| Amir |
Male | 1 Year, 8 Months Old | Evil Son #2 | Panthera Leo (Lion) | Location: ???| Mentions: Darker Light, Taka, Xena, Lynx

The scolding from his mother slipped right off of him, already used to the raised voice that commonly emerged from his mother. Amir's focus was on other matters as his mother growled his ear off. Draconid eyes settled on the primal that had entered the clearing, a low growl escaping him. However, as soon as his father's harsh voice filled the atmosphere, his ears pinned back instinctively. He would watch the interaction between the two monarchs closely, brow furrowing. Him and his mother weren't particularly close. Not as close as she was with her other cubs. Still, there was a respect that Amir had for her, one only created by the bond of a mother-son relationship. If his father had any plans on attacking Darker Light, Amir would fight back with all the fury he could muster. Even if it meant more potential scarring, he would do it.

However, Prince Amir's attacks would do nothing but slide right off of Lynx, a primal of hefty size. If he wanted to do any true damage to the other male, Amir would have to catch him by surprise. So, he waited for his family to start walking before following after them. He'd trail behind them, eyes darting back and forth between his father and mother. No matter how hard he tried to prevent it, his heart was beating at incredible paces, simply caused by the mere presence of his parental figure.

Despite his initial assumption, nothing could stop the shock that consumed the youngest prince as his father hit his mother. A fierce snarl escaped him. Typically, he wasn't the one standing up to his father, that was usually Taka. His eldest brother could handle himself with ease, already in knowledge of their father's fighting style. His eyes would shift towards his brother, watching to see if the large male would do anything about the attack. You're taking too long, Taka. If you won't do anything, I will. Amir would think to himself before letting out another growl, raising his head as he watched his father leave.

"You good for nothing piece of shit." Amir would spat, rushing forwards so he would be at his father's ear shot. This was his first time ever standing up to his monster of a father. Adrenaline coursed through him, his heart raced faster than any rabbit running from a predator. "You may have a right to punish us but in no way do you have a right to punish our mother." The adolescent's voice was laced with a deep growl. Despite his growing size, he was only reached half way to his father's towering size. That didn't stop him though, his father would listen. "Hitting your queen is absolutely pathetic, does it make you feel stronger? Hitting a lioness half your damn size? Is that the only way you'll feel good about yourself?! You're an absolute joke, Lynx, and you dare call yourself a king." The words came out in a roar, his head would raise up, a sneer on his face. Perhaps, his roar was not as booming as the older male relatives in his family but it was laced with rage and anger. Those simple emotions made it a lot louder than usual, more intimidating. Intimidating to his father though? Likely not.

Lynx stared at his smallest son. ‘when did you get all suddenly brave?’ He growled. What in the hell was his youngest son doing? This was new to Lynx, but he knew how to end it quickly. ‘Was swipes to the face not enough?!’ Lynx snarled as he lifted up his paws, and quickly hitting the young adolescent. ‘You talk too much, just like your siblings and mother!’ He spat at his son. ‘I dare you to try to attack me.’ Lynx challenged. He stepped back and slightly crouched down, ready to fight. This could possibly teach his son a lesson. A good one.

Rika bristled slightly as her father raised his paws to her youngest brother, hitting him multiple times in quick succession. Her tail lashed b back and forth, and suddenly she couldnt hold herself back anymore. She wouldnt let his foolish words cost him even worse than it had before. Her paws moved without her even urging them to. And even from where she was, she knew that whatever she was going to do would cost her.

All she had felt before, from him hitting her mother, to this scene right here.. it was going to come pouring out of her. Much to her dismay. Against everything her father, Lynx, had taught her. And perhaps that was good. It showed her that she was no closer to turning out awful and cruel like he was. Was it inevitable? Maybe. But it wouldnt happen anytime soon.

Rika lets out a warning chuff that's aimed at Amir. Perhaps he simply doesnt understand what he's doing, or the consequences it will have for not only them but for their mother as well. Or perhaps this would be the moment he proved his worth to their wretched father.. Either way, he needed to be wise. Even through his anger.

