-- The Kings' Fangs are a rocky mountain range reaching to the sky and covered in clouds. Any remaining feral dragons live here, and it is said to be where the two kings Oblaan and Avarice fought their heinous battle.
-- Inside the Kings' Fangs is a rocky peninsula on a crystal lake, always lit up by the starry sky whether day or night. The water told to be so still, if one were looking down, they would forget which direction they were facing and think they were staring into the sky. Said to be the hiding place of the last Riders, it is named by the few who travel there Riders' Sight, with the stars said to be the massacred Riders' gaze.
-- Fading away north from the Kings' Fangs is a vast mountain range named Arrowhead Stretch. It is a rocky and snowy terrain, inhabited by few.
-- Arrowhead Stretch continues from the south to the north, rising taller and becoming snowier. Even fewer inhabit it, aside from a few wild dragons and animals.
-- Inside the Arrowhead Stretch is a vast glacial cave said to be where the newly formed Riders foundation is in hiding. It has been nicknamed New Rider's Cave by the members of the Riders. Large enough to house a few full grown dragons, and far vast enough to house the young dragons of the new Riders, it is an incredibly large area. The ice enclosing it keeps the heat in, and with the body heat from the dragons and humans, the cold isn't too much of a problem inside. * * * 0 players like this post! Like? Sundari The pale blonde-haired girl sat on the edge of the dock, feeling as the icy water lapped at her feet. It was spring, but the small town she was living in at the time was far north, it felt like the middle of winter. But that was good, she assumed, because the New Rider's Cave was in the icy north. They made their home out of a natural glacial cavern, large enough to hold even the two kings, story says. There would be plenty of room for flying, and if it were as large as the stories tell, they could fly for long enough that if she were back home, she would have flown to the coast by then. A cave that large had to keep the warm air in, and that was all she could imagine now. The icy water cooled her feet, aching from walking, although the cold air bit at her skin. She had to let Ulalie fly for now, because this town was not dragon-friendly. They had shot arrows when Ulalie had tried to descend with Sundari on her back, so the dragon had to land elsewhere and reside there while Sundari made her way to the town for rest. It'd been two days, and although flowers should be popping out of the ground and green should take over the white landscape, the weather only got worse and worse the further they went. It was hard to keep going, but she knew that if they wanted to reach the Riders, they'd have to. She'd been a Rider so far for eight years, however until now, she thought she could learn how to be a Rider on her own. Ulalie had crossed paths with a saddled small blue dragon, and since then, the beast had been wanting to get a proper training. In truth, Sundari wasn't even sure if the rumors were true -- that there even WAS an organization of the new Riders. They could be wasting their time and energy; even risking their lives based on a rumor. But if it were true, it would benefit them greatly. A real Rider's training, not just experimenting with the magic and attempting at a sword on their own. Sundari was terrible at swordplay on its own, but on the back of a dragon? She was a fool for even trying. But, she thought she could do it. That was the one good quality Sundari had, aside from her looks: determination. If she was determined, she would try her hardest, even if it meant failing badly, like had happened with fighting dragon-back. Sundari, my Rider, The sweet sound of Ulalie's voice chimed to her Rider's mind, We must start moving soon. I spot a storm on the horizon and we'd best not be caught in it. Sundari lifted her feet from the icy water, and put on her boots once they were dry. Her belongings were kept at the local inn; a small place, but warm and sheltered. She'd have to collect them if they needed to move, although the dreaded going in that place. Nothing but drunks and creeps, and with Ulalie not at her side, she had to be careful. Of course, the beast would come when she called, but who knows what could have happened by then? Hover above the city, close, but not close enough that their arrows can reach you, Sundari replied, gathering her things and walking back in the direction of the inn. She didn't carry much at the moment; just a small sword for protection and a bag of clothes which was in the room at the inn. The rest of her items were with Ulalie in the saddlebags. Upon entering the inn, the sting of alcohol hit her nose. She gave a cough, and walked quickly to her room. It had been made by the poorly-paid maid, although her bags had been left alone on the small dresser beside it. She changed out of her clothes, the bottom of her pants wet from the lake, and into a cleaner pair. Although she preferred to wear dressed, she'd discovered it wasn't at all pleasant to ride a dragon in a dress, even when using a saddle. She'd ruined one of her best dresses that way. They weren't a dress, but her pants and shirt were the cleanest she owned at the moment from all their traveling. If they were to reach the Riders by now, she'd want to look her best. If, being the key word. She had no clue how far it was from here. She'd heard to fly until the spring doesn't come, and there certainly wasn't a blooming flower anywhere near here. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/05/14 by Flying Changes (#17120) |

