"You've got a deal. I'm Mikaviel," the wood elf said, his grin widening as he returned the handshake. He had no trouble being friendly, which was a good disposition to have towards their new (and only) guide. "And this is Zyla. She isn't too big on making friends, though." He glanced over his shoulder at the large white dragon head and stuck out his tongue playfully.

"I think Zy would be fine flying in this weather, but I'm sure not. I don't need any more icicles up my nose than I've already had today. Which brings us full-circle...I need to find a cave, at least for my dragon to sleep in." The winds were picking up again, and Mika shivered as a particularly frigid gust caused his cloak to billow around him. He hoped this glacier they were headed to wasn't this cold.

~Selena~

Selena scowled slightly. These two weren't very familiar with each other. They'd likely only met recently. She would continue to follow them.

Stay in this area, and make sure you stay hidden. I'm going to find out more about these guys, she thought to Boreas. She sensed his annoyance, but ignored it.

Thelduin

"It's nice to meet you Mikaviel," Thelduin said with a smile, shaking the elf's hand. While his grin was a bit unsettling, he realized the elf was just being friendly. He figured he'd have to be friendlier than he normally was, after all, Mikaviel and Zyla were his only way to the cave now, unless he wanted to fight through the snowstorm and waste his energy preforming magic. It took a lot for him to tire from preforming magic, but that was energy he'd rather keep should something try to kill him.

As Mikaviel introduced his dragon, the elf gave a grin at how rider and dragon interacted. That was something he envied; while Oblaan had his own, small sliver of humor, he wasn't one majorly into jokes. Thelduin hadn't been before either, but after spending years and years with the dragon who wouldn't crack a smile at much, he realized how much he loved a good laugh. "Don't worry. I know a dragon who isn't too keen on making friends either."

As the winds kicked up, Thelduin had to extend a hand out against a tree to keep from falling over with his stupid leg. "Cave," He frowned, nodding. It was impossible to see or go exploring for one in this weather, but he could scope the area with his mind and see if there are any bears in a den that Zyla could scare off and they could take refuge in. He opened his mind, something he cursed at himself for not having already opened; it had been way too loud at the inn with all the thoughts and minds of the patrons; and began to look. While not finding a cave, he could sense something much larger than a bear near them. A dragon, and its owner wasn't too far off.

"I didn't see a cave, but another rider and dragon are nearby," He said slowly, looking at Mikaviel. If this were a trap, even with his magic, he wouldn't be much of an opponent in this storm if he could barely stand. While muttering to himself about not searching the elf's mind before, he was reluctant to d it now. It'd break their trust if he was wrong, and the elf had nothing to do with the other rider.

~Selena~

She cursed herself. Of course another Elf and a Rider would be able to sense her simply by opening their minds. Selena hadn't used her mind to scan her surroundings for some time, since the glacier and the surrounding areas were generally void of life. So, she had gotten out of the habit.

Selena decided simply to make herself present before she embarrassed herself. She could feel Boreas' disdain for her mistake. It wasn't like he had reminded her either. She thought as much to him. After confirming her mind was sealed from any intruders, at least she hadn't forgotten about that, Selena stepped into view.

"So... You two are looking for the New Riders Cave? As it happens... I know where it is."

{short post, ugh. and way to creep Selena XD)

Mika heard the snow crunching under the newcomer's feet, but he wasn't expecting a pretty wood elf girl to step out from the shadows. He hadn't sensed her or her dragon, but then again he didn't exactly get to hone his mind radar skills that often--most of the time it was just him, Zyla, and the wilderness. Although smiling (albeit a bit wolfishly) at the stranger, he kept his guard up. Thelduin had mentioned her having a dragon, and Mika didn't know what the duo could be capable of.

"Well really any cave will do, so long as we can get out of this deplorable weather for the night," he answered. He wasn't sure if Thelduin wanted him to mention that they were already planning on going up there.

~Slelena~

She kept her usual stony mask as she replied to the other elf.

"You certainly will not be able to reach the cave at the moment. The weather is not suiting, and it is quite a flight. Also... I know this area. there are no caves. You will either have to make a snow den or sleep in the open," she said, staring right into the other elf's eyes, knowing this would indicate she should be taken seriously.

Boreas... come here, please. I wan tot introduce you.

Suppressing a groan at the girl's statement, Mika ran his hand through his hair. He'd take her word for it; the girl looked fierce, like someone he wouldn't want to cross. He had no doubt she'd be able to hold her own in a fight, even without her dragon.

"I guess a snow den will have to do." Turning to Thelduin he added, "You could stay warm at the inn for the night and just meet us here in the morning. I better stay with Zy in case she's discovered." He sent affectionate thoughts towards his dragon, who had been silently observing the elves' conversation beside her rider. It wasn't like he was too delicate for the cold weather, anyways, and Zyla was naturally pretty chilly to the touch. Her feathers made a nice cover, though, so he didn't mind sleeping next to her.

(So sorry for the wait. :3 Power went out at my grandma's and then I had my flight home today. xD I hope she'll be able to join us again!)

"I was actually on my way there until this storm came. I met Mikaviel here, and they agreed to take me up there if they could tag along," He said as the elvish lady approached from the storm. He hadn't recognized her from before at the cave, however it was possible he just hadn't been paying attention. Either way, it would be better to tell the truth about their plans to head to the cave already. If they were to double-cross her, it didn't look like something that could end well. "But for now, any cave will do to get us out of this weather," He said, agreeing with Mikaviel.

