Nomads Of The Horizon
A wolf roleplay

The Rules

I. All LioDen Roleplay Rules apply.

II. No godmodding, powerplaying, gary/mary issues, etc.

III. Posts should be in third-person and past-tense, and players are expected to use correct spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation to the best of their abilities. At least a paragraph is required.

IV. We know that life can get in the way sometimes, but please, if you know beforehand that you won't be able to post for a while, let us all know!

V. Fade to black when necessary. I suppose you all get it by now.

VI. Please be polite to everyone OOC. If there is any problem with other members of the roleplay, i would like you to let me or moderators know rather than creating something unnecessary.

VII. You cannot harm or kill another character without making the action an attempt.

VIII. For the most part we are a realistic wolf roleplay; the only fantasy elements should be the characters’ “humanized” personalities and their ability to speak. This means no magical abilities, accessories, or unnatural physical traits (wings, horns, etc).

IX. We encourage you to 'follow the current'; Not knowing what will happen makes the roleplay more interesting and fun, reason why we attempt to avoid OOC plotting. "Character A should meet Character B" is acceptable. "Character A and character B should become mates and start a pack" is not.

X. There will be no formed packs at the beginning. These will be created throughout the roleplay, and to do so, a minimum of five wolves with a common goal assemble and claim a land as their territory. In order for the pack to be accepted, the player of the lead wolf should PM me to receive the pack creation form, and send it back will all the information needed. As for now, we believe that three packs would be a good maximum, though this can change in the future depending on how many members join. Also, please don't create packs right away. Your wolf should take their time to know who their pack-mates will be, to say the least.

XI. New Rule. Things made by man, such as buildings, roads, etc., are non-existent in the lands of Greylea, and there will be no interaction between wolves and humans. Please ignore any constructions that the references show.

XI. New Rule. Please put at the beginning of each post a 'header'. This is used to avoid confussion and to have a more organized post. Stating who your character is interacting with and their location is extremely important, also for the mentioned reasons. An example:

Venus | Female | 2 years, 8 months | Wanderer
Location: Eastern Plains | Mentions: Nivalis, Asaroth

Not only Venus had ended with empty paws, but with a sore head and almost no air in her lungs, owed to the final landing over her chest. The scent of other wolves lingered and passed through her nose, her eyes opening in alert, though it was when she noticed a white and large figure before her that she stood up, obviating the daze that she still had. Or she was hallucinating, and the white figure had slipted up in two, or two creatures were ahead of her. She backed off.

'Wolves.', said her eyes.

'Males.', said her nose.

'Company.', exclaimed her heart.

She did her best to listen to the conversation and to relax the muscles that tensed at their sudden appearance. If they had plans against her, they would have most probably already developed them, thought which allowed her body to show more confidence. "Thank you... Sweetheart,", she imitated the male's tone at the best of her ability, shaking her fur to send the dust and the dirt gained in the stumble to the ground rather than to keep it on herself. "Though when your destiny is the grassland, you don't need these advices.", Venus said with cynical manners, though not being discourteous. She was, however, curious to know how it was possible to survive in such a land for weeks. She soon guessed that some were more fit than others, and the small female could be considered as one that would probably die within the first days. Her ears then perked as her mind changed of subject, focusing on the words of the other male. Instead of being confused, or curious as usual, she found his comment amusing, at what she released a light and low chuckle. Who would want Venus as a mate? Just to tell that she refused to have other responsibilities was enough proof that she didn't believed in herself, not in the matter.

As one of them began to walk off, Venus saw an opportunity. She began to pad behind him in a slow pace, glancing over her shoulder at the other wolf. The smile that characterized her mischief and ambition was rosing her lips. "Well, i have an offer that will result in benefit for the three of us."

Luma//Female//Loner//Southern Woodlands//Hades,Bee,Kairos,Lilith,Varda,Gaya

Luma watched a small she-wolf barged into the mess. She yelled for everyone to share and stop fighting.Luma chuckled lightly in a wolfish way.She made sure to stay quiet and in noticed. One of the wolves,a she-wolf,s aid there was a white tailed deer near by.Then she padded off.Luma looked thoughtfully at the she-wolf,and decided to follow her.Luma got up slightly, just enough to move quietly. She followed the she-wolf,and soon saw her chasing a rabbit, even though the scent of that deer she mentioned was in the air.L ima watched as the she-wolf padded farther off to go eat.Luma watched as the she-wolf hungrily ate.Luma felt a little bad,so she approached the wolf.

"Hello."Luma said.