The wind started to pick up as the short valley grass started to sway against the hard leather black boots of Rowen as he sat in the once peaceful and sunny field of a small town he checked in at as the spring months started to creep closer. The howling of the hard forces of the air was what got him to finally move from his resting place when small drops of rain landed on his coarse black hair, making it stick from the wetness. My rider, a storm is brewing in the South, i suggest we move on. A deep voice echoed through Rowen's mind as he started to trek back up the now slightly muddy slop and back up to the quiet village to grab his things from the inn keeper he left at the desk when he came to visit. his attention sparking on a slight movement of a person walking through the cobblestone streets and disappeared. A blond only a young girl as he could see, but he paid no attention and continued to the inn. Im heading out now He said as he opened the creeky door to the warm indoors of the inn. The smell of cooking meat and ale made his mouth water, walking up to the counter of a round looking mad cleaning the tops. "What can i do you for?" He asked still sliding a wet piece of cloth over the wood works. "I left my things here and i want them back, im leaving" The bar tender, saprized, looked up in mid swipe and sighed"In this storm? your crazy" Rowen just help his hand out as the man slid a leather bag across the top and to Rowen's side. Nodding he walked out with squeaky boots and into the rain storm to meet his companion. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/05/14 by Senna541 (#28437) |

~Sitara~ Grey-ish morning light crept in through Sitara's closed eyes. Boreas's great mass snorted noisily beside her as he too began to wake. His wings were splayed, and Sitara had been using one as a blanket. Though in his large chest there was a deadly ice, his body flowed with heat, and the previous night had been chill. Sitara blinked groggily, laying still for a few moments, hoping to be pulled back into sleep. Unfortunately, she had no such luck, as once awakened, her partner didn't tend to fall back to sleep very soon, and now that he was fully conscious, he moved heavily away, leaving her exposed to the crisp morning air. Sitara groaned, and curled into a ball. Boreas chuckled, and padded to the stream that ran through the clearing where they had camped. It was only a few miles from the great glacier that served as the HQ for the Riders. Tired of being around her fellow Riders, she had decided to sleep outside under the stars, where she felt most comfortable. Finally, she opened her eyes to thick, grey clouds, holding the promise of a nice cold rain. Standing up, Sitara dusted herself off and got prepared to go back to the glacier. She had brought Boreas' crappy saddle, seeing as she wouldn't be going far, and she didn't expect to be battling enemy troupes too soon. After a quick drink from the stream herself, she mounted Boreas, who lept into the air, scales shifting as he climbed upwards. The wind blew cold off the ice mountain, and Sitara regretted not bringing a cloak. Borealis shot through a nearly invisible opening, and into a large chamber, big enough for him to spread his wings and flap quickly, halting his speed, and landing with a jolt on the ice floor. 0 players like this post! Rowen The rain now started to pelt his black cloak as he quickly walked across the muddy and puddle filled path into the noisy forest, rain smashing into the ripe green leaves of spring making some dip low from the heaviness. He pulled the large hood back over his cold face as the wind chilled his skin from the rain ever so often landing on his bare arms. The village was now far behind him as he walked for what seemed like an hour before finally recognizing the large hole of cleared trees that he sent his dragon into, stopping to stare up before continuing into the darker depths of the shadowed forest. Blue eyes peered out through the blinding rain as the sounds of crushing leaves got his large head to turn from his nesting spot. With narrowed eyes he slowly lifted his massive body from the damp mossy floor and stepped out of hiding at into the storm. It wasn't until the cloaked figure walked past a small tree he saw Caeden crouched to the ground to hide his massive figure from showing. Rowen smiled and walked over to his now soaked friend to gently pat his scaly neck before lifting his leg to sit in the sirup and pulled himself into the slick black saddle. Small chains linked to the large blade like spikes around Caeden's cheeks linked to the horn of Rowen's saddle as he gently griped them with two hands."Lets go" He said out loud as a large growl rose from Caedon's chest, opening his large leathery wings to full height and pushed off of the ground with one huge kick. They left the ground in a matter of seconds and took to the gray sky to finally return to the ice cave they called home. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/05/14 by Senna541 (#28437) |

