(Thanks! :D <3 Yeah sleeping is pretty boring. xD Gosh sorry this sucks, I'm half way asleep right now) In the morning, Thelduin woke to the chirping of small birds. That only meant one thing, that the blizzard was over, thankfully. They'd finally be able to make it to the cave. Of course, he didn't know how long Mika had been traveling, but after his long travels, making it to the cave would be the highlight of his trip. After having to walk the nearly entire way because the stupid hippogriff wouldn't fly, the journey taking nearly twice as long as it should have, and then the bird being stolen, finally getting to the cave would be a nice relief. It'd taken him about fifteen minutes or so to trek through the now shin-high snow to get to where they had met last night, but it hadn't been nearly as hard with the wind now gone. The sky was blanketed in grey clouds, suggesting more snow could come later on, however also locking in the little heat there was. While the furry cloak he had on now was nice and all, it was actually beginning to get a bit warm with it on. He knew that if he took it off he'd instantly be cold again, though, so for now it was left on. As he approached the spot the five of them had met in last night, he didn't see anyone. Of course, they all were probably nearby, but for all he could sense, they had their minds hidden. It'd be best to just wait for someone to show themselves, so he sat down on a log fallen over from last night's storm. 0 players like this post! Like? |

((Ok, so I was hoping somebody I'm already RPing with might be interested... http://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=124809400000 We really, really need members! It's been more than two weeks now D: @Flying. Oooh, yeah I remember now xD It was even on the OOC thread! Also, very hella avvie :3)) ~Borealis~ The dragon had been covered in snow overnight. He had woken slightly throughout the storm to try and get some of it off, but he honestly couldn't move much without disturbing Selena, and he didn't want his Rider grumpy in the morning. Boreas was a bit more easy going, so he finally let the snow make a blanket over him. Now, with the snow covering his head, Boreas didn't register any sunlight to wake him up. If it hadn't been for Selena's ingrained sleeping habits, he might have slept on until late afternoon. Eventually, Boreas woke to Selena pushing on his wings. It actually tickled quite a bit, so he hastily unfolded himself. A miniature avalanche resulted. Selena's surprised cry startled him, and Boreas momentarily panicked. Had he stepped on her? He cast about, lifting his clawed feet to check. Just then, Selena's upper body popped up out of the lose snow. He touched his nose to her forehead in relief, but she pushed him away angrily. Boreas, what are you trying to do? You just buried me under a small mountain snow, and you think I'm going to cuddle you? Her expression was clearly annoyed. So much for keeping her from being grumpy. ~Selena~ She did her best to get the snow out of her cloths, but some now wet an cold spots remained. She had been fairly warm all through the night, thanks to Boreas, but after stripping off her outer clothes to be rid of the frozen clumps, she was grumpy and shivering (also thanks to Boreas) Just think of it as a refreshing morning bath in a melt-off fed spring after a wondrous hike through a summer forest! Boreas said to her helpfully. the dragon had apologized, and he was mostly forgiven, but that didn't help her mood. When she was finally ready, Selena climbed onto Boreas' saddle. Boreas silently entered the space they had met the elves last night. One was already there... Thelduin sat on a frozen log, looking patient. Good, she thought to herself, He'll need some today Selena did not greet the elf customarily, simply stating, "When Mikaviel has arrived, you may ride with us." 0 players like this post! Like? {Boreas is so CUTE I'll think about joining, but rl is getting busy -__- it looks cool though! very well thought out.} "If this is how it feels in that glacier, I'm not sure I'm up for this whole Rider club..." Mika said in a shaky voice, trying to suppress his shivers. Normally he could handle cold...as long as he wasn't sleeping against a snowdrift. Zyla had tried to curl herself around him, but there had still been snow underneath her coils. Mika took a deep breath to calm his shivering muscles as he tightened his dragon's saddle straps. Because of her physique, the straps were more like a knapsack, going under her front legs and buckling across her chest as well as her stomach to prevent the saddle from sliding down. The white dragon sighed with her throat-voice, "Stop whining, Mika. It's unbecoming." She shook the remainder of last night's snow from her feathers, but stopped abruptly. I hear someone, she thought to her Rider, switching to telepathy for the sake of secrecy. They are near. Mika reached out with his mind as best he could. He really needed practice... There were three presences that were almost blurry in his mind. It must be the others. Time to fly, Zy. He smiled at the unintentional rhyme while Zyla rolled her eyes and moved in the direction of their companions. The trio wasn't far off, and Mika could see them clearly through the trees. "Hey, are we late for the party?" he called, sporting a boyish grin. "Hope you weren't waiting here long. Zyla was just preening." His facetiousness earned him a particular female dragon's tail flicking snow into his face. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(He is adorable!<33 And I remember seeing that roleplay! I read through it before but I was tired and couldn't comprehend anything. I'll definitely read through it again and join if I can juggle another roleplay at the moment haha. And thank you both! :D) It hadn't taken long for the other to arrive. Well, one set of others. While he had expected Mika and Zyla to arrive first and then the elvish lady and her dragon to arrive last, she and her dragon had actually arrived before Mika. Thelduin wasn't really sure why he had expected her to arrive last, now that he thought about it. She seemed wary of him and Mika, and arriving after him and Mika would ensure her that they wouldn't ambush her, he supposed. Her dragon had entered so silently he hadn't noticed they arrived at first. Not to mention, his icy white scales blended in with nearly everything surrounding them at the moment. His camouflage and silent steps had sure kept his arrival secret. His rider sat in the saddle, and while Thelduin expected her to dismount, she didn't. Rather, she only told him of their plans once Mika arrived. He could tell by her tone that she was still wary, as if she were doubting him. However, he simply nodded in return and said, "Thank you." Mika had arrived not too long after, and Thelduin stood to look at his two new accomplices. While Mika and Zyla were still making their way over, he could clearly hear his voice and see the annoyance in his dragon's actions as she flicked snow at him. He couldn't help but give a small laugh at the pair, and said, "You're not late at all." 0 players like this post! Like? |

