She couldn't wait to hunt but at the same time she wanted to go hide and not go. She hears another thunder. She feels a cool breeze go through her fur, making her relax. She smiles, feeling better now.

Hawkpaw smiled looking to Snowpaw. He sniffed the air but couldn't smell anything really. He looked around wondering if he could spot anything. He saw a bird in a tree. He wanted to climb it but knew it was a bad idea. It was all wet and slippery. He looked around wondering if any Other animals were around. He tasted the air still looking around. He saw a vole coming out of it's hole. Hawkpaw dropped into a crouch putting all his weight on his haunches. He got close enough then pounched putting one paw on the vole. He killed it swiftly then picked it up in his jaws. Oh how he loved hunting.

Shrewflight smiled as the two apprentices began to hunt; Hawkpaw's success was well done. She set her sights on a large oak, climbing it effortlessly and sitting on the base of a branch as still as possible until a woodpecker came near, unaware of her presence. She merely watched as it preened, then struck the bird forcefully as quickly as she could. She dug her claws into the branch to keep from falling; she's had her share of nasty falls, and she didn't want to relive them. She climbed back down carefully and snapped the bird's neck with her jaws.

"Well done Hawkpaw and you to Snowpaw."She said before seeing a mouse she got in her hunting position to kill it.She pounced on it and killed it.She pickex it up in her mouth.She lookex at Hawkpaw and Snowpaw.They did well they were good hunters.Battle training was next though not as easy she thought.Hunting was good to everyone had to eat so hunting was valuable.

Mumblepaw smile slightly as Snowecho reassured him about his name once more, he would then turn his attention back to the marigold. He'd softly nod his head along as the cat explained the uses of marigold and cobwebs to him. "Hm.. I somewhat thought cobwebs were use to stop bleeding only, otherwise it was pretty much useless.." He'd mew in slight amazement. He'd then watch Snowecho pad away for moment, only to return with a strange long stemmed herb with fuzzy things on the top. He'd tilt his head in confusion. He let out a small 'owh' when he said the word catchweed. 'Catchweed, I'll have to remember that' He'd mew to himself. "Where are the most common places to find catchweed Snowecho?" He'd ask the tom.

Swallowpaw trotted through the rain back to camp, her head tilted downward to stop the droplets from getting into her eyes. Her thick fur was soaked through by this point and she shivered as she padded into camp. As she headed over to the freshkill pile to deposit the kills, she spotted Stormberry and Horsetail nearby. After dropping the carcasses onto the heap she walked over to the pair and hunkered down next to her mentor. She squished herself to his side so that she was almost enveloped in his thick fur. Swallowpaw shivered as a small sneeze escaped her. "Hey Stormberry? Do you know how Stripepaw is doing? By the way, hi Horsetail." She said.

Stormberry nodded as he listened to Horsetail talk about Stripepaw, and he could only hope that the apprentice's injuries weren't too serious. "I think he was just overexcited about becoming a warrior. He even asked me to do his warrior assessment for him, but I'm not his mentor." He mewed, perking up a bit at the mention of poppy seeds to help him sleep easier. "If it'll help me sleep better, I'll take anything you give me." He replied, with a soft laugh. He watched the medicine cat try to get the nettle off of his tail, only for it to end up on his chin. The deputy began to purr with delight when Horsetail congratulated him, and now that he was talking about it, he found it hard to contain his excitement and happiness. "Thank you! It's Sunstar." He meowed softly, wanting to share the news with Horsetail but not necessarily wanting the whole Clan to hear. He looked over when Swallowpaw settled next to him and was glad to see her back in the safety of camp, even if she did look pretty miserable right now. "Hi Swallowpaw! As far as I know, he's sleeping at the moment, and I don't think they know just how bad his shoulder is hurt yet." He explained, looking again at the medicine cat den.

"Sometimes young cats can just get ahead of themselves, but I'm sure he will learn out of it. I still remember when Icepaw was just starting her training, she almost gave one of the apprentices -who had a bit of a sore throat- some catmint. Luckily I caught it, but she has been much more attentive since then", Horsetail explained. His ears perked up, when Stormberry agreed to take the poppy seed, "Good, I'll bring you some later then", the medicine cat replied, nodding his head. A purr of happiness came from Horsetail, as Stormberry continued to speak, "Congratulations, have you had a chance to tell Snowecho?", the tom asked, he knew that the medicine cat and the deputy were close friends.
Looking up the dark sand colored tom saw Swallowpaw coming over to them, giving the young-she cat a nod, Horsetail returned to cleaning himself. Glancing over at the mentor and apprentice, a laugh escaped Horsetail. Stormberry's fur, had practically swallowed the young bedraggled looking she-cat whole. "We gave him poppy seed, so he's asleep right now, but when he wakes up we'll be taking a look at his shoulder", Horsetail explained. In a more hushed voice, so that only Stormberry could hear him, Horsetail added, "It does look quite bad though, so we will have to see, it might hinder his training to become a warrior." Looking across camp, the dark sand colored tom peared into the medicine cat den, he could make out movement inside, Stripepaw might be awake.

