The myths of the dragon Riders have always been with us.
Now, they are returning, but at a cost.
Other venerable foes are awakening, and the Riders are the land's only hope.
Will you join us in the ranks of the Riders?

*

For anyone who posted on the old thread and did not see it: I made a new thread because a lot of people on the old one will no longer be joining us. I wanted to make it cleaner, without all the extra chatter from those not in this anymore, and have a separate character thread.

Our members are Flying Changes, Charlemange, Celebi, and Senna541(?).
No new forums may be submitted as of now. May possibly accept more members, however only if the plot needs more characters to progress.

WOOOO a poorly drawn map by me somewhat telling where everything is and with random cities and such. In case anyone was interested here's the minecraft map I based it off of.

(I'm so sorry guys school just got caught up and when I had time I had no inspiration. D:)

Thelduin

He nodded, and made his way after Sitara and Mika. In all honesty, it had been a while since he had been here. Even the entrance was different than it had been before, meaning that the labyrinth of hallways and vast rooms had to be different in some way as well. He couldn't help but smile a bit, knowing the riders had to have done that themselves. They were getting stronger, strong enough that they could chance this ancient icy glacier.

"Ten," He said. Give or take two or three The number had definitely grown since he had last been here; there had only been about five or six then. Ten was a good number. It was large enough that they'd be able to defend themselves and the glacier against anything, but small enough to remain just under the radar. Of course, that wasn't the total number of riders out there. Plenty of solitary riders scattered the land, he just wished they'd make their way up here. At least Mika had.

It was a bit difficult to navigate through the misshapen halls, but he managed to keep up with Sitara and Mika all right. He really hadn't been down this area in a while, and there were new passageways since his last visit. Although, he wasn't too worried about getting lost in them.

He watched as Sitara knocked on an icy door. Even though he couldn't see the human inside, the mind wasn't one that he recognized. He could read her excitement as she stood to shove the icy door aside.

Sundari

She hadn't really been paying all that much attention when someone had knocked on her door. Her room was in such desperate need of decoration and furniture, she had been too deep in her thoughts about what Ulalie would be able to carry back from the small town, and what she wouldn't be able to.

But, the knock on the door slowly put a smile on her face. There was someone who wanted to see her, meet the new rider. Even if it was just Sitara again, she'd be happy to see someone. Although the glacier was immensely large, not very many riders populated it. In all, there were about twenty people here, counting their dragons. It was a very small population for such a large living space.

As she opened the door, Sundari smiled up at Sitara and two new people. They were all elves, she noticed, so they were all much taller than her small figure. "Hi Sitara,' She said, curious as to who the two new people were.

Ulalie

It had been hard for her to even tell there were other dragons in the area until Borealis and some other dragon arrived on the ledge in front of her. It was just too large, and although the noise did echo off of the ice, it wasn't audible until they were already in front of her. Ulalie gave a smile, and moved back on the ledge to let them land. Space certainly wasn't an issue, and the ice was definitely thick enough to hold even all three of their weights combined.

She observed Borealis for a moment, and then her eyes fell on his companion. From what she knew, a dragon had either four limbs like her, or six like Borealis and most of the others here. While this new dragon had four, they were opposite of what she had. Ulalie had a set of forearms, her wings, and a set of hind limbs. This dragon had two sets of forearms, wings and arms, and no hind limbs. Curious, she tilted her head at the strange new dragon, wondering if there were more of her species elsewhere.

((It's good to have you back, Fly :3 ))

~Sitara~

The blond girl answered her knock cheerfully, but Sitara did not return her smile. She stood aside so Sundari could see the new arrivals.

"I came to introduce you. This," she gestured to Mikaviel, "Is our newest member. I encountered him and Thelduin the other night. Thelduin is our leader, you treat him with respect." Sitara finished, not sure what else to say. She hoped the three would begin to converse so she could slip away.

~Borealis~

Boreas swung his head from Ulalie to gesture at Zyla.