Taka nearly choked on the involuntary snarl that he was very nearly unable to hold back when Lynx dared to take a swipe at Darker Light. He gritted his teeth so hard he thought he might crack a fang, and he returned his father's look with glare so cold it could have frozen a lake. His curved, overgrown claws dug deep into the earth as he wrestled with a temper that he clearly inherited from his sire. It would do none of them any favors if he went off on Lynx. No he needed to keep his head clear. He would not however, stand for the abuse of his mother. Opening his maw, he would not get to utter one word before Amir's rage filled speech sounded.
Taka had to admit that Amir really had a pair on him to say what he did to their father, not that he didn't agree with every word, but by god he wished his little brother knew how to pick his battles. This is not one he would win.
"Lynx.....Do not touch my brother again," he bit out, stepping toward his father in a threatening manner, even as his litter mate arrived on the scene.

~

Wobbling a bit when Rika swatted her rear, Vivi corrected her stance accordingly, her tongue sticking out slightly in concentration. When she felt like her footing was correct, she fixed Rika with a devious look and prepared to pounce a second time, only to stop short as a familiar, booming voice shattered the relative peace. Flinching, Vivi would look down at her paws as the Kings words, full of ridicule and rage, resounded for all to hear.
"Wonder what stink bug crawled up his bum and died today," she muttered, forgetting that she was within ear shot of one of his daughters.
She personally didn't think any of the royal kids were weak, and especially not Darker Light. Hunkering down as the family squabble grew more intense. She drew nonsensical lines in the dirt with her claws. Trying to block it out. There was nothing she could do after all.

| Amir |
Male | 1 Year, 8 Months Old | Evil Son #2 | Panthera Leo (Lion) | Location: ???| Mentions: Darker Light, Taka, Xena, Lynx

The adolescent wasn't sure what he was expecting as his father turned around. Why had he done that? All of a sudden, he felt like the sick, puny cub he was born as. A cub who looked up to his father, believing he could do no wrong and believing that his mother was the definition of saint itself. That was ruined though as soon as he entered adolescence. Now, he felt all sorts of mixed emotions. Amir knew the world wasn't black and white, there were all different shades of gray. However, as he looked straight at his father, all he could see was the devil himself. A low huff would escape him. "Fine." He would utter, walking forwards.

Amir was sure that his body was displaying careless movements, as if, this didn't dwell on him anymore than a simple scratch behind his ear. However, he knew that there was fear in his normally void eyes, fear that only his father was familiar with and could identify. Clenching his jaw, Amir took a single breath in. Also getting into a crouch, Amir lowered to the ground. All of a sudden, his senses were ten times better than usual. He could smell the earth beneath him, hear the slight buzzing of flies, feel the pawsteps of his siblings as they arrived beside him. A surge of anger filled him. He could fight his own battles, he asked for this. Why were they here?

There was relief at the sight of his sister. Apart of the first litter of his mother and father. She too, he'd say, was not amongst the favorite of the siblings. Taka was the eldest, he knew diplomacy and was in control of his actions. A fair ruler in most eyes'. Xena, despite finding herself in troubles often, had promising potential of becoming a great assassin. Her and their mother had a bonding factor. Even him, Amir, while often punished with pain, was at least not forgotten like his elder sister. That, was a pain, that Amir could only imagine. However, he wasn't here to sympathize with her. He was here to teach Lynx a lesson. Or at least, try to. What could he do against such beastly strength? Lynx was in touch with their primal ancestors. While Amir too had that primal beast in his genetics, it didn't show and he wasn't connected to it.

His throat had grown dry. He tried to swallow some saliva to no avail, resulting in a gulp. A low growl escaped him. How embarrassing. He grew even more enraged by the sight of his elder brother stepping forward. "Taka," Amir would growl, tail lashing out from behind him. "This isn't your fight, it's mine." There was a certain anger that gnawed at him. Perhaps, he did display some sort of attribute from his primal ancestors. Did his brother really look down on him that much? Did he think he couldn't finish what he started? The rational part of his brain argued with him. No, Amir was being an idiot. He was a mere adolescent, his father was a monster. He couldn't take him on, no matter how he tried. Taka was simply trying to avoid the fight, as Amir should have done to begin with.

