-LOCKED - Discussion: Raffle Lionesses | |
Posted on 2024-08-05 08:57:00
We are aware of some issues that the community has been voicing with the raffle lioness system, with some complaints including it being difficult to pass on raffle-exclusive traits, raffle lionesses going to inactive accounts, and so on. We have had our own discussion among the developers and would now like to present a discussion where the community can provide feedback on the ideas we have outlined below regarding how the system can be modified, and possibly even give their own ideas if they aren't already covered. We will be closely monitoring this topic to record feedback, which we will then use for an upcoming site poll.

(A suggestion) You guys could add a pending system, where the user gets a request/message to accept the lioness (similar to studs) where they would have 1-2 weeks to accept the raffle lioness. And if they don't then it goes to the runner up (2nd place of the raffle) or a new name is drawed. So this can give users time to accept if they're inactive for shorter periods of time, rather then the accounts who are permanently inactive. 13 players like this post! Like? |

Honestly I think all of these would be amazing things to add. Specifically with emailing the winner of the raffle lioness. I am really excited to see all of these implemented! You guys are doing amazing! 0 players like this post! Like? |

I like options 1 and 4 the most. I think that they give more players the chance to get cool lions and for those traits to be passed on Raffle studs would also be really cool, but I don't like any of the options that involve locking features behind an absurdly high number of rollovers. Keeping something out of reach for new players for so long would be discouraging, and I don't think it would motivate them to keep playing. I'm not sure how to put it other than that the vibes of that are a bummer. Might add more later if I think of anything, but overall I think there are some good options here! Thank you for all the work and thought you put into this. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 05/08/24 @ 09:57:44 by Time (#452216) |

I like the idea of the chases lionesses and raffle studs a lot, but the last two ideas of multiple raffle lionesses or a second 365+ lioness just sounds like a bad idea. I could see people calling one the “basic RL” and the other the “Exclusive RL” and inflating prices for rlcs if they’re the “exclusive lioness” I think the studs should have something done to make winning the slot an actual prize, because BO features have an abysmal pass rate. Even most kings give way more potatoes than decent cubs. Imagine being one of 25 players to win a stud slot; you get one cub and it has a common brown base and one mark. That would SUCK 0 players like this post! Like? |

I’m glad to hear of the new features being implemented! The activity requirement has been badly needed I would be in favor of proposed features 1, 4, and 5 I don’t think the raffle studs need to be a thing, as we already have raffle studs as part of an event. Simply adding more opportunities for receiving the raffle lionesses while ensuring they go to active accounts is good enough, I think. The main draw of RLs is cloning them, and markings mainly get disseminated through the kinging of some of those clones. The problem is mainly the extreme rarity / unavailability of the RLs, not the user base’s ability to spread marks. Official studs might make the markings too abundant and disrupt the market. Addendum: I don’t think #1 should be implemented for all RLs, only re-releases of extinct / inactivity-locked ones. Instead of re-releasing as part of the official raffle, they should be claimable in explore. However, I could be convinced on #3. As I said, I don’t like the exact copy studs idea, but unique or similar studs could be interesting! Especially since males cannot be cloned, I think a lot of people would take it as a challenge to recreate them, as some do with the Maneater studs. 0 players like this post! Like? the 10 release are a big no go for me. maby instead of making tons of copies, applying low chanses at NCL with 1-3 tier 2 markings instead. the rlc market will lose all its charm by doing this. also the *you have to be active 2 days before* feels like a scam. you payed your 50sb and impressed her, then you should not lose your chanses because you can't rollover. this feauture will feel like a backstab to players who have more to to in real live then play lioden all day long. the stud idea is cool, and maby 2 RL a week because liodens played base increased a lot. but dont punish players because they also have a real life , thats just pay to win... or lose your currency if you can''t roll on time. thats not fair 9 players like this post! oh god no... Why are people so against things in this game being hard to get. I dont think inactive accounts should get RLs and raffle studs sound cool, but the rest of this just seems like it'll just make raffle lionesses lose everything thats cool about them; uniqueness and being hard to obtain. sigh. 3 players like this post! I feel like these are good suggestions I also feel like there virtually no chance of winning a RLC and once they exist people make their offspring (even the dirty ones) so expensive that unless you use real money on lioden you will NEVER be able to afford one. Releasing studs and or putting them in the explorer would help. 0 players like this post! Like? |

As someone who has been playing for a decade and has never once won the raffle lioness despite entering each time I would welcome any change to this frustrating system. 10 players like this post! Like? |

