Thorn was once again on hunting duty . He didn't mind it but he rather hunt bigger animals then a deer. He knew there's a chance of hurt or even death but still after so many times of deer meat....it's boring.his paw stomping on the ground grass and twigs breaking underneath him. Eventually he was met with a herd across the river. He knew this herd was protected but he has a pack to feed....his once dried body emerging now wet fur sticking to his sides . He slowly lowered himself to the ground sneaking up on a few doeling and their mother's.

A beautiful spotted doe was grazing with her heard near the river. Once in a while the young majestic animal looked up her ears moving slightly forward and becoming more perked as she was trying to listen for any sounds that might warn of danger. However, when she couldn't sense anything, Utu lowered her head back down starting to graze more. She was especially after the red clovers that were a special treat that a diligent searcher could find growing around the forest clearing from time to time. So far she hadn't been very lucky, but she had actually found one of those delicious clovers, but her aunt had managed to snatch it before she could have tasted it.

Hearing a splash coming from the river, Utu lifted her head up again and listened closely. She tried to use her hooves to sense the vibrations from the ground that would explain the sudden sound, but she couldn't sense anything. All was so quiet, even too quiet. Warily Utu continued to graze, but the doe was definitely more anxious than before. She flicked her tail as her large ears kept moving trying to capture every sound that the forest might have.

Thorn narrowed his eyes scanning among the younger doelings eventually setting his eyes on that has enough meat for the pups and mothers at least. Thorn slowly snucked up before giving chase. They all ran from him but he was determined to feed his pack. They ran across broken wood, grass, mud everything that is natural on the ground. His paw running along the herd biting at some but didn't hurt them. His plan was to escape one from the herd like how he was taught. His body making it easy but he's growing tired Soon.

The prized red clover fell from Utu's mouth as she saw a black wolf running towards them. Instantly fear coursed through her veins and giving in to her instincts, Utu joined her herd as the fallow deer were trying to escape from their predator. Her long thin legs helped to give her both speed and agility as she was running away. Once in a while the doe had to jump over fallen logs and make tight turns but she knew that running wasn't a long range solution. It would only be a matter of time when the wolf would catch one of them and the deer could only hope that the unfortunate one wouldn't be one of their loved ones. She knew that she had enough stamina to go on and with those thoughts in mind the doe forced herself to run faster hoping that it wouldn't be her who would end up getting eaten today.

Thorn jumped over narrowing his focus on one of the young female. She's fast he'll give her that but even they they had to give up hopefully soon even skinny wolves can't run for long . His one chance came and he took it . Thorn ran forward slamming his side into her herding her into the opposite direction still snapping his jaws at her behind legs hoping she doesn't kick him ending him.they ran together both hoping for something to happen

Utu led out a startled sound when the wolf touched her and her dark eyes were wide with fear when she saw him so close. She trued to run faster and managed to speed past him again, but the snaps she was hearing scared her a lot. She tried to keep her hind legs away from his jaws, but she also didn't try to kick him. He might be a predator, but Utu didn't wish to hurt anyone. She tried to run even faster desperate to get away from the death's grasp, but he seemed to be determined to keep her separated from her herd. She couldn't see them anymore, only distant sounds of their hooves.

Suddenly Utu let out an another startled faint sound as she stumbled over one log she had failed to see and was now lying on the ground. Her heart was beating really fast, it seemed that it rocked her whole body and the adrenaline kept bumping through her veins. However, as she tried to get up, she only managed to stumble few steps before falling again. Her legs hurt from the impact and her body was tired after the intense chase even though she wasn't willing to admit it. Her ears were pressed flat against the sides of her neck, and tail was lowered. It was almost like the doe knew that her 3 years of life would come to end in a matter of seconds.

Thorn noticed the wounds but he didn't to appear weak or have a heart for a prey. He creeped up on her landing her back to the floor of the forest . His paw extending his claws where even she can feel them on her. Thorn knew he should end it but something in her eye stoped him. ( It looks like me and yet a different species) His thoughts finally decided for him to let her go. She young .... He tilted his head in the direction of her herd before walking away from her sniffing for anything else.

Utu panicked when she felt his paws on her and she quickly tried to scramble up her body full of life and will to live. However, it was difficult as the wolf on her was heavy and she wasn't used to anything weighting her down. Every part where the wolf's paws touched trembled under his claws. Was this what her life was going to be like? Would it really end so shortly before it even had truly started?

