Nomads Of The Horizon
A wolf roleplay

The Rules

I. All LioDen Roleplay Rules apply.

II. No godmodding, powerplaying, gary/mary issues, etc.

III. Posts should be in third-person and past-tense, and players are expected to use correct spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation to the best of their abilities. At least a paragraph is required.

IV. We know that life can get in the way sometimes, but please, if you know beforehand that you won't be able to post for a while, let us all know!

V. Fade to black when necessary. I suppose you all get it by now.

VI. Please be polite to everyone OOC. If there is any problem with other members of the roleplay, i would like you to let me or moderators know rather than creating something unnecessary.

VII. You cannot harm or kill another character without making the action an attempt.

VIII. For the most part we are a realistic wolf roleplay; the only fantasy elements should be the characters’ “humanized” personalities and their ability to speak. This means no magical abilities, accessories, or unnatural physical traits (wings, horns, etc).

IX. We encourage you to 'follow the current'; Not knowing what will happen makes the roleplay more interesting and fun, reason why we attempt to avoid OOC plotting. "Character A should meet Character B" is acceptable. "Character A and character B should become mates and start a pack" is not.

X. There will be no formed packs at the beginning. These will be created throughout the roleplay, and to do so, a minimum of five wolves with a common goal assemble and claim a land as their territory. In order for the pack to be accepted, the player of the lead wolf should PM me to receive the pack creation form, and send it back will all the information needed. As for now, we believe that three packs would be a good maximum, though this can change in the future depending on how many members join. Also, please don't create packs right away. Your wolf should take their time to know who their pack-mates will be, to say the least.

XI. New Rule. Things made by man, such as buildings, roads, etc., are non-existent in the lands of Greylea, and there will be no interaction between wolves and humans. Please ignore any constructions that the references show.

XI. New Rule. Please put at the beginning of each post a 'header'. This is used to avoid confussion and to have a more organized post. Stating who your character is interacting with and their location is extremely important, also for the mentioned reasons. An example:

Graylethe | Male | 3 Years | Wanderer
Location: Northern Icelands | Mentions: Kareal ~ Open

He stumbled back a bit to see a wolf crawl out from within the tree trunk. Confusion quickly taking over is features as he gazed down at the male. As he spoke, his words did nothing but confuse him further, and he cocked his head to the side, muttering out a low, "what?" Graylethe was a little more than disappointed it had not been the young white-tail who was hiding behind the tree, and this somewhat angered him, though he knew it wasn't fair to point his annoyance in the strangers direction, and did his best to hide it with a halfhearted smile.

"Sorry, but have you seen a dear run past here?" He asked, sitting back on his haunches to level himself better with the male as he awaited an answer. Not really expected a yes from the stranger, he couldn't help but wonder. Though he already assumed he lost the young calfling prior to a day ago, which only angered him more, then again he did well to conceal it by widening his smile, suspecting it looked rather awkward with his creased eye ridges angled up in worry.

Luma//Female//Southern Woodlands//Gaya

The other she-wolf looked at Luma, and studied her for a bit.Luma could tell by the look in the other wolf's eyes that she was contemplating attacking.

"Don't try it.I came here to help. That measly hare won't do much, maybe keep the hunger pangs away for a while.I think that we should take down that deer you mentioned.I can smell it."Luma barked quietly. She continued looking at the she-wolf.

"I was watching that little fight that was happening, with all those wolves. You did say that a deer shouldn't be too much trouble. Why didn't you go catch it?Seems to me you can't hunt."Luma said, slightly tauntingly. She raised her tail in a more friendly, yet dominant way. Most wolves thought she was weak, but Luma was strong.

"I'm Luma by the way."

((Oh and btw,Bee barged in.I hid in grass while no one noticed me.))