Releasing multiple of the same RL will just destroy the unique factor and crash the RL market. Maybe give a few NCLs some RL traits. But not have them be a full RL? That'd be the best option imo. It'd keep most people happy, while not ruining the RL herself for the winner. I think that it'd be understandable to release a stud with some of the traits, but maybe also not a full clone? I also support re-releasing RLs on inactive/banned/closed accounts! I still think once weekly is best, just cause it gives everyone an equal chance! And if the 365 day extra RL was released then it'd already be rewarding active players 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I keep seeing people post stuff about the RLC Market crashing!!! It’s Crashed and Burned! That has already happened! So why not implement a system designed to reward those who are loyal to this game and have never won a RL, yet roll over day in and day out!!? Also maybe put something in place so that if you have won an RL before you aren’t eligible to win again for at least 90 days, as opposed to the 7 days. I feel this will make it more fair for those who have never won at all? Just a suggestion. Because the economy is in such a horrible state as it is, and clones are dirt cheap rn because most people who can’t freeze can’t afford to breed them, the market is essentially done for. I really hope it revives in October and I hope that these suggestions balance the scales. It’s super frustrating to have never won an RL not just for myself but for mostly everyone I have spoken to. So I appreciate whatever you devs can do to give us a chance. 5 players like this post! Like? |

Also I don't like your two day linit. I get why. A lot of people buy in and bam never logs back in. However some of us go away on the weekend or for a week or a month or whatever to unplug our phones but still plan on coming back. I think its not cool to have a you can't get it if you haven't logged back in and payed for it. especially if you go with the explore option. 3 players like this post! Like? |

I personally think that option #2 is the most fair to all players with some minor adjustments. I don't like having to wait 365 rollovers to be able to enter for a raffle lioness, I think that number should be greatly reduced to about 100-150 nonconsecutive rollovers. I think that practically a year of rollovers, even nonconsecutive, is too much. I feel like it would deter new players from playing due to that being such a high milestone. Keeping down to 100-150 rollovers, or heck, even just like 50 rollovers should suffice just fine to deter inactive accounts. But this option is amazing because it still allows some players to be able to breed for specific traits, while still somewhat preserving the original RL. From personal experience, too; I love raffle lionesses to be able to breed for their traits, but not necessarily their clones - so this stud idea (with some tweaks) is *chefs kiss* to me. My true beef is with #1, and it shouldn't be considered compared to at least some of the other options. Seems the most unfair to me because it allows people with a high bank of GB to buy energy items and grind in explore until they get their clones, thus allowing them to make even more GB and gain an unfair advantage against other players who are newer, and don't have as much GB or energy items banked. I feel like this would also deter newer players or players that don't have a high amount of funds from playing due to this. Also, please, PLEASE, don't implement entering in for the Raffle Lionesses only on Weds, Thurs, and Fris. That is unfair to people who have jobs, lives, and hobbies outside of Lioden. On a slower month, I usually only rollover on a few Sundays and Mondays here and there because those are my days off from my job, so that would mean that I would never win a Raffle Lioness from here on out due to my job (and I STILL haven't even won one with how old my account is). There is really no true way to make everyone happy with this option, so I don't think it should be implemented. I'm kind of dumbfounded that the E-Mail notification wasn't already implemented. I feel like more people who now have inactive accounts would have rolled over to see their RLs if they were notified via E-Mail... 3 players like this post! Like? |

Ok I have some ideas For number 1 I wonder if you could make it so every rl pulled from the chased pool has 1 less trait then the lioness before so ,14/15-13,15 ect That way there would still be a lot of value to the true rl I feel number 4 should only be if the rl has new traits, so they have those traits and maybe 4 extra bo 1 player likes this post! I love the idea for the studs! It means there would still be that one special lion, but new markings etc would get spread out a lot better! However, as a player who is extremely active but who only joined early this year, the whole 365 rollovers thing feels just bad. I'm all for rewarding activity, but rolling over doesn't necessarily mean being active. One account might spend hours every day playing, while another just comes and hits the rollover button on an otherwise empty and abandoned account, and they would both be rewarded the same way even when one is million times more active than the other. It also feels bad that a person who plays a lot every day can't take part simply because they found the game later than say, another more inactive but older player. This rule also doesn't eliminate the chance of RL going into inactive accounts, since nothing prevents an old player from remembering this game exists, playing a couple days, and then stopping again. Same with an older player who just logs in a few times a year to check things out. I've always disliked the artificial forced ”x many days” deal where you just have to log in, and you can't catch up by actually playing, and this feels exactly the same. It feels more like gatekeeping than rewarding real activity. So if the point is to reward activity, this isn't the way to do that, at least in my opinion. Otherwise all the options sound really cool, the studs definitely being my favourite! 2 players like this post! Like? |
