Ellisar grinned brightly, seeming surprisingly pleased that Sebastian had accepted his offer. He nodded his head as he spoke his next words. "I'm completely sure, I want you to be able to join in on the fun." He assured him with a soft giggle, taking a moment to ponder if his blood would taste good. He brushed the thought aside and glanced around the camp, Isolde and Theodis were CLEARLY distracted, but Solaris seemed somewhat bored at the moment and his eyes were moving around the camp, including landing on Ellisar and Sebastian. Ellisar thought for a moment before he pulled himself to his feet and held his hand out to Sebastian to help him to his feet with a smile. "Maybe we should 'go for a walk' first though." He suggested, feeling such an act would be best done in privacy and away from curious eyes. Despite his calm exterior, his mind slowly began to fill with thoughts of what they were about to do. He would venture into the darkness of the forest, away from the fire and the rest of the group. He would place his life in Sebastian's hands, allowing him to drink from him and pray that he would not drain him. He pushed the thoughts away, he may have only known Sebastian for a few days, but he had gotten a feel for his character and knew that his soul was good. "You deserve it, and so much more." He murmured softly, perhaps it was the wonderweed, but he seemed more open and comfortable with her than he ever had been before. He held her hand for a moment more as he gazed into her eyes, debating in his foggy mind what he should do next. He came to the conclusion to gently release her hand, allowing her to pull away before he leaned back, resting his back against the tree behind him. He looked away from her, some shyness creeping back onto his face, but he didn't have a single thought of regret for his actions and words. She needed to hear it after all as it was true. He was quiet for several moments, seeming deep in his own thoughts as he stared at the fire in the center of camp. The fire danced even more than usual it seemed as the wonderweed skewed his vision and made him feel as if he were sinking into the earth. A gust of chilly wind ran across them and a small, playful smirk drew across his lips as he got an idea. "What a chilly night it is." He commented as he looked over at her with the same playful smirk. He reached out and brushed his hand across hers softly, then let out a gentle mock gasp. "And your skin is freezing, here, why not allow me to warm you?" He suggested playfully and held his arm out to the side, offering for her to lean against him so he could hold her. A joke from Theodis? Had the group ever witnessed this before? It would be shocking if anyone other than Isolde had heard. ![]() |

Sebastian’s crimson eyes followed Ellisar’s gesture, catching the flicker of Solaris’s gaze as it darted around the camp. He gave a subtle nod, acknowledging the unspoken suggestion. Privacy, in this situation, was the wisest choice—not only to avoid unsettling the others but to give himself the space to maintain control. “Yeah, a walk sounds like a good idea,” he said, his voice quieter now, as though he were already stepping into the seriousness of the moment. He accepted Ellisar’s hand, letting the half-elf help him to his feet. His grip was firm but cautious, as though reluctant to lean too much into Ellisar’s willingness. The vampire brushed himself off and glanced toward the dark expanse of the forest beyond the campfire’s glow. It was almost second nature to him to retreat into the shadows, but something about this felt different—more deliberate, more weighted. He turned back to Ellisar, his expression a mix of appreciation and something deeper, something caught between worry and gratitude. “Lead the way,” Sebastian murmured, gesturing for Ellisar to walk ahead. He followed closely, his steps quiet, his posture tense but controlled. As they moved further into the forest, the sounds of the camp faded, leaving only the faint rustle of leaves and the occasional snap of a twig underfoot. The dim light filtering through the trees cast an ethereal glow over Ellisar’s features, and Sebastian couldn’t help but stare at his features. Soon they reached a good distance Sebastian looked at Ellisar; nervousness crossing his own features. “I have good sense of control on my um… nature. But if you feel I am taking too much please push me away.” He didn’t want to frighten Ellisar but he thought it best to tell him any way. Isolde blinked, startled at Theodis’s sudden playful tone. For a moment, she could only stare at him, wide-eyed, as if questioning whether this truly was Theodis, the stoic and steadfast soldier. The unexpected lightness in his demeanor, paired with the soft teasing, threw her off balance in a way she wasn’t entirely sure she disliked. Her lips parted slightly, searching for a response, but she hesitated. The chilly wind swept through again, sending a faint prickling sensation through her cold, still body—a reminder of how unnatural her state was compared to his living warmth. Finally, with a small, tentative smile, she crossed her arms, more to steady herself than out of any real need for warmth. “That’s quite the gallant offer,” she murmured, her tone edged with dry humor as she glanced at his outstretched arm. “Are you sure you’re feeling all right? I don’t think I’ve ever heard you joke before.” She tilted her head slightly, her voice light yet testing, though a flicker of uncertainty lingered in her gaze. After a beat of hesitation, she shifted closer to him, her movements slow and deliberate, as if testing the moment. Finally, she leaned gently against him, her unnatural coldness a stark contrast to his warmth. She remained still, her body tense for just a heartbeat, before allowing herself to relax into his side. “You’re… warm,” she murmured, her voice soft, almost distant, as if the sensation was foreign to her. She hesitated before adding, barely above a whisper, “It’s nicer than I was expecting. Didn’t think I’d ever crave warmth like i do now.” ![]() |