That only angered him more. He could see feats in his brother that made him envious. No wonder they were so fond of him. Taka was a perfect heir, Amir was positive he'd be the one taking the crown after the death of his parents. However, this whole chivalrous act filled him with disdain. A righteous code, oh, how he hated it.

Lynx stood back up and stared at his oldest son. ‘When did you become king around here?’ He spat, his stub tail lashed. Is all his cubs going to step up to him? Lynx looked back at Amir then back at Taka. ‘Even if you tried to attack me,you know who’s going to win.’ Lynx spat once again before turned around, placing his focus on Dark and Amir. ‘Leave this instant. Tomorrow, punishments shall start as soon as the sun is reborn.’ Lynx said loud enough, where lions around could hear him. He shot a look at his Queen,Amir then at Taka before dismissing himself. Lynx stomped out of the clearing and into the tall grass.

The older lioness tried to hide her amusement at Vivi's jab, she would laugh when she had the time. For now, she couldn't. Rika'ni took her place next to Taka, her shoulder just barely touching his. The fur along the ridge of her back rose in aggression as her father spoke again. Perhaps.. perhaps, even if we all attacked him at once he would still win. He has the old blood on his side after all.. While Rika was strong, and she had been trained well, she only bore the fangs of her primal ancestors. Her father bore their strength. Logically, he had the upper hand in all senses of the word.

Her olive green eyes trailed after him as he left, his words ringing in her ears as a snarl rattled from her throat. One day I will make sure your blood stains this grass, father. Be sure of it..

Taka said nothing more, not when Amir growled at him, not when Lynx spat at him, not even when Rika stood resolutely at his shoulder. He remained stoically quiet until the moment the towering hulk of his father turned from them. Only then would his cold gaze now fixate on Amir. He said not one word, and yet his expression spoke volumes. 'Idiot', his face said plainly. Tsking and muttering faint obscenities' under his breath, Taka lashed his tail and turned away from his mother and siblings, stalking off in the opposite direction of their father. He needed to be alone.

No words left Amir as his father walked away. Amir simply watched him leave, tail lashing out in fury. Of course, his older siblings had to butt into business that wasn't their own. Relief also gnawed at him, however, he adamantly ignored it. Sure, he was scared but who wouldn't be. He didn't understand why his siblings thought it was their business to loom over him as if they were his parents rather than Darker Light and Lynx. Amir made sure to bite his tongue until his father was no longer in sight, vanishing into the tall grass. After he made sure the coast was clear, the adolescent turned back to his brother.

He was met with his father's cold blue hues, a shadow cast over Amir as Taka towered over him. There he was again, looking down on him. How dare he? Amir growled, hardening the features shown around his eyes that weren't covered by his mask. "I had it handled. Next time, keep your tail out where it doesn't belong." The young prince answered back, returning the look with a harsh one of his own. He didn't move a muscle, didn't even let a breath out. All he was focused on doing was returning his older brother's stoic demeanor with his own. The only real sign of irritation was his clenched jaw, only visible from the side due to his mask rather than the front.

As his brother took his leave, Amir's permanently narrowed eyes trailed after him. A low huff escaped him and he turned his attention onto his older sister. "You too. I had it handled. Taka always wants to be the center of attention, he can't stand when he's not." The adolescent would state, rolling his eyes as he glared down at the ground angrily. "But you," He would begin, eyes trailing back up to the lioness. They were back to their careless, half-lidded state. "I certainly didn't expect to see you, Rika'ni. While it's always a sight to see you, you should have kept your nose out of it." Amir would grumpily grouch, the typical scowl returning on his face.

Rika watches her Littermate leave with a slight frown, her tail swishing nervously back and forth. Although she worried for him, she would not go after him. Eventually her gaze turned down to her youngest brother as he griped about people butting in where their noses dont belong. Her lips pull back in a slight snarl at his blatant disrespect, showcasing her massive teeth even more than usual. "Do not mistake my worry for you as weakness, little brother. Though I would never willingly hurt you, I will not hesitate to put you in your place if need be." The soft, nervous tail swishing has morphed into agitated lashing.

