Horsetail looked after Snowecho, letting out a sigh the tom shook out his fur. The last droplets of water sprayed for his fur, well at least he was a bit dryer now. Glancing over at Rainpaw, he gave the apprentice a slight nod. The medicine cat saw that there was something wrong with the young she-cat, but before he could go over to her, someone called out his name. The sand colored toms head snapped in the direction of Pebblesplash, what was wrong?
Hurrying over to the she-cat, Horsetail panted. He was still tired from the swim, Horsetail's legs where groning with strain. "What happened?", the tom asked, needing to sit down.

Hawkpaw heard the faint calls of his name being yelled. He opened them slightly again trying to breath. He saw Rainpaw and Stripepaw looking down at him. He didn't know so many cats cared a bout him. He opened his mouth but nothing came out. Just a raspy breath. If this was his destiny then this was his destiny. He could hear shouts from his clan mates. Hawkpaw closed his eyes again, he felt terrible and just wanted the pain to go away.

Stripepaw looked at Rainpaw. The she was scared, just like him. His fear shined in her eyes. He looked back to Hawkpaw. His eyes were slightly opened. Stripepaw put his ear to the tom's chest again. The heart beat was growing even fainter. Stripepaw closed his eyes. 'Please StarClan, spare this tom. He's only 10 Moons. He can't die yet.' Stripepaw prayed opening his eyes and pulling away from the brown tom. He didn't want to bury anyone today.

Spottedpaw starts gasping for air. When will the pain end? She feels her chest tighten. She just barley has enough energy to open her eyes. She felt tired except that she just woke up from a short nap. She sees Stripepaw push a crow toward her. Did he just tell me to eat? She feels her stomach rumble. She tries to lift her head but, she can't. Shes to weak. She feels embarrassed that she can't even eat a little crow. She coughs again this time her whole body convulses. She hears a raspy breath was that Hawkpaw? She suddenly feels anger at StarClan. Why would they do this to her clan? Did they actually mean to kill them?

The medicine cats eyes went to the apprentice, Horsetail's eyes narrowed. Even from here, the tom could see that the young cat was very sick. Getting to his paws, the sand colored tom started to hurriedly walk over to where Rainpaw and Stripepaw were clustered around Hawkpaw. As he walked, the sand colored tom turned to Pebblesplash. With curt words, the tom asked the warrior his questions, "When did he collapse? Has anyone checked, if he has a fever? Has he pucked? Can he breath?"
Horsetail wanted to know what he was going to deal with, before he reached the apprentice. Seeing Mumblepaw, Horsetail hissed to himself. The tom knew that he would regret this decision, changing his course a bit the dark sand colored tom walked to Mumblepaw. "Mumblepaw!", the medicine cat called, to get the apprentices attention. "I know that we have had our differences, but right now... I could.... use a paw", Horsetail said, nodding to Hawkpaw and Spottedpaw. Snowecho had gone off to help Sunstar and Stormberry, the snow white tom would have both paws full taking care of the deputy and leader.

Icepaw wakes up to the sound of a cat coughing. What happened? Why was she not in camp? With a jolt she remembers the fire. She looks up at the sky. "StarClan why would you do this to us?" She gets up and feels a little pain but she starts walking to where she can hear the river. She walks to the river where she takes a small drink. She feels a little better. Where was Snowpaw? She looks around and sees Horsetail. Who was that lying in the ground?

Mumblepaw would stand. He had trust in Stripepaw that he'd take care of Spottedpaw, Hawkpaw as well. As the tom began to walk he would quietly mew to himself. Juniper berries, healing herbs, prey. He repeated to himself. Mumblepaw! Juniper berries, healing herbs, Horsetail. He mewed, then he paused. He didn't need any horsetail though. Horsetail.. Horsetail? He questioned himself, he heard Horsetail call for him. The apprentice turned towards the direction as he began walking towards the cat. I could... use a paw. Those words made Mumblepaw tilt his head. "...Me?" He huffed, looking around. There was nobody else there, he was actually talking to Mumblepaw. He then looked towards were Horsetail nudging his head to. There Mumblepaw saw Spottedpaw and Hawkpaw, who were in even worse conditions then before. "...O-Of course." He stuttered. As much as he wanted to get those herbs, he couldn't leave now.

Pebblesplash was a bit taken pack by all of Horsetail's questions.
"I-i think Rainpaw and Stripepaw have been trying to help him. I just got back from hunting and heard them," she replied nervously. Mumblepaw ran over to help Horsetail. Her tail fluffed up in fear. oh StarClan no! she wailed in her head. The medicine cat and Mumblepaw bent over Hawkpaw, with Stripepaw and Rainpaw standing to the side. She walked over to the other apprentices and watched Horsetail anxiously.