"Ulalie, this is Zyla. Sitara and I encountered her and her Rider the other night. They've come to join our ranks. Zyla, this is Ulalie. She and her Rider joined us just a short time ago as well." Boreas glanced from one dragoness to the other, hoping they would get friendly with each other. Some people, and dragons, just had an immediate dislike for others, even if there was no grounds for it. He had seen it happen a few times before, so he was always weary during first introductions.

{I'm in the same boat, school is kicking my buns >__> neither of you would happen to be good at trig or pre-cal, would you? XD }

Mika
The place was drafty, to say the least, but the sparkling beauty of the glacier's rooms more than made up for the chill. Mika couldn't stop looking all around him at the glossy blue walls and noticed how the light illuminated them. He followed Sitara through the corridors until they reached the living quarters. He was a little alarmed at having to make his own door, but having a dragon to help him haul in supplies made the task a bit less daunting. He figured he'd just hang a makeshift curtain over the entrance for the time being.
When they reached the other rider’s room, he was surprised to see a sunny human girl answer Sitara’s knock. “Hey there,” he said with a wink and a small bow. “I’m Mikaviel.”

Zyla
First impressions, don’t screw it up, Zyla reminded herself. She wasn’t used to so much socialization, but in the name of decorum she decided to present herself as if she had done it her whole life. Although not acclimated to being around anyone besides her rider, she did find it intriguing to know there were more of her kind. Maybe she could get used to this whole communal living situation…though she would prefer to be with Mika at night.“It is a pleasure,” the white dragoness said to Ulalie. “Your name is very nice.”

(God school is killing me and I never have inspiration to write anymore. D: I am so sorry guys. And gosh, I wish I were good at math. xD I can help you in English and science but in math you're probably better off without my help.)

Sundari

At the sight of the two new elves, she gave a smile. It seemed everyone here was an elf, or at least a lot of them were. But then again, there really weren't very many people here. Maybe there were other human riders who just hadn't joined their ranks yet. The two elves were both definitely handsome -- the taller of the two held a reserved look, while the other looked to be a bit more rugged and curious. He certainly was charming, that was for sure, and the small wink and bow only added to his interesting character.

"Mikaviel," She said with a small nod of her head. Born and raised in a small village, she had never been one for formal introductions. Even if she wanted to curtsy, she wasn't exactly wearing a dress. "I'm Sundari. And Thelduin," She said, turning to the other elf with a curiosity gleaming in her eyes. Giving a small bow, she continued, "It's a pleasure to meet you both."

Ulalie

"Zyla," Ulalie stated, testing out the newcomer's name. She was a curious one, with a set of wings and forearms, but a long, snake-like body without hind limbs. Having been alone most of her life, she hadn't thought dragons could look like that. But then again, she had assumed all dragons had a set of wings and hindlegs with no forearms, like her. The six-limbed dragons like Borealis were curious to her even. Maybe there were plenty of others like Zyla out there, she just hadn't seen any others yet.

"It's very nice to meet you, Zyla" She gave a warm smile, looking at her and Borealis.

{Yaaaay! :D Internet is so important haha, did moving go well? I'll post since I never did...typical XD also, camaraderie is not spelled like I think it should be lol}

Mika
The girl looked excited to meet them--more so than Sitara had been. Mika guessed that the she-elf had plenty of reason to be distrustful and wary; after all, this was somewhat of a secret hideout. He could see the girl's room behind her, a glimpse of what his might look like. Meeting new people was fun and all...but he was anticipating seeing where he would be sleeping. Retiring on a bed made of ice did not sound pleasant.
"And you as well, milady--" Mika's words were punctuated with a loud growl from his stomach. His cheeks flushed pink, but he wasn't actually embarrassed. He laughed and asked the girl, "Do you happen to have a cook?"

Zyla
The other dragoness was certainly polite, Zyla noted. She didn't feel any animosity toward her--or Borealis, for that matter. Starting to warm up to her kin, she let a smile edge her scaled lips. "You as well," she replied to Ulalie. Looking between the two others, she asked, "Forgive me if I'm being naive, but what is the point of gathering here? Is it for training or just socialization and camaraderie amongst Riders and dragons?"
What she was really concerned about was that, given the reason was training, what were they to be trained for? Zyla was concerned that this "gathering" was a guise for something else--something with reasons more sinister than a simple gesture of help to new Riders. She had no reason to suspect anything other than benevolence from whoever sent out the word about the cave, but her intuition prickled just under her consciousness. She searched for Mika's mind automatically; picking up on his vivid emotions not far from the dragons soothed her. At least he was okay.