Snowecho tilted his head from side to side. Mumblepaw was right, while cobweb was essential to help stop bleeding, it did not have much other use. He waved his tail towards the hedges and low shrubs. "Catchweed is often found around this area, but anywhere with hedges and low shrubs are good." He replied, stretching a bit. "And when taking poppy seeds, don't take more than two, too many poppy seeds could kill you." He warned. He remembered when his mentor had told him this, he had been so shocked. He had not expected that herbs to heal could potentially kill a cat. "Oh, and when picking herbs, always leave enough so they can regrow."

Softpaw opened his mouth and scented the air, drinking in the scents of the forest. "A shrew, and the storm." He replied. He quickly crouched down at Sunstar's next instruction, stalking towards where the scent got stronger. He stepped quietly, and scanned the ground for twigs and leaves to avoid. He kept his tail lifted from the ground and crept closer and closer to his unsuspecting prey. He pounced before the shrew could detect him. Sadly he had a bit of bad luck and slipped as he landed. He lashed out with his claws, able to catch the shrew and make a kill. He thanked Starclan for the prey, but he knew he had messed up his chance to properly impress Sunstar. The ground being wet was no excuse for a messy kill.

Mumblepaw would give a short, simple nod when Snowecho told him where catchweed could be found. He'd give a small yelp of fear when the cat told him about the limited amount of poppy seeds one should eat. "I see.." He'd flick an ear. "I did not think a helpful herb could also be quite harmful.." He'd huff in shock. He'd then pause before standing and trotting around the place. He would make a loud 'squish' with every pawstep as he walked through the water soaked grass. His eyes would scan their surroundings top from bottom as he looked for something odd and striking so he could remember the place. It was something he was learning to do often since he could no longer smell. He'd walk back to Snowecho with a worried, somewhat confused expression. "My apologizes." He'd stutter before sitting down.

Sunstar watched as Softpaw went in for the kill, noticing the sloppy footwork. He had to give the apprentice some leeway though for the muddy ground, since it's almost impossible to make a perfect landing.
He came out of the undergrowth, purring. "Great job, that was a nice kill for one of your first times doing it. Now, what do you think you can improve on?"
The sky was getting darker, lightning getting more obnoxious as it started coming closer to camp. A sudden flash bounced off the ground next to where they were standing, and the ground caught on fire.
He pulled Softpaw out of the way, protecting him. "You know, tell me later. Let's try not to get fried on our first day of training!"

Stripepaw lifted his head up and turned to Snowecho. "Er, Snowecho? May I ask how bad I injured my shoulder?" He saw that the tom wasn't there. He looked around wondering where he went. He let out another sigh laying his head on his paws. He still hadn't let go that he hadn't landed on his feet.
It doesn’t make sense, every cat I know can land on their feet. He thought to himself.

"I had the exact same reaction." Snowecho commented with an amused purr. He watched Mumblepaw walk around and scan the area, guessing he was trying to remember where it was for future reference. "Marigold can be found near water, so here around the river is good to look for them. And if you see shrubs, or bushes, chances are that catchweed can be found under them." He informed, itching to get back to camp to check on Stripepaw. "You can come fetch me, or ask Horsetail to test if you remember the basics. It may take a while for it to sit."

Softpaw was about to reply to Sunstar's question when the lightning struck the ground close to them. It was a good thing that Sunstar pulled him out of the way, as fear had frozen him. His breath quickened, and he gasped softly for air that his lungs were struggling to take in. His eyes were wide with panic, and his training all but forgotten. The slightest movement could send the apprentice running for the safety of his nest in camp. Adrenaline pumped through his body and he was in fight or flight mode.

Mumblepaw would listen carefully, giving simple hums and nods for responses. "Hm. I should come to the river more often then." He'd turn his head to look around a bit more as he sat. "I can't wait to come here on my own when I'm a Warrior instead of having to ask Sprintstorm to come with me all the time." He'd sigh, he always wanted independence. "I guess you can say I'm starving for independence..." He'd mumble as he turned back to Snowecho when he said he could visit him for a quick test. "I'll keep that in mind." He mewed quietly at the tom, though it sounded like a whisper. "But even with a memory like mine it will take quite the while to remember this all." He'd huff silently. "You're explaining only a smidgen out of many herbs to me and I'm already getting a slight headache." He'd chuckle slightly.