((Oh. My. Gosh. I just realised. I have been failing for the past several posts. I didn't even realise I was typing "Sitara" as "Selena". Can we maybe forget that happened and pretend every time you read Selena, it was Sitara? Hehe, cute, but don't ruin his attitude D: Boreas will chomp your head off (not literally, unless you're you know, trying to kill him) as soon as worry about stepping on you.)) ~Sitara~ Mikaviel arrived with his prim dragoness, and Sitara refrained from yelling at them to hurry up. Why wasn't the other elf getting on his dragon? Why did everyone look so at ease? Her hands tightened on the saddle's large pommel. "Alright, if we're done making small talk, then we can be on our way. Mikaviel and Zyla, I expect you two keep up with Borealis," Sitara said blatantly. Obviously, there were very few dragons out there that could keep pace with Boreas, but he would fly a bit slower today for the others' sake. Sitara made room in front of her for Thelduin. If he was bad news after all, it would only be smart to have him where Sitara could see him. ~Borealis~ He crouched down so Thelduin could mount the saddle. It would be a bit of a tight fit; the saddle was only made for one person. But both elves were slim, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Boreas knew Sitara was distrusting of the two elves, so he kept one very blue eye on Thelduin's progress. If he so much as felt him moving in the saddle he would let her know. 0 players like this post! Like? |

