Hi all!

FAPA, or Feed All Play All is an accessibility tool being sold as a convenience in Oasis for 5gb per 30 days

It makes the game actually playable for disabled people, people with busy lives, or people who don't have the time to manually feed potentially hundreds of lions every few days and manually play with potentially hundreds of lions every day. I myself have several issues with my hands and need to pay the fee just to be able to play the game at all.

For this reason it should be free and be able to be opted in in the same area of Oasis or be an optional setting on player profiles. No one should have to pay for the ability to play a free browser game.

The setting should be optional for people who want to not have it active for any reason, just to clarify.

comments on this post will no longer be read by the poster. Do not make any attempt to reach out to me- you will be blocked. Feel free to still leave comments as you, the reader, wish. To the people in the comments who left constructive criticism and/ or good alternative suggestions without attempting to argue with me directly, telling me that I'm just lazy and
to suck it up, making judgements of my character or financial status, or being off topic- thank you for doing so.

Edit 3, to quote Sani (#306974) from the comments: "I can already see some sort of welfare clan for disabled players going very poorly and I hope we can completely disregard that alternative to focus on the actual point of the post.

On an anonymous online browser game, how is a player supposed to "prove" their disability to be in the clan, especially when countless disabilities aren't visible? And otherwise, how do you stop non-disabled players from taking advantage of the program? It's also somewhat demeaning in itself to start pooling money to strangers so they can afford an accesibility tool, rather than the site being accessible to them in the first place. When a site like this one is founded in community efforts, it's very important to keep the entire site open and accessible to all players. Removing flash options, reducing movement, hiding markings, colorblind modes, etc. are all free accessibility tools available to players. A lot of people have mentioned that once you get to a higher number of lions, it becomes extremely tedious to have to interact with each lion individually. That's more than just from the disabled players in the community, it's from the busy ones too. I think it's an excellent idea to make fapa free if it's inconveniencing a large part of our playerbase, especially if it's viewed as an accessibility tool by some. A disabled player shouldn't need to pay $60 usd worth of premium currency every year to be ABLE to play the game without enduring unnecessary pains."

EDIT: Also, the aspect of it being a gb sink does not hit the intended demographic for it being one- it hits low income players instead. A gb miser with thousands or tens of thousands of gb isn't concerned with a 5gb fee.

Edit 2: An addendum for some concerns of both commenters and about comments by myself:

1. A suggestion was made in the comments to make a more premium version of FAPA that keeps toy and food benefits when used and make that paid and the original free which I support (Thanks Equagga|G5 Harbinger
DHR Felis (#105402)
!)

2. Lioden welfare is a ridiculous suggestion for a website with documented cases of doxxing over rls let alone anything else its ridiculous for which is also explored in the comments.

3. If I don't know you then I do not care about the details of your life. I opened the floor for opinions and constructive criticism, keep personal details out of the conversation please. THIS HAS BEEN ADDED AFTER ONE PERSON USED THE FLOOR AND THEIR CIRCUMSTANCES TO ARGUE ENDLESSLY IN THE EARLY COMMENTS- NOT BECAUSE I ONLY CARE ABOUT MYSELF. My hand issues are the only relevant issues to this discussion, I have much more but I didnt talk about them here bc its irrelevant.

4. "Conveinience items irl arent free" they're also accessibility tools or services and that is its own seperate issue. This is an online game and FAPA takes zero tangible resources.

5. "But 5gb isnt too much" I dont care. No one should have to pay to play a free game. Other games of this nature have FAPA as the default and free. Saying "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" over pixels is real weird.
Thank you for taking the time to read!

This suggestion has 209 supports and 87 NO supports.

Oh I forgot to say, if no supports could say why that would be appreciated!

If "you can make 5gb per month" is your reasoning, consider the fact that we're lucky companies don't make us pay for air :)

BIG SUPPORT. This is a huge accessibility tool for me, as you said, and having to pay 5gb every month (when i dont even have 5gb most of the time due to projects) is really sad and disappointing for me.