(I'm annoyed, this was so long when I first typed it and then i got timed out and i couldn't recover it, edit from future me: i like this version better than my first go around.)

Her breathing slowly cleared once more as she looked down at Hawkpaw. She nosed his shoulder to rouse him if only for a moment, he couldn't join Starclsn yet! She wouldn't let him. She looked up seeing Pebblesplash call Horsetail over, who, in turn, beckoned Mumblepaw. She could see the slight tension between the two cats, and lashed her tail impatiently, For Starclan's sake, whatever's bothering them, they have to get over it. It's not helping anyone for them to be weird around each other when they have more important things to be doing! She glanced over at Spottedpaw, who was in a similar condition to Hawkpaw, not as bad, but still terrible. Inside she wanted to move them closer together, but she knew if she did, she would only cause more problems. She slowly padded around Hawkpaw to Stripepaw's side to make room for Mumblepaw and Horsetail when they'd come over. She nosed Hawkpaw once more before looking up at Stripepaw, "He'll be okay, right?" She whispered, her voice shook as she asked it, she was scared the worst would happen. Her eyes glazed as she remembered her brother, Breezekit. The last time she'd seen him, he'd been knocked out by a fox who turned to chase her. She wrapped her tail around her, protectively, licking around the scar that the same fox who had killed her brother had inflicted her. "Please don't let him die." She willed Starclan, "Don't let them die." She added, thinking of Spottedpaw. Her wheezing returned with the strain of her fear, and she crouched low, ears flat, under the weight of it all. "Not again..." She mumbled, barely above her breath.

Stripepaw curled his tail around the younger apprentice. "I honestly don't know. He's in StarClan's paws right now. Perhaps they will show some mercy." He looked over to his sister, Spottedpaw. "I hope they spare Spottedpaw as well." He longed to walk over to his sister, but Hawkpaw was in a very bad condition. 'StarClan must have bees in their brain. Trying to kill off, not one, but TWO apprentices.' The striped tom thought.

Rainpaw - 10 Moons - Apprentice - 14/18 - Outside Camp - Mentions: Stripepaw, Hawkpaw (ID), Spottedpaw (ID)

Rainpaw looked up at Stripepaw from her crouch, she could see the sadness in his gaze, and she understood why. His sister and his friend were both in terrible conditions, both cats were fighting for their lives and resisting Starclan's call. She felt a little better now that she was yanked away from the thoughts of her brother. Her ears stood up again, but she stayed in a crouch, lifting her tail and resting it against Stripepaw to comfort him back. "I hope Starclan saves both of them, too." Her voice still shook with fear, but now it wasn't laced with memories of her brother. So many cats would be devastated if either of the two apprentices died. Rainpaw closed her eyes for a moment and sent a silent prayer to Starclan to help Hawkpaw and Spottedpaw.

Pebblesplash glanced over at Rainpaw, who was crouching- probably from her cough-, and Stripepaw, who was looking at Hawkpaw and Spottedpaw was sadness and pain in his eyes. Her heart thudded in her chest. She didn't know what to say. She kneaded the ground - a bad habit of hers- in worry. She saw Rainpaw with her eyes closed.
"Rainpaw? Are you alright? I mean apart from the obvious..." she trailed off, feeling awkward.

Rainpaw shook herself and sat down, looking around. She heard someone say her name and it drew her from her thoughts again. Her eyes landed on Pebblesplash, who was looked at her in worry. "Y-Yes." She said, catching her breath. "Whatever's up with me isn't as important as..." She paused, half to search for the right words, half to catch her breath again. "It isn't as important as them." She flicked her tail in the general direction of Spottedpaw while glancing at Hawkpaw. Rainpaw looked back at Pebblesplash and pressed her claws into the soil once more. "It's just that... It isn't fair." She whined, what could Starclan possibly want more from them in Starclan rather than in their own clan? "It's not right." She whispered again. Her grief for the apprentices' conditions calmed down her usually hyperactive self, she guessed that some cats may think she was worse than she actually was because of that. "I know I can be an annoying furball sometimes," she chuckled sadly, "but I don't want to get under anyone's fur right now." her eyes glittered with temporarily forgotten mischief, however it was only for a moment. Nobody needed any extra drama in their lives, currently, and Rainpaw understood that.

Stripepaw closed his eyes lost in thought. "Not again, don't take my sibling away from me again. I won't let you." He whispered softly opening his eyes. He looked to Rainpaw. "We are all down right now. So many cats will get hurt from StarClan's anger. They struck three cats with lightning. Two cats were burned and might die. I might not be friends with Hawkpaw but I don't want to see the tom die. Spottedpaw is my sister so I obviously don't want her to die either. Why is StarClan doing this." He hissed sheathing and unsheathing his claws.