~ Borealis ~ Borealis' stomach growled hungrily as Sitara hopped off his back, landing soundlessly. Much of the ice in the front entrance had been chewed up and refrozen several times over the course of the Riders' living among the glacier's caverns. Sitara understood that Boreas needed to hunt, and she gave him a pat on his sinewy neck, wishing him luck. I'm going to wait for Rowan to return. I would like to have a good practice fight with him, Sitara thought at him. Boreas growled in approval, and turned back to the entrance. He dove off the sheer edge, and after gathering a decent speed, splayed his wings, which caught the air like the sails they were meant to be. He soared up and south, where more prey lived inside the piney forest. ~ Sitara The forest elf raced back to the small cavern that served as her quarters. She grabbed her thick winter cloak, and dashed back to the entrance, impatient for a battle. Her blood was chilled, and she wouldn't eat anything until she had gotten some exercise. Sitara paced with measured steps on the edge of the cliff, glancing into the distance. She was impatient. Roran was a very skilled fighter, even though he was human. He pressed her hard, with the help of his dragon. He would eventually reach her level of strength, but for now, Sitara refused to battle him with Boreas' help. 0 players like this post! Like? Ceadon soared through the air quicker then Rowen ever new he could as the rain started to dim as they neared to far north and to ice cave. Rowen held onto the horn of the saddle as the chains lay loosely around it,leaning with his dragon as they dove strait up to meet the giant mouth opening of the ice cave. Wings spread wide to slow there speed to a sudden halt, landing with grace to meet Sitara at the entrance as well and had to slightly swerve to avoid landing on the poor girl. Ceadon's claws clicked against the cold surface of the ice as Rowen stepped down from the dragons back and slid to the floor with a small clap from his boots. Rowen sighed before releasing the pressure on Ceadon's girth and slid the rather large saddle of the wet dragons scales and placed it down near a rock were he usually sat. "wheres Boreas?" was all he asked as he turned his back to the girl behind him. 0 players like this post! Like? |

~ Sitara ~ Sitara gazed at Ceadon's scaled chest as he soared over her head, missing her by a foot or so. She watched Rowan with her usual dead-pan face as he disembarked from the saddle. At Rowan's question she looked behind her at the entrance. "You just missed him. He went hunting. Headed south I suppose," she said plainly. Turning back to the burly Rider, she looked between his eyes, not liking the intimacy of starring at other's eyes. "Anyways, I'm needing a battle. It's cold and..." she considered the other pair's wet condition, "Aggressively damp. Even my bones are chilly." Sitara fingered her blade, a deadly thing, with a handle made of engraved dragon bone, and a blade that glimmered somewhat like an opal. The blade was double edged, and oblong, with a tapered point. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/05/14 by Celebi ~TRF~ (#13049) |

Rowen turned to meet the eyes of the elf girl that stood before him. Elf or not he was surpized of how close there heights were, thinking for a moment before nodding in her direction. " ya sure we can battle" He said before removing his soaked cloak to reveal the black cloth shirt, tight fitted and some plane black pants. A rather large sword rested at his hip, the color of ebony with a blood red line engraved down the middle, it was one of the few swords that were made to aid the past kings army, a legendary sword. He drew his sword from its leather sheath, the sharp blade sliding against the edge to make the sound of metal on metal. Ceadon wondered back away from the battle that was about to happen, resting himself against the cold walls of the cave before watching his rider. