~ Sitara ~ Sitara had been about to make a sarcastic remark about Rowan's ego, and then suggest they go to the actual training room, makeshift though it was. The wind blew icily through the entrance, and not only did she dislike the possibility of one of the Riders falling off the ledge, but her limbs were growing slowly numb as the rain turned to snow. However, Caedon, Rowan's dragon, had said something to Rowan, and was looking warily outside. Now might not be the time for a practice duel after all. "What is it, Rowan?" Sitara said, cocking her head to see if she could catch any sounds that might mean danger was coming. She heard nothing but the wind and the falling snow, but her sense of smell was nothing compared to Caedon. ~ Borealis ~ Borealis had been feeding on a stringy deer when heard the studding thwump, thwump of heavy wing-beats. He first assumed it was one of his comrades, but he quickly realized the pattern was off, and unlike those of his friends. Now wary of danger, Borealis reluctantly left his meal, flying speedily towards the strange dragon. As he got closer, his sensitive nose picked up the scent of human. It to was unfamiliar, and he hurried to find out if this new Rider was friend or foe. Finally, the shape of the new dragon came into view. She appeared to be a ruddy purple in colour, and the Rider on her back - for he could smell she was female - was distinguished against the grey sky, which had promptly began to hurl snow at the earth. 0 players like this post! Rowen peered out into the distance again as his dragon growled every few seconds, getting louder as it kept rising to his chest with deep rumble. He finally turned to the figure of Sitara who was curiously watching behind him as the wind started to pick up and scrape against the wall of the giant cave."Ceadon says its an unfamiliar dragon and with human. Are dual might have to wait." He stepped closer to the edge of the shear cliff side and slowly leaned his body to stare down onto the ground floor which was slowly becoming white with snow as he said it. 0 players like this post! (I apologize for the wait: I had a bad migrane yesterday and I hurt to even look at my laptop. I'll edit this into my reply as soon as I'm on my laptop! Sorry again. :3) (I had this entire damned thin typed and then I accidentally refreshed and I wasn't logged in. Ugh sorry it's shit, the original was better.) Sundari It seems we've been noticed, Ulalie lifted her head at the roar of another dragon, rising to her full height on her wings. She was a wyvern, only having two hind legs, and large, powerful wings in place of where forearms would be, but still a species of dragon. She gave a low rumble, eager to meet her kind. She'd been on her own for years, and since spotting the blue dragon and deciding to trek up here, she'd been dying to meet another like her. "Let's fly up and meet them," Sundari said, watching the two figures and the dragon on the glacial cliff. She held onto one of Ulalie's spikes with freezing fingers, and felt the dragon tense underneath her, ready to fly. "Although if that one doesn't shut up, I may just ask you to eat his puny head," "I don't think that'd be the best way to introduce ourselves, my Rider," Ulalie said out loud, taking flight into the icy air. Sundari gave a shiver, and pulled the cloak tighter around her. "Besides, that dragon looks around my size, meaning he is around or of my age. I don't know how far I could make it in a fight with another of my kind," She continued, and was right. All they had ever fought were bandits, the occasional orc, or drunks that dared to lay a finger on Sundari or her dragon. In a real right against her own kind, Sundari realized Ulalie hadn't much training. As the icy wind nipped at her face, Sundari gave a scowl. Couldn't they make their headquarters on a nice, sunny beach? She complained to Ulalie, but through their minds. They were close to the glacial entrance now, and she didn't wnat them to overhear and have their chances of joining the Riders void. As Ulalie grasped onto the edge of the cliff, digging into the ice with her talons, Sundari observed the two Riders and the dragon watching them. The girl seemed to be an elf. She was too far away to make out the ears, but she could assume because of her height compared to the other. The other was human she guessed, male, and around her age by the look of it. The elf's age was lost to her. They had such long lives and could look whatever age they wanted, she had no clue. As for the dragon, she couldn't tell whose he was. When Ulalie pulled herself up, she rested on her wings for a moment, before extending one down so Sundari could dismount. The Rider stood mounted on the dragon for a moment, and then slid out of the saddle and stood in front of the dragon. Her legs wobbled and stung with numbness, but she cleared her throat and started to speak. "I'm Sundari, and this is my dragon, Ulalie. We've come from far south to see the New Riders' Cave," She started, but paused, unsure how to finish it. Assuming that they would say something from there, she left it at that, hoping that the Riders would be kinder than the black dragon with his constant