After the jaguar had left, Utu returned back to the den and once again laid down next to Thorn. She carefully inched closer to him and closed her eyes trying to get more sleep. However, the strange encounter kept replaying in her mind. Why did the jaguar care about her? So far it had only been Thorn who had cared and showed compassion to her. She knew that even though the fear had a tight grasp on her heart, deep inside she trusted Thorn more than she liked to admit.

The jaguar had left the territory going back into his own making himself at home once more but didn't feel safe in his big free space ... maybe...she will he thought before shaking his head of the thought of having another predator not prey into his territory. Neither of his generation had lived in a herd or a pack not even his mother who was a fierce lady but had three cubs that ruined her territory she worked hard on and for what a male to run off ... Mateo just wants company is that so hard to ask ? Maybe for him yes ...

Thorn stirred slightly feeling utu back at his place before whispering " what happened you were gone for awhile" he asked still asleep

"It's nothing to worry about, you should get more sleep," Utu whispered softly before she started to groom his head gently in order to relax him. She was debating should she tell him about the jaguar's visit, but was unsure. What if it would cause trouble later on? Though she had a feeling that it would cause trouble in one way or the other on the long run. After having groomed him for a while, Utu stopped and laid her head back down on the cool ground of their den. However, the sleep seemed to avoid the doe as she kept thinking about the strange encounter and the words that the jaguar had said.

Thorn slowly yawn himself back to sleep resting his head on her own like a mother would do to a baby . " Sleep utu I'm here now " thorn side in his sleep slightly moving towards the middle of the bedding hay . It was clear he is more worried about sleeping then the smell of the jaguar in the air .

His words and actions soothed Utu enough for her mind to clear from the night's events as she managed to fall asleep again. Utu didn't woke up the rest of the night and had slept rather peacefully. Once the morning dawned, she opened her eyes when the birds' singing had made her ears twitch. For a moment, however, she didn't move from her spot and instead just enjoyed the peace and quiet that this new den had brought to them. She only could hope that it would be the lasting kind of peace.