5x12=60 gb a year, if you have 2 accounts with FAPA that's 120gb a year, I'd rather not have to spend 120gb just to not feed a hundred lions manually

I support this post because you have a good point. Even though I am not disabled in a way that affects me so that I am required to use FAPA, but there are people who are. Just because it wouldn't benefit you personally doesn't mean that it doesn't matter to others.

As someone who works 7 days a wek and i get extremely burnt out...i definetly need this. I tend to pass out right before ro. and hitting that one feed all/play all button saves me so much energy and stress. It allows me to keep enjoying the game without wanting to quit the moment i see 200+ lions ran away. ya feel me?

as someone disabled with bad wrist and finger pain, i am always excited to see my newborn cubs and play my daily games but the prospect of spending 30-60 minutes in intense pain to feed my lions makes me not want to rollover at all. the site is already clunky and requires way too much button pressing to navigate as it is, especially on mobile.

Definitely support this! While I do have feed all/play all on this account I dint have it/use it on my side account and tend to have to manually do everything which tends to be difficult for me to do due to my short attention span or I just straight up lose patience doing so. I would definitely greatly appreciate it if this was an option

I think at least reducing price would be fair. I'm not sure how much FAPA actually affects the site's bottom line, frankly, so I'm not sure it would really hurt the income. I've certainly never purchased GB to afford it, because 5GB is not too tough to scrounge up every month for me and I imagine, for quite a lot of other people who are decently active. I generally just sell stuff from explore or shuffle.
The fact there are actually downsides to using FAPA is what makes it having a price a little bit funny to me. You do not get stat boosts or dropped skulls using FAPA, only using items on lions one at a time. You're exchanging the bonuses you could get from feeding/playing with your lions individually for saved time. The time saved is worth SOMETHING, especially if you're busy or have wrists that hate repetitive motion. But is it worth 5 GB a month, when stats matter and some skulls dropped by carcasses more valuable ones?

I think personally I would be happy just to see any kind of adjustment that takes this into account. For example, make regular FAPA free, and a new version of FAPA with stat gains and carcass item drops the paid version. I'd keep paying if that was implemented!

SUPPORT! I love doing it manually, as it allows me to check all my lions, see their ages and how they're doing, but sometimes it's also a hassle as there are days I'm too busy to feed and play with them. I'm also still a bit new to the game, so 5GB is just WAY to much to spend on it.

Support, i did use to do it manually but it go to much (prob my fault with updating terrirtory to 200 lions... but i love them all i cant get rid of them : ( ) and i did get it for my side to, since i was tried of having to go through and click play for all, and feed for all. having it free would be nice, or just like 1 GB or 2 GB if it still had to be payed

I support - there is already NO benefit for FAPA aside from time saved. I found out semi recently that you get none of the stat increases you get by feeding the lions manually, even when using stat boosting items (to my understanding, correct me if I'm wrong).

I'd be fine with the fee if the above disadvantage was removed...just feels irritating to me.

Do not support the solution but I understand the problem, particularly for disabled players.

I am MUCH LESS sympathetic to claims about not having time, just because I think if you cannot commit the time to be good at a game, then it just may not be the game for you. Similar to, say, theHunter: Call of the Wild or Animal Crossing, time* is a necessary component of gameplay.

I am also going to say that I am a fan of the phrase "hard games are fun games, and fun games are sustainable games." I am not into changes related to making the game easier, rather than just accessible (which, IMO, are not the same thing).

However, I do think there are other options for disabled players to obtain FAPA (or, more accurately, the 5GB to buy it). Initial thoughts include:
- clans dedicated to raising money to donate to disabled players.
- donation pools organized by one person
- an option that is cheaper similar to the nesting materials QoL change that happened a few months ago. Certainly not the same timesaver as FAPA, but certainly *is* easier.

*Putting this here because I forsee mentioning the timeskips of HCotW and AC. A) You PAY for timeskips in CotW and there are mods, but that's a game you pay for. Lioden is not necessarily one that requires real dollarinos. B) AC timeskip helps with continuous gameplay, but there is NO timeskip for actually investing thought into your island. In the end, I think all three games have struck a pretty good balance in how time passes (vs. when it doesn't).
