We are aware of some issues that the community has been voicing with the raffle lioness system, with some complaints including it being difficult to pass on raffle-exclusive traits, raffle lionesses going to inactive accounts, and so on. We have had our own discussion among the developers and would now like to present a discussion where the community can provide feedback on the ideas we have outlined below regarding how the system can be modified, and possibly even give their own ideas if they aren't already covered.

We will be closely monitoring this topic to record feedback, which we will then use for an upcoming site poll.


New Features Being Implemented

We have some features that will be added regardless of feedback within a future update:

* Adjusting the raffle lioness system so that only players who have been active in the last two days (so Wednesdays onward) will have a chance to win when the raffle lioness is pulled
* Sending an email notification to the player who won the weekly raffle lioness


New Features We're Considering/Discussing

These are features we have had ideas for, or have found in the Game Development forums, and would like to see which of the following would be most preferred.

** 1. Storing raffle lioness designs and releasing them slowly through explore.
Essentially, this would mean creating multiple copies of the same raffle lioness to be slow-dripped into the game through the claiming system. They would work as chased lionesses, so only kings with Average impression or higher could find them. This would likely come with a failsafe so that if the lioness fails to be claimed, she goes back into the chased pool so another player has a chance to claim her. All raffle lionesses are made with the Nurturing (Good) personality, so raffle lionesses released through the claiming system would display the Good pose.

The first week, Raffle Lioness 1 is pulled and sent to the winner, and Raffle Lioness 2 is put up to be impressed. The second week, Raffle Lioness 2 is pulled and sent to the winner, Raffle Lioness 3 is put up to be impressed, and a clone of Raffle Lioness 1 is put into the chased lioness pool in explore. The third week, Raffle Lioness 3 is pulled and sent to the winner, Raffle Lioness 4 is put up to be impressed, and clones of Raffle Lionesses 1 and 2 are put into the chased pool in explore. This repeats up to a maximum of 9 clones, making for 10 total lionesses with the same design.

** 2. Releasing an identical replica raffle stud alongside a raffle lioness.
The stud would have the exact same traits as the raffle lioness, but rather than being delivered to a winner's territory, a select amount of players (between 20-50) would win the ability to breed with him. This would work similarly to August's event studs in that items could not be used on the stud for breeding. We also considered, if implementing replica studs, to allow all players to enter for a chance to win a stud breeding, but lock weekly raffle lionesses so that only accounts that have 365 or more total rollovers (not consecutive) would be eligible to try and impress her.


** 3. Implementing raffle studs in general.
An alternative to releasing an identical replica raffle stud would be releasing a raffle stud alongside a raffle lioness who may share similar traits, e.g. if a raffle lioness is releasing a brand new eye colour, the raffle stud that week would have that eye colour as well, or if she is releasing a brand new raffle marking, the raffle stud that week would have that marking as well (either in the same slot, or a different slot). Breedings to this stud would also be limited to 20-50 players weekly, and items would not be allowed. This would also come with all players being able to enter for a chance to win a stud breeding, but locking weekly raffle lionesses so that only accounts that have 365 or more total rollovers (not consecutive) would be eligible to try and impress her.


** 4. Releasing more than one raffle lioness per week.
This would either be multiple identical copies of the same raffle lioness, or up to 3 different raffle lionesses at once who would share some of the same traits, but not be identical.


** 5. Releasing recreated copies of previous raffle lionesses who are on banned/closed accounts.
This would be making a replica of the raffle lioness to raffle off through the official raffle system. The original raffle lioness would stay on the same account. This is specifically only for permanently suspended accounts, and accounts that have been closed—not inactive accounts that are not suspended/closed.


** 6. Allow the weekly raffle lioness to be impressed daily instead of once weekly for higher chances of winning, therefore rewarding more active players.
The weekly raffle lioness would still be available for a full week as usual, but daily impression attempts will add up and give a greater chance at winning her as compared to only one attempt per week (how it currently works).


