow him inside if she was still interested in an activity."You should get out of the rain," he managed a soft suggestion before disappearing inside the medicine den, waiting for Ravenblaze to join him.

⇺ [ Redeye ] ⇻
36 Moons • Male • DuskClan • Warrior
Location: River Rocks • Mentions: Blackstar, Weaselflight, Owlfeather, DawnClan Patrol, Dustpelt

Redeye lingered as the rest of his Clanmates began to depart, witnessing Scorchwing's sorrow as she discovered the second body belonged to her kin, calling out for the DawnClan deputy's assistance. His troubled gaze lingered on the charcoal-furred she-cat for a moment longer before he turned and disappeared beyond the trees, arriving in time to see Cherrysong's body being uncovered from the ferns.

"I can help," he murmured softly. They had started the journey back to camp with her still form splayed across his back, it felt fitting it should end that way as well. He would complete the order Owlfeather gave him from the start despite his prior complaints. It was an easier task with Blackstar, Owlfeather, and Weaselflight around to help, but it was still a relief when they set paw in camp and she was lifted gently from his back and placed on the ground.

He collapsed a few paces away to catch his breath, watching as Wesealflight sought out Dustpelt before slinking into the warrior's den. He didn't blame the other tom for wanting to miss what came next, but shakily lifted himself to his paws and approached Dustpelt looking uncharacteristically gloomy. "We found her at the river rocks along with two DawnClan cats, all dead," he murmured, nodding his head towards Cherrysong, his voice no more than a whisper. "You should be the one to tell Harepaw." He was surprised the young she-cat hadn't already realized something was amiss, but perhaps it was better she be told before seeing this terrible truth.
