If you read the thread and the OP's post properly, Readytest, then you will know it's not aiming at the freebie trades AT ALL. it's aiming at the veiled begging trades. The freebie ones were on the site for years and no one cares about them. We care about the spam of paperclip.

Let me tell you something - the only trades I use the 'hide' option on are the paperclips. I do it on my main account (which is this one) ONLY. The difference in amount of pages in the currency section ALONE is 14 pages on this account and 44 pages on my side. So 30 pages of currency trades is nothing but paperclips. That is a big problem of spam in trading center AND veiled begging.

Agreed and I've been In support of this for forever. It's not "Fun community games", it's literal spam.

Lmao no. If I have a trade for 10gb for offers, 10gb has genuine value. Make it a minimum of 1ksb or 1gb at least.

Especially with the news update saying they won't be moderating it whatsoever, like what? Also the Lioden mods and devs really have gone down hill. I know someone who asked a question in modbox and it's been 6 days and yet still they have no answer. That makes absolutely no sense that the community is crying out yet nothing is done. Don't they realize without the players there's no game?

Editing to say one last thing:

How in the world is the paperclip challenge not begging in their eyes? If I went to the Main Chat right now and said "Hey, what would you guys give me for 1sb? " if probably get a begging warning.

What mods, or rather admins, said is that they have come to conclusion that "there is no definitive line that can be set" in regards to those. Which is a lie. Every other pet sim site treats paperclips as what they are - veiled begging. Aka thing that is against the CoC of the site and they fall under previously cited 1.22 and 1.1 of CoC on Lioden.
They decided they won't be moderating them, which is bullshit and basically them saying "oh, veiled begging is not allowed, but THIS form of veiled begging is". So they are allowing people to break the rules.

And it's not hard to moderate. If they can moderate the non-english trades in TC, the trade ads that are for event currency with a "PM me what you want and I will buy it" that have only 1sb in them or the trades where people outright ask for free stuff then so they can moderate this. The other three are usually being reported mostly by users and we are not asking mods to camp in TC. We are asking for being allowed to report them for what they are - veiled begging. Then it can be moderated.

I keep seeing people say that the mods wont reply but typically for me the mods reply the same hour / same day. They may base who they respond to first based off of subject and how important they think it is but Ive never had a bad experience with the mods abbey and the coders even spent months working on a glitch on my account that she even hired brand new coders just to fix. They have it they definitely have the people thats not the issue. They just want to keep the trades as an open platform for everyone to freely have fun (so long as they arent scamming people) personally I find paper clip challenges fun and so do a lot of other people, if its simply an issue of spam then you should request paperclips be moved to forums

We have asked for them to be moved to forums due to spam, but it was decided to be "too hard to moderate".

Also, they may be understaffed on moderators front, as it's all volunteers. Moderators on Lioden are not actual employees, are not paid for their time/work and honestly if it is the same it was back a few years back then I am not surprised they are drowning.

I was given a code violation wrongfully twice in one week last month. One of those times I waited 2-3 days for a response from the staff just for them to tell me that I was right, that they had given me a code violation wrongfully.

Yeah, staff don't give a damn about loopholes, just look at the recent uptick in "Mystery Boxes" because "Mystery Goodie Bags" aren't allowed, it's a blatant exploitation of the rules, and the excuse is always "too hard to moderate". Except, it probably isn't - unless they're experiencing a shortage of moderators, and then you have to ask why and whose fault that is...

At this point they should add a "begging" channel to the chats because clearly some forms of it are allowed :/

I dont think its that they are being ignored as much as certain mods are only allowed to cover certain categories of reports and it could just be an issue that modbox is being spammed with useless reports they have to sort and sift through or that the mods that usually handle specific subjects are not online as often

I mean, we all know that the shortage of moderators is the fault of the site owners as moderators are nothing but volunteers, so you do practically a full time job with full time job requirements, for FREE. And don't even get any official paper that you did that volunteer work so you can add it to your resume or whatever.

If, like a few other sim sites, they actually HIRED people to be moderators then maybe it would be better. Alas, someone wants to cut costs and it's fucking everyone up.

But Rapid, that sort of thing could easily be added as a filter and even bot-modded if the admins put their minds to it, especially with the recode coming.

@Khajiit - hard agree, especially when I have seen Lioden's public accounts postings, they're not exactly hurting for money...

edit for clarity: in the UK, companies must post their accounts publically to Companies House, and Lioden's company number is in the footer. Do with this knowledge what you will.

I understand the mods are busy but like I said the person who has waited 6 days for an answer asked a question.

They didn't want anything fixed, reverted, nothing. Just an answer about a rule in game. How much time is it really gonna take to answer a question about a rule, which they should be super knowledgeable of.

No hate to the mods, I'm sure they are overworked. However that is no excuse for the site owners to not get more mods, or hire and pay mods, or yknow THEY COULD jump in and help their own staff.

I actually wasnt in support of a lot of the recode I think it only clutters my lions pages more. But it is understandable however if they allow mod bots the risk of wrongful prosecution is high. There would be more instances like what casey went through because bots are not built for learning about defense to an issue or exceptions to why someone may be in a grey area on if they actually broke a rule or not