** 7. Add a second raffle lioness for players who have rolled over at least 365 times in total (not consecutively), with potentially more unique traits than a standard Dreamboat raffle lioness.
Players who have rolled over 365 or more times would have the ability to impress both the standard Dreamboat raffle lioness, as well as a second raffle lioness that is only available to accounts with 365+ total rollovers.





We may mix-and-match some of the options, but we will be polling the community on these options regardless.

I absolutely ADORE the raffle stud idea!!! And the Chased NCL idea too! The studs are my favorite part of August because it’s SO rewarding when you get a base pass or exclusive markings! And the idea of thinking it’s just gonna be a normal NCL but instead it’s a RLC/has RLC traits sounds amazing to me☺️☺️

My 2 cents is that releasing BO raffle studs would essentially limit the market for actual players who want to stud out their lions and have spent their time breeding unique marked kings. Had a cool stud you used to sell out every week? Not anymore! You've been outcompeted by an NPC.

There's a deeper issue here though which is regulation of certain slots and markings. Players generally tend to self regulate when it comes to the lions they produce and sell. It's in the best interests of the owners of rare marked/based kings to keep the amount of "clones" low so they retain their value. This is usually done by restricting studs or keeping them private altogether and only selling cubs that have 1 or 2 traits. I do this myself with my main account so the market doesn't become oversaturated.

Whilst restricting the number of players who can stud to these Raffle lions is a good one, I don't think it will be effective at stopping the rapid devaluation of rare slots. If we have 40 players who stud and their lionesses all have 2 cubs each (unlikely, I know, but it's a happy medium) you now have potentially 80 lions with these exclusive traits.

I'm so happy to see discussion about changing the raffle lioness system!

The only suggestion I can't get behind is the first one "* Adjusting the raffle lioness system so that only players who have been active in the last two days (so Wednesdays onward) will have a chance to win when the raffle lioness is pulled" It's unfair to have players pay to impress the lioness, and then not have a chance if they didn't roll later that week.

I'm very interested in the raffle studs!! I think Raffle studs would be super fun and help spread new traits around. I hope it would be harder to track down who has used raffle studs, as I know players who win the lioness get a lot of attention.

Love almost all of these suggestions, just would like to maybe add a feature to any raffle studs!
There would still be 20-50 breeding winners, but one of those lucky winners will automatically upon conception of the cub(s) breed a CLONE of the stud. Obviously you can make changes to the suggestion since you’re the devs and all, but yeah!

As a player who has been in the game since 2013, and has seen how people perceive the RL as something bigger than their life (threats to the winner and threats to their family, complaints about the fact that you don’t have the right to change the RL, they should be unchanged, if the owner decided to change the RL base - this is the end of the world, and so on), then I support all ideas for distributing RL, because their “exclusivity” is no longer exists with the appearance of Crunchy Worm, Ochre Powder, and other items, even if the features of the RL are available to everyone, then this won't really change anything (almost), those who have the resources and understanding of how to get benefits more efficiently will immediately begin to act, as was the case when new traits appeared (when the price for such a feature varied from 100 GB or more, after a couple of days the price dropped significantly, it has always been and will be so, and this is unchanged, so it depends on your preparation and luck)
For those who are against private RL and new ideas:
Let the winners themselves decide what will happen to their lions, as well as those who got the opportunity to acquire new features of the RL (clone RL/NRLC in explore, raffle studs, and so on), if previously 1000 accounts competed for 1 RL, now there are from 6500-8500 of them that it’s time to change something...

My opinion on the fact that RL will have too many clones/lose value (reasons why I support the first idea):
Those who keep RL privately for years will also not lose anything, given that they didn't plan to sell them, and as you know, even if there are few clones of some RL, their value will still fall, because players lose interest in it after a while or after the appearance of new traits in other RLs.
Some RLs won't lose their value, even with a large number of clones, because many playes collect clones and RLs and can purchase them for a high price (for example, recently, an old RL (8-13 years?) with a BO base and with clones was bought for 1k GB, but the RL with combo base & without clones, with all the heats, was bought for 1.5k GB, or my real example: I bought an old clone with 1 natural heat for items whose price was equal to 200-250 GB, when the same clones with a lower gen and younger were sold for 100 GB), so the price is different for everyone, you just need to be able to do sales/marketing to reach the majority of players, or wait for the right moment. The price falls and rises, and this happens all the time.
Some players spent 1k GB for the opportunity to "get a clone" (and not the clone itself, only heat) due to the fact that one RL was talked about everywhere because of the same advertising, or because of the spirit of competition at auctions when you plan not to spend a lot amount of currency for RL, but due to the fact that you are competing with other players to get heat/clone, you spend a lot more than planned. In most cases, you need to rely on your abilities or luck in such situations.

