Lonesome offers a smile, but his shoulders seem to sag as a small primal cub comes running out of nowhere to attack his tail, biting it hard. He does not flinch as the little one tugs and pulls a few strands of his tailfur out. Man that cub is hyper! "Your welcome."

((Update))

Lonesome's fur seems to suddenly catch flame, he blankly staring into space. In a few moments both lonesome and his heir are reduced to nothing more than ash, and a thick foul smelling fog is in the place where they once stood....it only takes a minute before a heated wind whips the ash into shape...lonesome returns now a beast of olden times, his heir nowhere to be seen.

((Aaaand with that i shall retire lonesome! ))

"No problem, I really do hope it keeps you warmer in the winter." Corvona laughs, watching as the lioness awkwardly fiddles with the fur, before deciding it'd be much better suited on her back. Corvona noticed the absence of a small cub that had previously been sleeping. It had looked rather abnormal, or at least different to a regular cub. "Who was that cub?" Corvona asked once more.

Ayame avoids his eyes, and sits down. She knew that the cub was no longer among the living, as she could see faint smoke in the distance. "He Was a member of my pride's heir." She sighs softly knowing no matter how heavy her heart was about the death of the cub, lonesome would brood on it forever.

" i'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad you have pride members that care about you" Sunglare says to Quinn. She lets Quinn snuggle with her. Her kind and calm personality comforts Quinn.

Quinn yawns sleepily, very much comforted by Sunglare. "Yeah well, makoto is nice to everyone." He rests his head on his paws, trying to keep his eyes open. Sleepy little fella.

"that goos to hear" shes says. She watches Quinn drift off to dreamland. " Good night Quinn. she closed her eyes. Keeping one ear turned towards outside if the cave. She uses her body heat to keep Quinn warm. She knows based on what her pride told her dwarf lions and lionesses have a harder time keeping warm when it is cold at night. Because Quinn curled up next to her chest , he could hear her heart beating.

A shiver ran down Corvona's spine at the lioness' words, the atmosphere had become somewhat eerie. Was? The cub couldn't of died naturally that very second, could it? Corvona caught the smell of singed fur, and a wispy grey smoke had emerged in the distance. It doesn't add up. That cub had some sort of mutation from the beginning, however that didn't mean it became highly flammable. "Oh dear, I'm sorry that I asked. That was beyond rude of me, I understand that you'd want some privacy for what happens amongst your pride." Corvona said quietly, realising his mistake too late.

Ayame shakes her head and sighs, trying her best to exsplain. "The pride i live in, really has three kings. Yukio, is the one i follow, the others are Frode, a cruel lion, and Lonesome, a kind one. Lonesome though....when he starts becoming old he looks for a young male cub, or lion, like timber, the primal cub who was just here to keep him company in his last days. But...." Ayame looks towards the ashy smoke which was now fading,lost in the wind. She was visably saddened, her shoulders drooping. "Lonesome is immortal, but his immortality is like a curse. The cub he chooses for his heir dies with him..." She looks back to Corvona and sighs as she finishes. He is like a bird of fire, he caught flame apon his death and so did Timber. Lonesome always arises from the ashes, but his heir never does..."

Corvona listened to Ayame explain, and he found himself saddened by such a tragic story. So that was the reason for the smoke. He followed Ayame's eyes, which lead him to where the grey wisps had arisen; it was now fleeting from existance, just like the cub it had consumed. She was describing him like a phoenix now, a bright bird of flame.
"Well, from bad comes good. Despite the burden Lonesome must carry, I am sure he is remorseful for his actions. And that cub's sacrifice wasn't in vain, was it? You've described Lonesome as a wonderful King, I am positive that he does more good for the world which balances taking a life from it." Corvona says softly, trying to comfort the lioness. He really did not like seeing her sad, and he felt even worse because of starting the topic.

Ayame sighs and offers a small smile, feeling a bit better."I do hope so...it's just sad a life was taken so young. Normally lonesome waits until they are at least a year old..." She shakes her head again and sits up straight, trying to act like her bubbly self again. What was in the past was in the past. Timber would not be forgotten. "Thank you."

It started to rain in the middle of the night. Some water got into the cave where Sunglare and Quinn are sleeping. Aside from some water in cave; the nigh is very peaceful.
