It's really become annoying to see 10+ "what can I get for 1 SB" trades in TC - they clutter up the Currency section of TC and TC in general. I also feel they are a method of begging, as the trades are offering basically nothing in exchange for items. I feel these should be reportable or even prevented if coding allows. At this time, I would like to point out that for the next two weeks you all have an opportunity to say something that can make a difference regarding these trades in this topic made by the admins: https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429462337 |

But it’s still a challenge that exists is it not? Of course it may not seen like there is a bunch as there was but it’s still a trend people are doing. I went into the trade center just now and saw at least 2 of them. Regardless of the popularity it is still something people are doing. 0 players like this post! Like? Yeah, uh and? It's not that big of a deal for Lioden to ban it from the trading center, sadly it is a you problem if you're so annoyed by it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

So it's not really a "you" problem then if it affects a large amount of the userbase then. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Not much of a me problem when other people are also having an issue with it as well. Like what Ren said several others have concerns with it as well especially the people who start mass blocking people and more keep popping up. It’s starting to be a chore when dealing with these ourselves and we shouldn’t feel that way. 0 players like this post! Like? |

And my apologies if I was rude to anyone regarding this suggestion. I’ll try my best to stay as civil as I can. Hopefully I wasn’t being too mean about it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah... it's more than just an annoyance at this point. If over 300 people support the idea of regulating these trades, and many more I have spoken to outside of this thread, it's not an individual issue. It's a difficult thing to moderate and honestly I don't know if the mods *can* moderate such a thing. Setting a minimum SB requirement removes the concept of player-based value. It's an overstepping of moderator power to set a minimum cost and value. From a moderator standpoint, I have no idea to actually enforce a ban of such trades. That being said, a community post warning players to move the "challenge" trades to forum games would at least shed light on the issue and that it's highly discouraged. Maybe they can come up with a good solution, but right now, there is no reasonable way to explain these trades as individual annoyance. They are genuinely a plague, and frequently bumped, so trades that are serious get buried within seconds. They skirt the boundary of begging. It's a problem, even if it isn't a problem for you. There is no feasible way to frame this as a mild annoyance when a large chunk of the player base is having such a heated discussion on it. 0 players like this post! Like? Some people like to set things at 1SB anyways like NCL's, and sure 10SB isn't much of a difference but for a new player, and I mean completely brand new it might be a lot to them since they start out with nothing. Secondly. It is labeled as a game, not meant for begging, however, I do agree some do take it too far, like only accepting trades that are way to overkill like muties, or GB for 1SB, but those can be ignored, and I believe blocked... Thirdly, I believe a better suggestion would be to add a Min & Max SB/GB system to all trade tabs in the Trading center instead of just Max SB or GB, so you can filter those out. That is my personal opion anyways, so don;t take it personally! Thank you for coming to my ted talk 0 players like this post! Like? |

Right. I've been watching this post for a while now, dipping shortly in and out, but I think it's time I express my views on the matter. So, 1SB trades. While they're annoying, literally pointless and a loophole of the 'no begging' policy, they're still technically worth something. People do actually price NCl's and potato cubs for 1SB, as lions they want out of their pride. They can be tedious to block, but it's not going to take up a long time in the grand scheme of life. If you don't like it, block it. I think for new players this 'challenge' is a way to help them up on their feet. I'd suggest either moving these types of challenges to a separate area OR having a control implemented where only new players can put less than, let's say, 5SB in a trade. It's quite rough, but it makes it fair and people who want to help new players can. I also don't think this whole thing is an issue, and for the people who have been saying that '300 and whatever people disagree', there are over 278,000 accounts on this site, and ok, even if you half that (suggesting every person has a side) that's still over 139,000 people. While I'm aware many of these people are inactive or frozen, that's still a jolly good amount of people who clearly aren't that bothered about this, or they would have supported. No offense meant to anyone who has said anything on this thread <3 0 players like this post! Like? |

Support. While it is not that much of a hassle to block people it is a hassle to browse the trading center while those keep popping up. Today alone I had to block over 50 people because of those trades alone. I agree some might see it as fun challenge or game but they should either put it in forums only (stockpile for example) or get their own part of trading center for the "fun and games". They also do feel a lot like begging/trying to get over the no begging rule by saying "Oh, look, doing a challenge, offering 1sb, please offer equal value or higher" in the wanted part of the trade. And while I agree that if someone offers more it's on them it still opens a door for veiled begging under the guise of "challenge" or "game". It might pose a problem for the "free" ncl trades, where person puts an ncl for 1sb and puts 1sb as buyout, but it's an easy fix - make it so that if there is an item/lion in the trade it will not be considered a single sb trade. Boom, saved. Only downside is that people could use that in order to keep going with the challenge. Alas - they would also need to offer MORE than just a single sb, so at least their trades would not be as spammy or look like veiled begging anymore. As for what Triangle said - you might need to change the user number there. It counts a) all banned users, b) all multiaccounts (including not only sides but also those who used to make more than that to cheat), c) users that are on hiatus/not playing anymore etc. If you want to make it a viable data you would need to take a lot more numbers into account. We have now 281385 registered users. Let's half it for the sides - 140693 (rounded up). Now, let's say around 20% of that is banned either temporarily or permanently. 112554 people left. Another 20% of that on hiatus/not playing actively - 90043 people. Considering that online we get between 1300-2000 people at once the fact that 300+ people have a problem with the trades by supporting this suggestion only shows that out of all the people who play actively only that 300+ saw the suggestion and supported/not supported it. And I didn't count people who are either chat or forum banned but not site banned, because that would not only dwindle the number more but also show that while they play they cannot actually see/support the suggestion even if the trades drive them mad. 0 players like this post! Sigh... I see that. I wish it would stop but i kind of figured it wouldn't. However, I'm still not sure how to properly handle this other than making an announcement to move it to the game forum :/ 0 players like this post! Like? |

Coming back to this thread after pretty much lurking and reading every post since the beginning and I would finally like to add my two cents. I wholeheartedly agree that this is a problem, but as for a possible solution, the only thing I can think of is moving it to forums because it feels more like a game than an actual trade. Personally, I am tired of blocking people who do these sorts of trades. I'm tired of seeing them in the trading post, so I simply block, and move on with my day, but lately every time I go into the trading center a new one pops up. I really don't like having to block people just to stop seeing a certain kind of trade. It is, frankly, annoying and unwanted and I know I'm not the only person thinking this. I originally didn't post because I thought, like all fads, it would cease to exist after a while but the fact that it's starting up again has finally made me exasperated enough to post. Please do something about these trades, I know a lot of us would greatly appreciate it! 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 20/07/22 @ 12:40:32 by persephone (#187131) |