If many people care about the value of RL, and not their “beauty”:
The first idea (1) will work ideally with those RL that existed back in 2013 (not necessarily the exact appearance, but their traits, given that the data about them isn't particularly known) until 2021, for example, after 3 years you can add RL/nrlcs from 2022-2024 in explore and so on, OR
Another option:
For example, for some period of time it's possible to get RL/nrlcs with 8-14 traits from 2018-2020 (and not only, if possible), and after this opportunity won't happen (like the boost of Jaglions or Tigons) because after that, instead of RL, NCL with their traits will begin to appear (3/15 traits or more?)

This, of course (1st idea), will be unpleasant for those who are working on revival project of the RL, but if you look at it from the other side, it will make everything much easier.
I understand that many have spent a lot of time and money, but what is the point of suffering with this further? After all, no one is happy about how many resources are spent on it, if anyone gets joy after achieving the goal of their project, then it won't go anywhere, it will be the same joyful memory as before, but as you know, it doesn't always pay off (after all, more often what happens is that you spend more on revival project of the RL than you get from its sale, it all depends on luck, who is luckier and who isn't )

I’m glad the devs are listening to the community, but to be frank 1-3 are absolutely garbage suggestions. RL’s shouldn’t be easier to get, thats not what people are complaining about, they are complaining about the users who get them. I hate 1-3 but 1 is a god awful suggestion and whoever suggested it hasn’t played the game in a long time. People are going to farm the shit out of ncl encounters just to get the rl. The raffle stud would only work if it was 1-5 people (pass rates), and why would anyone want the chance to stud with a chance of failing then a chance to literally get a extremely rare lioness? Ok no being rude actual opinions

4 - This idea is good, but I think only it should be 2 and non identical (which has already been proposed. I think keeping it as 1 is better though, the anger isn’t because they’re rare its because they are being given to people who do ‘t play the game


5 - I really like this idea, but one caveat - If the lion has been bred or not. If the marks are already in the game, even if it’s just one cub, it shouldn’t be bred. But this idea is genius

6 - … I have mixed feelings on this one. While it’s good to inspire players to play more, I feel like this could alienate newer players if this costs sb (which it shouldn’t, if it’s just free daily with the 50 sb entry free) If it’s free, I think this is a pretty good suggestion and would like it added.

7. Mixed feelings. It could be added, but it’s not players fault if they haven’t played the game for a year (ik its not consecutive). But I actually think it was consecutive, it would make more sense. What if, instead of 365, it was somewhere around 50-180 consecutive days, rewarding players who constantly play? I don’t know if this is a good suggestion, or would be unfeasable since I don’t know how many people play this long consecutively (My streak personally is somewhere around 50-60), but I think it would be cool to reward players who play for long stretches with a rare lion who pops up every few months to dedicated players.
But the original suggestion would be fine to add.

Yes, this is what the community has been asking for! But I think it should be raised to 5 days. If paired with 0.2 I think it would work well in a players favor

Obvious yes. Who would ever say no to this?


Would love to see any responses. I know this might come off negative but I really want lioden to improve.

I’m not sure if I’m apart of the 365+ ROs group, I’ve played for a little over two years but took a few large breaks. If I had to guess I’m semi close to being apart of that group. Do with that info as you wish.

#1 While I like this idea After reading other people’s thoughts I now hate this idea! I also think it would make the RL less special. If this were to happen I’d probably want there to be only 3 or 4 copies instead of 9, and make it so only Dreamboats could find them.