Ellisar stopped with Sebastian once they were a good distance from camp, he noticed the nervousness in Sebastian's expression, which didn't exactly fill him with confidence. But nonetheless, he nodded his head as he was told the small warning. He felt his heart pound with anxiousness, wondering if he had made the right choice, but he felt he was at the point of no return. He reached out and gently grabbed Sebastian's hand for a moment, smiling at him softly as the moonlight cast shadows upon them both. "I trust you." He said softly, giving his hand a gentle squeeze before releasing it and taking a step back. He leaned himself against a nearby tree so that his back was against it and gave Sebastian an inviting look. It seemed he was as ready as he ever would be, so he waited patiently for Sebastian to make his move, though he did find himself subconsciously leaning his head to the side a bit to expose his neck. Theodis smiled and chuckled softly at her ribbing. "I'm feeling just fine, actually." He commented with a grin, and as he felt her body lean into his, he relaxed and rested his arm around her gently, even going so far as to softly pull her into him. "Much better now though." He murmured softly so only she could hear. He looked down at her for a moment, taking in the sight of her leaning into his chest. His heart was pounding strong, giving away his mixture of anxiety and excitement caused by the moment. After several long moments, he finally tore his eyes away from her and landed them on the fire in front of them. He let out a content sigh through his nose and settled in to enjoy the calmness of the night. He felt like something was missing, but his currently somewhat dulled mind didn't take proper inventory of how many bodies were around the fire, he was too focused on his current triumph of getting to hold Isolde. At the moment, he couldn't think of anything to say, so he decided to just enjoy the ambience of the camp with the crackling fire, plucking lute, and the deep breathing of slumbering beasts (the dragons) near them. ![]() |

Sebastian surged forward, his movements a touch faster than he intended, his nose brushing against the curve of Ellisar’s exposed neck. He took a moment to steady himself, inhaling deeply as the scent of Ellisar’s blood filled his senses. Composing himself, he opened his mouth, his fangs extending as they pierced the soft skin. The first taste sent a wave of sensation through him—warm, rich, and intoxicating. He took one gulp, then another, his instincts overriding his careful control as he drank deeply, five deliberate pulls of the life-giving liquid. The blood surged through him, igniting a fire in his veins that he hadn’t felt in years. But just as quickly, he felt the sharp edge of losing control, and with a forceful will, he pulled himself back. His lips parted, a trace of blood still on them, and his breathing came quicker than usual. “Wow,” he murmured, his voice low, almost to himself. “Your blood is… delicious.” Realizing what he’d just said, his eyes widened in embarrassment, and he quickly wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to say that,” he said, his voice tinged with guilt. His gaze darted to Ellisar’s neck, where the bite marks remained, though the bleeding had slowed. “Are you okay? It felt like I took a lot.” His brows furrowed as he studied Ellisar’s expression, concern evident in his eyes despite the lingering taste of blood on his tongue. Isolde let out a soft, almost inaudible sigh as she leaned further into Theodis, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat against her cheek. The warmth of his arm around her and the gentle pull of his embrace created a sense of safety she had never quite known. For a vampire who had lived centuries without ever experiencing the need for rest or the pull of sleep, this moment was something close to it—a stillness, a peace that made her feel like she could let her guard down entirely. She let her eyes flutter half-closed as the ambient sounds of the camp washed over her: the crackling fire, the sounds of crickets playing their nightly tunes, and the low, comforting rumble of the dragons’ breath. “I don’t think I’ve ever felt this… calm,” she admitted softly, her voice barely audible even to him. “I never thought I could.” Her fingers fidgeted lightly with the fabric of his tunic, a rare nervous gesture. “I don’t know if it’s you or the night, but I feel like I could just… drift away.” Her words carried a hint of vulnerability, a truth she rarely allowed herself to speak aloud. For centuries, sleep had been a foreign concept to her—unnecessary and out of reach. Yet here, wrapped in Theodis’s warmth and the tranquility of the moment, she thought she might finally understand why mortals craved it so desperately. ![]() |
