Duskstar shuffled his forpaws on the snow dusted ground, letting out a sigh, a cloud came out of the male ligers mouth. The king was sitting on top of one of the largest guard pillars, surrounding the entrance of SunPrides camp. From here he could make out the large lake, white lake, Moonprides camp was just beside it. Duskstar could not make out the other prides camp though, since morning mist was still hanging in the air. Letting his long claws scrape on the bolder, Duskstar jumped down. Shaking out his thick pelt, the king dislodged the snow that had gathered on him. How long had he sat up there, the sun had just risen over the surrounding mountains. Duskstar let his mismatched, blue and green eye, sweeped over the mountains and his territory. The king had woken up in the middle of the night, at that time it had been snowing lightly, Duskstar had then jumped up to the bolder and just sat there. Stretching out his cold and stiff limbs, Duskstar headed for the large entrance of SunPrides cave.
As soon as his large paws made contact with the cave floor, the king felt warmer. He could mace out the soft snores and purres of his pride mates, as they sleeped. It would not be long, until the warriors and apprentices would wake up and head out to fulfill their duties. Sitting down outside of his and his mates den, Duskstar started to clean himself.

The white tigresses legs twitched, as she was having a nightmare. No she was not having a dream, this was real, this was her past.
'Silentcloud, back then named Snowymist, raced through the underbrush surrounding Ivyprides camp. The young warrior was panting heard, she was only 1.6 years old, it had been only three days since she had been made a warrior. Snowycloud could still remember, she had been so happy and proud sitting next to her brother, Silverdawn, and her best friend, Firestream. After the three had received their warrior names, the two males and one female had first stood guard over the camp and then lead the first hunt, the next morning.
And now? Now her pride was gone, the screams of pain and fear were still ringing around in her mind. Her brother, mother, father, and even Firestream where dead, just dead. Those things had killed them, do they even have soules? Those black beast, came jumping out in the middle of the night and killed all. She had only been able to escape, because she had not been able to sleep and had gone out in the middle of the night for a hunt. When the white tigress had come back, there was blood covering the campground. Everyone was gone, there were no bodys, just black smudges on the ground. Then a black shadow had appeared, it had the shape of a large cat, but smeled only of fire and smoke. Before the young IvyPride warrior had said a single word, the shadow had charged. Snowymist had escaped, she had ran faster then she had ever run before.
Her sides where hurting, she was going to die, she was going to die! The shadow was every where or where their multiple following her now? She did not dare look back, she needed to escape! SunPride could help, they had a strong king, they could help. Her paw caught on a root, stumbering, the white tigress fell to the ground. Looking up, she was staring into a dark shadowy face. But there was no real face, just the vague shape of a cats head and blood red eyes staring down at her. She was going to die, Snowmist screamed!'
The elders eyes opened wide, as a soundless scream tied to escape her throat. Coughing, Silentcloud pushed herself up. Breathing heard, her eyes wildly flitted over her surroundings. A sigh came out of the old white bengal tigress, as she realized that she was safely in the SunPride elders den. Sitting down next to her nest, Silentcloud started to clean herself. Why, after all these years this dream still haunted her, she did not know. The elder would not be able to sleep again after this, letting out a sigh, Silentcloud stood up. Heading out of the elders den, the old tigress stretched her old bones.

Duskstar paused mid clean, as he noticed someone behind him. Turning his head, the large liger was looking at Lightningheart. The king nodded his head in greeting to the warrior, "Good morning, Lightningheart", the liger greeted. Placing his right paw on the ground, he was just cleaning it, the king thought about the clouded leopards question. "Not quite certain", he answered, nodding past the warrior to the warriors den, the liger added, "If anything you'd need to ask Nightpath, I'm not sure if he already set up a morning hunting patrol or not." Looking passed the warrior, the king gave Silentcloud a nod. The elder has never spoken a word while here in SunPride, what did her voice sound like? Duskstar wondered.
Hearing movement behind him, Duskstar turned. A low purr came out of the ligers throat, as he saw his mate coming out of their den. "Good morning Angelstar", the large liger greeted, "Fairly good, I just came back in, so I'm just a bit cold", Duskstar added. Getting to his paws, the king moved forward and rubbed his head against his mates neck. "Did you sleep well?", Duskstar asked, leaning over he cleaned her fur of some nest material, stuck to her back. Twitching his two tails, the king gave her a smile. Taking a step back, he asked, "Are you hungry?" Nodding to the scarcely stocked fresh kill-pile from last night's hunt.

Silentcloud walked passed the apprentices den and the warriors den, without barely making a sound. The elder flinched, as she suddenly head pawsteps behind her. Turning, she saw Lightningheart coming out of the warriors den and almost smacking into Duskstar. The elder rolled her eyes, young cats, the clouded leopard had just been made a warrior not even a moon ago.
Seeing Duskstar's eyes and the king nodding towards her, the elder only gave a slight nod back. Turning, the with bengal tigress walked to the entrance of the cave. Sticking her head out into the fresh air, the elders fur stood on end. Although her thick fur would shield her from the cold, Silentcloud could still feel the change in temperature. Padding out slowly, the tigresses paws left behind large paw prints in the light dusting of snow. Walking to the edge of the outside portion of SunPrides camp, Silentcloud sat down. Letting out a sigh, a small cloud came out of the elders mouth. Her crystal clear blue eyes looked off into the distance, in thought the tigress wrapped her long striped tail around herself.

The elders ear twitched, as paw steps approached her from behind. Looking back, the white tigress spotted Angelstar coming towards her. The elder dipped her head in respect to the queen, looking up again Silentcloud listened the the queens question. The tigresses crystal eyes glazed over, she nodded her head. Opening her mouth, the elder made as if to speak, but closed it again. Turning back, the elder looked out over Sunprides territory. Letting out a sigh Silentcloud stood up. Placing her tail gently on her queens side, the elder gave had a kind smile. 'Thank you', she thought, the elder knew that the queen had a kind heart and appreciated her concern. As she headed back inside, Silentcloud passed Bluetooth. Pausing for a moment, the elder gave the female lion a nod of greeting, before heading for the cave.

Duskstar nodded her head, as Angelstar answered. He was just about to follow her over to the small pile, when Angelstar ran off. Looking after his queen, Duskstar wondered where she was going. Only then, did he notice that Sientcloud had gone outside. The king let out a sigh, he did not like the fact that an elder would just leave the protectiveness of the cave, but the male was not stupid enough to say anything about this to the elder. Although Silentcloud was mute, her gaze could be worse than any yelling he had ever received from his own mother.
While Sunstar had been calm and mellow, his queen always had a fire burning deep in her. More than once, Duskstar or his sister had managed to get on their mothers bad side. The king let out a slight chuckle at the memory, he was pulled out of it though, when his mate cam over again. Leaning down the male liger picked up a cold and stiff snow hare, it would be enough to fill their stomachs until the hunting patrol went out and brought back some prey. Laying it down beside his mate, Duskstar laid down next to it. Waiting for his mate to eat, the liger asked, "Is everything alright with Silentcloud, she seems.... well... a bit more closed up then usual."

A small growl/purr came from the king in response to his mates answer, tapping Angelstar on the shoulder with his tail he said, "Silentcloud does not speak at all, she has not spoken a single word since she came to Sunpride and you know that." Looking down at the rabbit, the king pushed it closer to his mate. Nuzzling her side, the king added, "I know you want to understand and help her, but.... sometimes you can not help everyone." Giving her a smile, Duskstar added, "That does not mean that you should stop trying though. Now, let's start eating before the rest of the pride wares up and we have to do our duties."
