We are aware of some issues that the community has been voicing with the raffle lioness system, with some complaints including it being difficult to pass on raffle-exclusive traits, raffle lionesses going to inactive accounts, and so on. We have had our own discussion among the developers and would now like to present a discussion where the community can provide feedback on the ideas we have outlined below regarding how the system can be modified, and possibly even give their own ideas if they aren't already covered. We will be closely monitoring this topic to record feedback, which we will then use for an upcoming site poll.

i like options 1, 4 and 5 a lot. clone or similar studs are also an appealing idea, but as a newer player who has nevertheless sunk a large amount of time into this game and plans to continue i am not a fan of excluding accounts who have played for less than a year's worth of rollovers. of course i am not familiar with the statistics and which time-spent-playing demographic is the most likely to just quit suddenly. personally, the longer i have spent on a game the more likely i am to get bored and leave, and i think the unlikely odds of winning a raffle lioness is one of the exciting incentives to keep playing. perhaps a shorter period of 3-6 months would be better, if there is no other way to measure engagement with the game. if rollovers are consistent i would also not count how frequent they are; i am sure plenty of players who love the game don't have the time to play daily. thank you for being so engaged with the playerbase and hearing out our feedback. 1 player likes this post! i dont like the idea of having chased lionesses like i have a life out side of lioden, i cant sit for 10 hours and try to grind for a chance at a chased rl. its very money based, and you know that people will be buying up energy boosts and all that to have a chance for her. there are people in the lioden commuity that have infinite resources, 8 players like this post! So most workable I think would be options 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. Options 2 and 3 are my favorite and most ideal, because on the one hand yes you want traits to get out but on the other hand we don't want to completely devalue the raffle lioness (I don't mean financially, necessarily, more how special it is to win one). Raffle studs have always been the main suggestion irt to this when people talk about it. Options 5-7 are basically nice bonus options that could come into effect maybe quarterly rather than every week? Just as mini special hype events, but I'm not sure how much I love them as weekly options. Love love love options 2 & 3, we really need raffle studs! 2 players like this post! Like? |

Wow! Thank you for listening to the community and opening this up to discussion. My thread has talked about 2,3,4,5, and 6, but I really think that 7 is interesting and I think that the first one is extremely interesting. I want to point out, once again, for when people initially push back, that I played this game when there were maybe 1500 people MAX trying to claim a lionesses. It is NOT like that anymore. My forum topic has beaten some of my desire to discuss this openly into the ground, so I hope it's okay if I just leave my thoughts and not defend them. If someone's interested in replying to me, I may or may not respond. For idea 1: This would be a fantastic way to get markings into the community. I think that this is a really good way to end the whole discussion of "raffle lionesses are a really bad way to spread markings in this day and age" because it would definitely get those marks out there. I think that the biggest con I see is that players are going to push back and say that it will devalue raffle lionesses. I'm inclined to agree with them, sure, but it does seem like it's going to be a rare enough occurrence that it will still be special. I want to push back a little on the average idea for claiming said lions because there isn't enough incentive for dreamboats in the first place. I do think that it should be restricted to dreamboats. Idea 1 is one of the best ways to distribute raffle lioness markings, but I do think that it's going to be the one to see the most push back. I can see a lot of people saying it will totally tank the market that has been created. Concept to tweak it: release that lionesses special markings that week on lions instead of her whole design. For example, on Friday pull the raffle lioness. Let's say she had vitiligo slots 1-10 in markings 1-10. You have a chance to find a lioness with vitiligo 1 in slot 1 while exploring, or vit 3 in slot 3 while exploring, and so on. The lionesses will be trickled through, people can try to make clones via breeding if desired, and the markings will spread efficiently. This will be a good middle ground to continue to have the rare raffle lioness while still letting those marks go, will incentivize dreamboat lionesses, and incentivize exploring for lionesses. I've talked about idea 2, 3, and 4. I think that they're a very fair way to be able to make it fairer to the community at large considering just how much this site has grown in the past few years. I know some people might say that it cheapens the raffle lioness experience, but we truly have hit a point of growth that this system was not designed for, and I think that saying "we should keep doing it this way because it's always been done this way" is not the way to go. I ADORE 5. I didn't know I would until I saw it. There are a group of people that try to breed those raffle lionesses back to life though, so I don't want to step on their toes and talk over them. I'm interested to hear from them! I'm not sure if 6 is a great way to solve the problem since you still have just one raffle lioness in the end. Yes, the odds are better, but now it's become more a chore to remember to put in your extra ticket. The odds will still be terrible, though. 7 I'm on the fence about. I'm a player that has been playing since 2015 and I haven't taken a break... ever. I pretty much log in every day, and have the entire time I've been here. That being said, I'm not sure if it necessarily rewards you to get a CHANCE at a raffle lioness when 365 is SUCH a big number. I mean, you'd certainly make the raffle lionesses more valuable, but... oh God, you know? To sum up, I want to put some things in perspective when it comes to this. I've said it 100 times, the raffle lionesses used to be about a 1 in 1000 chance. Now they're about a 1 in 10000 chance. That is... a very large difference. VERY. Your odds of getting struck by lightning are 1 in 15000. Getting a raffle lioness is a little better than getting struck by lightning. If you think that having multiple raffle lionesses will bring down the value... Maybe. A little. But now you have a better chance of owning an ORIGINAL one with no heritage, which will still be worth oodles. On top of that, there's already tons of clones out there. That's what the crunchy worm is for. Every single first generation hybrid (except jaglions cough cough) has been born the same. Every single one of them goes for 1000+ GB. Raffle lionesses will still be worth something, even if there's 3 or 4 released. 7 players like this post! Like? |

