-LOCKED - Discussion: Raffle Lionesses | |
Posted on 2024-08-05 08:57:00
We are aware of some issues that the community has been voicing with the raffle lioness system, with some complaints including it being difficult to pass on raffle-exclusive traits, raffle lionesses going to inactive accounts, and so on. We have had our own discussion among the developers and would now like to present a discussion where the community can provide feedback on the ideas we have outlined below regarding how the system can be modified, and possibly even give their own ideas if they aren't already covered. We will be closely monitoring this topic to record feedback, which we will then use for an upcoming site poll.

1. I like the idea of finding traits in explore but NOT the idea of having a rl releasing in explore. let's sat for example a rl has a new marking slot or a new set of eyes, then maybe for a limited time there could be the chance of finding a chased with only ONE of those new traits at random. That way if someone does want to get a RLC from those claimed lionesses they would have to recreate them which is not an easy task by any mean and something I believe a majority of people wouldn't do. 2 & 3. I really like them, mostly because there's still a lot left to luck seeing as there's no guarantee you will get to breed with that stud and even then a lot of it is left to rng. I also like the 365 roll overs thing, or at least +100 to ensure it will not go to someone who will just play the game for a little while and then leave it, but that it will go to someone who is truly active in game. 4 & 5. I also like these ones, for 4th I like the idea of the rls being identical as it gives the lines a better chance to live, and of course 5 brings back already extinct lines. 6 & 7 also feel like relatively good options, but they may not necessarily solve the issue in the first place. I also want to mention that I do not believe doing any of this things will overflow the market with rlcs! From what I've seen current rlcs have about an average of 40 clones alive in game (speaking from my personal experience, I do not know is this number is completely accurate) and while 40 clones may seem like a lot, keep in mind that we have THOUSANDS of members in this game. Just as I'm writing this there are around 3000 members currently online, meaning only around 1.3% of players online would have a RLC from a line with around 40 living individuals, and a lot of them sell at around 300GB! Yes, having more rlcs in the market would mean the price would decline, yet I still do not believe it would decline that much since RLCs are really expensive to breed in the first place, and even if someone can afford buying one it doesn't mean they can afford breeding one, which would be another factor stopping the market from overflowing, especially since Crunchy worms can only be obtained during one month during the whole year. 7 players like this post! Not sure if its been suggested before, but combining 3 and 6 could be a good option? The stud could change same as raffle lioness, once a week, but have raffle stud slots be raffled each DAY, instead. And have the option to enter for his slot every day, with certain amount of slot being raffled off for the day. That way, there will be more slots raffled AND they will be raffled off evenly, a little bit each day, rather than all at once on Friday! It could be a really nice solution to get those traits spread, while also rewarding active players with a new chance every day to win a slot! And once a week is up, the stud can change, and again offer slots to be won each day. 7 players like this post! Like? Edited on 05/08/24 @ 11:37:18 by Mad Hyena (#29080) |

Thank you for opening this discussion! :D I personally feel like 3 without the stud being identical, option 4 without them being identical, option 5, and option 7 would all be fabulous. I'm fresh awake so forgive word salad, redundancy, and all that. :'3 Here's my thoughts about it! - The economy right now is a big tumultuous. This DOES happen in any game with an economy! Players set the pace for everything and I think that is the best way for it to be. However, this penalizes anything that is less 'unique.' Even when RLCs were doing well from an 'easy to sell and sell for a good amount' standpoint, the more clones a RLC had, naturally the cost would slowly go down. As someone who has never won an RL either (I've been playing since 2014 and have entered for almost every single RL since!), I love the idea of winners having something 'just for them.' I've always appreciated someone getting their VERY OWN special thing. I do think new traits and marking slots should be spread, if not clones! (I personally love to see RL lines spread and offered out, but I also heavily believe in the credence that people have the freedom to do what they like with their own lions) This is why I like the idea of RL studs that are not identical. It lends the ability to spread certain traits and hopefully re-pull rarer slots that people may want/need for their projects, without losing the uniqueness of each RL. - For the same reason above, I like that raffle lionesses are unique! But releasing several designs a week could give more incentive for more items (gnaws, buffies to get more markings/traits out there, etc) to get traits from the RLs, more RL lines for people to collect, more ways to get marking slots out there, etc. I think this could potentially help give a little boost back to the RL economy. And for those who are open to spreading the lines, again definitely adding to the potential list of RLCs to collect! - Option 5 is a bit self-explanatory on why I like it - gets dead from the get-go marking slots out there, and again allows more RLC lines to allow a chance to spread or at the very least their traits! - For option 7, even if the RL is "Just as special" as the other RL, I think it would be a nice bonus for long-time players! I personally