#2 & 3 I like the idea of a raffle stud! I think my only concerns would be time limit for studding and winning a studding plus the lioness in the same week. I think you should have to stud to the male within a week or you lose the chance. Also I think that if you win the RL you should be taken out of the drawing pool for that weeks RS (Raffle Stud).


#5 Yes! Please give them a chance to actually be loved and bred


#4, 6, & 7 I love the idea of an extra special RL, maybe it could be set up something like this:
There is a RL and a RS who are identical. For the RS there are multiple winners, and for the RL there is still only one winner but players have the chance to impress her each day to boost their chances.
On top of the RL and RS there is a SRL (Special Raffle Lioness), that is only for players who have 365 or more ROs. Players would only have one chance to impress the SRL instead of multiple chances like with the RL. Players only get to win once per week, the roll order could go like this;
Special Raffle Lioness > Raffle Lioness > Raffle Stud


To sum everything up: I hate 1. But I do like 3, 5, 6, and 7.

Another lil suggestion I just though of- perhaps if there are multiple RLs, one can only be claimed with majority good karma, one only bad, or one at day one at night, etc! Just some outside factors to make things fun maybe

I think that releasing rls as chasers is such a fun idea! However im not so on board with releasing copies, I can only imagine that it would be frustrating for the person who wins the initial lioness.
You finally win an rl after however long of hoping and praying, only to not long after, have someone catch a copy of her in explore and start selling cubs W her marks or clones for very cheap to make some quick geebs, bringing down the value of the whole line drastically

To combat this I think releasing separate chased would be the best idea, perhaps less frequently, every second week or so instead of weekly. That way everyone still has a chance to find an rl, without imposing on the raffle winners!

I also really like idea 7, the second rl for longer time players, as well as 4 and 5. My only concern with 5 is it could frustrated some of the rl revival breeders who have been working on bringing back certain rls for a long time, only to have it rereleased. And for no. 4 I think releasing multiple variants or entirely separate rls is a better idea than 3 of the same, for the same reason as my thoughts on the chaseds

IMO, the fundamental issue of RLs as they currently are is that they're split between two jobs:
1. the job of being a nice pretty lioness
2. the job of spreading new traits to the massive playerbase
I think the ideal suggestion would allow these two goals to be seperated so both can be achieved.

As for these suggestions:
I strongly, strongly dislike suggestion #1. Very pay to play and FOMO-enducing idea. While theoretically a nice money sink, I think that it will both cause ridiculous amounts of pressure to explore constantly/buy energy boosts and also potentially devalue RLs.
While I care more about the traits from RLs spreading compared to maintaining value for people who clone them, in this market where everything that used to be valuable is slowly becoming worthless, and people are struggling to make money, I want to hang onto anything thats got value right now.
I also strongly dislike #6 and adjusting the system to require being active in the last 2 days as well. Pressuring, FOMO enducing idea. Rolling over once a week is already fair to players who play at their own pace.

#2 and #3 are my favorites here. I think having a RL and Raffle Stud both up at once will solve the problem nicely. The RL can be rolled off, appreciated and cloned by the winner, hopefully without the terrifying pressure that comes from having to spread new traits to the whole site. This accomplishes the "pretty lioness a lucky player wins" goal nicely, while RS can provide BO fiends like myself the new traits we're excited to put on our projects.
Both suggestions sound like they won't do anything to devalue RLs and cloning of them.
Additionally, I also am a fan of the 365 rollover requirement to enter for the RL. Lioden is a slow paced game that requires patience and I think rewarding players for that is a good idea.

I don't know if #4 or #7 will do anything substantial enough to fix the problems. Rewarding players for sticking with the game is something I like as I've previously said, but it still means that the problem of the RL being stuck between her two jobs is still present and 2-3 inactive players could still roll both, which leads to...
#5 should just be implemented in general. Perma-suspended players can't come back, it's such a bummer than we can just lose traits for the foreseeable future in that way. Email notifications would be great too.

Additional raffle studs being added seems like the ideal solution! The RL can still be rolled by a lucky player and treasured, while BO fiends (like me) can get access to the new traits without having to worry about contacting a player than might immediately go inactive or just decide to not spread the new traits (which sucks!).