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(Senna, to make their thoughts italicized, use <*i> text here <*/i> but remove the stars. (: ) Sundari She walked out of the inn, scowling at the drunks. Inns weren't like this in the small town she came from. Sure, there were the average drunks, but up here, they were worse than anything she'd seen. One of them had offered to buy her a drink, which she accepted, and then went to sit in her rented room with the door locked. The poor drunk guy hadn't even know what happened when he turned around and she wasn't there. His drunken expression must have been priceless. She made her way out of the inn to find Ulalie's shadow lingering above. The guards of the small down stood their ground, bows drawn at the dragon, and Sundari couldn't help but smile. The dark dragon landed gracefully; despite her size, being one of the older dragons of the new generation, she was a lightweight dragon. Sundari walked up to the beast and climbed into the saddle, pushing her hair behind her shoulder as the guards gaped in awe. "Come, Ulalie. Let's find this New Rider's Cave. I'm sure we're far north enough. It can't be far," She said out loud as the dragon lifted from the ground. The rhythmic rise and fall of Ulalie's shoulders relaxed Sundari, and she seemed to ignore the icy wind kissing her face for a moment. It wasn't before long that she realized that she couldn't feel the wind anymore. But not just on her face, anywhere. Fumbling with frozen fingers, she undid the latches on Ulalie's saddlebags and reached in for her thick winter cloak. Most of the clothes she had were thin, being from a southern fishing town. She'd hardly seen such a horrible winter, or rather, spring. After managing to clasp the cloak around herself, she curled up into a ball, taking her feet out of the stirrups. She heard Ulalie give a soft laugh, and then her smooth voice called out over the wind, "Perhaps you should have stocked up on winter clothing before you left," "I didn't think it would be this damn cold!" Sundari shouted back, although she was sure her voice was drowned in the wind. "It's spring for god's sake!" I've never seen a spring like this, Ulalie said, this time murmuring in Sundari's mind. The Rider muttered an agreement, and lay in the crook of Ulalie's shoulders to use the saddle as a pillow as her wings rose and fell.

Rowen stood infront of the elf, sword draw and ready to swing if she agreed to there battle. His blue eyes glinted off the ice covered walls as he continued to look in her direction. Ceadon suddenly lifted his large head from his black talons to pear out into the calming weather outside, his nostrals flairing at the sent he just picked up. Lifting his massive body from the cold underground he lumbered behind the sparing pair to overlook the jagged edge of the strait drop off the let out a ear-covering roar that echoed throughout the caves as Rowen suddenly turned to look at his angered companion. My rider, there is someone out there watching us, .. and they have a dragon. Ceadons voice rang through Rowens thoughts as he looked to the elf then quickly walked over to his dragon, his gaze scanning over the fast distance of neverending trees and his dragon let out a nother piercing roar as his eyes narrowed at the strangers he spotted in the distance. 0 players like this post! Using his hand to shield his eyes from the bitterly cold wind, Mikaviel peered down at the terrain below. It was mostly evergreens and rocks. You know, there's been fewer and fewer orcs in this part of the woods since we started hanging around... he thought to his dragon. They both took the opportunity to hone their fighting skills whenever and wherever they could, which had the added benefit of keeping enemies at bay. The white dragon nodded her head in silent agreement as she banked left. The air was colder here; they had to fly at a low altitude to avoid growing icicles. Mika was still a bit ambivalent about checking out the dragon Zyla had told him of. He'd been on his own for so long, with the exception of his dragon and the patrons of the occasional inn or tavern, that he didn't know if he'd be any good at meeting someone else, and what if the person with the dragon was a super powerful evil guy, and then there was the thing with Zyla being so aggressive-- I can hear you, Mika, the beast thought at him, growling slightly. I told you, I think we should go look. I will refrain from attacking anyone...unless they attack me first. The wood elf let out a dramatic, vocal sigh. Fine, fine. We'll start heading that way tomorrow. He knew there was a few shops around--this was not the first time they'd come up this far north. If they were to go to where they had first spotted the other dragon, he'd need a thicker cloak. The dragon snorted, content she was getting her way--as usual. Mika couldn't say no to her anyways. Absently, he reached forward and brushed through Zyla's feathered mane with his fingers. He knew she had been wanting to go to where the snow was thick and constant; the ice was in her blood. Maybe she wouldn't be as moody if she was frolicking in the snow? Wishful thinking, yes, but Mika still cracked a smile at the thought of her prancing and diving in the icy white banks. 0 players like this post! Like? |