((Yeah, everything went well. There's still a bunch of un-packing to do, and some small things to fix around the house, but it's been pretty smooth. My only big complaint is that i have to share a weensy room with my sister, who has a queen sized bed, while mine is just a twin. Seems fair.))

~Borealis~

Boreas turned his attention to Zyla, adjusting his posture slightly
"Well, other than the glacier being a well hidden and well protected hideout, we do use the large spaces fro practice, whether it's for dragons or Riders. We often spare against each other, with and without dragons and Riders together. We're preparing... for everything, really. When the people need us, we should be ready... and then there's the myth of the two dragon kings. Surely you've heard it?"

~Sitara~

She stood awkwardly for a moment as Sundari greeted the new arrivals. Then, a thought occurred to her.

"Thelduin, I would speak to you privately," she said quietly, so as not to raise suspicion. It wasn't that she had something dark and mysterious to talk about, she just didn't want anyone else joining in on the conversation later on. "When you're done with introductions, please come with me."

(Agh sorry guys. School is seriously killing me and then all we've been doing is cleaning the house constantly so that's taking away from my time to write too. D:< I'm glad everything went well with your move! That sucks about the beds though. D: I'm sorry)

Sundari

She gave a slight laugh at Mika's question, although honestly she had no clue. She had made her own food, and hadn't exactly seen anyone else in the 'kitchen' -- a larger room where perishable food was packed in ice and non-perishable food was let lying around -- at all. "I'm not exactly sure. I had prepared my own food earlier, but I could show you to the kitchen if you'd like?" Sundari suggested.

To be honest, she wasn't sure what she was even supposed to do here. It'd only been a day since she arrived, and she had spend that time arranging her room and getting to memorize her way through the labyrinth of icy halls. Maybe this other new arrival would be good. She wasn't the only new member here, and she and Mika could figure it out together. Although she'd met some of the other members briefly, Sitara had been the only one helping her. She really wasn't sure what even to do.

Ulalie

"I am not sure," She replied to the wyrm-like white dragon. "I've only been here a day."

At Borealis' words, she perked up instantly. Not of happiness, but curiosity mainly. "Preparing. That does make sense. When Sundari and I flew over towns that were not our home one, they had tried to kill me. We should show them that we are not here to harm them, but like you said, help," She continued with a slight shudder. "That horrible tale. I haven't told even Sundari this, but I'm frightened that they will wake and devour us all."

Thelduin

There was a cook here. Well was being the key word. He had been a cook here, a little hobby of his. But since he left and hadn't returned in so long, it seemed everyone just fed themselves. "We should have a feast," He thought out loud, "All of the riders. Out in the main hall. I can't imagine there's been one of those in a while."

He turned to Sitara, and gave a slight nod, "Of course," After turning back to Mika and Sundari, he said, "If you'll excuse us. But don't forget about that feast though, I'll start preparing as soon as Sitara and I are finished. Spread the word."

((No sweat Fly :3 And thanks!))

~Sitara~

The closest relatively private place was her own chambers, so Sitara lead Thelduin there. She waited for him to enter, then closed the door with a bit of magic. She hoped she wouldn't sound undermining by saying what was on her mind.

"You, our leader have been gone a while now. Since you left, none of the Riders here have really had much contact with the outside world. We don't how it goes in the south. And we don't know how it goes with you and Oblaan. Is there news of his brother?" Sitara felt she had rambled a bit at first, but at least she had gotten to her point. "And...," Sitara took a breath. "Ever since I got here, I have noticed the well, relaxed attitude of everyone. If we are truly training to be protectors of the world, then I believe we should well, perhaps loose our casual ways and get serious. This isn't some exclusive club of outdoorsy people with big fancy pets. I don't think we can afford to wait around for allies to find us. We have to take the initiative and get our act together..." Sitara took another breath. She realised her voice had slowly gotten louder. The elf couldn't remember saying so much at one time in a long while. She felt warm and her hear pounded with nervousness as she waited to hear what Thelduin would say.

