His words hurt Utu, but she didn't allow it to show as she followed him quietly. It really seemed like it didn't bother him at all what had happened and Utu had to admit that she couldn't be as indifferent towards it. Neither her movements or the position of her head or ears didn't have even hints of enthusiasm in them. And what hurt her even more was that he had never apologized her for betraying her like that.

As they walked another hour or so, they had completely stepped out of the jaguar's territory and a small clearing was there ahead of them. It was surrounded by thickets and even had it's own private pond with a small waterfall. It was very peaceful and beautiful place and it seemed that not many predators had found that little sanctuary. It even had a den hidden away by the thickets making it a perfect spot for both the wolf and his deer to rest and start their new life.

" this is a perfect home for us " thorn side more happy they finally found a home . " Utu...we need to talk " he side somewhat concerned and worried that he already mess up their relationship. " Utu what I did wasn't to hurt you but to use you as bait nothing more or less. I needed a distraction to get closer to him so I can attack. You know I wouldn't had let him hurt you after all your mine and I'm yours " he side before walking to the den sniffing out any predator or territory he may have to mark " utu how do you mark yours anyways ?" Thorn asked somewhat wondering how they can do it .

Utu couldn't keep a tiny smile from appearing on her muzzle when she heard that he really wanted to share the place with her. However, when he mentioned that they should talk, her ears pressed down again, but she stepped a little closer showing him that she would listen whatever he had to say. It was a lot to take in...

"What if I wouldn't have been able to escape?" Utu whispered her voice sounding a little broken. She wanted to show him that she was still hurt and keep distance from him, however, at the same time she wanted nothing more than comfort and safety that his presence brought to her. His last words kept replaying in her mind and as odd as that sounded, they gave her hope. She followed him inside the den looking around with big and wide eyes. She had never been in a den before, her kind tended to sleep in the thickets, but she had to admit that having a home with walls and roofs didn't seem like a bad idea at all.

"We do it like this," she whispered softly rubbing her head and chin against the wall of their den.

" maybe we can add some moss and grass for your side of the den make it softer for you . You don't want to sleep on the ground itself...maybe even add some decorations to make this more lively...firefly maybe? He seemed to be asking for her opinion on certain things making the den more livable for her . ( At least he's trying) . " So utu what you think of the den ?"

Utu looked at him feeling bit of warmth in her heart when he was suggesting all those things. He seemed to be really thinking about her and how she would enjoy their home a lot more.

"Fireflies would make this place beautiful and perhaps we could even add some plants... if they want to grow here," she said looking around. "It looks nice, though rather dark. However, it seems safe here," Utu said softly. She wasn't used to being away from the sunlight, but so far the den seemed comfortable enough.

" we can add.some tonight for now let's get some grass and moss for you I can sleep fine on the rocks . We can maybe add some mutual animal to our den as well . But the plants does seem nice let's add some and maybe a few herbs " he side actual acting like he is thinking about making a home with her. " We can work outside tomorrow for now we need rest "

Utu nodded walking out of the den to find some grass and moss for her nest. After they had collected suitable amount of that, she snatched a large bunch of grass with her. Even though she didn't want to admit it, it would be her evening snacks. Once they returned back to their den, Utu laid down on her soft nest but kept glancing at Thorn every now and then. Was it truly comfortable to lay on rocks? She would have invited him on her nest, it was big enough for him too, but didn't want to force him to be with her since she was just a prey, though rather persistent one at that.

After they got her settled it was.time to rest . Thorn finally found a safe area and laid down snoring lightly away the pain he felt today and.the nubs he is feeling duo to smaller rocks poking him.his tail now curling around himself like a blanket his ears relaxed now his muscles finally stop putting on the act . He is valuable in this position but felt safe enough with utu.

Utu looked at Thorn while munching on her grass. Unable to resist the urge, the doe slowly rose up from her nest and made her way over to Thorn. She carefully laid down next to him hoping not to wake him. She didn't know, why she was so fond of him, was it just because he brought the sense of safety to her, even if he had betrayed her trust? Not allowing those thoughts bother her too much, she laid her head down next to his before closing her eyes and slowly falling into a light sleep. It was almost like the doe wanted him to feel safe.

Thorn open one eye before laying his head on top of hers like he did before. Now both of them are laying on each other would it last ? Probably so . He actually fell happy enough to be doing this . His last yawn of the night happened before.a peaceful sleep happened. Both wrapped around each other

Utu nuzzled her muzzle closer to his chest feeling oddly safer and happier that his head was on her. Her sleep slowly turned to deeper one, but remained peaceful. It was almost like nothing could break the harmony that had fallen into the den.

When the first rays of sun appeared, Utu slowly opened her eyes. One by one yesterday's events came back in her mind and even though some of his actions still stung, it wasn't as strong as what she had felt day before.

As the sun ray hits thorn eyes he groan before stretching his paws out . Today is warmer then yesterday he had to admit that but even then food source is hard to find . Thorn slowly crawl his way out of the den before leaving utu " utu stay here okay ...I'm ...um marking territory" he side before darting away where she can't see him anymore he refuses to let her see him doing his marking . Even if it's normal he doesn't know how she would react.

Utu tilted her head in surprise when he rushed out like she would be a lice herself, but nodded. After he had left, she got up walking back to her comfortable and soft nest where she laid down again continuing to munch the grass that was leftovers from last night. It made a delicious breakfast too, she should remember to bring back more grass each night so that there always was something to eat.

Thorn walked around the area marking his territory. He been gone for over an hour at the most. " I should get back soon"he thought before walking into an herb migrating soon. His stomach growls slightly at the animal meat ... should he go for it or head back... before he decided he began moving once more slowly but surely sneaking into a baby that looked like a few days old .he paw leaving a footprint in the grass . His now change near but before he was able to take them down he was spotted the alarm blaring through the herb he rand away them but lost them ....great he thought before heading back to the deer friend what he didn't realize what that he would bring home another animal that seemed to think he was his " mother "
