Nyezemnoy sighed slightly. She was tired (really tired), and was desperate to get some rest. But the nervous energy radiating from Xyuvar suggested that he had other things in mind.

"So... what do you want me to do?" Xyuvar asked, not really experienced with romance.

She shrugged, her broad shoulders tugging the blankets up a little. "I was just planning on sleeping," she explained, turning her head to face him. She rolled over fully. "But we can do other things... if you'd like."

Xyuvar looked away as Nyezemnoy stated that she had simply wanted to go to sleep.
"Oh... my apologies... milady... I thought... you were wanting to engage in some... romantic relations... forgive me for assuming wrong..." Xyuvar said honestly, before closing his eyes.

That made Nyezemnoy smile wistfully. "It's okay, Xyuvar. We can if you want." She reached out and rubbed his shoulder in an attempt to comfort him. "And you don't have to call me 'milady'. You can just call me Nyezemnoy! Or something along those lines. If it makes you comfortable, of course - it's really up to you." Nyezemnoy hoped hat by giving him the choice he would eventually become more comfortable around her, more natural. Then again... the dragon had been abused his entire life. It might take a bit more than that to convinve him to chow his true self.

As Nyezemnoy tried to console him, Xyuvar smiled kindly, albeit weakly due to the circumstances.
"Thank you for forgiving me... mistress... I've... never had a master... who was as kind and forgiving... as you before... every master I had always ran me ragged... saying that I wasn't doing something good enough... but... as nice as the offer... of having romantic relations is nice... I... I was never allowed to pursue them... either... I was always told by the Slave Traders... that my life... is solely in the talons of, and forever dedicated.... to those who owned me... I wasn't allowed to focus on anyone but my master... whoever he... or she... may be." Xyuvar told her.

"Xyuvar, if there is another you desire I will not force you to stay with me," said Nyezemnoy. "And you are in control of your own life - although you are in my service for the next three months, you will be paid, and you can say no to anything that makes you uncomfortable."

As Nyezemnoy said these things, Xyuvar's spirits were lifted somewhat.
"Mistress... you... don't have to do all this for me... but I said before... there isn't anyone special to me... I was never permitted it... and my training enabled me... to follow those rules perfectly... I've... never been allowed such freedom before... I... I don't know what to do with it." Xyuvar said honestly, looking at her corpulent face.

"Okay, I understand. Well not really, but sort of? I used to live with the Chancellor, but about 80 years back he just left me here. I had several hundred servants, and complete freedom. I had no idea what to do."

THE NEXT MORNING

Nyezemnoy yawned, stretched, and rolled out of bed. She stumbled sleepily to the kitchens and slumped herself down on a chair, aksing her maids to make some breakfast. They quickly obliged, and she had a cup of tea and a plate of scrambled eggs in front of her within minutes. "Make some for Xyuvar," she said, "And keep it warm until he wakes up."

Xyuvar, meanwhile, tossed and turned in the bed, his night once again plagued by all of the torture, abuse, and molding by the Slave Traders and every master he had...

After downing her cup of tea, Nyezemnoy went to attend to her usual daily activities. However, something was nagging at her in the back of her mind, so she decided to head to the library. There she sat for many an hour, flicking through page after page of information regarding the Gailbraith Empire.

Xyuvar woke up shortly after Nyezemnoy went to the library, feeling even more conflicted about Nyezemnoy's kindness and his slave training than he was yesterday. Whenever he expected her to be harsh, she gave him nothing but kindness. Was it out of pity? Did she truly want him to be free, or was it a ploy only to drag him back to her clutches??? He couldn't tell...
