"Oh my, sorry, yes, of course you can come. We're just going to look for squirrels and mice; if you catch any, I'll vouch for the both of you to your mentors." She smiles, taking the lead of her new troop and walks into the woods, being careful already not to step on any crunchy twigs.

Snowpaw walks quietly behind Shrewflight. She looks down to avoid dead crunchy leaves and twing and or sticks. She lifts her head in the air. she opens her mouth to taste the air. "I smell some mouse." She notes, her voice soft and quiet. She smells some more. "A rabbit was here a while ago. Old fox stench. Maybe a day or two old." She whispers. She smells once more. "A mouse is over there." She says looking at a bush and dropping in a hunting crouch

"You're very astute. Whoever is teaching you is doing very well. This mouse is all yours, I just want to watch your technique." Shrew looks over at Softpaw to make sure they're keeping quiet before giving half of her attention to Snowpaw's hunt, and the other half to that fox stench.

Softpaw brightened as he got permission to join, padding quietly behind Snowpaw and Shrewflight. He once again came to value his paws, they made it so easy to stay quiet. He opened his mouth to scent the air as well, picking up the scents as Snowpaw described them. "I could probably catch the rabbit if I followed its scent." He mentioned. After all, he had WindClan blood and legs. His mother had been the former leader of WindClan before the Clans got united. "Wait, I can just try to track another mouse." He mewed, remembering that Shrewflight had only said squirrels and mice. With that he also remembered that she said she would put in a good word with their mentors. His heart skipped a beat. Sure he wanted to be done with his training, but he still had lingering doubts about warrior life after all the tragedy that had befallen them on such short notice. He quieted down as Shrewflight gave Snowpaw the opportunity to hunt the mouse. He hoped his few comments earlier had not ruined anything.

Snowpaw smiled at Shrewflight. She felt proud. She got close to the ground. She can almost see her self pouncing on the mouse. She takes a soft breath in very quietly. She waits till the mouse okes it's head out of the bush. Snowpaw leaps. She pushes off her back legs and lands on the mouse. She bites it on the neck killing it quickly. She buries the mouse for later.

Stormberry tried hard not to remember the last time he had purposefully gone into the river, it was a painful memory, and he didn't like thinking about it. "No, you shouldn't have. I can't stay angry at you though, you know that." He mewed softly, brushing close to Snowecho as they approached camp. He nodded a bit at what the medicine cat said, and puffed up his fur a bit when he mentioned Sunstar. "I know we are...I didn't know how to tell you, considering everything we've been through in the past.." He trailed off, avoiding eye contact with the other tom. "I need to set up some patrols maybe and take Swallowpaw out training. We can talk about this later." He added, looking over at Snowecho with an unreadable expression before padding hurriedly through the camp entrance.

Shrew smiles and thumps her paw on the ground in happiness for the younger cat. "Good job! You did so well!" She turns to Softpaw and nods. "Sure, but let's go as a group until the scent is stronger; I don't want you two going off on your own and getting hurt by that fox that's wandering around." She flexed her claws into the dirt, yearning to feel a good run; Windclan genes are hard to kick, she thought.

"Yeah, stick together." She reapets nodding her head. It felt so good to hunt again. "And thanks." She says looking at Shrewflight kindly. Her blue and green eyes sparkling. She secretly hoped her scar didn't look to obvious. She hated her scar. She looks at the kind warrior. "Thanks for letting me hunt with you." She says sweetly. She looks up. The trees look so beautiful, she thinks.

And, hey," She pokes at her own scar on her neck, a jagged and horribly deep line, and winks. "I can see that little scar by your eye. You aren't alone, kid. Scar Club for life."

Foxflame had been minding his own business, quietly listening the the conversations of those around him. Upon hearing Shrewflight comment on a fox wandering around, Foxflame laughed. After thinking a bit, he padded over to the group.

"Mmm, by 'fox' you wouldn't happen to mean me, would you?" Foxflame teased. He smiled gingerly. "Still, you are correct. Foxes are indeed dangerous. Though I wonder what that says about me?" Foxflame grinned yet another malicious grin. He looked at the group. "Well, I seem to have nothing better to do. Does anyone object to my coming along? I'll not slow you down, unless my face is so captivating," he teased again.

Shrewflight's ears perked up in surprise at the other adult; as arrogant as he seemed to be, he would be very helpful to have along, and he didn't seem bad at all. She smiled at him, her tail curling a little.
"You can come with us if you'd like; I welcome the extra protection and extra hunting power. Besides, if what they say is true...foxes avoid each other if there's a pack to one ratio." Shrew snorts at her own horrible joke, quite pleased.

Snowecho nuzzled at Stormberry a little as they walked back towards camp together. "I know, I can't stay angry at you either." He assured. He felt his heart sink a little as camp came into view. He watched the deputy walk through the camp entrance, padding in shortly after him. He saw Stripepaw sitting in camp, wondering briefly what he was up to before padding into the medicine cat den.

Softpaw sat up a little as he saw Snowpaw catch the mouse, feeling a weird pride of her as he watched her bury the little mouse. He had always noticed the scar, but being reminded of fighting always chimed a sour bell with him. "Think we can get the chance to go after a rabbit?" He asked Shrewflight, hoping for a positive answer. He felt like showing off his speed. Flicking a ear, he glanced back when he heard the familiar voice of Foxflame. He had always been fond of the silvery-white tom, adoring him and the way he spoke. "The only captivating face that'll slow us down is mine." He purred teasingly, shaking his head a little, as if to show off. He let out a soft snicker at Shrewflight's joke.