As she began to explain that there were no caves, he gave a sigh of annoyance. Of course there weren't, but hopefully the storm would be over soon. He turned to Mikaviel with a frown. "I think that's a good idea. An inn certainly sounds better than a snow den. I hope you two don't freeze to death out here."

~Boreas~

The great white dragon had just gotten comfortable in the snow bank he had plowed through. He had created a nice dragon-shaped indent in the white fluff, and now Selena decided to show him off.

Fine. But I'll have you know, I was getting comfortable he said, sending her the image of his snow-bed and the feeling of disappointment.

He crept in relative silence through the forest, hoping to appear ominous to their new acquaintances. He always liked playing with people's first impressions. His position was that of a prowling lion and Boreas appeared behind Selena in the bleak light of a lantern. He gave a low, quiet growl in his throat to show mild curiosity.

~Selena~

The wind whipped her cape and hair dramatically. Selena was quite cold, but this was different from the damp cold of the glacier. The cold she felt now was of the outdoors and the wind. So she really didn't mind it.

She felt a bit bad to deprive Boreas of his cozy bed, but it was all part of the plan to impose some sort of authority over the possible threats.

"Before you go... I would know your names," she said, addressing the two men, reaching up to stroke Boreas' nose at the same time. He had appeared with perfect timing.

As the dragon appeared out of no where behind the elvish lady, Thelduin gained an interest in the pair. They seemed closely bonded, as if they were more than just dragon and rider, but two halves of one another. They seemed to complete one another even right now, and he hadn't even heard the dragon speak yet. Maybe it was just the way they acted with one another, but it was easily distinguishable that either one would protect the other to the death.

Looking at Mikaviel, he decided to introduce himself. As for the other man, that was up to him. He wasn't sure if Mikaviel would introduce himself to the elvish lady or not. "I don't know if my friend is wiling to give out his name or not, but I am Thelduin," He said, deciding to hold back his title. Maybe this elf would recognize him by that name alone from being up at the cave before, and maybe if she mentioned her's, he would recognize her's too. Even if not, he wasn't wanting to tell who is partner was until they got to the cave, or unless it was necessary. Which, it very might be should things to wrong. This elf had a wild look in her eyes, as if she wouldn't hold back if she suspected him or Mikaviel of plotting against the riders up at the cave.

"I've had a long journey making my way up to the cave, and to top it all off my hippogriff and only ride was stolen earlier this evening. My friend here had just offered to give me a ride, of course after this storm blows away," He said.

"Yeah, if I don't freeze to death first," Mikaviel said jokingly to Thelduin, who was throwing side glances at him. He turned to the girl and gave a short bow. "I'm Mikaviel...or Mika." Apparently these Riders were all pretty cryptic, so he didn't want to pry by asking her name. He figured if she hadn't given it out yet, she wouldn't until they proved themselves to be benevolent.

Really, though, Mika's interest was piqued by the girl's dragon (who may or may not have startled him by slinking out of the shadows and up to the group). He was pretty, with white scales like Zyla...though his shape was nothing like hers. Looking over his shoulder at the latter, he grinned. She was entranced.

Zyla tilted her head to the left in curiosity, though still held it high so as not to appear subordinate. She'd never seen one of her kind up close before; though his scales looked the same, she was surprised to see that he had four legs and a short body instead of two forelegs and a long, serpentine body like her own. His wings were different, too--there were no feather tufts. He didn't look like he was aggressive...but Zyla didn't want to risk that by talking to him. She didn't know dragon customs or anything, and the last thing she wanted to do was be rude. She settled for a polite head dip in acknowledgment, which was a pretty universal gesture.

~Selena~

When Thelduin gave his name, Selena had to control her breathing. she had heard the name before. How could she not? But was it a coincidence? He could be using a fake name, and happened to choose that one. Or maybe it was his real name. But it was just as likely fro him to be an impostor. She had never met the Thelduin, Rider of the mighty Oblaan. But everyone at the Cave knew who he was. For now, she would be respectful, and tread carefully. If he turned out to be the real Thelduin, it would do well to leave a good impression.

Selena could feel Boreas having the same thoughts. In silent agreement, they decided to be wary of the High Elf.

Mikaviel was a new name to her however. She nodded curtly at both elves.

"I am Selena. This is Borealis," Boreas made a grumbling sound in his throat, a sort of 'nice to meet you' in dragon lingo. He dipped his head at the other dragon. Selena could tell by the way she held herself so regally, and the look in her eyes. She was a female for certain, and not to be looked down upon.

"Until morning, then Thelduin and Mikaviel" Selena said. Already the forest seemed darker and colder than a few minutes before. The north did not take its sweet time in dropping the temperature at night. With that, Selena lay a hand on Boreas' flank so he could guide her back to his snow-bed.

Borealis lay on his side, back partially pressed into the ground. Part of his wing had to go beneath him , acting as a protective layer against the snow, so Selena would be dry. He covered her with his other wing. It was still chilly, but Boreas loved the cold and his wings provided acceptable insulation.

Mika smiled at the dragon and his owner in turn. "Nice to meet you two." Although Selena seemed a bit brusque, she was amiable enough...and the dragon didn't eat them or burn them to a crisp, so that was nice. She had the right idea getting some rest for the night, too. They'd have an early morning tomorrow for sure. Mika waved his hand and added a sing-song "Goodniiiiight!" as the girl and dragon receded into the forest.
"Well," he said to his new companion, folding his arms across his chest, "I guess this is goodnight. Shall we meet here at dawn?" It would be easy for Zyla and him to wake up that early, but he wasn't sure about Thelduin. The inn's warmth probably would make it harder to wake up.
