Rhys watched in confusion as she fumbled around with her phone, even if she did manage to call the cops what good would it do? He swallowed hard and wondered what was the best way to describe this, "I mean not in your world, it's not possible for you, for your species. But it's possible for him, and for me, and now you know too much." He said, the words practically falling out of his mouth before he could think. He was taken a bit by surprise when she stated scooting forewards so he jumped back a little. His eyes were drawn to her goal and he quickly realised his mistake. Oh well, he was too far away to snatch up the dagger now. And given its stubborn nature, it likely wouldn't respond to his powers, even if she did try to stab him, she couldn't kill him... Could she?! (Sorry for the delay, I thought I already posted D:) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Heather looked up when he started speaking, and abandoned her reach for the dagger, sitting back on her heels to look up at him with a scowl, "Not in my world? Not for my species?" She stood up, kicking the dagger out of the way as she tried to stare him down, "You're crazy. I'm going to call the cops because you just killed a man and believe that there's another world. News flash, no other worlds have been discovered, so you're officially insane." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rhys took a step forward when she stood up if this continued he would have to do something; although he didn't know what yet. "News flash I didn't kill him, I already told you I sent him back to his... Dimension" he said, searching frantically for the right words. Rhys watched the dagger go skidding away across the stone floor, it was pointless to make an attempt to get it. "Well, I say another word, a better way to phrase it would be another Dimension or realm." He explained, choosing his words wisely as these things were very hard to explain, especially to a mortal. He choked out a sort of laugh, attempting to appear calm and under control "sure, call the Police if you want. But I'm warning you, I'll be out of here before you can say knife, and with no evidence or a body I doubt they'll listen to you." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Heather fisted her hands tightly against her sides at his sarcastic imitation of her words, growling in the back of her throat. This guy was obviously insane, but for some reason she couldn't just bring herself to walk away. Maybe it was because she really did think he needed help, or some other reason, but she just couldn't walk away. She glared at him for another moment, then stepped away and folded her arms, seething at his verbal interpretation of her own thoughts, not that he knew she was thinking that, "Fine. The police won't do anything without a body. So since I can't leave--you're blocking the way out--tell me about this other dimension, and maybe I won't report you as a serial rapist." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rhys folded his arms and leaned against the wall again, she was obviously interested in what he had to say. He stifled a half choke, half laugh when she threatened to report him as a serial rapist. "W-What?!" He spluttered disbelief and a tad of horror in his voice. He raised his hands in surrender and bit his bottom lip, a tough decision running through his mind. "Alright, alright fine, I'll tell you, but only so you don't report me, and don't say I didn't warn you!" He said, knowing deep down that what he was about to do would probably land him in huge trouble, but he would have to cross that bridge when he came to it. "There is another dimension that entwines with yours, invisible yet still acceptable to humans. Most know about it, but only some believe in it, it's been eons since a human has set foot in this dimension. Anyway, this dimension goes by many names, Hell, The Underworld, Tartarus call it whatever you want, but this realm is home to many humanoid creatures. I'm sure you've heard of them, they're demons, although to most people they are just urban myths...." He took a pause in explaining and met her gaze, keen to see her reaction to his explanation. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Heather held her position until he moved, not willing to move and make the mistake of showing her fear. His reaction to her words, however, made her laugh and smirk slightly, "You heard me." Obviously, the threat of that was enough to get him to do what she asked. For now, anyway. She mimicked his position as he began to speak, leaning against the wall, and she attempted to keep her expression relatively blank. What he was saying, it was impossible, and highly crazy. When he paused, she pursed her lips slightly, and asked, "Where's your proof?" 0 players like this post! Like? |