Name: Sparrow | Gender:Female | Age: Around 5 years | Location: Eastern Plains
Mentions: Zeriko

Sparrow nodded her agreement, this wolf clearly wasn't from the Eastern Plains, his pelt was far to thick for the environment, and from the way he walked it she could guess his paws were scarped and maybe even slightly burned from the hot rocks and sand.
“Fill up, Your not going to find a bigger pool any time soon.” She said, voice calm but with a slight edge. Not bothering getting but, the she-wolf watched him drink, the smooth glass-like surface breaking into ripples, she had to admit he was quit attractive, but not her type. 'Domino would have been drooling over him in an instant.' she thought, remembering her reaction to every strong brute that they ever came across. Suddenly the image of her sisters corpse flashed in her mind, the taste of her blood on her tongue. Shaking her head Sparrow tried to play it off and an itch and reached one of her front paws and batted at her left ear.

Kairos | Southern Woodlands | Loner | Ment: Hades / Gaya / Lillith / Bee / a bear

The wolf that was next to him and being rather chatty went off to hunt. Good for her, it was already thinning out. Then, a few realizations came to Kairos: there was a new wolf who barged in, and it looked like the injured wolf had a mate. His flicked his eyes to the newcomer, still staying silent. Well, to him she had the right idea. Sharing was a win for him, no matter how small the scraps.

A pity the male was throwing a fit over it. He'd just need to get far enough away and he could return later. And he was about to, until the dwarf's head snapped to behind him, hearing the underbrush crack as something lumbered forwards. A bear, attracted by blood and noise. He'd only just noticed it in the silence that followed, and it was practically right on its ass: a large female. He immediately darted into the clearing, taking a wide bearth as the bear roared at him, rising up onto her hind legs.

Well, a bear was easier to handle than two aggressive wolves. Just don't provoke it and you could sit close by. The catch was him getting away first! Thankfully, the bear mas making a beeline for the carcass, more interested in chasing off the two wolves than a tiny dwarf.

Shadow | Female | 4 years | Wanderer
Western Grasslands | Mentions: None / Open

Shadow had found herself sitting down with an empty mind and stomach. The only trace of emotion was in her voice. A small amount of what seemed to be anger, possibly even grief. The female kept shifting her paws, subconsciously muttering something small and quiet to herself. Something possibly meaningless to all but her. The words were just quiet things, the occasional 'no' coming through as she came to realise exactly what she was doing. The thoughts slipped back into her mind, allowing the black wolf to become silent and somewhat serene. That lasted a mere second or two before her paws almost forced her up. They itched for a chase or a fight of some sort. She wanted to come into contact with another wolf, or at least another animal. She sighed gently to herself, first pressing her nose to the grass then the air. Maybe she could catch a rabbit or something? That would be decently filling - probably not enough to sort her out for the day though. It would be a small snack, just something to keep herself going for a little while.

What was rather exciting, however, was that she was sure she had either caught some form of howl or had found the scent of another wolf. Perhaps there would be a chance for her to test out the strength of her jaws on someone who could fight back. Or maybe a challenging catch would allow that. However, she had learned that large hunts were not very successful when carried out alone. When she had been back with her parents, any hunts that went on, when she and her siblings were old enough to take part, had been carried out by all six of them. Seven in the first few hunts she went on with Scar too. But then everyone... haha... well, died. The hunts didn't really work that often since it became just her and her father. Then, when she left, being fed relied on her own ability to hunt smaller animals and her ability to sniff out catches from other wolves. A couple of her scars had come from scavenging. Not all of them, though. Only very few.

Éric | Male | 4 years | Wanderer
Northern Icelands | Mentions: None / Open

Cold but needing to eat, Éric stalked through the cold Icelands, his eyes simply set upon the land beneath his paws as he moved along. The male realised he was likely too small and too weak to be going through this but he went on anyway, his one leg still lifted but occasionally lowering a little to almost brush the ground below. His heart was pounding. His fur wasn't thick enough, was it? He felt like he should crumble and give in to the cold but he wasn't going to do that. He refused. Maybe he could find something to eat. He could probably do with food. Might warm up his stomach a little, maybe his body. He hoped, anyway. Éric wished he could be with his family. They would have made sure he was well-fed, surely. Or they would have kicked him out. Huh... Who wouldn't? It was clear who killed Adder, wasn't it? There was no hiding something like that. No way at all to keep it secret. Secrets were always revealed sooner or later.

