Snowecho was glad to hear Mumblepaw mention that he was fascinated with herbs. He listened to the apprentice go on about wanting to teach himself to heal, finding that to be a bad idea, especially with his current lack of scent. At least the honey would help the apprentice's throat. "I'm sorry Stripepaw, but healing shoulders are really difficult." He mewed bluntly. He went to the herb storage and got some poppy seeds. Two poppy seeds. "Please take these, I'm going to feel how split it is. If it's not too bad, you can still become a warrior." He mewed. He would do his best to heal the apprentice, but if the shoulder blade was more than cracked, he worried the apprentice would not be able to become a warrior. He knew truth like this would be hard for the young cat to swallow, but lying and making him too hopeful would just make things worse.

She stopped smiling, and her tail dropped. Clearing her throat, Shrewflight shook her head.

"No, it's alright, I have to explain it sooner or later. Um," She looked up at the trees and took a breath. "My mate, Bluefeather, has been with Starclan for three moons now. It was...his choice." She took another shaky breath and frowned. "Every day is a bit of a struggle but...sometimes, it's easier than others."

She smiled softly at Foxflame, her sadness only slightly tinged in her eyes.

"It helps when I can help others. It's my purpose, I think."

She started with shock, mewing in alarm, before realizing it was only Hawkpaw; Shrewflight settled down, utterly embarrassed to have revealed such personal information in earshot of a young apprentice, but she understood they needed to know how the world worked sooner or later; she sighed and nodded.
"It's alright, Hawkpaw. Don't go telling anyone though, ok? You and Snowpaw need to keep that to yourselves for me; I'll owe you."

Shrewflight felt her heart squeeze for the young cat, his averting gaze betraying his obvious brush with death before. She felt awful; she hadn't thought someone so young would know of that just yet, but...sometimes life is hard. She nuzzled his forehead for a moment in mutual respect before backing up again.
"It's my choice to tell the Clan about my mate, Hawkpaw. His memory is all I have, and who I share it with is a very personal thing. I think you understand, though." Her gaze softened. "So, if you don't tell anyone, I'll owe you anything within reason. Ok?"

"Stripepaw noo..." He'd chuckle in fake distress. But now that he was sleep it left him alone with Snowecho. Mumblepaw would let out a simple 'hff' while staring at Snowecho. He wasn't going to give him poppy seeds too right? He'd panic. He didn't like eating medicine, especially the type that controlled his body. "I'm letting you know right now that absolutely refuse to eat any else from you Snowecho." He gave a small hiss before turning looking down at his paws. "I shouldn't be here." Stripepaw flattened his ears. "You did nothing! You let him die!" Whitefang yowled her eyes full of pain. "Whitefang, apprentices can't usually go against dogs. Cats die, you can't blame Stripepaw for it." Palenose meowed but Whitefang let out another hiss. "Let me talk to my son!" She spat making the warrior back away. She turned back to Stripepaw. "This is all your fault. From now on, you aren't my son. Your just another cat that I don't care about." Whitefang spat. She smacked Stripepaw against the face then walk off. Stripepaw slunk to the floor. His eyes shone with pain and sadness. No cat talked to him just left him alone. Stripepaw had lost his father, his brother, ad now his mother. He had lost everything that had kept him alive. Why would StarClan do this to him?

Wolfpaw - 9 Moons - Apprentice - 18/18 HP - River - Mentions: Duskflight

The fluffy tom beamed at the warrior’s praise and happily padded alongside him where they eventually ended up at the river. His paws itched in excitement when he saw the flowing water travel it’s path and the faint waves lapping at the riverbanks. He river was one of his favorite places to go, so it made him more excited to fish when he heard the amber tom explain what it took to properly catch fish. He listened quietly to Duskflight’s words, nodding slightly to show that he was listening to him. Hearing him mention the quality of his coat, Wolfpaw gave a small purr and nodded.

“Fish is one of my favorite things to eat, so I tend to eat them more than other forest prey. If it makes my coat better for swimming, then all the more reason to eat it.” He mewed cheerfully before pondering which technique he would rather learn to do first. His ears twitched at the faint rumbling up in the sky, noting the possibility of an incoming storm and decided he’d rather stick on land in case they needed to head back to camp. “I’d rather learn to fish without casting a shadow on the water and with my paws first. Despite my Riverclan bloodline, I’m sure most other cats would fish like that and if I’m fishing on a hunting patrol, I’d rather fish with them on the shore than leave them for the water itself.” The fluffy gray and white tom explained.

Willowstar - 32 Moons - Leader - 40/40 HP - Camp - Mentions: Newtpaw, Open

Willowstar was dozing off in her nest when she heard voices calling for her. Her ears twitched and while she didn’t want to get up right away, she knew that the day was ticking on and that she would have to get up at some point. She let out a quiet, yet longing sigh and pushed herself out of her soft nest, giving her pelt a quick shake before sitting back down and running her tongue through her fur to get out any tangles and to smooth out her misplaced fur. Once she deemed herself fit to head out, she got back on her feet and made her way out to the den entrance. As soon as she took a few steps outside, she noticed Newtpaw near the den entrance and slightly tilted her head, wondering what the medicine cat apprentice might need.

“Hello there, Newtpaw. Is there something I may do for you?” She asked him, slight curiosity edging into her voice. “If it’s something important, you’re welcome to come inside the den and we can discuss it in there if you would rather no one overhearing it.” The female calico offered, her tail motioning at the entrance when she thought over the possibilities that the young tom would have for coming over to talk with her.

Snowecho sat down next to Stripepaw and carefully started feeling his shoulder blade. As he felt for how broken up the shoulder blade was, he turned his ears more towards Mumblepaw to listen to him. "If you want herbs, you come to the medicine cat den." He insisted. "Unless you have training from me, or Horsetail, you could grab the wrong herb by accident. Some herbs are deadly." He warned, shifting his paws every now and then and gently moving them along Stripepaw's shoulder blade. He was annoyed at Mumblepaw's attitude, he would have to bring that up with his mentor at one point. Maybe even tell Willowstar or Sunstar. What bothered him a little, was that Mumblepaw had seemed like the illness was too much for him just a few heartbeats ago, but was now parading around like there was nothing wrong with him.

Mumblepaw would stay silent at what Snowecho said, only to burst out laughing later. "Softpaw said the same exact thing! Ha.. well, I don't give a mousetail about what Softpaw says about my experience, I'll be fine." He'd snorted bluntly with a slight hiss. "But do I have to come here?" He looked around and shuttered. "The herbs I usually get are just cobwebs, catmint, and poppy seeds. I can easily get them outside of Camp while training with Sprintstorm." He whined. "Not to mention I know.. most deadly herbs." He'd mumble. "And.. coming here scares me a bit.. you scare me.." He'd mumble the words quietly then snapped his attention back to Snowecho. "But besides all that when can I leave? I feel somewhat better, I though it wasn't the worst experience I've been through I still do not want to be here." He'd ask quietly. " I also just got told off by Stripepaw for being 'too rude', which may I add was totally not true." He'd mutter. "Okay maybe I was a bit rude.."