{I thought you changed her name or something so I just went with it XD *wipes whiteboard of memory* There, it neeeverrr happened...} "Yes ma'am," Mika said to Sitara. "Zy, you can keep up with that big head of yours, right?" He laughed as his own white dragon snorted. Don't get behind...I don't want scary elf lady to make her dragon eat us. He'd always thought Zyla was fast, but he'd never had any other dragons to compare her to. To belie his own uncertainty about his dragon's speed, he shot a wink a Sitara. I can keep up, Zyla thought back as she lowered herself for her rider to mount the saddle. She was made uncomfortable by the elf girl's urgency, so to ease her nerves and in anticipation of flight, she opened her tufted wings. The other elf was to ride on Borealis, which she was grateful for. It would be harder to sustain a high speed with extra weight on her back. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(Oh I had thought the same thing xD And come on Borealis, embrace your cute side! (:<) The tension in the elvish lady's voice was nearly visible. While he wanted to get to the cave as soon as possible too, that didn't mean they couldn't talk. But, she was their guide, and it was her dragon that was taking him up to the glacier. He gave a nod, and made his way over to her dragon. He hoped that the look of confusion on his face hadn't been as obvious as he thought it was. Although being Oblaan's partner... he hadn't really flown on a dragon before. Not in a saddle or on a dragon he had to worry about falling off of. The rare times Oblaan and him had flown, he could lay across the dragon's shoulders and not worry about falling, unless it was between the dragon's large, plate-like scales as his shoulders moved in flight. If that even counted as riding a dragon, which he doubted. This was going to be an entirely new experience, and hopefully, he wouldn't embarrass himself. After a brief moment of figuring how to climb into the saddle, he swung himself up. It had put a strain on his leg, but luckily he wouldn't really need to put any other pressure on it for a while. With two elves in one saddle, the fit was definitely tight. A bit uncomfortable, although he wasn't sure if that was because they were fit so tightly in the saddle, or if because he could feel the rider's eyes watching his every movement from behind. 0 players like this post! (Sorry for taking a while to reply. I found a nice job, and I've been working :3 I've also got a big test coming up, so I need time to study) ~Sitara~ Thelduin was quite a bit taller than her, as she was only 6'1". Being a Forest Elf, this was a decent height, so Thelduin must have been a high elf. This made Sitara uncomfortable, because she had to bend around him to see where the were going. She would have to rely on Boreas fro her sight. A moment after Thelduin had settled, Borealis straightened and spread his wings. The trees above would make this lift-off a tight fit, but Boreas was slim, and they had practiced difficult flights like these, in case they ever had an emergency. "Be careful. you haven't got leg straps like me. Borealis will do some maneuvers you're not used to, so use the pommel to stay on," she said to Thelduin. Just in time, too. Boreas leaped into the air, is large wings dominating the small clearing (at least I imagined it as a small clearing...). He flapped rapidly, his body almost vertical. Sitara leaned forward, hoping Thelduin would take his cues from her. The tree branches brushed against Boreas' wings, and Sitara felt his annoyance from the stingy needles. Boreas' gave one last effort, and folded his wings to slip out from the tree tops. It all lasted a mere moment, but the tension made it seem longer. Once they were into the open air, the dragon immediately began to drop again, and his wings beat the cold, dry air for purchase. They snapped a few tips off the trees bellow, again to Boreas's annoyance. Finally, however, they were above the trees, and in a more comfortable, horizontal position. Borealis made a wide loop above the clearing so Zyla and Mikaviel could join them. Zyla had a much different build than Boreas, and Sitara figured she would have and easier time getting out of the trees. 0 players like this post! Like? (Real life has a tendency of making fast roleplays impossible lol. It's good to have a job though! Also...I sound like a scientist in this post XD) Zyla watched the other dragon struggle to exit the forest canopy, suddenly a little unsure of herself. If Borealis had trouble with his slight build, would she face the same difficulties as well? Mika.... She scratched at the ground and huffed to show her anxiety as well as communicate it through their mental link. It's okay, just try it. If we get stuck then the worst that can happen is we sit in a tree and feel stupid. Mika smoothed down her mane feathers. That is the worst that can happen. I won't allow myself to look stupid. Putting her doubts aside, Zyla located a tall pine tree around the edges of the clearing with few but strong branches. When she had reached a sturdy enough bough, she wrapped her body around it and crawled to the edge. Okay, you'd better hold on, she thought to her rider. The next moments were crucial; one wrong move and the both of them would be falling headfirst towards the snowy ground. Tightening her hold on the branch with the very tail end of her body, Zyla unhooked her claws from the wood, lowered herself into a hook shape, swung herself forward to gain momentum...and let go. Within milliseconds, she flattened her body to increase surface area and maximize air resistance, as well as opened her large wings. She began flapping with long, hard downstrokes, and rose towards the spot of sky between the trees. Her body undulated horizontally to help her maneuver, remaining flat for enhanced aerodynamics. After a few more hard flaps (and quite a few scratchy twigs), Zyla and Mika were past the highest leaves and straightening out. Mika shouted in excitement, a quick "Woo!" That's my girl. Zyla sent him a warm, happy feeling in return. Not far in the distance were their traveling companions, who looked like they were already circling back. Mika figured he'd just follow the other dragon, seeing as how they had no way to communicate. Zyla probably could, but it was probably weird to share a mind link with a total stranger. The elf took the opportunity to tighten his cloak and pull his scarf around his face now that they weren't in danger of plummeting to the earth. It was significantly colder in the sky. 0 players like this post! Like? |

((Hahaha, yep, very text-booky in that third and fourth paragraph Charle xD)) ~Borealis~ The white beast spotted the others emerge from the tree tops. The more inexperienced dragon seemed a bit flustered, though obviously relieved that she had gotten out of the trees. Boreas could relate; the first time Sitara had thought to test him the same way, he had considered it impossible to escape from a canopy of trees. He had figured it out by the second try, but he'd ended up with a bruised thigh and ribs. On his shoulders, Boreas felt Thelduin's legs gripping him tightly. It wasn't terribly necessary, but it occurred to him that this so-called Thelduin might have never ridden a smaller dragon before. If he was who Sitara suspected... Well then, he shouldn't complain to loudly. ~Sitara~ They three were just passing Mikaviel and Zyla, who had emerged without incident. For their first time at completing the trick, Sitara had to give them some credit. Now they would see if the other dragoness would be suited for the flight back to the cave. Boreas made steady progress, gaining altitude quickly, so as to minimize being sighted. Not that it was likely in these forests, but you couldn't be too careful. The clouds were wispy and grey, and very cold. Sitara covered Thelduin and herself in a protected barrier of magic, so they wouldn't get soaked from the clouds, or get too cold. As soon as she muttered the spell, Sitara felt the air still around her immediate space. Much better she thought. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 11/08/14 by Celebi ~TMFEoL ~ (#13049) |

