It's really become annoying to see 10+ "what can I get for 1 SB" trades in TC - they clutter up the Currency section of TC and TC in general.

I also feel they are a method of begging, as the trades are offering basically nothing in exchange for items.

I feel these should be reportable or even prevented if coding allows.

At this time, I would like to point out that for the next two weeks you all have an opportunity to say something that can make a difference regarding these trades in this topic made by the admins:
https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429462337

This suggestion has 791 supports and 102 NO supports.

God, yeah, and it's kinda sad. I really do just want this fun and games stuff moved to forums and maybe the "heehee jokes" people who think they're funny move back to only once in a while. But where we draw the line is a problem. Ugh

If someone is starting a joke/trend, I'd honestly advise them to make a thread solely for the purpose for others to advertise their and set up their own projects and follow their example of making sure they only do one at a time, to minimise the mass amount of joke trades we get in TC, and that's *all* we can hope they do.

I would like to support this idea, really, however like Limbless stated, it's nearly impossible to enforce that kind of rule without it getting out of hand and without it degrading the clarity of the code of conduct. Setting a minimum value for a trade isn't a plausible solution and brings more issues than resolutions. If 1 SB trades become banned, what does that mean for items worth that amount, like the values of certain items in Monkey Business? For example, in Monkey Business, a Hyrax Skull can be sold for 1 SB. What if you put up a trade, offering 1 SB, specifically looking for a Hyrax Skull? Would that be unfair? There are even items that can be sold in MB that are worth nothing, like the Pet Rock. Are players who sell Pet Rocks for any amount scamming others? I understand MB prices are independent of the TC, but it creates an issue for other trades that offer things considered "worthless" or near worthless. What if you're just looking to trade your water root for another, more sought after herb, an item generally considered to have no value outside of August or basic crafting? Can it even be considered begging, when applying the CoC, if you ARE exchanging something?

I completely agree 1 SB challenge trades and other trades in the same vein are annoying and clog the TC, and are a hassle to sift through and can be distracting to myself and others as neurodivergent people. But the moderators can not reasonably enforce such an unclear and arbitrary ban, especially since the values of items outside of implemented site shops like the MB or Event Shops, are ultimately decided by the players of Lioden. I think a more sustainable solution could just be expressing the idea that these trades are generally unwelcomed, like the original post is. We can agree, we can disagree, but it's really more of a social rule the players themselves have to suggest to other players if they wish to. i don't care for "joke" trades, but the solution of disallowing them will become a bigger problem itself.

It also results in targeted harassment in a way, and this will, and can, be considered admin abuse.

Precisely. While it is an issue, it's one where moderator involvement will be definitely and strongly argued against.

It's also not appropriate for them to take action when lioden is a walking spam site [sales, giveaways, TC, etc.]

Yep. Things are meant to and allowed to be spammed, in certain areas of the site and to a certain degree. That's what Lioden is pretty much built on, is self advertisement.

and removing that will make everyone leave. I guarantee it, The mods can't so shit in this situation, and the 1sb trades will eventually die like they did when they first happened 2 years ago.

Honestly, whenever someone puts up a "What can I get for 1 SB?" trade, I am so tempted to send them the Nothing background. Maybe one day I'll give in, but I don't as of now because I want trades like that to dwindle down again

I'd understand everyone doing it if they gave back to the community, like I am, but it's mostly for their benefit and they mostly say they won't accept things and in rare cases [apparently] people have accepted valuable muties and/or items for 1sb [this is manipulation in a way], such as hybrids; which is why such a topic causes tension.

Yeah, I've definitely seen trades where they've stated they won't accept the offers, just "curious to see what people are going to offer" but lie about it. It's terrible, but there's genuinely not much that can be done about it, as it was the person who offered on that trade that "chose" to do that and lose their items/lions, even if it was clearly manipulation

Yeah, moderators physically cant do anything about it, as the people offering do it at their own risk, which is stated in their ToS/CoC. They can't help you get lions back, and they never can in situations like that as it's the mutual acceptance of a trade, even if it's a lowball, between the two people.

it's honestly just a trend that will die down in a few weeks, it's not actually causing anyone harm by it flooding the TC, because we can quite easily just get rid of it by using the filtering system. We can't ban it as a solution, because then we'll just ban the next trend that annoys us. be realistic.

Man, you don't gotta tell me to be realistic. I really don't expect anything to happen, like usual. I was kinda gobsmacked when they actually listened to us about the haliotis app. I'm just grumpy like a lot of us are about this.
