Horsetail let out a sigh, setting down the herbs in his mouth, the medicine cat stretched. Inspecting his pile, the tom had a somewhat happy smile on his face. If anyone needed anything, he would definitely be able to help now. With his paws, the tom started to spread the herbs out. He just needed to check, if there where any weeds mixed in with the pile. Absentmindedly, the tom scratched his ear and stuck a large sage leaf behind it. The dark sand colored tom gave a small nod, he had many herbs and barely any weeds mixed in the pile. The toms head turned up, as the sounds of battle came across to him. Horsetail let out a sigh, he'd almost forgotten.

Lioncould had decided to walk over to a nice warm and sunny spot, as all of his other clan mates went about their work. The old tom was confused, as to what he should do. Was he still an elder or leader now? Would he be expected to make big decisions? Lioncloud let out a sigh. His sides moved up and down as he did so. The old temporary leaders long fur was splayed out around him, as he lay in the sun. His eyes were closed, as he was trying to relax and wrap his head around the fact that he was incharge. Never had he wanted to be leader, especially now that he was old.
Lionclouds eyes snapped open, as the sounds of a comotion reached his ears. What? Sitting up, the old cat looked round. His breath caught in his throat, as his eyes fell on the injured Hawkpaw. The old tom quickly got to his paws, well as fast as his old body could move that is. At first the old tom was walking over to the injured apprentice, but decided against it before he reached them. Lioncloud would probably only be in the way. Looking around, the old tom's eyes fell on Earthquake and Pebblesplash talking beside the river. The she-cat looked very shaken, did she know what happened to Hawkpaw. The old tom angled his pace, so that he would walk to them.
As Lioncloud reached the Pebblesplash and Earthquake, the old tom caught the last of the she-cats words. A dog had done this? The leader thought, worry flowing through his body. "It's going to be alright", Lioncloud told his grand daughter, as he stopped next to his son. What was happening?
His ears perked up, as a call from the medicine cat station reached him. Looking over, the leader spotted Lyxpaw asking for help. Giving Earthquake a nod, Lioncloud knew that he could trust his son to deal with this matter on his own, the old calico tom turned on his heels and headed for the medicine cat stations. "What do you need?", the large tom asked, looking down at the apprentices. Hawkpaw looked bad, he was still bleeding out. They would need cobwebs for sure.

The old leader nodded his head, at the medicine cat apprentices directions. "I'll go then", Lioncloud said, turning and quickly heading out. His large paws drumbed on the ground, as the co-leader ran beside the river. Heading up stream, Lioncloud soon spotter the tree. Turning away from the river, Lioncloud came up to the tree and stopped below it.
Looking up the tree, he was glad that he would need dried leaves and not green ones. Looking to his paws, the old calico tom reached down and started to gather the leaves in a pile. After a few moments the pile was big enough, Lioncloud wrapped his jaw around the pile. He was a big tom, almost a good head taller than most, so since his entire mouth was filled, the pile was quite large. The old calico hoped that this would be more than enough.
Turning around, Lioncloud headed back. His paws instinctively knew the way back to the temporary camp, as the word temporary came to his mind, the temporary leaders thoughts wandered. Maybe, he could take some cats out later, to go and check on their old camp. Maybe the clan could rebuild it. Before he knew it, Lioncloud had made it back to the temporary camp.
Walking over to the medicine cat station, Lioncloud placed the leaves next to Lynxpaw. As he dropped the leaves, one of them tickled his nose. Lioncloud sneezed. "Here, hope this is enough."

"Thanks", Lioncloud said, nodding his head to the medicine cats bless you. Stepping back, the old calico tom watched as Rainpaw and Lynxpaw worked on Hawkpaws wounds. The old tom could never have done this, he always became to jittery, when someone was getting treated. Looking around, the leader was about to walk back over to his kin, when Softsong came almost running over. The old tom waited patiently for the young warrior to ask his question. Nodding over his shoulder, Lioncloud drew the young warriors attention to the injured apprentice. Simply summing it up, Lioncloud said, "A dog attacked Hawkpaw, I believe Pebblesplash was with her apprentice when it happened." Looking back to Softsong, Lioncloud let out a sigh. "I'm heading back to Pebblesplash and Earthquake, to see if they've come up with a plan already, as to how to deal with this situation", the old temporary leader said, nodding his head to his kin, standing beside the river.