Ahtrek|Male|3 Years 7 Months|Wanderer| Eastern Plains
Mentions: None|

Jagged ravines tormented the lone black brute, large eyes enveloping this barren landscape that seemed to grown in its own misery of sorrow and pettiness. Alas, here he was...The rouge male was simply passing through, seeking no interest in having a true settlement; large pads scraping against the scorned rocks that had become eroded between the harsh beams and unappealing licks of stranded rain water. If one travels long enough throughout this turmoil of a home, their paws would become raw with relentless beatings, surely grass would be considered the better option but.. There is no grass here; well just a handful that appeared as if someone had gathered all of it and thrown it across entry creating little specks of lime. An infantry of smells aroused the turbinates that aligned inside his nose canals allowing for a more sensitive sense of smell, about 1.75 miles away. On foot, one mile seemed forever, but it could easily be broken into parts by trekking on an occasional gait or gallop. Must be nice to be a herbivore with hooves... their hooves don't get as much damaged as a wolf's pads. However, one wrong move or twist, and a broken fetlock is surely. Cervical neck muscles began to tense and constricted as his large cranium uplifted to carry his nose towards the sun. Open naries collected lingering scents that drifted freshly from ports, registering from his brain any recognizable scents.

The bile sting of decay impaled his senses, causing Ahtrek to take a step back in disgust, the faint silhouette of vultures circling aloft the horizon. Something had died around here, but by the judge of it, too long ago. More scents made their humble way into his refractory bulb and what else could it be..More wolves.. His heart, feeling shattered and betrayed suddenly received a small boost of hope, but fear started to gnaw at the tip of his tail. It seems he has disturbed the borderline of a neighboring pack, he was sure of it. There were three different scents, but they combined into a circling trio of dancing, pushing and pulling freely together. As a pack their scents would surely become one, but each scent was very distinctive... And yet, no border scents were labelled here, not that he noticed. Perhaps this was a newly formed pack that he has unknowingly stumbled upon?

Moon | Female | 3 Years, 7 Months | Wanderer | Eastern Plains | Mentions: Ahtrek

The she-wolf had been following this dark wolf for a while now, his journey seemed just as aimless as hers. He soon stopped, and she could smell why. The scent of a carcass, but other wolves as well. The she-wolf decided to stop hiding her pawsteps. Moon padded up to the dark-furred male, and casually started a conversation as if nothing had happened. She appeared beside, but slightly behind him, so she could look in the same direction as the wolf, but still see if he made a move to attack. This was a huge risk, but possibly quite an entertaining introduction. 'So, do you think you're going to try to take them on for the carcass, or join them?' She asked, and without waiting for a response, continued. 'I'd say try to join them, a group is easier to survive in, but messing around with wolves is fun, and theres the possibility of a carcass,' the thought out-loud to the wolf. Hopefully he'd find it entertaining, and not just attack her.

((Gosh, I hope it doesn't look like I copied off of Moon's age, hehe ^.^ It just popped in my head.))

Ahtrek|Male|3 Years 7 Months|Wanderer| Eastern Plains
Mentions: Moon

Charcoal ears immediately went erect, pupils enlarging in reaction to hearing this stranger behind him. His neck turned so quickly with a flex, stone yellow eyes now fixated on a silvery/grey and white figure. Her voice obviously female caught him by surprise. Ahtrek fumbled a worse or two, trying to fight back the instant reaction of a growl. Letting his body adjust to the scenario, the large brute turned his thick body to face this slender female. She seemed passive, just like her coat pattern that seemed to be mostly white with stretches of grey/silver covering her backside like a coat. Surprised to see her here was pretty evident, he was unsure whether to break this brief silence with a hello or good bye. He looked down at still paws, how long has she been there? Frustration flared his nostrils heavily, how could his guard be so poor when passing through unknown territory. Confusingly, was he caught by the owner of this land, or a simple wanderer like himself. Adhering to her soft tone and bypassing her words it was evident that she too, was sensing the same obstacle. Aggression was not needed, but weariness was truthful, as Ahtrek took a step back to give himself space. Glancing over his shoulder with a stiff gaze, he acknowledged her statement with admittance. " I don't intend to do neither.." His tone was defiant." Just simply passing through.." He locked his view back onto the silver female. "" It seems like you have plans to do something, eh?" He was becoming amused by this wolf's interest in him. It had been a pretty good while since he actually made a conversation with someone.

