(xD Don't worry!) Thelduin As a gust of wind came, he gave a scowl. This bloody north is too cold. Struggling to stand, as the wind kept tossing him on his bad leg, he grabbed onto a tree. More voices followed from in front of him, but whatever was said was lost to the wind. He only hoped it wasn't a question that would cost him his life. To whatever had been said, he called out, "I'm just looking for my animal. If you're the damned thief who stole him..." However, he came to a pause as the silhouette of someone walked into view. It was hard to see through the snow, but he could tell that they were male, and by the height, an elf as well. But another shape soon showed up, this one a large, reptilian figure. A dragon. Thelduin narrowed his eyes, and began to step forward as the wind lessened. He was able to walk steadily for once, and felt more able to defend himself if this person and their dragon were enemies. 0 players like this post! Like? |

He sounds threatening, Zyla warned, letting out a low warning growl towards the potential foe. Mika shrugged, ever confident. We can handle him if he is, Zy. Let's see what he knows. Taking a closer look at the person before them, Mika saw by the glow of the magelight a set of pointed ears. An elf, then. The light had stopped floating about erratically, given that the winds were dying down slightly (for now, at least), and Mika could make out more easily slight details of his kinsman. He seemed to be quite tall--even taller than Mika, who was used to being at least half a head above most humans. If they were to engage in combat, the taller elf would be a worthy opponent. The light glinted off the blade of a knife the other elf was carrying; surely, he was just as wary of the duo as the duo was wary of him. He didn't freak out at the sight of Zyla, though, so that was a good sign...maybe. "That was your hippogriff at the inn? What a scene he was making," he called out, trying to alleviate the tension evident in the man's posture. Confident in his abilities as he was, this time Mika preferred to just ask the guy if there was nearby shelter that was big enough for a dragon. "I can assure you I was not his captor, though. It's too late at night for thievery...past my bedtime. It's unfortunate he was stolen." 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 19/08/14 by Charlemagne {LAWS,PP, MARS} (#28179) |

Thelduin This man was a Rider. Although Thelduin hadn't seen him before at the Cave, it didn't mean that he wasn't part of their organization. The dragon was certainly grown and able to protect itself and its Rider. If they were an enemy, he didn't want to be caught in a battle with a dragon on his own. The dragon was strange, he noted. A lindworm, he assumed, as it only had two forelegs and wings, and no hindlegs. He felt confident that he would remember seeing that dragon at the Cave, however perhaps he had just overlooked it. "You're a Rider?" He questioned, although it was said more as a statement. "Have you been up to the Cave yet? "I am Thelduin, and yes that was my hippogriff. He does love those drunken bastards that drink day and night at the inn," He stated, walking closer as the hostility between the two of them had seemed to calm down a bit. "You wouldn't have happened to hear the creature's shrieks in the forest, have you? Loud and annoying, you wouldn't miss it," 0 players like this post! Like? |

{take ya time ;D and i think they aren't that far...i picture them as being in the foothills of the mountains, so i assume they'd have to cross over the mountains to get to the glacier unless it's one of those traveling glaciers and not the ones in the sea. FC correct me if i'm wrong haha} Rider? Mika had never heard that before, though he'd used the term less definitively to describe his relationship with Zyla. Thankfully the guy seemed to have relaxed, so the wood elf dropped his hand from his sword's hilt to appear more trustworthy. "I haven't been in any caves lately...actually I was going to ask you if you knew of any. Not much shelter out here. And if your hippogriff was noisier than the wind, unfortunately I didn't hear him." Mika paused, contemplating his next question. He didn't want to give too much away too soon, in case this new elf was up to no good. "You called me a 'Rider' like I'm part of a group. Are there others with dragons?" He knew the answer to this question already, of course, since he and Zyla were up here specifically because they'd seen another dragon flying around. But it didn't hurt to try to weasel some information out of this guy who seemed knowledgable enough to be helpful. Be careful, Mika, Zyla warned, hissing slightly. If he knows where we're going, he may follow us. Yeah, Mika countered, but if he knows things, we might be able to find out more about the dragons. Calm down, Zy, I've got this under control. And if I don't...that's where you come in! He sent her a mental impish grin, not wanting to give away his telepathic conversation to Thelduin. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(I wasn't picturing them as too far away. Like Charlemagne, I was somewhat picturing them in the foothills of the mountains with the glacier being on the other side near the coast. I didn't really picture it as a traveling glacier. xD) Thelduin Well, he didn't know about New Rider's Cave apparently. However, that doesn't mean he wasn't an experienced Rider. The man and his dragon seemed to communicate flawlessly, even without words. Not many that weren't at the Cave knew how to do that, but from the actions between the two, he could tell they knew how to perfectly. He wasn't sure if they were having a conversation at the moment, as the man kept a stoic face, however they were a dragon and Rider pair. That was mainly the only way a pair ever spoke to one another. If they were, the man did a great job at keeping a straight face. Even he couldn't help but make a face or two when speaking to Oblaan, and not many Riders up at the cave knew how to either. "I don't know of any caves around here, however to answer your second question, yes, there are others with dragons. Some are scattered throughout the land as solitary riders like you, however the majority of them rest at a place called New Rider's Cave up north of here. Past the mountains, though I can't tell which way is which in this blasted storm," He said, observing the man before him. He seemed to be questionable like any Rider, however, he could have just been playing dumb. But even if there was a trick up this man's sleeve, there were enough Riders and dragons up at the Cave to hold of any attackers, so he didn't feel too worried about telling a stranger this information. "Guess it was about time I got rid of that hippogriff, then. Don't know how I'm going to travel through the mountains without it, though," He said, making the light brighter in attempt to see through the snow and woods, however there was nothing to be seen. He gave a muttered sigh, and dimmed it so it was only enough light for the three of them. 0 players like this post! Like? |