(Sorry for being so slow ><) He hadn't expected her dragon to take off so quickly. He took off nearly as soon as the elf had sat down, and Thelduin barely had time to settle himself, aside from hearing the wood elf's voice from be behind him to be careful not to fall. Real nice advice, however as the dragon took off, the sarcasm faded and he was grateful for her advice to hold onto the horn of the saddle. They were flying vertical, or near-vertical it seemed. He couldn't help but grip the horn of the saddle tightly, and wrap his legs as tightly around as much of the dragon's chest as he could. Despite the efforts, it really wasn't much of a relief as they kept crashing into trees. He really hadn't known what to expect flying on a dragon for the first time, well, real flying anyways, but this wasn't a good first impression. Although he had always wondered, he told himself to appreciate flying with Oblaan and the dragon's own style more often. He looked behind to see Mika and Zyla once they were in the air and circling. It looked like they had made it out of the canopy much easier, with Zyla having a thinner, longer, and more flexible build than the wood elf's dragon. He relaxed a bit, however still held onto the dragon in every way he could. While it was definitely colder and wetter up in the clouds, he didn't want to preform any magic. Should this elvish lady be dangerous, it was good if she didn't know what his strengths were. If they were to fight, he'd prefer it to be a surprise rather than her knowing his style of fighting. However, he noticed that she had cast her own magic to keep them all dry, and to keep the wind from lashing at their faces. 0 players like this post! Like? |

((No problem!)) ~Borealis~ His flapping grew rhythmic. The air split in front of him, easily gliding around his stream-lined body. Even with Thelduin's extra weight, he still felt the pleasure of flight. His movements couldn't be as fluid as they were with just Sitara, but his now light heart made him wish the other elf would be able to find the same experience with his own dragon... if he had one. Which reminded Boreas; the only reason Sitara was letting him come was because of his name. Which was why they had to be cautious. The white dragon let out a sigh of frozen breath. How did the High Elf plan on proving who he was? His partner... how would he get to the cave without being noticed? Boreas decided to let the questions drop for now. They would cross those bridges when they came. ~Sitara~ The mountain loomed closer. Boreas was keeping to a slower pace than usual, but they would still make it back in good time. His thoughts came into her mind then, which reminded Sitara of something she planned to do while riding with Thelduin. "You say you're name is Thelduin. And it is important that I know; Are you the Rider of Oblaan?," Sitara said with her usual flat voice. She found herself hoping she wasn't being too straightforward about the issue. It had gotten her in trouble once or twice before. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(I'm going to try and be quicker at getting responses up, this one is even in the same day as Celebi's woooo! o:) This type of flying, real flying, was certainly different. Almost uncomfortable, but the reasoning behind that could be because this saddle was built for only one person, not two tall elves. It might be enjoyable if it were just him in the saddle, but even that didn't get rid of the fact that there was nothing stopping him from plummeting to the world below. Sitara had the leg straps and stirrups, however he couldn't imagine those would do much if she lost her balance. Just a simple mistake of not moving with the dragon as he turned would send him flying down to the earth. He gripped the horn of the saddle tighter than he had been before. If anyone had accused him of being afraid of heights while flying on Oblaan, he would have laughed. But this type of flying was different, definitely different. "Yes, I am," He said in response to her sudden question, but figured it would have been asked eventually. 0 players like this post! Like? |

((once again, i was away for a couple days, but I'm back! i really need to get my own laptop...)) ~Sitara~ To her... well, not exactly relief, but more appreciation, Thelduin's answer was as curt as her question. Sitara was usually very skilled at reading people, and detected no lie, though it was a bit more difficult when she couldn't see his face. Boreas however, was telling her that his heart beat was normal, if not a little fast. He attributed this to his uncertainty of flying. Sitara nodded in response, even though Thelduin couldn't see her. ((should we just fast forward and get to the glacier?) 0 players like this post! Like? |
