He was a little stunned. Taking a moment to think before responding.

" I suppose we've both done things we.. weren't proud of." He sighs. Pushing around his food before talking again.

" It must have been rough.. all of that." He offers- looking at her with sympathy. " Does.. Cavewalkers know you killed him..?" He asks sheepishly. Unsure of the answer.

Kenai | Sunbaked

Kenai is relaxing in the shade on her back, lazily pawing at the air to swat away at a beetle that was set to rest on her face. With her last attempt, the beetle flew away to avoid the swiping paws of the dwarf, heading downwards. Deciding she had unfinished business with said beetle Kenai rolled over to stand, following where the beetle had gone. When looking to where the beetle had dropped Kenai stopped mid-walk, seeing another dwarf picking up a different beetle from a mound, with grub in paw as he walked away towards the border.


Raising a brow Kenai decided to follow him as she carefully jumped down from her high place, curiosity getting the best of her. Kenai had seen him before, mostly near the healer's den but wasn't lingering there for long, often disappearing in the blink of an eye. She was always curious about him as he differed from what she was used to.

He never spoke, had an annoying face almost 24/7 when around the other healer, and disappeared randomly. So here Kenai was, following behind the dwarf male in the grass, tail swishing back and forth with curiosity.

"They thought Egypt did it... Because he brought him herbs before I fed him. Let's just say what they did wasn't pretty. They have something called the Monster's Cavern. When someone does something treasonous, they're put in there for a month with a rotten carcass filled with Fruitflies and smeared in Baobob juice and warthog dung.." Wayward shuddered. "I decided it was time I brought Angelic home. Then on my journey back he started to present Primal features." She drew on the ground with her claw. "If they found out what I did they wouldn't forgive me. Plus Nzinga has died. I saw all three of them together, they're all Happy. Hell, even Brutus is going by Mossyfuzz again. That was his name before he became a Brutalclaw." She laughed. "Worst of all the Cavewalkers wanted to change my name. They said that it needed to be one of their own, and that I had shed that skin again. They started calling me Surefoot."

Bongo|Sunbaked

The male had walked for a good hour now- taking odd pathways and going through tunnels one would have a hard time finding till he made it to a large cliff top overlooking a dry ravine. He sighs, putting down the small little bag he brought with him and taking a drink of water from it. Purring to himself.

But he wasn't a fool. Far from it. He knew one of the scouts was following him. Kenai to be exact. He knew everybody in sunbaked. Whether they knew it or not. Usually he would have easily shaken her off- but honestly he thought she was interesting. And not many took any mind to what he was doing. So maybe it could be entertaining for her.

He waits for a bit before hearing a different set of paw steps nearby. A huge smilus was rushing towards him- panting and huffing till he came to a stop.

He smiled at Bongo- signing to him.

" Hey boss! Sorry I'm late. Got turned around. You got the grub Parasite wanted?" He asks using paw gestures.

Bongo Nods- signing back.

" No worries. And yes. One male calidea dregii. Albino. " he pulls out the grub and shows it to the primal male who seems to geek out a bit as he signs.

" Oh my gods! Such a handsome boy! Does he have a name?"

" Does it matter? Parasite can name him whatever the hell she wants. " He responds with an unimpressed face.

" Oh- right." The larger of the two nods- taking the grub and placing it in a small pouch. He then hands Bongo a pawful of golden beetles. He counts them over then nods. Signing one last time.

" Good. Good. Tell Parasite me and Sir Squibbles will be there for the next fight. " He chuffs to himself, petting the beetle on his shoulder with fondness.

The smilus nods- quickly taking off again.

Bongo hums- before looking directly to where Kenai was with a raised brow.

He swallows. This was making him unnerved.. it was like he didn't know anything about her anymore.. she'd lived so much of her life without him. Hell- with other people. He felt his heart pound against his chest. He recalled how much worse things got when she left.

How Casta would beat and maul him every night. Harsher than he ever had before. The numb feeling in his mind every time he went and returned with new scars. How sad Dolly looked each time. He brushes some of his mane back- his head pounding with thoughts.