(It doesn't haha, all good)

Moon | Female | 3 Years, 7 Months | Wanderer | Eastern Plains | Mentions: Ahtrek

The she-wolf laughed light-heartedly before beginning, 'I just felt like starting a conversation, and seeing what you were like,' she smiles, 'I tend to avoid groups of wolves. Hey, if it's okay, could I travel with you for a little? It'd be easier to take down bigger prey if we came across any..' She reasoned, this wolf seemed pretty nice, and she'd like to spend some time with a friend. She smiled up at the larger wolf hopefully, friends were good to have, and kind wolves were rare. Well, he might not be a kind wolf, but that was what she was getting from him in this conversation. Moon's tail wagged slowly in hope that he could be a friend.

Ahtrek|Male|3 Years 7 Months|Wanderer| Eastern Plains
Mentions: Moon

Ahtrek's eyes raised as similar to eyebrow's of a human's raising in confusion. This wolf was so..friendly.. Why? He questioned in his thoughts. He wasn't going to trust this wolf right off the backpaw like that. And yet.. why was she so enthusiastic to travel with another stranger unaware of what he could do to her. Of course, his intentions were nothing of the sort but his trust of her was so light and easily breakable. She did share a simple thing in common. I tend to avoid groups of wolves He recalled her sentence. Oddly enough, he tried to as well. A huff of air bowled profusely from his nostrils, this female reminded him of a pup, so readily to do anything.. But she did have a point, it would be easier to caught bigger game around here. The small morsels of rats and mice simply just aren't enough to keep a large male such as himself going, and judging the silver female's frame, she could use a good meal too. Hunger began to throb at his innards like a blade. " You are a bit too friendly my dear.." He shifted his large black paws, ready to start moving again. His upper lip began to withdrawal to display some sort of abatement. "But if you insist.. Keep your distance.." He shook his maw, shaking off a stream of saliva that was starting to drip from his fangs.

Moon | Female | 3 Years, 7 Months | Wanderer | Eastern Plains | Mentions: Ahtrek

Her tail lowered slightly at the male's comment on her friendliness, but her ears remained perked. 'Well, yeah, i'm pretty friendly. I don't want to start any battles that I can't fight, but if it would make you more comfortable, I could be more.. Antisocial,' she suggested. Moon didn't want to be immediately rejected, so she kept trying to make a friend. It was probably her being friendly that drove his suspicion, of course you'd be suspicious of a wolf who just appeared and started a conversation. The female made a mental note to work on that. Moon then looked up when he agreed to her company, 'thank you,' she smiled, then continued, 'so, do you have a plan or route, or are you just wandering?' The she-wolf asked with genuine curiosity.

Lilith l Southern Plains l Mentions: Hades, outsiders gaya, bee, kairos and Luma and a fucking bear

Illuminated blues flickered briefly to the tall brush when it begun to move once more and another wolf (Luma) had slipped by almost unnoticed. Her gaze then flickered to the other three whom seemed to be speaking ongst themselves after the newest female wolf (bee) so rudely suggested they share Hades and her kill. Damn moronic bitch. She didn't share squat. Het mate did all the work while she was out for a run and checking a few things out and niw they wanted them to share THIER food!? No wonder they looked half starved. Snorting in disgust with a evident glare in her narrowed gaze, the beautiful alabaster she wolf turbed upon her paws to converse with her mate when the next unspeakable presence happened. A bear. Greaat. Sighing in annoyance, Lilith had nudged her mate to stand up while she took a portion of the deer, a fatty rear limb with part of the back strap attached and began trotting away. She hoped her mate wouldn't be an idiot and try to challenge the bear. They, together, could just go and kill another deer later on in the evening. Coming to a stop upon the ridge, she looked down at the bear as it begun to sniff the air and make it way towards her now wasted supper. Damn outsiders coated us today's worth of a meal.