"Even so.. though idiotic as that was, there was also something.. brace in that. Or maybe that's just the idiocy spreading." Rika'ni sighs, raising a paw and giving him a light bat on the back of the head, "Next time, understand that not only will you get the rest of us in trouble for your actions, but you will get mother in trouble as well. She already has so much to deal with.."

She turns to leave before glancing back at him one more time, "I'm.. proud of you. In some way. Just dont get yourself killed, Amir." Rika makes her way in a direction that is neither her father's, nor her litter mate's. Some part of her hopes that her brother will not listen to her words..

Leaving nothing but a scent trail of sunbaked earth and cedarwood, Taka would march for a solid fifteen minutes in a single direction. His mood growing darker with every print his paws left in the dry soil. He kept going until he eventually arrived at the base of a lone acacia tree. When looking at the solid trunk of said tree, one could see scores upon scores of deep gouges carved into the bark.
Taka studied these markings quietly for a few moments, before his lips twitched, and he let out a vicious snarl. Rearing up on his hind legs, he slashed savagely at the innocent tree. Ripping out chunks of bark and adding to the gouges already present. It was clear he had done this many times before.
The ebony furred prince poured every emotion he normally kept in check into each swipe against the bark. All his anger, all his rage, his fear. He let it all out, keeping at it until his forelegs trembled and specks of his blood smeared against the bark from sharp splinters that cut the pads of his paws.
When there was a sizable hole in the tree trunk, Taka would finally stop, his breath coming in ragged pants. He pushed off from the tree, wincing as his ripped paws made contact with the earth, and flopped over onto his side, icy blue eyes sliding shut as he did so.
There were times he simply could not stand it anymore. Whether it be the pressure of being the eldest, the cruelty of his father, or the bullheadedness of his younger siblings who were determined to worry him into an early grave. Whatever the reason, when he needed an outlet, he came to this tree. No one bothered him out her either. There were no judgmental looks, jealous stares, or snide remarks here. No expectations, no reasons to be perfect, no walking on eggshells around his father. It was only him, the tree, and the plains.
Lifting a heavy, trembling paw, he draped it over his head to hide his face from view while his mind replayed the confrontation with his father.
He had been afraid...no, he had been terrified. For himself, for his siblings, for Dark. He was no where close to being immune to the fear Lynx inspired, if anything he was more susceptible to it. He was the first born son after all. The heir apparent.
The things he was made to do to toughen him up as a cub, the trials he was forced to complete, or die trying, to prove his worth. To call them traumatic would be putting it gently.
Pushing away the dark thoughts, his mind wandered next to Amir's initial outburst toward Lynx, and the barest hint of a grin could be seen peeking from behind his paw.
He wished he possessed some of his little brothers gall, or even a portion of his fiery spirit that had somehow not been beaten out of him by their father.

~

Vivi was staring intently at a trail of ants as they marched on with their mindless task, adamantly pretending that she had not witnessed what had just transpired betwixt the royal family. Nope she hadn't seen or heard a thing, the ants were truly that captivating. Especially the way continued in a straight line, never deviating. Yes it was quite thrilling.....Sweet leaping gazelles she might actually implode if something fun didn't happen in the next two minutes.

(sheesh i really went on a tangent there with taka, and then you have Vivi's post lol

Dark snarled, all of her anger directed to Lynx. "I am not leaving and my children will not be punished." She pushed Xena behind her, along with amir. "I will be staying and my children will get far enough away from you to never see your face again!" She roared at Lynx. Then quickly turning to run away.

Two guards came after Lynx and spoked. ‘Your highness,You can be out here at this time.’ One stated, avoiding eye contact with the King. Lynx curled his lip back into a light snarl as he took a few steps to them, easily towering over them. ‘Did you forget who I am?’ He said, his tone harsh. One guard took a step back while the other stay put, their head lowered to the ground. ‘Yes,Sir. We both know who you are..’ the guard muttered, lashing their tail. Lynx rolled his blue orbs and shoved the guard out of the way. ‘This is a warning. Don’t you ever come with me anywhere, dangerous or not.’ Lynx said through clenched teeth before turning around, entering back into the tall grass. What a waste of time. He still had to decide on a punishment. One that’ll make his cubs know who they’re dealing with.
