Turning to where Mumblepaw was still in the herb store gathering herbs together, Horsetail asked, "Minde bringing Softpaw the Thyme?" He did not want the apprentice to get into trouble, if Snowecho got angry at him. If the young cat was interested in becoming a medicine cat, why not let him try?
Turning to his apprentice, Horsetail quickly informed Icepaw, " Swiftstrike was hit by lightning, I have prepared a few herbs already, but we still need some Chamomile, can you grab some?"

Stripepaw licked his paw but still felt pain in his shoulder. He felt sad, cold, and pain. Then a thought came into his head. A thought that he didn't want there but seemed to belong. So he decided to ask. "Horsetail? Do you think my injury will be permanent?" He looked to the medicine cat. His eyes were full of worry and fear.

Snowpaw shrugs. "Okay." She smiles. She realizes that this hole is a bit warmer. "How have you been?" She asks. She purrs with delight to have a normal conversation despite the dumb thunderstorm. She smiles at the fellow apprentice. She licks her paw, because some mud got nineteen her pads, she hated that. She looks back up at Hawkpaw and smiles. She gives her paw another lick.

Swiftstrike held on to consignees as if it was going to break any second. His vision started tp clear up but it was still fuzzy. He wanted to get better now, not heal over time, but he knew t would take time. He was upset also because Harepaw might not be able to train as much. He wanted to train with her now, not wait till he leaped. Stupid thunderstorm, he thinks.

Mumblepaw would look over at Horsetail as he asked for him to bring some thyme to Softpaw. He'd then look inside his bundle where he packed some thyme earlier but was about to put it away. 'Looks like I'll be using this after all..' He'd murmur to himself before picking up the herb in his jaws and beginning to pad out of the den. He'd pass by Icepaw before turning to her. "You coming or not? I'm in a bit of a hurry." He'd try to explain as nicely as he could without sounding too snarky. "Plus, I need somebody to come with me."

Hawkpaw smiled glad they could have a normal conversation. "Well today was a great day until the storm." He chuckled watching the rain coming down. Some water was splashing into his paws. He licked along the scar. He always was scared that it would get infected. Hawkpaw smiled back to Snowpaw. "While we wait out this storm," He looked outside watching the storm. "Why don't we get to know each other a bit more?" He felt weird asking but he did truly want to get to know the she-cat better.

Horsetail looked over at Stripepaw, as the young cats voice reached his ears. Letting out a sigh, Horsetail gave Snowecho a nod. He'd be right here after all, when Stormberry would bring Swiftstrike in. It was definitely good that the clan had two medicine cats, it made dividing up the tasks much easier.
Walking over, Horsetail sat down next to Stripepaw. "I don't know", Horsetail answered truthfully. "I'm going to ask you a few questions and I want you to answer truthfully, got it?", the dark sand colored tom said, looking quite stern at the question. "Then I'm going to be moving your shoulder around, for some more checkups", Horsetail explained.
"Now, do you feel any tingling or numbness in your leg or shoulder?", Horsetail asked.

Stripepaw looked to Horsetail. His answer didn't make him feel any better. He looked to his shoulder. "No, I only feel pain." He meowed turning back towards Horsetail. "No." He meowed his answer final. He didn't like admitting weakness but he trusted Horsetail. The medicine cat wouldn't take advantage of his weakness.

Hosetail nodded his head, just pain? "You can walk, right? So you can move your leg, does it hurt more when you sant on it?", the sand colored tom asked. Since the apprentice could stand before, Stripepaw's shoulder probably was probably not broken. Still it might be badly sprained, in the luckiest case he could've just strained it a bit. Still , Horsetail doubted that it would be that.

Stripepaw shook his head. "No I can't walk on it. Even if I put the tiniest bit of weight I can feel pain. When I stood up I barely put any weight on it. When I walked on it it hurt very much but I ignored it. I wanted to see what all the commotion was about." He meowed feeling a little strange. Why was Horsetail asking all these questions?

"You can stay if you want, but I'm going to go check on Softpaw now." He'd mew to Icepaw before padding over to the Apprentice's Den. "Hello?" He'd try to speak clearly with the thyme in his jaws. "Softpaw, are you in here? I brought you some thyme to calm you down." He'd reassure. "I can set it down for you if you don't want to move or anything." He'd huff quietly. "I suppose you were expecting someone like Icepaw or Snowecho to come check on you instead, am I not correct?" He'd ask the Apprentice before padding inside. It was a bit dark so he couldn't see much.

Snowecho turned his head to look to Icepaw, glad that she came around just when they needed her, though displeased at the news of Softpaw. He had scented the fear scent when he entered camp, so he guessed it had come from the frightened apprentice. "Softpaw is very afraid of loud noises, can you stay with him until he calms down?" He requested, watching Mumblepaw leave. He turned to Swiftstrike's nest, looking at it for a bit, before heading back to the herb storage. His mind went to a blank, he needed some herbs to try to prevent stiffness from laying still for too long. Marigold could help, Comfrey could be used, but were more intended for shoulders. At least he got some time to think.

Softpaw was a bit frozen, so was unable to reply to Icepaw before she left. That and he did not know what had happened other than the storm scaring him so much he had fled like a kit fleeing to its mother. He perked his ears a little when he heard Mumblepaw's voice. He trembled, but nodded a little to both questions. He could simply not find his voice, it had temporarily left him as his throat closed up. He reached a paw out, patting the ground in front of him lightly to indicate to Mumblepaw where he should put the herb down.

Horsetail let out a low grumble, 'Should've tied him down', he thought. Letting out a sigh, Horsetail stood up. "I'm going to put one paw on your shoulder and move your leg around, just to check your mobility", the sand colored tom said. Placing his left paw on Stripepaw's injured shoulder, he placed the other one just above the apprentices paw. "If it hurts more than normal, say so", Horsetail instructed.
Before even moving the apprentices leg, to see how damaged it was, Horsetail noted how swollen his shoulder was. It was inflamed, not a good sign. "I'll move it now", Horsetail said, starting to slightly move Stripepaws leg back.

"Hm.. alright, alright. Here you are." "He'd mew before setting herb down to where Softpaw wanted him to. He'd step away from a moment deciding to give the tom some space. He somewhat wondered why Softpaw was so afraid. Was it the storms? Mumblepaw himself has been a bit shaken from the thunder from the storms, though he was keeping a blank face about he was actually slowly breaking down inside. "Is it alright with you, if.. if I stay? Snowecho suggested I should, but I also wanted to make sure you're alright." He'd mew.

Stripepaw looked at Horsetail in alarm. He was going to touch his shoulder? Stripepaw already didn't like this. He nodded and felt Horsetail touch his shoulder. He winced slightly as Horsetail frowned. He winced again as Horsetail moved his shoulder around. It hurt and Stripepaw didn't like the feeling. "Stop, that hurts." He whined as Horsetail moved it. It hurt when the to had just touched it. How bad was this injury?

Softpaw shuffled closer to the herb, licking it up and chewing it rather quickly. He swallowed with a soft frown at the fresh tang. He nodded at the offer, he did not want to be alone as of now. He managed to calm down his breathing, taking deep breaths like Alderpaw had repeatedly told him to do. Once he felt more calm, thanks to the breathing exercise and thyme, he felt like he could speak. "I-I'm really afraid of loud noises." He confessed, looking at his paws nervously. He was not his usual charming self when scared like this. "Thank you for bringing the thyme. I really needed it."