~Borealis~ The lithe white dragon was just finishing an awkward aerial move, in which he was faced with two dragons coming on either side of him. Selena had created some half-decent images of dragons flying toward him at full speed, both breathing fire. Boreas had to keep Selena safe and put off both attackers. He tried outpacing them, but Selena made the images move at the same speed. Boreas gave up on that, and allowed the dragons to get within 10 meters, before he stopped flapping and fell. The images chased after him, one on either side, just behind him. He then commenced a painful upwards loop, that ended with him behind the two dragons. Pleased, Selena dissipated the images, though she was in a bit of a huff, since her stomach hadn't anticipated such a maneuver. ~Selena~ While Boreas gloated in his triumph, Selena scanned their surroundings. Surprisingly, their aerial antics had landed them near the foothills, and they were approaching a fierce storm. Boreas was tiring from the flight, and Selena from the magic use. With similar emotions, the two swooped low, and Boreas glided into the forest. He had an unfortunate landing. Selena laughed; the white dragon was up to his shoulders in snow. He growled loudly, then proceeded to plow through the thick white powder. He emerged a minute later where there were more trees, and thus more cover. Selena unstrapped herself, and hopped to the ground, groaning and stretching. She pulled her cloak around herself tightly. The wind was even less friendly without her magic protecting her. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(I HAVE RETURNED i'm so sorry i abandoned this for a time omg i feel so bad ;A; <3<3<3 here's my crappy short post if anyone is still even up for this rp D:) Mika folded his arms across his chest. "What if I made you a proposition...we can take you through the mountains if you tell me where this fabled dragon rider convention is." It was a bold move, to be sure. He didn't know anything about this man or what he was capable of, but the other elf seemed to know enough to disclose the glacier's location and it was their only choice. Beside him Zyla hissed curtly, more out of exasperation than aggression. I am NOT carrying him. He's as big as you! I'm not a horse. The left corner of Mika's mouth inched up in a small lopsided smile at Zyla's protest. Well obviously. But we need him, so you'll have to put up with it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

((Well, I'm willing to RP as long as there's other people posting)) ~Selena~ The she-elf pricked her ears. There were voices coming from perhaps a hundred meters in front of them, to the west. She lay a hand on Boreas' lower shoulder. Perhaps we should investigate. Personally, I don't want any surprise attacks on the cave, she thought to him. He grunted in response. And try to be quiet, She said, only half kidding. Boreas looked offended. As it turned out, they didn't really need to try being stealthy, the wind covered the noise of their feet crunching in the snow. The light dimmed as more clouds gathered and more snow fell. Suddenly, Selena saw an abnormality in the lighting. A few of the trees ahead were flickering faintly with a golden glow. Fire? She motioned for Boreas to stay while she crept up to the trees for a better view. She saw two men, one was an elf she saw, and a dragon. She was one of the more snake-like species. New Rider's Cave... these two were obviously looking fro the glacier. She would continue to listen in, and learn if they were friend or foe. 0 players like this post! Like? |

(Welcome back Charlemange!<33 Don't worry, real life comes before anything. xD I am too, Celebi. Is it only the three of us? I know Senna was in here, but I don't know if she's still wanting to roleplay or not because I haven't seen her post in a while.) Thelduin At the man's proposition, Thelduin gave a nod. He wasn't sure if he trusted this elf entirely, but he couldn't deny help to a rider wanting to join the New Riders. Also, they were his only way up to the glacier without days of traveling and wearing himself out from magic use. Sure, this may not turn out to be the best of deals, but he knew that the Riders would be more then capable to protect themselves should this rider and his dragon be up to no good. While he was tempted to search the man's mind for any thoughts about harming the Riders, he resisted, knowing that the other elf would likely feel the search and become wary. The last thing he needed was his new ride to the cave to turn on him. "I can show you where it is. I'm actually headed that way, and if you can take me there, I'd be more than grateful," He said over the wind, scowling as it began to pick up again. The light in his hand flickered, and he made it larger to prevent it from going out completely. Sure, he could just make another one, but he didn't want to know what this rider and dragon would do in the second of darkness should the light disappear. Thelduin looked at the lindworm as she hissed, and although he couldn't hear the mental conversation between the two, he could only guess that she didn't like the rider's idea. He stepped closer, and in hopes to gain the dragon and rider's trust more, held out a hand, "My name is Thelduin," He said, noting that they hadn't introduced themselves. He didn't worry too much about giving out his real name. If he were to give out a fake one, it would only ruin the little trust they had with one another, "The glacier isn't too far from here. You could probably make it in a few hours flight, if the weather is right. In this storm, though, I don't know if it'd be best to try and fly." 0 players like this post! Like? |