He sighed, "proof? Like what?" He asked, looking around desperately for something anything he could work with. After a moment his azure eyes drifted down to his hands, he thought for a moment before looking up at her again. "I'm warning you, you can't un-see this, you don't know what you're getting yourself into." He said, his expression twisted and hard to read, he didn't know what was about happen; but he had a feeling this wasn't the end. After another moment of stalling, he lifted his hand up to the light, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. HIs eyes dug into his palm, and as if someone had flicked a switch a brilliant light burned from within his fingers. He uncoiled his hand to reveal a flickering black flame, tendrils of dark smoke coiling in the air above it. He closed his hand again, and when he reopened it the flame was gone. Rhys looked up at the human "Is that proof enough?" He asked, knowing deep down that his little show didn't have anything to do with other dimensions. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Heather shrugged at his inquiry, not finding it in her to respond to it. He knew what proof was, so she didn't feel the need to tell him what sort of proof she was looking for. But as they stood there, she was starting to have second thoughts about the whole thing. His dagger was unlike anything she'd seen before, and when it had touched the other man he had disappeared in a column of black smoke. Even if it was just an elaborately staged prank or magic show, it was highly unlikely that the actors could have timed it perfectly enough that it would be ultimately convincing. She was still brooding when she noticed that he was holding black fire, and she stared at it for a long moment, as long as it took him to close his hand and snuff out the flame. She barely heard his next question as she stepped forward, grabbing his hand and turning his arm in all sorts of directions, looking either for burns or some holographic device of some sort, even though those didn't really work. After a while, she stepped back and said, "Huh." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rhys watched, somewhat amused as searched him, whatever she tried she would come back empty handed. "I told you, I'm not crazy" he insisted as she stepped back, hoping he had proven his point well. "In fact I.. Ohh no, no, no" he mumbled, eyes widening as he stepped back in shock. Behind the human, there was a tree line, and among the tree line, something rather large and black was making its way towards them. Mildly terrified for his life, Rhys stuck out his hand, it took a few tried but eventually the knife shot into his hand. He flipped it so that he was holding the blade side, and then held it out for the human. "Take this... Er just in case he comes at you... Just stab him!." He muttered, grabbing the girl by the arm and starting to run in the other direction. "Come on! Do you want to die or not?!" He yelled, pointing wildly towards the mass hurling towards them. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 29/01/17 @ 20:34:49 by Sprinkles (#86006) |

Heather looked up at him when he spoke, and nodded slowly, "Maybe you aren't... but I'm still not convinced." Even that sounded empty to her, and she lifted a hand to anxiously run it through her hair. If what he said was true, then everything she knew was wrong. Well, not everything, physics and chemistry still applied, but still... She looked up when the dagger promptly flew into his hand, and she gaped for a few moments until he handed it to her. She took it, very confused, then yelped when he grabbed her arm and started to pull her along after him. She was about to yell at him to let her go, but then she turned to see what he was looking at. After that, she was perfectly keen to run after the man. 0 players like this post! Like? |

After he felt her running Rhys let go of the human, hoping that by bringing her along he wasn't getting both of them killed. Glancing back the creature was looming closer, and Rhys could get a better look, he could confirm now that it was some sort of demon. He wondered why it was chasing them and more importantly why it was here in the first place. It let out a horrible snarl and Rhys whipped around to face the direction he was running in again. To his dismay, they were closing in on a more popular area of town. Rhys knew what he had to, he just needed time and unluckily for him, time wasn't something he had much of at the moment. He glanced at the human beside him and pointed at the dagger in her hand. "I can get us out of here, I just need you to hold him off," he said, a not-so-convincing smile broadening. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Despite the situation, Heather was extremely grateful when he let go of her arm. It occurred to her that she still didn't know his name--she didn't think Malum was correct--and she almost started laughing in the middle of the street. But no, she was being chased by this big black thing that looked like it wanted to kill her. But... maybe it just wanted to kill him. She almost veered off to the side and let him fend for himself, but she was nowhere brave enough to do that. She looked at him when he pointed at her and spoke, and she shrieked, "What!!?" 0 players like this post! Like? |

Rhys bit the inside of his cheek, a large rock settling in the pit of his stomach. "I'm sure he won't some after you" Rhys lied "but just in case he does, just lunge at him with the dagger. And because you are the kind person you are perhaps you could hold him off for a second?" He asked, not really giving her much of a choice as he then proceeded to turn briskly on his heel and walk towards an open space. He held his arms out in front of him, concentrating hard on the space in front of him and the air around him. He squeezed his eyes shut, he could hear the beast coming closer but it was too late to turn around and look now. There was a large rush of air a pale grey smoke trickled from his fingertips and into the air. His makeshift portal was starting to take shape, but he was still (perhaps stupidly) trusting the human to distract the beast. 0 players like this post! Like? |
