IMPORTANT:

Cats don't express grief the way humans do. If a cat has watery eyes or tears, their eyes are fighting off a threat, like a virus or dust. It can also be caused by pinkeye, and pinkeye can be caused by feline herpes.
Cats express grief by vocalising it.
I've messaged many people about this, because I don't want people normalising tears in cats, as it could be a sign of something being seriously wrong with your kitty. Take your cat to the vet if they have watery eyes for more than a week or two.

Swallowpaw padded over to the fresh-kill pile, her stomach rumbling. She chose a small mouse, feeling a bit guilty about the fact that she hadn't hunted for the clan yet. She looked around the camp but couldn't see Stormberry, her mentor, anywhere and figured he had left camp. She settled into a patch of sun and nibbled on her mouse, feeling slightly bored and hoped that Stormberry would come back soon. The sun felt good on her silvery fur and she closed her eyes, enjoying the rays soaking into her body.

Snowpaw woke up hungry. She trotted over to the fresh kill pile and took a plump mouse. She looked for somewhere to nibble on it. She sees Swallowpaw and walks up to her. "Hi Swallowpaw!" She says happily through a mouth full of mouse "Is it ok if I sit here?" She asks placeing her mouse down. She sat down waiting for Swollowpaw's answer. Snowpaw took a beep breath of warm air.

Mumblepaw yawned as he'd open his eyes. He'd look around to figure out where he was. He'd stand up straight as he finally realized he was in the middle of camp. Did he fall asleep right here? Was he that tired that he couldn't even make it to the Apprentice's Den? He let out a sigh. "Well what now?" He'd huff to himself. He actually realky wanted to hang with Spottedpaw, but he already knew she was going to be busy training with Hawkpaw. He'd glance over at Softpaw and Alderpaw, who seemed to be in their own little world. But Mumblepaw didn't think they'd mind so he walked over to the pair anyway. "Hello Softpaw, Alderpaw. I hope I'm not bothering you two but I hope if you both wouldn't mind if we could all chat together." He mewed in a blank tone. "But I'd completely understand if you would both rather be left alone."

Stripepaw looked to his paws with a small sigh. He stood up looking to his paws. He itched behind his ear. He thought for a moment then walked to Alderpaw. "Alderpaw?" He asked looking around. He felt a little bad about just staring at the apprentice. He had seen the tom look back at him but Stripepaw had just walked away. He wanted to explain himself and not just seem like an old grump. Maybe this was a bad idea but he felt like he needed to explain himself.

Alderpaw - 11 moons - Apprentice - 18/18 health - Camp - Mentions: Softpaw, Mumblepaw, Stripepaw, open!

Alderpaw flattened his ears as Softpaw told him more about the kittypet - in his eyes, there was nothing worse than a traitor. Things like that were completely unforgivable. Still, he felt relieved that there were stronger cats to protect them from these dangers. "Hopefully they have enough wits about them to know not to come back here again." He muttered, looking closely at the other tom. "Cheer up, Softpaw. Everything's alright now, you don't need to be upset." He mewed, before turning his head to look at Mumblepaw when he came over. He was a bit embarrassed, but sat up and gave his chest a few licks as he turned to the other apprentice. "Hi, Mumblepaw. Of course we can talk, I'm sure it could do us some good, with everything that's been happening recently." He said, appreciating the fact that another apprentice wanted to come and spend time with them. He also noticed Stripepaw come over, and was glad he wanted to be with them as well. "Hello Stripepaw, are you alright?"

Softpaw opened an eye when he heard Alderpaw's encouragement to cheer up, but closed them again as they felt too heavy to keep open. He flicked an ear when he heard Mumblepaw come over, then Stripepaw. He just wanted to rest though, so just remained next to Alderpaw on the ground. "Hope you don't mind me resting while we talk." He murmured in response. He enjoyed the sun warming his fur, stretching out a little to soak up all the warmth he could.

"Great." He'd mew at Alderpaw as he began to sit down. He'd look over at Softpaw, who looked quite tired. "I won't mind if you end up snoozing off every once in a while Softpaw. Though just hope you don't end up like-" Mumblepaw let out a large sneeze. "Like me. I actually just woke up from what I can assume passing out in the middle of camp. I also managed to get a bit of dust in my nose." He'd mumble in annoyance. He'd then look over to Stripepaw. "Oh Stripepaw, did you want to join us? We're all about to start a conversation." He huffed.

I saw you look over at me and I guess I probably seemed a bit rude." Stripepaw didn't even know how he knew Alderpaw felt that way. He just did.

Snowpaw smiled and nodded. "Yeah." She says taking a bite of mouse. "I haven't seen my mentor in a while and I've been so bored. So I haven't been really doing anything." She says. She says taking another bite and letting the blood trickle down her throat. "When your assessment comes" Snowpaw says cheerfully "Good luck." Snowpaw takes yet another bite. She finishes up her mouse in a couple more gulps.

Alderpaw noticed how tired and deflated Softpaw seemed, but he couldn't really help but feel the opposite. He hadn't woken up too long ago, so he wanted to go out and do something! Maybe he could hunt a bit later, when more patrols were set up. He flicked his ears as Mumblepaw sneezed, and seemed slightly amused. "I noticed you just fallen asleep right in the middle of camp. Have you not been sleeping well lately?" He asked, although quite a few cats seemed to be enjoying just sunning themselves in the middle of camp. He seemed surprised when Stripepaw apologised to him, but either way, he appreciated it. "It's alright, Stripepaw. I know me and Softpaw are together a lot of the time, but that doesn't mean that we don't want to talk to anyone else."

Mumblepaw looked at Alderpaw with a sudden sense of nervousness and fear. "Actually... I suppose my health isn't where it shoukd be.." He sighed. "My nose has been messed up lately. I can't seem to smell a thing but my nose isn't clogged or anything. And in all honesty it almost made the whole clan freak out. When Iceclaw got attacked i assumed it was a group of rouges, when it was actually just a fox. I didn't know Iceclaw had the scent of fox on him." He sighed in embarrassment. "Not to mention I get out of breathe from just trying to get up.. I-" Mumblepaw got cut off from a long dry cough as he wheezed. "I don't know what's wrong with me. I didn't want to bother Snowecho since he's on break." He huffed as he decided to lay down.