Her thoughts, however, were interrupted when she suddenly felt the weight lifting from her and when she glanced towards the wolf, it just tilted its head as if trying to guide her back to her pack. What was this all about? She had never heard or even dreamt being spared by a predator. They were cruel monsters who only yearned blood, but this one seemed different and that sparked Utu's curiosity. As the wolf walked away, she slowly rose up her legs close to each other while her ears were still pressed against her neck. She looked after the wolf pondering what this all was about and had anything what she had just experienced even been real?

Thorn walked along the path sniffing every now and then . He didn't care about the doe anymore if she does okay if she lives okay . To him he did something most won't do is he going to regret it ? Probably so . But she can be prey to others or themselves in the future. Eventually thorn sniffed a rabbit out . Thorn ran towards the rabbit instantly killing it . It wasn't enough but it's something. He scraped at it cleaning the bones off nearly leaving nothing for the bones scraper of these lands. Thorn turned around his ears held high noticing the doe seemed to be following him. His yellow eyes landing on her . ( Maybe she's lost ) Once again he thrust his head near her herd that seemed to be questioning why is she alive ? Why is she following a predator? .

Utu had ignored the most rational thing to do and refused to return to her herd. She was intrigued by the wolf and wanted to know why he would have spared her. Ignoring her instincts that told her to go to the other direction, she found her hooves slowly but surely leading her towards the wolf. Her steps were cautious and soft and her ears were still pressed back, but the curiosity had gotten best of her. She observed the wolf as he killed a rabbit feeling fear rush through her again, but she didn't run away. Instead she stopped and just stood there looking at him and once in a while looking around the surroundings while still highly alert.

She noticed him moving his head again and this time Utu tilted her head too. Perhaps he wanted her to copy his movements? Wolves were so odd...

Thorn noticed her head movement he didn't think of it maybe she understood what's he's saying now. He continues walking along the path of the forest . After a few yards he noticed she's still near him and yet she's standing away from him. (Deers are weird ) He thought. Thorn turned around like cycling her trying to understand what she wanted from him . ( Should he talked ... should he bite or anything) His yellow eyes following her movements. Eventually he walked up to her sniffing her out . " Leave " was all he side before continuing his path. It's clear this wolf doesn't want a deer company at all. I mean why should a prey and predator be near or with each other even. Heck even the smaller predators and prey are starting to stare and question their insanity together.

Utu kept following the wolf, it really seemed that he wasn't the dangerous type and that made her even more curious about him. She wished to know why he was being like that and why he had spared her life. What made her so special creature? The he stopped, she stopped too, but still made sure that there was few meters of space between them. She didn't want to provoke him, but something kept her from going back to her herd and leave him behind. The doe tensed when he came closer to her to sniff her. She tried her best to stay still, but when he was getting too close with his sniffs, she shifted her weight on her legs and lifted one of her hind legs to warn him that she would kick.

She heard him telling her to go, but she still didn't move. It seemed to be safe being around this wolf, perhaps... perhaps even more safer than being with the herd.

Thorn eyes widen but quickly narrowed his eyes daring her to do it . His snout already curling up as a warning. His fur standing on edge . His ears and tail now held high . Even if he knew she can end him he didn't think of the consequences { like he ever does } . He wanted to attack but even so this was a warning game between a determined wolf to get ride of the doe vs a doe who wants the wolf . Both creatures eyes locked onto each other . None dared to move . All the creature that was near tensed up thinking this won't be good for anyone . A few creatures whisper among themselves some daring to interfere but was scared themselves. After five minutes a few predator even came near the daring creature.

Hearing his growls and seeing how agitated he was, Utu kept all her four hooves firmly on the ground and even covered her head a little while she let her ears to press forward a bit. She moved her gaze away slightly when the stare became too intense and tried her best to appear aloof and not threatening. She didn't want to harm him. To show that she had no ill intentions, Utu lowered her head to the ground and started to explore the ground with her soft velvety muzzle trying to find something to graze on. Perhaps the wolf would eventually leave her be.

However, Utu's search was soon interrupted when other predators started to approach her. She was instantly in full alert again and her ears pressed against her neck as she took a step back trying to keep the distance between them and her.

Thorn was surprised at her gesture but still didn't want to show weakness . His expression slowly calmed down . He shocked his head trying to clear his thoughts before noticing the predator and her reaction. He sign before slowly turning his back to her and growled at them . " Back off" it's clear this wolf doesn't speak much but still have words and expressions to back him up. All the predator seemed surprised before walking away some stood but given up after a stare down.