~Borealis~

He looked away, as though observing something from far off.

"My Rider, Sitara, would never admit this, but she has some severe anxiety about the future of the Riders. She doesn't think we're taking our roles seriously. And, another thing she would never admit, is terrified of the idea of the other brother rising again. I feel the fear she feels, and it isn't just some "what if" notion. I think... I think she has some sort of gut feeling about it. Like she knows when he rises she will be well and alive and not prepared to aid in conquering him. I remind her that she is a long-living elf and that because of that she will have more than enough time to train herself but..." Boreas blinked. He was being really open with these other dragons. Ulalie had something about her that he just automatically trusted, but he had sort of zoned out and forgotten the others were with him, but he wasn't sure how much of a gossip Zyla was.

"Ah, don't tell anyone I told you this... Sitara would be very upset."

Thelduin

He gave a sigh after Sitara had finished talking, but an agreeing nod. "You're right, and it's all my fault too. That stupid dragon gained interest in where I was going every year, and why I was staying there for months at a time. I simply told him that I had met someone, but he's a clever old beast. I wouldn't be surprised if he were eavesdropping on this conversation through my mind. I don't know if he actually knows about the riders and is just pretending he doesn't, or if he actually is blind to what is going on up here. A part of me is certain that he knows, and thank the gods that he's accepting of us like he wasn't to the previous riders all those years ago. As for his brother," He paused for a moment, "I'm not sure. I've searched as far as I could, even asked Oblaan a couple of times without trying to raise suspicion. But I couldn't find anything and I still can't. He doesn't like to talk about his brother very often. He told me the very basics that I needed to know about what really happened between them, but that was it. He still cares for him, I know that. What he had to do to him years ago hurt him more than it did his brother.

"But you're right. This isn't just some club of outdoorsy people with fancy pets," He said, liking the way she had worded that. Honestly, he didn't even mind that she was raising her voice. She had a valid point that needed to be addressed. "We're riders, and it's time we started acting like it. It's time I've actually spent most of my time up here training you to become proper riders rather than with Oblaan. Do the other riders feel this way too?"

Ulalie

"I can't blame Sitara. I've only been here a day and I've noticed how laid-back this place is. Sundari and I thought it would be a training camp, not just some hideout," She paused, realizing she was insulting Borealis' home. "If the kings are truly going to rise again, I want to be prepared. Yes, it scares me scaleless to even think about them attacking... But better we're prepared than caught off-guard. The previous riders were taken by surprise. They didn't know the kings were going to attack. But we have the upper hand. We know they're going to come. Not the exact date, but we do know that they will someday. If we prepare ourselves, we can take them on."

She gave a slight laugh to lighten the mood, feeling adrenaline rush through her although she wasn't sure why. "Just talk of this makes me feel motivated."

Mikaviel
"A feast? That sounds superb. Good thinking, chief." Mika grinned widely; that really did sound like fun, and it would be a great way to meet the other Riders creeping around the place that he hadn't met yet. He watched Thelduin walk off with Sitara, wondering what she had wanted to talk about in discretion. Ah, well. Doesn't do to ponder on things you'll never know.

Mika turned back to Sundari and rubbed his scruff. "Well, I suppose the kitchen is pretty important...best I know where it is. I'd love for you to show me," he said kindly. "What do you think about this place so far?" He was curious as to what the general consensus was on staying here. If everyone hated it, there was always the option to leave.

Zyla
While the other two dragons had been conversing, Zyla sat silently and listened to them. When she did speak, it was with her head tilted and scaly eye ridges raised. "Kings rising again? Forgive me, but I am not familiar with the history of the Riders." She hadn't had the chance to learn about it, and she doubted Mika knew much about it either. She would agree with the others, though--if something came to attack them, it would do them well to be able to hold their own. "Though I will not spread our private conversation," the dragoness added, remembering Borealis's request.