growling. As if sensing her uneasiness, Ulalie curled her tail in front of her Rider. You've never nervous, Sundari, The dragon's voice mused into her mind. I'm nervous that the growling animal over there will decide we look tasty. We haven't had much experience in fighting another dragon and Rider pair, Ulalie. What if they decided we can't join? Sundari snapped back. Calm down, my Rider. If anyone lays a finger on you, I will snap his head off and wear it as a helmet. I've told you this, Ulalie gave a sigh, turning her amber eyes to look at the black dragon for a moment, and then resting them on the two Riders. Thelduin The elf trekked through the snowy landscape, a scowl planted on his face. He didn't know what he expected; it was always snowy up here. Whether he expected the snow to magically stop, or for some Rider to pick him up so he wouldn't have to walk all the way here with a stupid hippogriff that wouldn't fly, he didn't know. That hippogriff. The damned animal refused to fly whenever it was snowing. Since Oblaan wouldn't fly him down here, and god forbid if the dragon ever found out about the new generation of Riders, he had to settle with buying another flying thing from a breeder. A bloody expensive cost, too, for an animal that wouldn't even do what he asked. The strength and power of a gryphon, with the elegance and stamina of a horse or pegasus. And wings. Large, powerful, wings that could fly him to the New Riders' Cave as fast a dragon could. Perhaps not as fast, but faster than walking the entire way. But no, the stupid animal wouldn't fly in the snow. Or rain, for that matter. The spring showers has caused them to walk most of the way in the south, which was another reason why they were later arriving to the cave than usual. Stupid animal. As if reading his thoughts, the hippogriff reared. Thelduin jumped back, and, pulling its head down with the lead rope, said, "We're almost at the town. Remember it, with the large inn where the local drunks hang out that like to give you any food you'd want? We've almost there, so just cooperate please," He guessed that the reason that the hippogriff didn't like him was because they didn't have a bond together. Almost like a dragon, a hippogriff had to have a close relationship and trust with one before they completely obeyed and protected him. Clearly, this one didn't have a bond with Thelduin at all. As the hippogriff reared up again, this time splaying its wings in a violent display, Thelduin dropped the lead rope and stepped back. This time, he didn't think it was him. Something had spooked it. The sound of wingbeats echoed through the icy air, and soon a dragon flew overhead. It was hard to make out in the white sky, but he could clearly see it was a dragon. A rider on its back stood out darkly in contrast to the white dragon and clouded sky. They flew at a low altitude, and he wondered if they were going to land soon. As the dragon passed and the hippogriff calmed, he grabbed the lead rope and pulled out the horse's bridle from the saddlebags across the hippogriff's feathered back. You didn't normally need a bridle to ride a hippogriff, but this one wouldn't listen, even if he talked to it through its mind. After fighting to get it in the animal's beak, he mounted the hippogriff and applied pressure to its sides. Reluctantly, it started at a walk, but eventually moved into a canter through the snow. If that dragon and Rider were headed to the town, he'd want to get there as well. Perhaps they'd give him a lift to the glacial cave where the rest of the Riders were. It was wrong to ever ride upon a dragon that isn't yours, but he wouldn't mind being carried in its claws up to the cliff. 0 players like this post! Like? ~ Borealis ~ The stark white dragon had followed the new pair in relative silence, roaring mildly every once in a while to remind them he was there, watching them. The dragon and her Rider were making for glacier in which Boreas and his comrades used as their headquarters. They seemed to move with an uncanny direction for the main entrance. Boreas squinted at them suspiciously, certain that they had never even visited the New Riders before. It could be that they had come by before he and Sitara had joined, but Boreas wasn't about to give the two strangers the benefit of the doubt. As they neared the headquorter's entrance, Boreas swooped in past the new arrivals, flowing over top of Sitara. Once he had landed, the white dragon padded back to the entrance, standing protectively over his Rider. He knoticed both she and Rowan had their weapons out, and while they looked relaxed, he knew that Sitara was wary and ready to jump into action. ~ Sitara ~ Sitara's keen eyes picked out the dark form of the new Rider and dragon on the horizon. She and Rowan stood motionless and silent as they watched and waited for them to arrive. If they had trouble finding the entrance, Sitara decided she would ask Rowan to show them where it was, seeing as Boreas was out hunting. She wondered if he had sensed them coming, and was tracking them. She desperately hoped that if he was, the other two would not test his temper. After some time, perhaps 10 minutes