Hades l Northern icelands l Mentions: Open

Resting upon his haunched atop a ice ridge, the colossal mass of obsidian fur stared out upon at the empty wastelands covered in soon to be fresh snow. His nostrils twitched and flared as he took scent if the up coming blizzard that would surely freeze a few bison to death. If anything wanted to survive the frigid storm that killed most, they would need to find a suitable den. Alike his own that was deep within an old sea cavern that now sat above the ocean floor from millions of years ago. He had bedded it with old furs from his last kills, pelts from his fallen opponents and whatever dead greenery he found suitable to lay upon. Ears flickering atop his thick skull, he tilted his maw towards the heavens and released his deep melodic song to warn the stranger before of the coming storm. If he had any sense he would find Xerxes and take shelter with him.. after bowing. (Yep 😂)

Asaroth l Eastern Plains l Mentions: Venus, Kairos

Head tilted curiously at the females tone at first, the male couldn't help but internally frown a bit when she chose to walk beside the arrogant ass brute. Well then. Snorting softly, Asaroth chose to sit upon his finely plumped rump and stare after the two as they moved further and further away. His wide ears flickering when the she wolf said she had an offer for them. Then his ears pinned back slightly when the male gave him a look and commented on if they would be working together. If you want my help, that walking asshole with a wolf disguise will have to stop with the attitude. Or else he can starve for all I care.

(Seeing as no one went to see Mephesto xD can't do shit for him.)

Zeriko ‡ Male ‡ Loner ‡ 3yrs 5 months ‡ Mentions: Sparrow ‡

It felt like a bullet struck him on the head. He gave out a nervous chuckle, disguising his thoughts about this fae. 'God, she's cold.' "Eh, well I encouter a snake. Almost died but thanks for my careless actions I seem to have lost it." He looked away, twitching. Why the hell did I told her that? He muttered wishing he kept his mouth shut. "Anyways, cant you be a bit useful? Such as finding big game instead of me having to bump into another snake? Zeriko shut his eyes remembering he was pretty much alone and not with his family. He clentched his teeth, at the painful memory that was beginning to haunt him again. He shook his head, getting the horrifying image out of his mind. He lifted his eyes once more to look at her. "For a fact, big game sure is hard locating in a place you dont truly know by heart. Also, hard to hunt down without getting your ass beaten, without back up to help you out." Zeriko had to take his chance. If it meant staying alive. "Besides, at least we could have a nice meal for a change. Instead of small rodents. He paused, then continued this time not facing her, as his blood boiled at the thought of venomous snakes. "So what do you say? You're in?

Zeriko wanted to bare his fangs into this fae. 'She is extremely cold' That sure did hurt him more then claws and teeth tearing through your flesh. She was definitely the type who will spit out their opinons out loud."You sure like blabbering your oppions out,eh?" 'It truely explains the fact why you dont have a mate yet." He thought as he observed her closely. He picked up the fact that she was definitely older then him. She was definitely not close to his age for certain. "Well anyways, it isnt exactly my fault i have thicker fur then you in the first place."

He forgotten all about the wolves he scented earlier, as he approached the female. He was taller compared to her. But, she does seem to match his stealth. He gave out a grin. "Pardon me for my recklessness. Anyways, I didnt mean to get you bundled up. Had to know if you are not another one of those sensitive wolves I usally bump into."

Gaya | Female | 2 years, 1 months | Wanderer
Location: Southern Woodlands | Mentions: Luma

OOC: A white tail deer is acutally quite hard for a single wolf, because of it's speed. (In winter, when it's hard to navigate the snow, wolves have an advantage over the deer.) Also, my timezone probably is different, Lunar, so it's natural for me not to be on at the same time as you.

Gaya's eyes turned cold. Nevermind, Gaya didn't want her in her pride anyway. Sorry to say, She snapped threateningly. But we all know that you alone could not catch a white tailed deer on your own either. And anyway, there isn't one./. She growled at the female. Usually she wouldn't mind being friendly, but this female was pushing it. I don't need your help, She added, lifting her tail. I'll be completely fine hunting on my own. With one last growl, she turned away, dragging her hare in her mouth. Goodbye, Luma. Please don't annoy me anymore.