love seeing when anyone wins, whether they've played for YEARS or just got started. The nature of RNG is that it's just that; random. However, for super long-time players, the odds of fighting for a RL has gone from against 800-1,000 other people at the most to now 8,000+ potentially! Again, that is the nature of RNG and I appreciate absolutely everyone has the same opportunities. And I think new players shouldn't be punished by being ineligible for nice shiny things just because they're newer! But an additional 'thank you for being with us!' for older players with a second, DIFFERENT design, I would love to see. The reason I do not like 6 is mainly because there are a lot of players who have freezer accounts! This penalizes players kind enough to offer up storage for others' assistance. (My poor hybrids would be in trouble without having a freezer to go to!) Also, for folks who are dealing with a lot IRL and cannot remember to roll each day to enter, or who simply struggle to remember all the daily things that already need doing on an account to add in entering each day. I like 'even odds' on all of it! The final thing I would like to see implemented is a detailed message for winners on the potential of how they can breed the RL. Or perhaps a link to a page with incredibly detailed information! Some players are newer and, understandably, don't know exactly how they CAN breed her. Someone who's just joined may want a clone but not know about crunchy worms, or may not know you can get more cubs with her eyes, skin, etc. from simple monkey business items! In the end, it's still very much so their decision! But, I think this could potentially help new players know the potential of options available to them if they want to spread clones, skin, eyes, etc. "You have won this week's Raffle Lioness! Please keep in mind she is yours to do with what you like and that she is very special. Raffle Lionesses have a lot of breed only traits that can be otherwise difficult to get on a lioness. - You may use a crunchy worm if you wish to try to get a clone of her. This item has a 25% chance per litter to give her entire looks to one cub. Mutation items such as GMO Cows or Lion Meats can be used as well to attempt for a mutated clone. - You can use an opal saltlick from the monkey business if you want to guarantee her eyes to her litter. - You can use a rock salt from the monkey business if you want to guarantee her skin to her litter." Etc etc. Adding this in; I personally also do not like the idea of someone having to be active in a certain time-frame after entering for the same reason of activity above. Imagine a player is hit with a power outage and is incapable of rolling, or internet service is out due to a snowstorm, etc. It could potentially punish players dealing with IRL issues that are preventing them from rolling or even being able to make their account look 'active' even if it purely isn't only for those that roll. 12 players like this post! PSSSST! Here's a funky idea: Extinct Raffle lionesses should be re-introduced as RAFFLE STUDS once a month The 3 other Raffle studs should be 5-marked: sharing a few traits with the current RL! 10 players like this post! Like? |

Since the august studs are almost here again I just want to reiterate that as noted in Katze's post above the raffle studs would not allow items to be used on them. That means your chance for a base/marking pass is much lower without a worm or a gnaw and FAR lower for a replica. The 20-50 matches Wolvden IIRC so I feel that works and is fair. Another suggestion, maybe you could earn an exclusive title for winning the RL something like "Lucky Lad/Lady" or something for people who want to show off that super twinkly status symbol to display their lucky RL win? 9 players like this post! I’m so glad you’re listening to us! This RL market is insane (as I say with a RLC king) I don’t like the idea of being punished for not rolling over though, as I am a wet season breeder so I am very sporadic during dry season and I worry that would ruin my chances to ever get a RL. Just my two cents on that one potential option 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I think that the chased is a good idea ! Not everyone who rolls and plays will do so 24/7, or HAVE the items to breed her. Everyone seems to be talking about the idea as if everyone owns a crunchy / ochre powder / buffy. However, I do think it needs some tweaking. It seems a bit sketch for someone to get something for free that's going to be worth at least 100GB in the playerbases eyes ; but the raffles themselves only cost 50 , and its by luck. Maybe it's only an extra five clones that go out to the players ; but if they lose her, that's it ? Or, alternatively, of it just being a couple rare slots or eyes or whatever ; This explains it better ! https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429551280&page=25#304446535912 3 players like this post! By request, raffle stud design for last week as well. Follows the same principles as the one I posted on the previous page! I haven't done it for demonstration purposes and Katze mentioning sticking an item on a raffle page lion is harder than it seems, but the raffle studs could also be lab-frogged with mane decor like some August studs >:) 9 players like this post! Thank you, Staff. This will help a LOT of people! By the way, I don't think it should be as easy as it is to gain/lose these lions. It might hurt the economy/create chaos. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 05/08/24 @ 11:32:51 by Moom- (G1 Ra, oh god Jags) (#320832) |