later, the other Rider and dragon were nearly at the glacier, and Sitara was able to see that indeed, Boreas was keeping pace, not far behind them. Sitara smiled slightly, knowing he would be impatient with their "slow" speed. Boreas was a very fast flyer, and was always hurrying the other dragons when they fllew together. In this way, he and Sitara were perfect for each other, since his inability to remain at a slower speed chaffed Boreas, and he would always be ahead of the group. This suited Sitara just fine. At last, the dragon and its Rider entered the cave. Sitara noticed with suprise that the other dragon was indeed a Wyvern, unlike any of the dragons currently living with them. The young girl, who was apparently the new Rider come to find them, Dismounted via the dragon's wing. She greeted Sitara and Rowan, and after a quick assesment, Sitara deemed her not to be a threat. Her lack of weapon was apparent, and the ruddy-purple Wyvern's eyes skipped curiously back and forth from Caedon and Boreas. She had obviously not been among her kind before. Stepping forward, Sitara greeted her, in her own way of course. "Welcome, then, for you have found it. I am called Sitara, and my dragon is Borealis," she stated plainly. Though she believed the girl to be inexperienced, Sitara was not about to believe the girl, Sundari, was prepared to betray the New Riders, if she wasn't already in cahoots with their enemies. Sitara set herself to multi-tasking: trying to search the girl's mind for any threats, and welcoming her. "You two have traveled far no doubt... The far-south indeed." Sitara took in the girl's unsubstantial clothing. Sundari was most certainly not dressed for the glacier's weather. "You look weary. Borealis will escort your friend to the dragon's quarters. And I'm sure I can find you some more appropriate garments." Boreas gave Sitara a shocked look. Why did she sound so... hospitable? 0 players like this post! Like? Rowens glance cought the sight of the pair who were quickly closing in on there caves enterance, shuffling has foot a little before they finally cought up and landed hard against the ice covered edge. The dragons talons broke the ice as its tips imbeded into its thickness. Ceadon slamed his talloned hand against the cold ground as a loud growl escaped his maw and narrowhis eyes at the couple. Rowen had to give him the look before he finally shut up and protectivly curled his tail around his riders leg as he settled his body againt the ground. Rowen stepped around it to follow sitara twords the girl to intoduce himself, standing slightly behind the elf as she started to talk, Ceadon finally followed his rider closer . "And in rowen. This is ceadon" he said after sitara finished, giving a malatone responce. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 10/05/14 by Senna541 (#28437) |

{ugh, i was housesitting all weekend and the people didn't give me their wifi password...and they have those creepy nanny cams everywhere!} Mika, can we land or not? Zyla thought testily to her Rider. They'd been circling a little town near the woods for a few minutes while Mika tried to figure out if it would be better for the dragon to lay hidden in the forest or stay in the sky where she'd be nearly camouflaged against the clouds. She'd prefer to be in the forest, though, because she hadn't eaten in a while. It was starting to make her cranky. Mika patted her neck sympathetically, sensing her growing discontent through their mental bond. I guess that would be the better option for you. Find a clearing. The dragon slithered her body with a bit more verve than before, seemingly excited to be able to take a break. When she saw an opening in the trees, Zyla angled her wings and dove. They landed softly, her body making the leaves and snow rustle as it dragged on the forest floor. The snow wasn't as thick here, unable to reach through the dense cover of the trees. "Alright, you," Mika said aloud, "go eat something." Zyla nodded and slithered away to catch some unlucky creature. Mika felt her thin their bond until she was just a ghost on his consciousness, ready for him to call her back if he needed her. He made his way out of the woods and found the path that led to the town. The first thing he'd do is head straight for the inn--he needed a drink (or several). The road was winding and slippery, its stones covered in ice. Lucky for Mikaviel he was light on foot, being an elf and all that comes with it, but he felt a little bad for all the stout peddlers and farmers trying to push their mules up the path. He'd even stopped to help one guy pick up his spilled potatoes that were rolling all places. Humans... Mika thought to himself. When at last the heavy wooden front door of the inn came into view, the elf picked up his pace. He was ready to be in front of that fire. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(I hate those! I'm always paranoid when I'm babysitting they have them and don't tell me about it. I mean, I'm fine with the kids, but one they're asleep, I demolish their food. I don't want them to see me eating all of their food haha.) Sundari After a moment, the elf spoke, with a far more welcoming tone in her voice than their pose held. Weapons drawn, and now with the white dragon looming from behind her, it certainly didn't seem as though they were going to welcome her. However, the elf's kindness surprised Sundari. "Thank you for the welcome, Sitara and Boeralis, Rowen and Caeaon," She gave a smile, as Ulalie's tail dragged back and forth on the glacier floor in front of her. Clearly, the dragon was still wary of these other Riders and their dragons, but her amber eyes shone with interest at the white and black dragons. It was strange, she thought, seeing more of her kind. And they both had four legs, a strange sight. She hadn't heard of a dragon with four legs before. They were watching her; she knew that. Searching her and her Rider's minds as well, but that was to be expected. After all, she and Sundari had come intruding into their home. However, at the mention of her and Sundari separating, Ulalie shifted her weight further on her wings, and leaned her head over her Rider. I am not so sure of us separating, Her voice chimed into Sundari's mind. The Rider kept her gaze on the elf before her, Sitara. The one that was going to lead her into her through the glacial cave, and whose dragon was going to show Ulalie to her quarters. We have to give it a try, I suppose. If we don't trust them, then they won't trust us. At that, the dragon, whose head was leaned down to meet her Rider's, gave a low rumble, but said nothing to object. Her eyes flicked attentively to the white dragon, Borealis, who was going to lead her to the dragons' quarters, studying him. She made out that, based on the dragon's size, he was younger than her, but his strong muscles and wicked spikes would make it an unfair match indeed if they were to fight. He had most likely been training to battle his own species since the day he hatched, where as she had never even lay an eye on one of her kind until now. Rolling her tail across the glacial floor until it curled around Sundari's feet, Ulalie gave a small nod of hello to the dragon, heeding Sundari's words. If they didn't trust the Riders, then the Riders would never trust them in return. "I would appreciate that, Sitata. Thank you," Sundari gave a nod of her head to the Elvish Rider, and set a hand on Ulalie's muddy-purple tail. Thelduin After around ten minutes or so of riding at a constant canter, the feathered hippogriff slowed its gait until it was back at the slow walk it began with. Giving it a gentle kick to the sides, and then a harder one, Thelduin scowled at the beast. It wouldn't move faster than a walk, again. And the snow had increased, so flying was out of the question. The good thing, he thought, was that the town wasn't far off now. And hopefully, that dragon and Rider would have stopped there. When the town came into the sight, barely, however, from the thick snowfall, the hippogriff came into a different demeanor. Rather than walking lazily, it lifted its head and began to prance, catching the snow in its clawed front bird-feet. It unfurled its wings, and moved into a fast-paced trot, feeling as the wind caught in its feathers. "Remember the town now?" Thelduin gave a slight laugh, surprised it didn't slip on the ice, and watching as the hippogriff pranced excitedly towards the snow-covered buildings. It was a small human town, however in the snow, it was hard to make your way around it. Even after visiting here year after year on his way to the Riders, even Thelduin couldn't make his way around the town perfectly. However, he knew where the inn was, and that was all that mattered. Just a place to stay for the night and where the hippogriff could be fed by the drunks and patrons of the inn. He didn't even need to lead the beast to the building -- it knew exactly where it was. It even took him up the steps with little bounds of flight -- probably the only flying it'd ever do in the snow -- and onto the patio of the wooden building. Dismounting the hippogriff, Thelduin removed its bridle. He didn't bother putting on its halter, because it wouldn't leave from here, ever. He had to drag it away from the building when it was time to head to New Riders' Cave, and that was not an easy task. He pushed open the door, although took a step back to avoid having his foot broken from the hippogriff. It pranced into the inn, and the drunken laughs and shouts of the annual patrons who fed it sounded from within. Thelduin shook his head, and followed it in, being sure to close the heavy door behind him so no snow blew in. The hippogriff paid no attention to him, as usual, nor did the drunks. He wasn't even sure if they knew the hippogriff was his, or if they just thought a random hippogriff wandered into the inn every spring. Being that they were always drunk whenever he visited, he assumed it was the later. He wasn't one for heavy drinking himself, but a drink or two he didn't mind. And what they had to drink in this small human town was definitely different from what the elves had to offer. It was certainly more than there was when he was stuck with Oblaan -- which was nothing. At all. He sat down at the bar and ordered a drink, keeping an eye on what the drunks gave the hippogriff to ensure it would still be able to carry him tomorrow. Having not spotted the dragon or its Rider anywhere, he'd have to make sure the beast didn't drink too much. One year they had given it too much to drink and the animal walked crooked the entire way to the glacier. It even attempted to fly, -- it wasn't snowing at the time -- and managed to crash into the icy side of the glacier. That had been the highlight of the Riders' year, and they refused to let it go. 0 players like this post! Like? |