Gaya padded through the undergrowth, and found herself another comfortable area to sit down and finish her hare. Weak? She thought, snorting. A white tail dear was a good catch, even for a pack. A single wolf in fall had no chance of hunting one down. It was too fast, too alert. If anything, either the other female was inexperienced, or just wanted to daunt her. Gaya knew better. Because of leaving her pride at such an early age, she surprisingly felt herself more knowledgeable about living alone. Still, she needed to improve skill-wise.

Luma//Female//Southern Woodlands//Gaya(breifly)

Luma laughed heartily at the other she-wolf padded off.Pestering other wolves was always fun.Luma padded away from all other wolves, pondering on wether or not to hunt.Luma's stomach growled, and she decided that she should hunt.Luma took a deep breath, looking for any scents leading to prey.A few rabbits and a fox were in the area.Luma decided to go after the rabbits, beofre that fox did.Luma sniffed the air again, and picked up the scent of another rabbit. She set off quietly in the direction of her prey.Luma caught sight of the fox,and that cunning creature was feasting on rabbit.Luma bared her teeth, and growled.

"That prey was mine"she told the fox.The fox looked at Luma, and stood up with its teeth bared.Luma walked forward, and snarled. The fox darted at her, biting at her legs.Luma stepped back, and bit at the fox's neck.S he missed. The fox bit again at her paws, and got her left pane.Luma yelped, then snarled. The pain fueled her anger.Luma darted forward, and bit the fox's leg.She lifted the smaller creature up,and then threw it back down. She grabbed it's neck, and shook the fox's body ruthlessly.Luma decided the fox was dead, and started to eat it.It didn't taste great, but hey,its food.Luma picked up the remaining meat, and padded off.Once she was far away enough,Luma set down the remains. She laid down beside her prey, and stayed alert for other wolves.

OOC: May I suggest other prey for the Woodlands?

Gaya | Female | 2 years, 1 months | Wanderer
Location: Southern Woodlands/Western Grasslands | Mentions: Open!

Gaya, happier from a filled belly, sniffed the air. Searching for some more prey, she padded through the woods. Each noise made her ears perk, but it always seemed to be an alert songbird. The sun was starting to set, and the dim light barely reached the soil beneath her paws. Suddenly, something caught her attention. A squirrel. The fat, plump, animal was close, and nibbling on a walnut. Gaya crept forward slowly, and then pounced. The squirrel, unfortunately, saw her at the last moment and darted under the roots of an old tree. Gaya growled in frustration and scratched at the tree. trying to scare the squirrel out of its hiding place.

Defeated, Gaya left the squirrel and reached a small stream. It was shallow and clear, as Gaya could see the round pebbles at the bottom. She stepped into it, letting the cold water clean her muddied paws. It relaxed her, and maybe she could even catch fish! This was doubtful, though, as the stream was tiny and probably would be too shallow for any acceptable fish. Gaya decided to bend her head down and lap at the water. Cool and fresh, Gaya felt renewed and full of strength. Gaya decided to follow the little river downstream, staying in the water to mask her scent and pawprints. She really didn't want that stupid she-wolf following her.

The stream started to widen once the land became flat. The Western Grasslands. It would provide less coverage for Gaya to hunt, but she eagerly took up the challenge. She stayed close to the now gurgling, wide river, and stepped out of the water. It now could definitely sweep her off her feet, and who knew where the water eventually went? One thing Gaya rememberd from her training with... She closed her eyes. Ogaye, She thought sadly. She wondered how he was doing now. She shook her head, clearing the dark thoughts. One thing she remembered, was that fish could sense her shadow. She positioned herself so that her shadow was behind her, and patiently, crouched low, her eyes following a single, decent-sized fish. After some time, the fish approached her, and Gaya raised her paw slowly. Finally batting at the fish, she pushed it onto land. Clumsily, she tried trapping it under her paws. For a moment, it almost returned to water, but a well aimed blow sent it far inland. Gaya padded over to it, and ate it with quick bites.