[[Sorry I'm so late to the party, people. c;]]

Zeriko ‡ Male ‡ Loner ‡ 3years 5 months ‡ Location: Eastern Plains ‡ Mentions: Sparrow ‡ Status: Refreshed and alert

Zeriko swiped his tongue across his wet muzzle. He looked at the she-wolf, his golden orbs locked at her direction. Her scent was filled with that of the Eastern Plains. For some odd and strange reason, she looked a bit like his mother, which made him smile a bit as he pictured her image. He got up and shook his pelt, then turned to face her completely, taking note of her strange actions but acted like he didn't realized about anything.

"Do you know where I can find any prey to satisfy my hunger?" He asked with a tilt of his head. His eyes gleamed with excitement at the thought of food. However, he kept his ears raised, alert for any danger. His attention focused on the female, not completely ready to trust her, but his hunger gave away.

Something about her gave Zeriko a cold chill down his spine. He was careful to not let her notice how uncomfortable he felt. He looked away for a moment catching another group of scents. 'More wolves? Nearby? How was it I didn't picked up their scents earlier?' Fortunately, these wolves weren't in a pack by their scents, which made him relaxed his muscles and a sigh escaped his lips. However, these news wasn't something to be eager about. The different scents were definitely the scents of lone wolves, due to his experienced in his old pack which they always seemed to gather many wandering lone wolves. He only hoped for the best, that trouble wont rise between them and himself. 'Why and how did I ended up here?'

OOC: No worries. It happens to me quite often lol. And sorry for such a late reply Dx

Redwood|Male|5 years|Loner|Location: Southern Woodlands|Mentions: Wolves surrounding carcass and bear

Its been several days since Redwood's and Heilo's parents and siblings died. They're now making they're way through the woods
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Redwood and his sister, Heilo, padded through the dense forest, scavenging for a quick meal. They recently licked up a few mouthfuls of cool water, which felt good for his parched throat. He knew Heilo felt the same. It was his job to take care of and watch his little sister, he promised himself he would. She was too you to survive on her own, and because of their sibling's and parent's deaths, it was his job to take care of her. He tried his best to teach her everything he knew, but it was difficult. She was a difficult learner.

"Redwood, I can smell something!" She yelped, jumping up and down. Redwood took a sniff to the air, and realized what she had scented: many wolves and a bear. He looked down to Heilo to warn her to stay close, but she was gone. "Heilo!" He barked, becoming frantic. Heilo, where are you!?" He yelped. Redwood soon got a hint of her sent, and it was leading strait to the other wolves and bear. 'They'll tear her apart!' he thought frantically, dashing after her.

He soon caught up, and found her gaping up at the large bear. She had never seen one before, so she was amazed by its size. Redwood looked around at the other wolves, who had seemed to be fighting over a carcass, until the bear arrived.

Harley(Raven)|Female|3 Years|Location: Eastern Plains|Mentions: OPEN|

Raven was starving. Her stomach growled, and she was practically dragging her body across the rocky land. She was unable to catch any prey, she wasn't stealthy enough. Besides, she needed hunting practice, since she was born in captivity. She was headed toward the Western Grasslands, where grass grew and water was plentiful, as well as food. Her stomach growled at the thought of it. She had been traveling for a few days now, luckily not having a run in with another wolf. She wasn't prepared to fight in this condition. She kept going, only to stop to drink when she found a pool of water, which she practically drank all up. She felt a cool breeze, knowing winter would set in soon enough.

Graylethe | Male | 3 Years | Wanderer
Location: Northern Icelands | Mentions: N/A ~ Open

A large grey shadow flew quickly through dark trees, concealing his presence from any eyes, along with silenced footsteps by the thick snow that covered the land. His ears were shoved forward, toes extended to prevent him from sinking into the cold powder as he followed a scent. White-tailed deer.

By what he could smell of what was left from the Hooved prey, it was a fawn. Separated from the herd, and solitarily wandering the Icelands. If he was quick, he might be able to catch it before it was reunited with its group, but it was a small chance, based mostly on the fact the scent was very faint, and he didn't even know if another hungry predator had already caught it. He hoped if this was the case, it wasn't a brown bear. The grey wolf had had his share with the large beasts, and wisely did his best to dodge them, especially if he were alone.

Exiting the small forest, he stopped short at the edge, scanning the horizon for any sign of movement, or a bright tawny against the snow. His breathing was heavy, jaws open just enough to let the cool air in to soothe his burnt lungs. Swiveling his ears in every direction, he bent his head towards the snow to take in deep breaths through his nostrils, now desperate to find the scent he had just lost. Freezing in his movement, a faint shuffling to his right caught his attention. Turning his head in the direction of the noise, he pushed his ears forward, allowing him to clearly hear snow being shifted around. Cautiously he walked towards it, his head low as he drew nearer, the only thing now separating him and the cause of the noise being a large tree. Oh and how he hoped it was the fawn...