{ME TOOOO hahaha i have to sneak their food under my shirt XD usually i bring my own, but sometimes they just have irresistible goodies! also i don't even know if this post sucks or not. i feel like i wrote so much more lol} Mikaviel looked up from pushing some farmer's cart to see a--what is that, a hippogriff? Huh.--waltz into the inn. Well, it would make for some good entertainment at least...if he would stop being so nice to these people and actually arrive at his destination. Once at the top of the slope, the elf gave a swift bow and began walking away from the less fortunate man, who called out a sincere thanks for the assistance. Mika waved his hand behind him and pulled open the door to the inn, which had only been a short distance away after all. A pleasant warmth greeted him along with the scent of ale and travelers--a scent he had become quite used to in his time spent traversing the land. He probably didn't smell any different himself. A stout, elderly waitress brisked by him so that he had to sort of scrunch himself between a column and a rather burly man. "Sorry," he said with a grin, taking the next moment to saunter to the bar and order himself a pint of ale that had a nice berry aftertaste to it and a bowl of stew. Taking his drink and meal, Mika sat in a secluded niche by a window. That hippogriff certainly was entertainment, eating everything the patrons fed it. He wondered whose it was...probably some procurer of expensive living creatures. He tucked into his stew, half grinning, as he watched the animal and the excited people around it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rowen: Rowen sighed to himself as the two girls infront of him started to speak in a common conversation. He wasn't the type for small talk and even preferred not to talk at all but for once he was trying to be nice he guessed, just to try something new. Scuffing his boots against the cold icy ground he casually glanced to his impatient dragon before nodding in agreement to there silent speech. Rowen slowly back away from the pair before turning around to the same large rock he sat his saddle on just to pick it up, grunting a little from the waight bareing on his arms, letting his large dragon lumber twords him before sliding it across his scaled back and lopped the sinch across his stomach. Ceadon: Ceadon rumbled as he neared his rider, keeping a close eye on the new dragon who seemed to always be glaring at him, letting a small growl in responce every time her eyes met his. His head slightly turned to meet Rowen's as he saw the large lether saddle that sat on his arms before lowering himself to the ground. The feal of cold leather on his scales made him jitter from the uncomfortableness and slowly stood back to full hight for the sinch to be tightened. He could feel his rider become uncomfortable as well when he left the two girls and in simpathy lowered his onyx head to his rider to nuzzle his arm only for a few seconds, then lifted it again to look out into the almost-blizzard they were about to fly into. 0 players like this post! ~ Sitara ~ Sitara turned towards Boreas, and spoke to him with her mind. Try to get some information out of the girl's dragon. You know, where they've been, how long they've been traveling... If you can, ask about how advanced their abilities are Boreas blinked, showing he understood. Sitara almost felt bad, because she was giving this new girl the impression that she was friendly and even sociable. It might be a let down for her later on, when she realized it was all a ruse for her to earn Sundari's trust. In fact, unless by some miracle Sundari became Sitara's friend, there would be little communication between the two of them. The other members already knew this about her. Sitara led Sundari away, towards her own chambers. The girl was quite small compared to her, but she desperately needed new and more suitable clothes. Though cold, Sitara was not heartless. As they neared the section of the frozen cave that held the Member's "dormitories", Sitara looked towards Sundari. "This is where we generally keep our rooms, though almost everything is makeshift, until you manage to cart some actual furniture up here. And... unless you have magic, there are unfortunately no doors." She gestured towards the large openings that led to other, more petite rooms, most of which were suitable for humans, and could accommodate a young dragon. Finally, they reached the far back of the "hall", where Sitara had chosen her room. With a little magic, and the help of her partner, they had made a door of ice, complete with hinges and a knob (though it didn't turn, but made it easier to pull the thing closed and