Mainly I’m not a big fan of 1 and 5 1. 10 seems like too many right off the bat and their value would tank pretty quickly, but I like the idea so maybe lower it to 3-5 rls? Idk what to think on the studs tbh For 5 id love to see some of the older lady’s come back but Ik recently many ppl have made projects of reviving rls and even if they could still revive lady’s that just never cloned and died there are lots on deleted accounts to choose from. Not a fan of 6-7 4 is a bit iffy, maybe if there was the regular rl and then if she has any new traits there could be 1-2 other girls released with those traits? 0 players like this post! Like? |

I love the chased concept. I find claiming to be a bit boring as the lionesses available rarely are worth the energy. But this would add a good motivator to claiming. 0 players like this post! Like? |

The raffle lioness system has been an issue for a long time. I'm not really too interested in raffle lionesses myself as someone who cares about rare breed-only features, and breed-only features on raffle lionesses tend to get common fast; however, I do know that the system has been in desperate need of updating for years. I personally think the raffle stud seems like the most fair option for everyone though. Releasing a raffle lioness in explore could allow people who have lots of GB to just buy energy boosts to be able to claim the raffle lioness; I feel like that kinda limits smaller accounts to have significantly less chance to be able to claim one, versus someone who has a hoard of GB. I also feel like the 365 rollovers limit is too much and not inclusive enough; maybe that could be lowered to like 100-150 rollovers to be a bit more fair? I'm also really disappointed that an implemented feature is going to be that the raffle lioness has to be impressed from Wednesdays onward now though. That's really unfair to those of us who play on certain days of the week (like the weekends) during certain months for whatever reason... Currently I'm rolling over on this account on Mondays in August for example; that means I will never be able to get a raffle lioness during this month, or any other month that I don't roll on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday for that matter. I've been playing for 9 1/2 years and have never won a raffle lioness yet, but now my chances of winning are significantly more slim :/ edIt: I see that the Wednesday rollover has been changed to may be implemented. Please, please, do not implement that, I think that the once weekly rollover should suffice :( I think an email to the winner is a wonderful idea though and I'm wondering why it wasn't already implemented lol 10 players like this post! I like the idea of adding a second reffle girl for players for have 365 rollovers or more, but I think y'all should keep the one everyone at dreamboat can impress. I also love the idea of the raffle studs and chased raffle girls! 0 players like this post! Like? |