Karael l Male l Location: Northern icelands l Mentions: Graylethe

The air was sharp with the early chill, but the sun still beat hot upon his back. Karael licked ice from between the pads of his toes and rubbed his cold nose along the inside of his foreleg until the scents of the day came clearer, sharper. The icelands were inhospitable but not, it seemed, totally abandoned, for over the scent of the deer he'd been trailing, he could smell wolf.

This was not the bitter scent of the other stranger, nor even the crisp bite of Iriel's familiar scent, but something else entirely, and he had to wonder what had brought so many here, now. Karael had smelled no pack marks on the land, had seen no caches. It was part of what had drawn him here, and, he reasoned, that same draw might have brought others to this same place. Karael raised his nose to the wind, breathed in deeply, and raised his ears just as another male slunk round the tree of the trunk he'd sheltered beside.

This one was hardly any smaller than the last. He chuffed low in the back of his throat, amused, and rose squarely to all fours, "They breed them big here, do they?"

Nivalis | Male | 2 years, 8 months | Wanderer
Location: Eastern Plains | Mentions: Venus, Asaroth

OOC: Lego, I have trouble knowing which male you're talking about xD Help me out a little? :3 Also, once packs are formed, will it be the usual "Alpha Male+Female", and others may not have pups type of thing? Does it vary between packs?

Nivalis' ears perked. Is that so? He asked, a small grin on his face. He wasn't usually this friendly, but the she-wolf had proved herself, well, not hostile. He was more careful about the other male. She was his age as well, and he didn't feel overpowered. Plans that benefit all of us. He repeated, twitching his tail. He turned around slightly, showing interest, but not eagerness. By that you mean... Cooperation? The thought flickered across his mind for a second. The idea seemed new, fresh, and dizzyingly possible. And scary, though he'd never admit that. Cooperation meant plenty of chances to be betrayed, and a pack. And fights, and... Strength. Nivalis couldn't deny, cooperation had its perks. But he was surely getting ahead of himself.

Nivalis quickly glanced at the other male, wary of his reaction. Many wolves weren't so open to working together, especially those who were well off on their own. This male looked strong, well-fed, and rather happy. Nivalis hated to admit it, but he could do better. Sure, he had prey and it was easy for him to get some, but it was tiring to have to focus on your next meal day and night. Nivalis shouldn't be, but he was currently open to anything.

Gaya | Female | 2 years, 1 months | Wanderer
Location: Southern Woodlands | Mentions: Luma

Gaya's head snapped up. She stood up, stepping over her hare protectively. Hello, She said cautiously. She raised her tail in weariness. It was the female wolf who had barged in, trying to get them to share. Gaya didn't know how to deal with her. Explain that wolves didn't do that? Ask her where she was raised, having a mindset like that? With big soft white sheep? Gaya chuckled softly at the thought, but she kept her eyes on the new female. What did she want, anyway? She was certainly not sharing her hare, no matter what the other female thought.

Her fur was still flat, and Gaya was calculating whether she could take her down. Although the female was older, it wasn't by much, and Gaya thought she might be less of a softie. She licked her lips of remaining blood, eager to return to her kill. She hoped this encounter wouldn't take too long. In fact, she wouldn't be bothered if the female left without saying anything. If anything, Gaya wanted a strong pack, and this she-wolf... Gaya really didn't know. She seemed to be a little... embarrassing.

Name: Sparrow | Gender:Female | Age: Around 5 years | Location: Eastern Plains
Mentions: Zeriko

Sparrow flicked an ear irritably. 'I swear to the moon if you try to hit on me I will take great pleasure in ripping your face to shreds.' she thought, And was quit relived when he asked his question instead, even if it was a odd way of saying it. Nodding she replied: “You can find mice and lizards in cracks, but your just as likely to find a rattlesnake.” Her shoulders rose in a shrug.
“or try burrows, they have hares and maybe an owl but again, venomous snakes could be there too.” She smirked. “So just try to learn what they smell like before sticking your nose somewhere it doesn't belong.”

Noticing him stiffen slightly, when her own amber eyes met with his yellow pair, she shifted her weight slightly to the other side of her body, stretching out luxuriously. “There's no need to be afraid.” she said, Placing one paw over the other, Her rough paw pads running over the top of her paw for a brief moment.
“Lone wolves come and go.” clicking her tongue she added. “That is if their able to stand the heat.” Nodding at his own frame. “Which you are clearly not built for.”
