Duskstar had been looked back towards the camp, waiting on Earthpaw to join him, when his sensitive ear picked up the sounds of hurried paw steps. The large ligers head snapped to the cats, who were rushing back to camp. The king got to his paws, was Moonpride attacking? Duskstar dug his claws into the ground under paw, as he saw Shadepetal rushing towards him. 'Oh Starpride, let there be none hurt', the king thought.
The king briskly nodded his head, to the healers words. Turning to Earthpaw, the king gave him an apologetic glance. Then waving his twin tails, the king told the apprentice to follow. As he got up to leave, the king noticed his mate had come out of the cave. She must've heard the commotion, "I don't know yet", the king answered. Turning, Duskstar headed for the patrol. As they neared Glowpaw, who seemed scared out of his pelt, and the others who had gone out on patrol, Angelfur came up to the king. Something in MoonPride? Maybe the apprentice had just seen a Moonpride warrior watching him? Reaching the apprentices side, Duskstar lightly placed his tails around the young toms shoulders. In a soft voice, the king asked, "What happened?"

Forcing the intensity of his breathing to ease, as he was beginning to feel dizzy, Glowpaw startled as Duskstar sat down beside him, double tails resting over his body. The dwarf apprentice tilted his head back in order to see his king. "I-I..." the tom gulped, mouth dry. "I saw a monster." he whimpered, shifting his paws. "It could have been just a shadow or my imagination I'm not sure but I think it had scary red eyes and it wanted to eat me maybe I don't know but it smelt really bad and made my fur stand on end and it seemed dangerous and I'm really really scared." he rambled in a rush, scarcely able to take a breath. Once he had finished, the tom was practically wheezing, and inhaled deeply a few times to refill his aching lungs. "It looked right at me, then it growled and disappeared. I ran so fast." he added, twitching his ears back. Looking over his shoulder, which he seemed to be making a habit of, he held back a shudder.

After a few moments of stunned silence, Shadepetal cleared his throat and stepped forward, beginning to speak, "Maybe it was an evil omen? Duskstar, I should visit StarPride to ask for guidance." the healer meowed softly, pastel gaze shadowed.

Duskstar patiently listened to the apprentice, as Glowpaw started to explain what had scared him so much. The king could feel everybody's eyes on him, the king's eyes cast down. That did not sound like a normal cat, it could still be a Moonpride cat, just having a laugh in scaring the apprentice out of his fur. Still, this sounded too strange. A dark thought came into the king's mind, was it... maybe? Seeing a white pelt out of the corner of his eyes, Duskstar looked up. He was staring at Silentcloud, who had just come out too see what was going on. The king's eyes focused on the elders, she had also heard what Glowpaw had told the rest of the pride. The elder seemed restless, shifting her weight from paw to paw. 'The shadows'.
Shortly after Silentcloud had joined Sunpride, Sunstar and- then healer- Riverpelt had been able to get some information out of the young Ivypride warrior. Silentcloud had described strange cat like, looking shadowy things attacking her. She had believed that it was these 'monsters' that had killed Ivypride. Sunstar had told Duskstar this, shortly before the previous king had died. No one, besides him and Silentcloud, knew of these things, not even Shadepetal.
The large king almost shrank together, when Shadepelt asked if he should contact Starpride. Blinking his mismatched eyes, the king brock eyes contact with the elder. Looking to the rest of the cats who had gone out on patrol, Duskstar asked, "Did anybody else see this thing or something else that was strange?" Looking to Shadepetal, the king let out a sigh and got to his paws, "I think we should both", the king said. It was rare for a king to want to contact Starpride, but this- if it really was what he thought the apprentice had seen- Duskstar need to also speak with Starpride.

Duskstar turned his head, as Bluetooth started to speak. A white crow? Although the king doubted that the 'black monster' that Glowpaw had seen was an omen from Starpride, this white crow might be. The king lifted his tail off Glowpaws shoulder and stepped over to where the blue lioness was standing, the liger inspected the necklace. It was definitely seemed man made, Duskstar reached out with his paw and touched the blue stone. At the touch of is paw, the stone was crossed by a pulsing light. The king quickly retracted his paw.
"Spottedstar", the king said, turning around to his mate. "Could you take this for now? Until we know what to do with it", Duskstar asked. It was not that he did not trust Bluetooth to keep it save, but something about this necklace was bothering him. Noticing Dapplepaw out of the corner of his eye, the apprentice had snuck his way to stand beside his mentor, the king turned to him. "Dapplepaw, can you take Glowpaw to the healers den?", Duskstar nodded his head to Shadepetal, as he he had finished speaking. He trusted that the experienced healer, would tell his apprentice what to do. Turning to the rest of his gathered pride mates, the king searched for Nightpath. The deputy was nowhere in sight, the king hoped that he was alright. "While Shadepetal and I are sharing with Starpride, Spottedstar will be incharge", the king informed the pride. Stepping over, her gave his mate a loving nudge. "I want you to organise a hunting and border patrol. Make sure to keep the apprentices busy, if you don't they'll tare the camp appart", the king andvised his queen, it was rare for him to put Spottedstar solely in charge, but he knew that she could handle it. "I know you can do this", Duskstar said, giving the lioness a lick behind the ear. Turning around to the rest of his pride, Duskstar said, in a loud and comaning voice, "That's enough standing around, everyone get back to your duties."

The elder sat at the fringes of the gathered cats, even though she was so big, the tigress wanted to hid from view. Her mind had gone blank, those things, those monsters.... they were still around. The elders shoulders sank, Silentcloud had always hoped that it had been nothing more than a nightmare or her young mind playing a trick on her. The elders cristal eyes, looked up at Duskstar. She could read the king's eyes, Sunstar had informed the liger of her past and of the things that she had seen. Duskstar knew that it might be the things that wiped out Ivypride. Silentclouds legs suddenly went weak, on unsteady paws, the elder staggered to her den. Reaching the elders den, the white tigress hobbled inside. At her nest, the old female fell into it. She was shaking, this had to be a lie, it just had to be.