open). It sealed shut when Sitara wanted it to, and had enough space at the bottom and the top to allow air in. Sitara pushed it open, and led Sundari in. The Forest Elf went straight to the wardrobe she had hauled up here. She picked out a small cape, which had gotten mixed up with her winter garments. She knew she hadn't thrown it away for a reason. Sitara tossed it onto her bed, and began rummaging for some more clothes that would do until Sundari could go and buy her own. She found some shortened leggings, meant to be worn with boots, and a long sleeved shirt of soft leather, that could easily be re-sized by chopping off the ends of the sleeves and the hem. The beautiful embroidery would not longer be there, but Sitara wasn't sentimental. Besides, there was still some visible at the neck line. Before turning back to Sundari, Sitara observed her room with pleasure, which she did often. She had built the bed herself, having brought some tools with her, and with a whole forest full of materials, it hadn't been hard to craft the bed frame. The mattress consisted of the feather's from many-a plucked bird carcass, scraps of cloth and even pine needles, all wrapped up and sown in a thick quilt. Assorted blankets covered the surface. She had carted some pillows back from home, along with other things like the two miss-matched carpets on the icy floor. The crude wardrobe had been made by Sitara as well, though recently. There was a small bureau and a desk... and Sitara had many more plans for her room. Much could be done in a year, and altough the furniture was crude by elven standards, Sitara was proud of it. Sh had many more plans for her room. "Will these do," she held the clothes up to Sundari. ~ Borealis ~ The male dragon grumbled a greeting to the new female. He padded along one of the great "halls", not looking back to see if the strange dragon was following. This section of the glacier emptied into a great cavern with pocketed walls that reach up to the domed ceiling, which was speckled with ice crystals that reflected the blue light streaming in through the ice. "Here is where we dragons live, though we are certainly not restrained to it." 0 players like this post! Like? |

(Sorry about my absence yesterday! School. :3 And Charlemange, I know right! I ALWAYS steal their food... I mean they did say "help myself", so I think I will. xD This one family always had cookie dough in their fridge. I haven't babysat for them in a while though. :c I miss cookie dough.) Sundari Her attention went from the elf to the human -- Rowen, he said his name was -- as he turned and began to saddle his dragon. She watched for a moment, curious as to how others rode and saddled their dragons. After all, Ulalie was a wyvern, so a saddle was a bit hard to stay on her. But with a quadrupedal dragon, the saddle must stay on a bit easier, with them having forearms to hold it place. As Sitara began to walk off, Sundari directed her attention to the elf again. Sitara walked briskly, and she found herself having to walk fast to keep up. Probably a Wood Elf, she thought to herself. They were the energetic ones, she remembered. Adventure-lovers and thrill-seekers. She hadn't even thought of trying to figure out what type of elf Sitara was. Trying not to look at her too much, Sundari thought back to what she and her father had studied together about the elves. The Wood Elves had fair skin and could have any color of hair. But she couldn't tell with Sitara -- her skin was lighter, not quite that of a High Elf, but it didn't seem dark enough to be a Wood Elf. Her ears weren't pointed much either, where as if she were a High Elf, they would be pointed a lot. She concluded that she was a Wood Elf, because she didn't have the foreign-look of a Dark Elf, nor the high pointed ears of a High Elf. She was unsure, though, and tempted to ask Sitara, but didn't want to pry. As they walked, Sundari frowned as she remembered something Ulalie had mentioned. They had been looking through their minds, earlier. No doubt Sitara was doing it at this moment. Not that she had anything to hide, but she was almost embarrassed to have Sitara know she was wondering what type of Elf she was. However, she didn't mention anything of it, because if Sitara hadn't been reading her mind, then it would only be awkward. When Sitara had showed her the rooms, carved into the glacier, she only gave a nod. The fact that there wasn't a door wasn't the most welcoming thought, but she could get used to it. After all, she had grown up with four brothers... She honestly didn't care anymore, as long as they didn't come into her room. Not that Ulalie would allow them, anyways. They passed through the hall, headed to a doored room at the end of the hall. This, she guessed, was Sitara's room. As they walked though the door, she knew she was right. It was a nice room, based off of what she had seen already. Very few rooms had furniture aside from a bed or a desk. Sitara's room had a bed; a feather bed, she noted, as she set a hand on it; a wardrobe, a bureau and a desk, and even carpets on the icy floor. Sundari looked up as Sunita spoke, holding up clothes. They were nice clothes; definitely