Duskstar looked after the patrol, lead by Angelfur. Twitching her tails as the patrol went out, the king hoped that there would be no problem with MoonPride. The other pride always seemed to be a bit too eager, to start something with Sunpride. The king looked over, as Earthpaw bounded over. The liger chuckled at the young apprentices enthusiasm, "We'll be going out and hunt for a bit, I want to see what you have already learned", the king told the young male. Standing up, Duskstar waved his tails for the apprentice to follow him. Stopping for a moment, the king turned around to Riversong. "Riversong!", the Sunpride king called to get the Broodmothers attention. "When Nightpath wakes up, can you let him know that I am out with Earthpaw. Also let him know to stay in camp for now, until I'm back. He can send out some patrols, when more warriors and apprentices wake up", Duskstar directed. Letting out a sigh, he had said most of this in a single breath, Duskstar turned to Earthpaw. "Ready?", he asked, pointing with his twin tails to the entrance of the camp.

Following the tigress's claw as it formed a single word in the snowy dirt, Shadepetal adjusted his posture slightly as he thought. Tilting his head, honestly perplexed at the she-cat before him, the tom worked his jaw briefly before he spoke. "What scared you? Is it here?" realising he had probably asked something the elder couldn't answer by writing on the ground, he flicked his tail irritably. Taking a breath, he looked up at Silentcloud. "Why can't you tell us? If something bad happened, we need to be prepared." the healer didn't expect her to reply, but he wanted her to know that the information she withheld could help them immensely.

Etching a small sun into the earth before him without thinking, he gazed down at it for a moment. "I'm sorry. Don't worry about it. I just hope that one day you can feel safe enough to tell me what happened." he murmured, flicking an ear worriedly.

A chill trailed eerily up the tom's spine, prompting him to glance over his shoulder, an act he acknowledged was rather paranoid. However, all rational thoughts soon dissipated when his bright gaze met burning crimson orbs. Freezing, fur on end, Glowpaw scrambled back, though didn't flee. Instead, he stared back, eyes wide and rounded. His breathing increased, heart feeling as if it would thump out of his chest, so loud he thought the whole forest would hear it beating with the chaos of a stampede. With each rapid, gasping breath, the stench of smoke clogged his lungs, fiery and reeking of danger. Terror encased the young tom, gluing him to the spot. All he could do was stare. Stare back at this... thing. It growled, low and menacing, moving forwards until the shadows were sucked away from its cranium somewhat. A vaguely feline shape formed as Glowpaw watched on in stunned silence, rounded audits flattened to his skull. Foul-smelling darkness exhaled from its jaws, before the shadow creature disappeared, just as abruptly as it had come.

The small pumapard sat still for a few moments, trying to tell if it was truly gone. Smoothing his ruffled pelt, he cautiously got to all four of his paws. Pins and needles jabbed his limbs as he shook them out, gaze still darting about nervously. Grabbing his lemming from where it had subconsciously fallen from his mouth, unwilling to come back with nothing, despite what he had just witnessed, he cast one wary look around him, before racing off. "Angelfur! Bluetooth! Help!" he screeched around the bundle of fur in his mouth, suddenly feeling an inkling of regret for deciding to bring his catch. He only hoped they would at least hear his voice and sense the panic in it.

After a while, longer than the apprentice would have hoped, Angelfur skidded to a halt before him. She was panting, making it clear that they had wandered much father apart than they should have. Trembling was beginning to ripple through his tiny body, shock starting to squeeze his throat as tears collected in his violet eyes. Gazing up at Angelfur, he visibly jumped as Lightningheart, and then Bluetooth, appeared in the clearing too, dropping his fresh-kill. The tom soon found himself relaxing slightly, the presence of three warriors somewhat comforting.

Inhaling shakily, he cleared his throat. "We need to get back to camp." he squeaked out, voice high-pitched with fear. Claws curling into the dirt, Glowpaw looked around nervously. "We need to hurry, it might come back!" the tom's breathing quickly increased again, violent shudders wracking his frame. Casting one last wild glance at the others, he raced off, prey forgotten in his haste. The apprentice pushed himself as hard as he could, gasping for breath as he sprinted. He didn't wait for the others, having no doubt they would catch up to his short strides quickly.

Walking out of the camp, the king's eyes adjusted to the bright sunlight outside. Walking past the large guard boulders, hiding the cave entrance from view, the large liger stopped at the edge of the cluster of boulders. Looking behind him, the king waited for Earthpaw to join him. His tails swished back and forth, his forked tail was moving over the ground. There was barely any snow left on the ground around the camp entrance. The king let out a sigh, it was definitely good that it was the warm season now.
The mountains was mostly covered in snow, the only season that this changed was during summer. Still, the weather near and on the mountains was always a bit colder than the weather near the lake.

Silentcloud shook her head in response to the healers first question, her eyes were soft and sad. At Shadepetals next words, the elder looked up into his eyes. 'Was the pride in danger? Had there really been monster back then? Or was it maybe just her young mind playing tricks on her?' Silentcloud wondered. Sitting down, the white tigress wrapped her tail around her large paws. Even though she was quite large, in that moment she felt as small and weak as a cub. The elder glanced up and gave Shadepetal a kind, yet sad smile. 'I hope that I can talk again, one day.... one day', the elder thought hopefully. Reaching forward, the elder gave Shadepetal a nudge, 'Thank you'.
Getting to her paws again, she reached down and grabbed the poppy seeds gingerly. Even though she felt sleepy, there was no reason for her to eat the seeds without some prey. Nearing the fresh-kill pile, the elder Spottedstar eating a bit away from the pile. Grabbing a small bird from the pile, the elder walked over to Spottedstar. Stopping in front of the queen, Silentcloud nodded to the spot beside the piebald lioness. She was asking, if she could lay down beside the queen to eat her prey.

A bit of tension drained from the healer's shoulders at Silentcloud's response. So they weren't in any immediate danger. Still, his pelt prickled with unease, watching the well-built elder walk away with her poppy seeds to eat. However, Shadepetal leapt to his paws, shock written all over his features as Angelfur burst into camp. Glowpaw arrived moments later, clearly dazed. The leopon bounded over and began nosing at the apprentice worriedly. "Breathe Glowpaw, sit down." he insisted, weaving anxiously around the small feline. Tail tip twitching, he hurried off into the healer's den, retrieving a stem of thyme.

When he returned to Glowpaw's side, it was evident he was going into shock. His bright violet optics were glazed over and he was trembling in his crouched position in the camp. Shadepetal dropped down beside him, nudging the delicate, green-leaved plant closer. After a few moments, the pumapard chewed up the sticky herb, grimacing only slightly. The healer sat up, draping his tail comfortingly over the apprentice's shoulders. "Give him a moment." the tom instructed commandingly, gaze worried as he glanced back down at the smaller tom, relaxing when his shivering slowly subsided and he was able to straighten up and look around. "I need to talk to Duskstar!" he trilled urgently, making the healer stand.
"I'll fetch him." Shadepetal offered, to which Glowpaw dipped his head gratefully as the leopon darted out of camp. Luckily, their leader was not far off, and he trotted up to him quickly, seeing Angelfur was already there. "Duskstar, there's an emergency. Come back with us to camp, quickly, Glowpaw needs to speak with you." he beckoned, eyes dark with concern.
