She noticed how he sat down on the armrest, but kept her knees pulled up to her chest and the blanket over her legs, "You can sit there, I won't kick you." She smiled back a little at his grin, but she just felt really, really cold right now, so she was more worried about keeping the blanket around her shoulders. She frowned at his words, though, and knitted her eyebrows together, "Why would I try to grab it? That doesn't make sense, it's fire...." She wasn't totally sure if it actually was fire, but it looked like fire so she didn't bother to correct herself. She shrugged slightly, then leaned forward a little, "You suppose so? You don't seem too excited about that. And..." She bit her lip, tilting her head at him slightly, "If you're supposed to be evil, then why aren't you? I mean, you've saved my life..."

He grinned and shuffled off the armrest, folding one leg over the other and leaning into the cushions. He watched her cautiously for a while, hoping she was okay; she looked cold. Before he could ask if she was alright, Heather spoke. Rhys thought for a while before answering. "Fire to you, power to others, I guess it shows your in control, mind over matter," he said, visibly impressed. He tapped his foot against the ground, cautious of how to answer her next question. "I... Well whose to say I'm not evil? Demons like me, we aren't really given a choice, we are technically born evil, so we must do evil. My brother was always very against that idea, I looked up to him. He always loves the human world, and that triggered my curiosity for it. I came up here looking for him, he's been missing 4 months. Rumour has it El ran away with some Angel, I can't think why he would have, though." He said, delving deeper into his personal issues than he intended

She titled her head at him when he came down off the armrest, smiling at the funny--but cute, she had to admit--way he did it. Heather leaned against the side of the side of the couch as he thought about her question, and when he spoke she laughed a little, "Yeah... mind over matter is my specialty..." She snuggled into the blanket, only now thinking about how he might have wanted a blanket too. Oh well, too late for that. She frowned a little as he talked, but as she sensed that what he was talking about was very personal she didn't press on those issues, instead asking, "How are you not given a choice? Just because you are supposedly born evil doesn't mean you have to stay that way..."

He laughed and swung his legs over the top of the armrest, lying down on the couch. From down here he could see how dirty he was, covered in ash and dirt. He stood up quickly and looked at him to see if there was anything on the couch. HE brushed off the little dirt that was on there, and then took off his hoodie; revealing a somewhat clean shirt underneath. He looked at Heather to check if she too was covered in soot since he hadn't bothered to check before.

She smiled a bit at his laugh, and frowned when she finally noticed that he was covered in black stuff... and so was she. She quickly stood, brushing her hands over her shirt to try and get rid of it, failing miserably and just smearing it everywhere, "What is this stuff? Smells like..." she sniffed, stinking her nose, "Ashes?"

He wrinkled up his nose, ashes had never really bothered him much before, but it was now. "I think so, yeah," he said, looking around for maybe some running water or a cloth to wipe it off. He looked back at Heather "you haven't inhaled it, have you?" He asked

She shook her head, wrinkling her nose before nodding to the stairs, "There's a shower upstairs, if you want to use that.... Or you can just use the sink in the kitchen."

Rhys thought for a moment, he didn't exactly want to trek all the way upstairs so he decided the sink would be better. "I'll use the sink... Please" he added, as apparently humans cooperated better when you said that word.

She nodded, and coughed again before standing, leading him into the laundry room, "This sink is bigger than the one in the kitchen, so it'll be better.... Um, should I go shower?" She looked down at her arms, which were covered in ash.

He followed her in, and couldn't help but wrinkle her nose at the smell of... Cleanliness? He didn't quite know what it was, but it was strong. He decided not to complain and instead walked over to the sink. He cleared his throat, "uh yes, if you'd like..." He said, not really knowing how to respond to her.

"Uh yes! Wash it off, I wouldn't breathe it in" he said quickly, leaning over the sink and examining it. He turned the silver twister-thing and watched as the water poured out. They didn't exactly have these where he came from, but he wasn't stupid. He knew how to work them... Mostly.

Heather couldn't help but smile at his sudden avidness, and shook her head before going upstairs to her room, getting in the shower and taking great care to wash all of the ash off of her body and out of her hair, getting out and drying herself on before putting on some shorts and a shirt, for the moment forgetting that there was someone else in the house.
