We are aware of some issues that the community has been voicing with the raffle lioness system, with some complaints including it being difficult to pass on raffle-exclusive traits, raffle lionesses going to inactive accounts, and so on. We have had our own discussion among the developers and would now like to present a discussion where the community can provide feedback on the ideas we have outlined below regarding how the system can be modified, and possibly even give their own ideas if they aren't already covered.

We will be closely monitoring this topic to record feedback, which we will then use for an upcoming site poll.


New Features Being Implemented

We have some features that will be added regardless of feedback within a future update:

* Adjusting the raffle lioness system so that only players who have been active in the last two days (so Wednesdays onward) will have a chance to win when the raffle lioness is pulled
* Sending an email notification to the player who won the weekly raffle lioness


New Features We're Considering/Discussing

These are features we have had ideas for, or have found in the Game Development forums, and would like to see which of the following would be most preferred.

** 1. Storing raffle lioness designs and releasing them slowly through explore.
Essentially, this would mean creating multiple copies of the same raffle lioness to be slow-dripped into the game through the claiming system. They would work as chased lionesses, so only kings with Average impression or higher could find them. This would likely come with a failsafe so that if the lioness fails to be claimed, she goes back into the chased pool so another player has a chance to claim her. All raffle lionesses are made with the Nurturing (Good) personality, so raffle lionesses released through the claiming system would display the Good pose.

The first week, Raffle Lioness 1 is pulled and sent to the winner, and Raffle Lioness 2 is put up to be impressed. The second week, Raffle Lioness 2 is pulled and sent to the winner, Raffle Lioness 3 is put up to be impressed, and a clone of Raffle Lioness 1 is put into the chased lioness pool in explore. The third week, Raffle Lioness 3 is pulled and sent to the winner, Raffle Lioness 4 is put up to be impressed, and clones of Raffle Lionesses 1 and 2 are put into the chased pool in explore. This repeats up to a maximum of 9 clones, making for 10 total lionesses with the same design.

** 2. Releasing an identical replica raffle stud alongside a raffle lioness.
The stud would have the exact same traits as the raffle lioness, but rather than being delivered to a winner's territory, a select amount of players (between 20-50) would win the ability to breed with him. This would work similarly to August's event studs in that items could not be used on the stud for breeding. We also considered, if implementing replica studs, to allow all players to enter for a chance to win a stud breeding, but lock weekly raffle lionesses so that only accounts that have 365 or more total rollovers (not consecutive) would be eligible to try and impress her.


** 3. Implementing raffle studs in general.
An alternative to releasing an identical replica raffle stud would be releasing a raffle stud alongside a raffle lioness who may share similar traits, e.g. if a raffle lioness is releasing a brand new eye colour, the raffle stud that week would have that eye colour as well, or if she is releasing a brand new raffle marking, the raffle stud that week would have that marking as well (either in the same slot, or a different slot). Breedings to this stud would also be limited to 20-50 players weekly, and items would not be allowed. This would also come with all players being able to enter for a chance to win a stud breeding, but locking weekly raffle lionesses so that only accounts that have 365 or more total rollovers (not consecutive) would be eligible to try and impress her.


** 4. Releasing more than one raffle lioness per week.
This would either be multiple identical copies of the same raffle lioness, or up to 3 different raffle lionesses at once who would share some of the same traits, but not be identical.


** 5. Releasing recreated copies of previous raffle lionesses who are on banned/closed accounts.
This would be making a replica of the raffle lioness to raffle off through the official raffle system. The original raffle lioness would stay on the same account. This is specifically only for permanently suspended accounts, and accounts that have been closed—not inactive accounts that are not suspended/closed.


** 6. Allow the weekly raffle lioness to be impressed daily instead of once weekly for higher chances of winning, therefore rewarding more active players.
The weekly raffle lioness would still be available for a full week as usual, but daily impression attempts will add up and give a greater chance at winning her as compared to only one attempt per week (how it currently works).


** 7. Add a second raffle lioness for players who have rolled over at least 365 times in total (not consecutively), with potentially more unique traits than a standard Dreamboat raffle lioness.
Players who have rolled over 365 or more times would have the ability to impress both the standard Dreamboat raffle lioness, as well as a second raffle lioness that is only available to accounts with 365+ total rollovers.





We may mix-and-match some of the options, but we will be polling the community on these options regardless.

By this releasing old lines, you mean just banned accounts? Because a lot of inactive accounts can be freezers for their rl, and are not actually inactive players

I'm a big fan of the raffle studs alongside the RL. The August studs work really well to get new traits into the game, but by limiting it to a few dozen people, the cubs from the stud are still special.

I also like the idea of having something specific for players who have 365+ ROs as it is a good way to reward longtime players and mitigate the issue of RLs getting stuck in accounts that will never be rolled again.

As for the NCL idea, the more I think about it, the more it is growing on me. I do understand the concern that players may not recognize her as an RL and skip or fail the claim, but if she just goes back into the chased pool after a failed claim, it's a non issue on that front. Perhaps waiting a month or two after the original RL is released would be better than a few weeks though.

I did have an thought for the RL idea. I see the idea for having the RL have either the good or evil pose to make it obvious that she is an RL, which is a great idea, but what if it were something even more obvious? For example, maybe there could be a small symbol (a colorful star or asterisk or the like) or a line of text saying 'It appears as though this lioness is special in some way...' or something along those lines in order to alert the player that this is a lioness worth claiming. Even better if the text is bolded and in a color that stands out!