I posted an idea for raffle studs that was sadly locked before it even got a chance to spread. However I do still believe in it as a way to mitigate current issues with the Raffle Lioness system so I will be re-describing it here! Hello people of lioden! I am sure many if not all of you reading this are aware of the Raffle Lioness system. Now, I love the raffle lionesses as much as the next person, but I and many others have noticed a problem. Lioden has significantly more players now than when it and Raffle Lionesses as a system of spreading marking slots was created. This is not a bad thing! However, it can be disastrous when a raffle lioness simply fails to pass rare or new traits onto cubs or, heaven forbid, ends up on a dead account. So what is the solution? I propose an idea that is not new, but that I and my clanmates in the Lioden Conservatory have begun to flesh out in more detail: Raffle Studs Raffle Studs as we would propose them would operate similar to how Maneater Studs work in August. One Raffle Stud every two weeks would become available to breed to for a price. The stud in question would have traits that are a mix of the current Raffle Lioness and a random Raffle Lioness from the past! This would help to maintain the value of the current Raffle Lioness at any given time as well as present a more convenient means of helping out critically endangered traits. Raffle Studs would be Rare/Uncommon based as well, both to give these bases some more appreciation as well as to again maintain the “special” quality of the week’s Raffle Liones. On weeks when the Raffle Lioness has a combo base, the complementary Raffle Stud would then have one of the combo factors (as long as it is Rare/Uncommon) as its base! (Thank you CC/438339 for suggesting the stud be swapped every two weeks!) Similar to the Raffle Lioness the Raffle Stud could have a mutation, with Piebalds/Patches/Primals (except Primal Fang) excluded. Additionally, Raffle Studs would have old raffle backgrounds just for fun. Nobody is winning the Raffle Stud so these backgrounds are purely for aesthetics. Now you may be wondering what exactly the “price” would be to breed to the proposed Raffle Stud. Well, the method my colleagues and I have tentatively settled on are quests determined by the personality of the Raffle Stud. Depending on which personality the stud has, lioden players would be given a quest to complete in order to breed to the handsome fellow. This would give more uses to items currently used exclusively for crafting as well as mitigate potential mass-breeding. Some examples of quests are as follows: Evil (Heartless): “This absolute STUD is not interested in meeting with the weak. Bring 50 Lion Skulls to prove your strength!” Good (Humble): “ This absolute STUD is too focused on building new dens for his pride. What a helpful guy. Bring 20 Large Rocks and 20 Large Leaves to catch his attention!” Snarky (Arrogant): “This absolute STUD would like to adorn himself with beautiful gems. Bring him 25 Gem: Celestite and he might consider giving you the time of day!” Disclaimer for this one that the gem type could obviously rotate at random, giving out of season Gems another purpose besides rotting in your hoard Kind (Candid): “This absolute STUD seems to be rather hungry. He tells you the truth that he isn’t all that great of a hunter. Bring him 30 Zebra Carcasses to help him out!” Again the type of carcass would be variable as with gems Of course, the actual amounts and types of items required would be up to the fine people who run Lioden according to whatever level of difficulty they deem appropriate. But, these give the general idea. 10 players like this post! Like? Edited on 05/08/24 @ 09:23:33 by Coffeekita [G2 Lilac 8 BO ] (#308641) |

Regarding the first option: Several people brought uo that some designs look too "boring" and like regular NCLs. I suggest giving Raffle Lionesses in Explore the Good or Evil personalities so they flag as "chased"/not regular NCL immediately, and don't get skipped by people who otherwise wouldn't recognize the design as "raffle" 2 players like this post! the raffle studs is absolutely my most favorite out of these ideas, because it is a necessity with a growing playerbase like liodens. the purpose of the raffle lioness is to spread new traits into the game, and currently the rl feature is not doing what its meant to do. raffle studs would allow for the better spread of traits, and they wouldnt have ot be copies of the rl, but rather with partial traits similar to the august maneater studs -- which have other markings besides new bo marks. 4 players like this post!