heavier then her southern clothes. And, they would do a ton of a better job than her make-shift fur cloak. This would actually keep her warm, hopefully. Giving a smile, she nodded, "Those will do perfectly. I can roll the sleeves up or hem them. Thank you," Ulalie As the white dragon grumbled a meeting, Ulalie gave a blink. He didn't say anything aside from that quiet hello, but she didn't think much of it. Rather, he walked off without saying anything else, and she turned to follow. However, moving around on her wings wasn't the easiest thing to do. For a while, she attempted to keep up with him, but resorted to jumping into the air and flying along the top of the icy roof. It was a tall and wide hallway, and she could easily soar along the cold drafts that ran along the top of the ceiling, keeping up with Borealis as he walked below. When the ceiling gave way to a vast cavern, she dropped down to rest beside the white dragon. It was a great cave, with plenty of room for a few full-growns; and way too much room for young ones like them. However, they would be full-grown eventually. "It is plenty of room," She gave a nod, focusing on Borealis and then turning back to look out at the cavern. Thelduin Someone else had walked in, but Thelduin didn't pay much attention... because the drunks were now feeding the hippogriff lemoncake -- its favorite food. Lemoncake probably wasn't the best thing for it, but it ate the cake anyways, stumbling back a little bit as they shoved more food into its beak. The animal ate it gladly, swallowing it whole, and reared lightly for more. As they shoved a mug of beer at the beast's beak, it unfurled its wings and drank what they gave it. After the third mug, the hippogriff fell back as they tried to give it more to drink, and the whole crowd in the inn's small tavern laughed. "Let's not give the beast a hangover; I still need him to fly me tomorrow," Thelduin gave a laugh, watching as the hippogriff was struggling to keep its footing. The drunks loved feeding it, and it could eat until you thought it would explode -- but after a drink or two, the animal started to loose it. The way that the crowd was taking the sight of a drunken hippogriff showed that they were mostly patrons who've seen the same thing happen a year before. They've been stopping at the inn each year on their way to New Riders' Cave. This was the seventh year. The oldest dragon and the longest one's been a Rider is ten years, however he couldn't make his way up to the cave the first year because the rumors of new Riders hadn't spread very far. However, in the third year of the Riders' return, he decided to check it out if it were true. After all, if it was, he'd have to try his best to make sure his partner wouldn't kill them all like last time. He hoped that Oblaan had learned his lesson --after all, the power of being the only partnership and 'king', as he called himself, had gone to his head before. Both his head and his brother's head, and look where his brother was now. Look where he was now; wasting away hiding in an endless mountain range. If the beast were to find out about the new Riders, Thelduin hoped history would not repeat itself. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 13/05/14 by Flying Changes (#17120) |

((Sorry for the small post! I'm in a bit of a hurry.)) ~ Boreas ~ The dragon grumbled in agreement, then, seeing Ulalie flying above in the icy roof, Boreas went to join her. Now would be a good time to ask some questions he thought. The ruddy-purple female's scales shone dully in the grey and blue light. He tried to start off casually. "So, you two are from the far south? What is it like there?" ~ Sitara ~ Sitara nodded. "Good." She turned away so Sundari could change. While she was doing so, Sitara said, "And by the way you would be correct in assuming I am of the Forest Elves." 0 players like this post! Like? |

(No worries! Real life comes first) Sundari She gave a smile when Sitara has said good, glad that the clothes would fit. For the most part, anyways. It'd take a bit of hemming to get the clothes to fit, but she could roll up the sleeves for now, and the leggings should fit fine. As for the cape Sitara had handed, it looked as if it would drag on the ground a bit. With the thick, winter fabric and fur lining the inside, it might be hard to trim, but she could figure it out. It may take a while, but again, it would work until she could fix it. As Sitata mentioned she was of the Forest Elves, Sundari looked up at her for a moment, and then back down at the clothes. She didn't say anything, however gave a nod. She figured that Sitara had been listening, and while she felt somewhat embarrassed, she turned her attention to putting on the clothes. Taking off the thin pants she had on, she slipped on the leggings, made from a light and yet thick material. Perfect for keeping her warm. They were made to be worn with boots and were supposed to be short, but they went down past the middle of her shins, because she was shorter than Sitara. She slipped on her boots over them. They weren't the nicest, but they were furred inside and made of leather on the outside to rid of water. Next, she