" Way. Are you certain.. you want to be with me?" He asks sadly. Looking at her with misty eyes. " You've.. been through so much. Lived so much.. without me.. And I have lived so much without you.. Are we still the same lovestruck kids we used to be..?" He rambles- worrying.

" What if.. You don't like how I am now.. after we've spent more time together?" He confides in her- wiping a few of his tears.

Way gave him an incredulous look. "Angel, I've known you for ages. I still love you no matter what happened." she gave him a light cuff over the ear just like she did when she was younger. "Trust me, I'd do it all over again if it meant I'd go back to you. Everytime. You know why?" She paused, but continued without waiting for an answer. "You're the reason I kept going. There was this lake beside the Cavewalker's Mothermaw. I remember when we'd climb trees together as cubs, and just when I thought I was a failure, at that moment when I felt like nothing mattered I remembered you. And how you were always there for me! It gave me the strength to keep going. So when the time came to name Angelic Feather, I interupted Adir and ruined the ceremony. I wasn't gonna let his name be a Cavewalker name when he had your same smile, and your same bright eyes. He was never anything like Solorais, but that never angered him at all. I stood up there and declared him as Angelic Feather, because he had the fighting spirit of the lion who should have been his father all along. Adir was furious!" She wasn't upset with her rambling story, more so laughing and telling it in a granderous tone. "What I'm trying to say is... You're the only reason I didn't give up."

He laughed along with her- listening and growing less anxious with each word. He smiled- making his way to her and sitting by her side- resting his chin on her head.

" I think.. you were always my favorite reason to keep going.. Way.." He remarks in a heartfelt tone- holding her close and purring.

She smiled, sinking into his mane. "Mine too. I'm glad we have a home now." She smiled. "And I know I'm young, but I think I'm gonna be a grandma soon already. Have you seen the way my son is looking at Crystal Gaze??" She chuckled

Kenai | Sunbaked

By the time Bongo had stopped walking Kenai's mind was a jumbled-up mess, the twists, and turns of the path he was taking confused her. Halfway into following bongo Kenai nearly lost him, having to do weak jumps over the grass to find him. When he stopped she laid down watching in between the grasses blades as bongo and a very large simuls lion talked, raising a brow when the unknown lion called him “boss”.

She raised a brow at the exchange, slightly admiring the beetle before looking back at the two. While Kenai thinks most beetles are pests she couldn’t help but admit that some were beautiful. Focusing back on her task at hand she was slightly startled when her eyes meet bongo's, him seeing her. With an exaggerated sight, Kenai lifted herself from her hiding spot, sitting in front of him.

“Alright, alright you’ve caught me. So this is what you sneak off to, kinda expect you too be some crime boss or something.” She chuckled a bit at her joke, “but I already know the drill, I’ll be on my way. Although that beetle did look nice I guess.” Kenai mumbled out as she looked elsewhere.

He chuckles. " I'm sure they'll be very happy together." He chuffs- leading her out of his den and towards the shore.

" I've been trying to find red and pink shells for my den- I want to string them together and hang them around the place! Maybe make a curtain out of them as well? " He explains the task at hand- pawing around in the sand to look for any pink or red shells.

Bongo|Sunbaked

He rolls his eyes slightly. He doesn't really know if she knows how to read sign. And he doesn't really know how to write actual words. So he opts to draw small pictures in the dirt.

He draws a crude version of himself and her- then an arrow pointing to a picture of what seemed like a small swarm of beetles. And then a question mark. He felt she may enjoy the beetle grove. If she wanted to follow him. But he really wasn't sure how to communicate that.

Sir Squibble buzzes his shiny wings a few times before crawling up and resting in Bongo's heavy mane.

" Whatddya say? Way? Think you can beat me?" He taunts with a giggle. His tail swayed excitedly.

He laughs- darting off nearby to scoop his paws in the wet sand. Eyes sparkling with mischief.

" You're on!" He calls over to her- soon finding a few good shells with a pale pink color. He starts to make a small pile- clearly taking a bit longer than Wayward to find shells.