Writing down my thoughts before seeing anyone else's, I think idea 6 and 7 are the best long term ideas. Idea 6 makes an incentive to log in everyday, something I personally think the game is laking (especially for players who already have quite a bit of progress since the daily rewards aren't that big), but doesn't give a major penalty for failing to do it (like your lions dying) incase it just doesn't Interest you. My only worry about the idea is that it'll add another 'pay to win' aspect to the game, if only the first impress costs silver beetles my worry would be eased, even if it costed more then it already does. Idea 7 makes a sort of connection between logging in and progress, which definitely was there before, but this is a base progress and it doesn't matter what you do in that roll over as long as you do a roll over, plus it dosent have to be consecutive to get better things. I don't have any worries about this one honestly. 5 is also a great idea, bringing back what was lost so people who would appreciate it more have a chance. If no other idea is done I really hope this one is atleast followed. Idea 1 and 4 feel like they just ruin the rarity of raffle lionesses, it's really a 'more does not equal better' sort of situation. 2 and 3 really just seem like the same idea with different implementation, I do like the idea of year round raffle studs but I wouldn't really get upset if neither were added. I may edit this after giving the whole thing more thought but this is just my first opinions. Edit: fixed spelling mistakes lol Edit 2: I completely forgot about jobs (somehow) my take on that is just don't do 'the person had to have a roll over recently' thing, but the email is definitely a good idea to tell people they won so they can do something with it. 0 players like this post! One raffle lioness a week Is fine, I also feel that 1 ticket each is fine because not every player can be on daily. I feel re releasing raffle girls in the explore would be awesome. HOWEVER I do not think it's fair for only people that have been active for the last two days to get her.. there are a lot of adults that play and work on weekdays. Not everyone can get on every day. If they were active enough to enter the raffle then they shouldn't loose their chance at the lioness. The rules state that once you win the raffle lioness it's yours to do with as you please, this should include being able to take a break from the game and still get her. There's no guarantee that non winners would even get a cub from the raffle lioness so the winner being inactive doesn't really effect anything imo. As far as adding raffle lioness's to the chased pool, I like this idea. I feel that it would work best if the "chased" lioness would be random though, pulled fromm any of the lioness's from the last 6 months instead of the past 3 weeks only to be more of a surprise/random 1 player likes this post! I'm personally in very big favour of options 2 & 3, it not only allows rare raffle marks and qualities to pass and spread easier for people to use but it would also give chance for full clones to those who enjoy breeding and cloning raffle lionesses. The Chased idea feels little too random, seeing as there could be thousands of chased lions in the pool so 10 special lions in the pool just feels little too sparing. And the rest just feel like old system but with more copies that might not make much of an impact since people can just be active when the rl is pulled and then go to a hiatus or quit 0 players like this post! Okay, so one thing that I like about Ronnie's suggestion is that the Gorilla Enclave is always asking me for cubs with random stuff like bone facial 2 but there are no cubs for sale with that marking (the gorilla enclave is in need of an update too, but that's a topic I won't delve into here too much), but I think that something like Ronnie's suggestion could help with that a little bit Also, I desperately want kiwifruit eyes for my project 8 players like this post! ultimately, i do not care if the entire clone is accessible to the public. i care about the rare slots that all too often get lost to an inactive account or, in some cases, a permanently suspended account. rarely, people have private lines and choose to not release any traits which, while it is their right, defeats the purpose of the raffle system. i will be basing most of my opinions on this basis. raffle lionesses were created to distribute slots, not just to give a lucky winner a cool lion (that's just an added benefit of the raffle system). i would like to note, if your favorite clone is a private line, you can recreate that line so long as the rare slots are released (through NCLs or, ideally imo, raffle studs). i see no reason to release more than one (identical) raffle lioness when it's always supposed to have been a unique, one-of-a-kind prize (yes, cloning exists. but those clones are not G1 unless they are chased). this is not in regards to the multiple, different raffle lionesses a week! "1. Storing raffle lioness designs and releasing them slowly through explore." ✦✧✧✧✧ "2. Releasing an identical replica raffle stud alongside a raffle lioness. & 3. Implementing raffle studs in general." ✦✦✦✧✧ & ✦✦✦✦✦ "4. Releasing more than one raffle lioness per week." ✦✦✧✧✧ "5. Releasing recreated copies of previous raffle lionesses who are on banned/closed accounts." ✦✧✧✧✧ "6. Allow the weekly raffle lioness to be impressed daily instead of once weekly for higher chances of winning, therefore rewarding more active players." ✦✦✦✧✧ "7. Add a second raffle lioness for players who have rolled over at least 365 times in total (not consecutively), with potentially more unique traits than a standard Dreamboat raffle lioness." ✦✦✦✧✧ uhh,, yea i did rank the options by 1-5 stars to convey my ideas easily without unspoilering everything ✦✦✦✦✦ being 5/5 (best option) and so on. 6 players like this post! Maybe multiple raffle Lioness a week to placate the growing player base but players can only try to impress one? Therefore their chances of winning improve, and theres more raffle lionesses, but less work on the player to feel like they have to roll every day. I think re-releasing RL designs from suspended or deleted accounts would go really quickly if mor RLs were added per week too. 0 players like this post! Like? |
