Heather just gaped at him as he spoke, easily seeing through his lie. "You are such a bastard! I cannot believe--" She stopped talking when the grey smoke started moving from his fingers, and she couldn't help but stare for a moment, at least until she heard another growl from behind her. Luckily, she still had enough sense to start backing away, at a slight angle away from the man, the thing following her almost immediately. She wouldn't be able to do anything with this stupid dagger, she was already exhausted from just running here. But... she thought that if she just kept this up, maybe she could get out of this without killing herself.

The portal was just about finished, and Rhys was exhausted but he still managed to smirk at her comment. " A bastard? That's a little harsh, I'm only trying to keep us both alive. You want me to be honest? Because if we don't get out of here pretty soon, it will rip both of us to shreds." He watched as she backed away from the creature, what she was doing was smart as it would protect him, but it might put her in danger. The beast snarled and Rhys watched as it followed her, eager to corner her somewhere where no one could get to her. He groaned, he couldn't just let her die, if she needed to she could probably protect herself, she was smart enough. But Rhys wasn't eager to find out whether or not the demon was going to attack her or not. He lunged away from the portal, and lumbered to her side, throwing the beast a terrified glare before gripping her around the waist. He threw all of his weight to the left and into the portal, praying that she would follow soon after.

Heather grumbled something under her breath, then said, louder, "Oh, right, because that's such the inspirational talk. Thank you, whoever you are, for being such a great person." She backed up faster and nearly tripped over herself when the thing snarled, and the knife was shaking in her hand. She was about to drop it when she felt someone grab her around the waist, and she screeched loudly before she was suddenly thrown sideways, into the gray smoke.

Rhys had to bite his tongue hard to stop himself from yelling in fear, he had done this 1000 times but he still hated the feeling. They had been falling for a while before Rhys realised that he hadn't pictured anywhere in his mind. This meant that until someone thought of somewhere distingtive, they would just be falling. He tried to think of somewhere he rememberd, but the only places he could think of was the field they were just on; and hell. crap! he thought, turning to the girl somewhat expectantly to see what she was thinking.

Heather didn't really know what she was expecting, it surely wasn't what happened. Despite her not wanting to be near him, she buried her face in the man's chest and held him tightly, her stomach feeling like it was flying out of her throat. She was falling. falling for so long, and she couldn't help but think that this man just wanted to kill her. And then she just thought about how much she wanted to go home, to go home and get away from this crazy person who had just shattered her whole life.

Rhy's ears were filled with the noise of rushing wind, however, in the distance, he could hear a whirring noise. His fall was beginning to slow and for a moment Rhys wondered if they were about to smash into something. And then, there was a sharp tugging sensation in his chest, almost as if someone was dragging him by the shirt. The feeling was growing stronger and stronger, Rhys clenched his teeth together. The whirring noise was louder now, much louder, it was almost unbearable. And then suddenly, there was a moment of tranquillity, before his face and chest collided with something; the ground he presumed. He groaned and slowly began to untangle himself, guessing that eighter he or the human must have thought of somewhere.

Heather clutched the man's shirt more tightly as their fall began to slow, thinking that this was it, this was the end, she was going to die before she even started college. She didn't notice anything but her own racing heart, and of course the fact that she was clinging to someone she barely knew, so the incessant whirring didn't bother her too much. She let out a screech when her body slammed into something, and it took her a few moments to recover enough to be able to lift her head and look around. When she was able to see her surroundings, she almost sobbed in relief. She was home, in her living room, lying on the carpet on her back, spread eagle. She didn't move, couldn't move.

When at last Rhys found the strength to sit up, he instantly wished he hadn't. The room swirled around him and the floor felt unstable beneath him. He rubbed his temples and forced his eyes to open wider. He looked at his surroundings, unsure of where he was. He didn't recognise half of the stuff around him, and it certainly didn't look like he was in Hell. He looked around, baffled by the unfamiliar room around him. "Where the hell am I?" He mumbled, scooting towards the table so that he could haul himself up.

It wasn't long before she turned and curled up in fetal position, burying her face in her knees to try and recover, breathing hard. Heather had no idea what happened, none at all, and the fact that nothing was finding a place in her ordered view of the universe scared the living hell out of her. She let out a tiny sob, then lifted her head to look through blurry eyes at the man who had dragged her into the mess, saying shakily, "This is my house."

His eyes widened when he saw that the woman was still with him, and the breath was sucked out of him when she said they were in her house. He stood up suddenly, the world jolting backwards violently as he did so. "What do mean your house?! Are there other human's here?" He asked, looking around frantically for something to hide behind.

Heather started laughing at his reaction to her statement, and it took her a few moments to stop. Even then, her speaking was still shot through with giggles, a reaction to the stress of the day, "No, there's no one here! It's just me--the rest of my family is in Poland." She was still lying on the floor, and was totally not ready to get up yet.

He looked at her wildly, wondering why she could be laughing at such a time. Although he was still worried he breathed out a sigh of relief when she said it was just her. He frowned, standing up from where he was half crouching behind some curtains. "Who is Poland?" He asked, wondering if they were hostile, and why her family was with them.

Heather sat up after another few moments, just in time to see the man stand up from under the curtains. She couldn't help but laugh at that; it was stupid for him to try and hide under the curtains. She laughed at his next question, and shook her head, "No, silly, Poland is a place." She giggled again , and covered her mouth with a hand.

He didn't really see what she found so funny, although he did smile a little when she giggled; it wasn't a sound he was used too. He furrowed his brow, feeling slightly stupid for not knowing what "Poland" is, then again this wasn't his dimension. "I thought mortals hadn't discovered different dimensions yet. Or is Poland another one of those land masses from across the ocean?" He asked.

She bit her lip hard, and shook her head before stumbling to her feet and going to sit on the couch. However, at his next question, she turned around and rested his elbows on the back of the couch, propping her chin up on her hands, smiling at him again, "It's on another one of those land masses. They're called continents, if you didn't know." She wasn't trying to be mean to him, and she moved so that her chin was against the back of the couch instead of her elbows, "What's your name, anyway?"