First idea sounds wonderful, 2d and 3rd are interesting with studs, but i do not understand why I need to have a year of rollovers -- If Im quite busy and like visit twice-trice a week this game when it will be quite hard to participate in a raffle. You say that you wish to raise chances for active players to get RL, and I do not think that 365 days rollovers are a great number to count as activity, cause after a full year of rollovers (which idk how you would even track) you could just dissapear any moment due to tiring of game or etc.
Fourth week sounds fair only if there are all raffled lionesses are the same. Would not feel like you missing something.
Fifth is an amazing idea. It would be so lovely to have all beautiful lionesses back!
Seven sounds like a terrible, not rewarding idea. I do not feel like this type of insane exclusivness should be on any platform. I want to chill, not grind 365 days. It's okay if its just the same lioness, rather than havibg something even more exclusive.
6th sounds possible, though idk how it would be implemented and work, so no opinion.

Idk maybe I do not understand everything and how it works, but there is my opinion and feelings about these solutions! Lovely news

I like the idea of releasing RL copies as chased lionesses in explore. Would be really fun to spice up encountering chased lionesses in explore. Could also be fun to not only release new RLs this way, but to maybe reuse old RL designs? If not overdone it wouldn't hurt the RL clone market much and could help bring life back to some of those really nice older designs/help revive them (though to be fair I am also for anything that discourages private lines of a specific design; a specific lion can have a private line, but I think designs in general should be fair game (and I also understand I am in the minority on this)). I also like Mad Hyena's suggestion above at these lionesses in explore only being findable by people who have entered the raffle.

I like the idea of raffle studs (like how WD has) a whole lot, and if only one system needs to be picked, that would be my choice. Although since LD has a much larger player base, maybe allowing a few more winners each week, especially as each breeding to a stud is not guaranteed to pass on any of the raffle specific traits? As well, a raffle stud alongside a raffle lioness could be nice, as that way at least one player is guaranteed to win and get that exact design on a lion, while other winners just get a chance to breed to one of the boys and a chance (but not gaurantee) to get some of the traits.

I don't like the idea of winners having to have been active from Wednesday, though; it's such a short time frame, plenty of players only access the game on the weekends, and it would suck to miss out on possibly winning a raffle lioness (or breeding to a stud) just because you got sick and couldn't get on LD for a few days. I think a week of activity (having had to be active the previous Friday to actually enter the raffle in the first place) is well enough, and while it sucks that sometimes the person who entered and won doesn't log in again for a while, sometimes that is stuff that cannot be helped and will happen at some point regardless of the system used. Someone getting a RL but then not logging in again for a long while isn't much different to a person who wins and then keeps that RL line completely private. vOv

Also not super fond of restricting anything to players who have a years worth of ROs. That's a lot, and I think is more discouraging than anything. I can understand not wanting a RL to go to someone who is so brand new that they lose interest in the game a week after they win the RL, but I don't think there's any need for someone to have to have a whole year's worth of ROs just to show that they are active. Maybe somewhere in the 3-6 month range instead?

Good on you guys for considering changes to the RL system! Hopefully whatever the decision ends up being, everyone will enjoy it. :D

I just wanted to clear up about #5, it specifically refers to banned or closed accounts. These would be raffle lionesses who are on permanently suspended accounts, or accounts that have been closed and can never be accessed again. The intention was not to re-release raffle lionesses on inactive accounts, as being inactive is very different from being permanently suspended or having your account closed. I'll make this more clear in the news post!

The news post has also already been edited to clarify the 365+ rollovers to mean the total amount of rollovers your account has completed. These do not need to be 365+ consecutive rollovers.

mmm not a fan of this, feels unfair to those with busy schedules, or just cant hop on for other reasons
also dont enjoy the explore/chased idea, kinda defeats the point of having them raffled if you have a chance to find them later on.

i do really enjoy raffles studs and having multiple RLs per week

AGREES:

#5 giving those lions a second chance is fantastic

#4 could work on occasion but not a every week deal. Maybe once per month or per 6 months. And have it be 2 unique lionesses that way the raffle lioness still feels unique and “special” to their owners

#3 i think works pretty well but i disgree with the 365 days rolling over since some need to not roll either to take a good mind break and breather from the game or for certain projects!

Disagrees:

#1. Chasing the lion and rotating it out beats the purpose of the lioness being “a special lioness” and looses the unique factor. A alternative is maybe releasing chased lionesses qith the unique new traits!

#2 same idea makes the lioness feel less special. Maybe a MRLC or a altered version of said lion with similar traits but less BO or a non BO base could work instead.

#7 plays into the same points as the first two. Makes the lioness less special and people need to sometimes not roll over for reasons

The chased pool option becomes VERY pay to win very fast. People with more gb or sb can just spam buy energy boosts, lambs and catnip for a better chance at the rl

I think adding a raffle stud that shares the traits of the weeks lioness but is raffled off for breedings each day of the week is a good solution to the problem as it allows for the traits to enter the breeding pool quicker and it helps create hype (kinda) 😸

as someone who plays lioden since 2012 and never won a RL it sounds cool. but at the same thime, raffle lions/clones will lose HUGE value and uniqueness with these features.
so yeah something in me says cool, but on the otherhand its maby a bit to much with the claiming and over and over re-releasing of raffle lionesses.

as for the you must be active 2days/after/before impressing is unfair, lots of players cant roll multiple times a day and try thier best to roll once a week to claim.
then taking away thier change sounds very unfair to me.
once your impressed her *and spend currency on it* its not fair to take away the change to win *wich already is extreamly low*

unique RL studs does sound like a cool idea

not keen on the explore rl thing at all ngl it just feels contrived? and as others said people with money to burn on gb are going to have a big advantage over those who don't and that's unfair.

i really hope we get raffle studs though!