put on the leather shirt over her thin one. The sleeves were long as expected, but she just rolled them up. The shirt was long on her and went down past her waist, but that could be hemmed too. Next, she took the cape Sitara had given her and attached it to the leather shirt. It definitely could keep her warm, and didn't drag on the ground as much as she thought it did. It might not even need hemming, even though it brushed the ground as she shifted her weight. "These will do nicely. Thank you, Sitara," She said, looking back at the elf. Ulalie She looked at the white dragon began to fly beside her, but turned her head back out to the vast cavern. It could certainly hold plenty of full-grown dragons and even the younger ones along with them. Borealis asked a question, but she didn't really pay attention at first until a moment had passed. "Well," Ulalie began, pausing a moment to think, "It's certainly warmer than here. Much warmer. There are forests there, not scattered, snowy trees. Dense forests one could get lost in as if it were a labyrinth. Sundari and I loved flying in them. It really helped with balance and aerial precision. Sundari lived in a fisherman's town, so there was a sea beside us. To feel the cold sea breeze against your scales after a hot day; it was heaven," She stopped, not wanting to ramble on. But, the truth was, she missed the place. She couldn't admit it to Sundari, though. After all, she was the one who wanted to trek all the way up here, not Sundari. If Borealis was listening, she didn't really care. He most likely was, but she only thought to him a chuckle. He could look through her mind all he liked. 0 players like this post! Like? |

{i think i eat more cookie dough than actual cookies haha :> okay is it still daytime? i mean based on everyone else's posts it seems to be. i'm wondering because it would be weird for Mika to be shopping after dark when most shops usually closed...} The sound of boisterous laughter woke Mika with a start. He hadn't even realized he'd fallen asleep... As he removed his feet from where he'd slung them across the top of the table, they tingled uncomfortably. Obviously he hadn't nodded off for terribly long, but in the timeless realm of sleep a few minutes can feel like a year. He wanted to stay and watch the hippogriff, who was now stumbling upon its clawed and hoofed feet from drunkenness, but he was very tired and he still had yet to buy any supplies for the cold weather. With a sigh, the wood elf took a swig of his beer and rose reluctantly from his window seat. The inn probably wouldn't have any cloaks or oilcloth boots to buy unless one of its patrons was a seller of these wares. He slapped a few coins on the bar on his way to the door, picking his way around the rowdy travelers still holding out bits of food to the hippogriff like excited little children who clutch tufts of grass and weeds and wave them in horses' faces as an enticing treat. The hippogriff didn't seem to feel its dignity was debased, though. As he reached the door, he heard a man call above the clamor that he needed the beast not to have a hangover. He turned and located the source of the voice and grinned at the man's nonchalant attitude toward the nearly uninhibited feeding of his beast. He could never do anything like this with Zyla; she'd just eat everyone in the place and break a lot of things. 0 players like this post! Like? |

((@Charlemagne. Yep, still day time :3)) ~ Sitara ~ Sitara turned back to Sundari, and once she gave her a quick look, nodded approvingly. The clothes would work. The elf walked silently back to her door, opened it, and waited for Sundari to leave, before closing it firmly with her magic. She set down the hall with a brisk pace, not waiting for Sundari. As long as she was inside the glacier, and Boreas new where her dragon was, there was very little damage the girl could do by herself. Sitara had done a thorough mind-search, though she had avoided any private or unnecessary information. It occurred to Sitara that the only productive thing Sundari could do now while she was here would be to train. The idea of teaching her was so foreign, she barely even considered it before telling herself she would request someone else to do it. Sitara was a good learner, but her patience would never last if she were to train someone without any pre-determined skill platform she could work on. Perhaps once she had learned all the basics, and then some, Sitara would work with her. And that was a big Maybe. Sitara continued to ponder this as she maid her way to the "kitchen", which mostly consisted of food stores and some places for cook fires. ~ Borealis Boreas' leathery wings flapped lazily as he and Ulalie flew through the glacier. He tried to imagine the purple dragon's life, but it was difficult. He had never been to the sea, and the idea of hot, sunny weather was not his idea of ideal, but he could sense Ulalie's wistfulness. "These labyrinth forests... they sound very intriguing. Though I have a distaste for harsh sunlight, I would not mind exploring and training in them with Sitara. She too, I am sure, would enjoy it immensely." 0 players like this post! Like? |
